There is no elevator and the place feels like a tenement. The rooms face the pool at the same level, with zero privacy. I have never seen such a busy pool, it was like a party every day, shouting, and singing until 10pm. It was terrible for us because I have two babies who go to sleep at 7:30, and until 10pm it was a nightmare. The cleanliness was awful. The carpet in the room was sticky, so we couldn’t walk barefoot. The bathroom also showed only very superficial cleaning. I would not recommend this hotel.

The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel itself was very clean. The layout is a little confusing, and if you use mobility aids or have troubles navigating stairs, you do need to do lots of additional walking, which also includes going through the pool atrium, which can be a safety hazard. The fitness room has dumbbells that go up to 40lbs and a good solid cable tower as well as cardio equipment. The pool atrium is very large, and beautiful. It would be beneficial to have more towels, as there were many individuals who were not able to get a towel after swimming due to only a little amount being displayed. The pool was a little on the chilly side, and quite dirty with sand/dirt on the bottom. The pool was a generous size which was appreciated. For parking, there were lots of parking spots to choose from, but the downfall would be the lack of plug ins, which is important to have especially when it comes to colder temperatures. Overall, a good stay, and will be staying again, just in the summer months.

The existence of a Denny's is nice, but the steakhouse restaurant is predictably pretentious & overpriced. The trek to our room was absurd, edge of the pool, winding back & forth - an arduous journey. Finally, the neighbourhood: utterly god-awful! Barren, surrounded by 8-lane roads, noisy, stinky. Its only selling point is that it's just a short drive to the W.E. Mall.

Excellent location, near to services shops and the mall. Two restaurants attached and close to a universe of others. Hallways and common areas need some TLC, carpeting is old and musty, and a new coat of paint for the pool area. Parking lot anround the tower could use a good pressure wash. Open shower concept with rainfall needs a door and a shower wand. Staff are responsive and accommodating to reasonable requests. Overall decent value for money here. I’m rating this Sandman location 7.7 out of 10 overall.

Great Sandman property! Poor front desk girl was overwhelmed during check in she was bombarded! A bit confusing and not well signed to get from the Tower to the amenity (pool and fitness centre).

The bathroom was dirty. The shower head had a lot of build up. Toilet had some stains. Carpet didn’t look like it was steam cleaned in years as well as the couches.

This hotel is in rough condition. It has the illusion of being nice but the rooms have been pretty beat up. There are dings in the walls, the bathroom is surface clean but there is rust and bad grout everywhere. Will not stay here again

Bathroom wasn’t very clean at all, lots of homeless hanging around definitely didn’t feel safe going out on my own, they also would leave buggy’s around the parking lot. Parking lot is very tight. We were there for a wedding and part of the bridal party. All rooms were booked together none of us were on the same floor as we were told we would be. Front desk staff was friendly. Asked for tidy up from house keeping only thing we got was towels. Super disappointed in this sandman, stayed at other locations this has to be by far the worst one I have stayed at.

The property was dirty and needed a good vacuum. The fridge had brown water, that smelt in the drip tray, which I did ask to be cleaned and in the end we cleaned it because no body came. Getting pool towels was a challenge as the staff just weren’t bothered. There was definitely some questionable clientele. I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not be staying there again.

Room was super small! also had a room connected by a hallway door that we thought was not booked or would have upgraded. The Hallway door kept us awake all night from the other room opening and closing almost every hour.. One can only imagine what they were doing or running out of that room! The property was very nice. Go for the bigger room, doesn't cost that much more and you'll have a great experience there!

This hotel is near a very busy fire station, so you'll be woken up by lots of fire trucks all night, especially if you're in the tower part of the hotel. The room is VERY small, there are no ice machines in the tower. But the AC unit worked very well. That's a plus I guess haha.

Don't stay in the tower. The noise from the street and emergency vehicles will wake you the whole night. Also the black out curtains do not fully cover the windows, so that will keep you up. The room also smelt like cigarettes. People must have smoked with the balcony door open and the smoke blew into the unit. All in all, a rough sleep that I might have only got a couple hours in the night.

Didn’t like that you had to check in then leave with the stuff I unpacked to drive to the tower, and same with check out, the bed was super uncomfortable, the room was nice and big , tvs were small with only basic cable, and there was no bathtub, only a crappy shower that the base filled up with water, no door and no handheld , so washing children was not fun.

We were put in a room right next to some kind of mechanical room (maybe the pump room for the pool?) It was VERY loud and went all night long. Beds were not too comfortable - at the end of their life. The hotel is a bit of a maze and limited parking out front due to two restaurants that access the same parking lot. Staff was friendly. Pool area is inviting and comfortable. Decent location and access to amenities.

The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful during check in. There was absolutely nothing on Travelocity informing us about an extra $100 deposit on top of the price we paid for the hotel $160 so when we got there we had to pay an extra $100. So $260. We informed the lady at the front desk there was no warning about the $100 deposit for a room. I also had to give the name of the person staying with me and felt very profiled honestly and judged. The lady was very rude and dismissive when i mentioned that Travelocity doesn’t have a notice or anything about an extra $100 charge. She told me it wasn’t a charge. I explained that it’s an extra $100 we have to pay and get back later so that is a charge. She rolled her eyes and said it’s on their website and not their issues Travelocity doesn’t have a warning about the $100 deposit. We then got lost because the lady told us we were on the 4th floor. We went back to the front desk and once again she told us fourth floor and there are only 3 floors. Our room was on the 3rd floor. This is my first and last time staying with this hotel. The lack of customer service and rudeness from the ladies at the front desk has made me never want to come back. Especially when I’ve stayed at much nicer places and not been asked for an extra surprise $100 deposit and I’ve never been asked to give info on everyone staying in the room as if we are criminals. Definitely not impressed!

We had a horrendous stay. First off, they advertise the king room with pull out for four people. The pull out is a single bed. My teen had to sleep on the floor. We found garbage on the floor in multiple places, counters were dirty garbage container full. And the worst were the staff who had no care that my kids were on the floor. They refused sheets and blankets at first utill I had to demand them. There’s no elevator so we lugged our bags up three floors with no help offered as a mom and three kids. Staff were rude and clearly not invested in my stay. Very unimpressed.

Only a few minute drive to West Edmonton Mall. Only thing I would say is we stayed over a weekend and there was a lot of rough people around the outside of the hotel and was approached by a few of them. Also had security guards walking the hotel hallways..

Booked for a weekend that was apparently also a soccer tournament so there was a lot of ruckus, especially in the pool. However, staff was great and made sure the pool cleared out just after 10pm. Parking lot was a bit of a mess, but considering the recent snow/thaw, that is to be expected. Chop restaurant had amazing food and service as well. Convenient location, close to WEM and major roads in and out of Edmonton. Overall, happy with the stay.
