Excellent position, be difficult to navigate to the car park and the parking spaces are very tight. I would park somewhere else if you have a large car! The hotel was the best Ibis we have started in. Excellent breakfast, position and staff.

Everything you expect from an Ibis - clean, good price, excellent city centre location and friendly staff. The formula works well. Beware if you are parking a large car in the hotel car park as it is a small area and difficult to manoeuvre

Sehr umweltbewusst organisiert. Sauberes kleines Zimmer mit allem, was man braucht. Es gab sogar einen Mehrfach-Steckdosenwürfel mit USB-Anschlüssen. Bequemes Bett. Super zentrale Lage inmitten von fußläufigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Gastronomie-Angeboten. Leider extrem enge Parkgarage mit wenigen Plätzen und ohne E-Ladesäule.

Ideal location next to three favorite tourist attractions. Ideal also to walk to the castle. The hotel staff was so helpful! I'm very grateful to be in a warm and friendly hotel. I love the eating and social area where when you can go in the evening, they are so welcoming. There are also games and a nice setting for visiting.

The receptiion staff and the lady behind the bar were all excellent, however our cleaner was very poor. The location is superb and can't be bettered. The underground 12 space car park insanely tight.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and I really like that the luggage storage was in a secured room. The room itself was nice and spacious. The bed was comfortable. They had AC so it would be good on a hot summer day but the weather was so nice we just had the windows open the entire time and the noise from the street and church bells wasn’t that bad. They didn’t have a fridge or kettle in the room but you can ask for hot water at the restaurant downstairs. The only thing we didn’t like is when we walked into our room, it looks like they just cleaned it and mopped the floor, so the floor was sopping wet and kinda smelled weird. We had to use the bathroom rug to dry it and the open window helped with the wet smell. Other than that, it was awesome and Ghent is beautiful!

This would be a 1 or two star review, however because our concerns were constructively addressed by the staff I bumped it up to three. The first room we were given the heating did not work and it was a single room even though we booked a double room. Smaller bed, one light, one socket, one nightstand. When we brought that up it was ignored by the staff but we were given a new room. In this room the heating was so loud that we could not sleep and the bathroom smelt like someone had smoked or lit a fire in there. The third room was fine except for the very loud neighbours but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. However, in the morning we discovered a lot of dirt in the shower so it had not been properly cleaned. After all this we decided to cut our trip short and leave. We spoke to the manager about that and she was very kind. She understood our concerns and our ultimate decision to leave. She was kind enough to issue a refund for one night which we highly appreciated!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ibis Gent Centrum St. Baafs Kathedraal hotel from Sep 6 to Sep 12 and would like to sincerely thank the entire team for their exceptional service. The hotel is spotless, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job — the room was cleaned thoroughly every day, towels were changed regularly.The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The location is absolutely perfect: right in the heart of the historic center, within walking distance of many major landmarks and attractions. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. There was a fantastic selection of both hot and cold options, as well as a wide variety of fresh pastries and baked goods. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the outstanding service and the incredible staff. We are especially grateful for the way the team responded during a very difficult moment. My husband had a cardiac episode during our stay, and the staff (lovely Juultje and Jana) reacted with professionalism and care. They quickly asked all the necessary questions and called an ambulance without hesitation. Their calm support and willingness to help meant the world to us. It was an overwhelming situation, but their presence was a source of real comfort. Thank you again to the entire team — your kindness and empathy made a huge difference and will never be forgotten. We would definitely stay again at this hotel and recommend it to everyone staying in historical center of Gent.

The hotel itself is clean, well maintained & reasonably comfortable. The location is wonderful, right across the street from the cathedral. The staff I dealt with were all pleasant and helpful. However, there are a number of little annoyances. Of course there's no soundproofing so you hear every noise inside & outside the hotel. The slot for your key, to switch the power on, is not beside the door so you have to hold the door open or grope around to find it. The bathroom was very cramped with the toilet set awkwardly behind the door. There were no hand towels or face cloths, just rather small bath towels. The climate control did nothing so the room was always too warm. There were no bedside tables. The mattress was ok but not very high quality.

Perfect location, lots of bars and restaurants around. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room wasn't too big, did not have a safe or a mini bar. But if you are staying for a night or two it is no biggie. Area seemed really safe too. Cathedral was just outside our room, and had a great view. Try getting a room ending with an even number. Enjoy the stay.

The room was just a little too small. I had to take a dump on the toilet seat sideways as the toilet is right up against the wall. The guy checking us in was great. Room was clean, facilities were good, breakfast was fine. Size of room is what I talk about when I describe the room.

Hotel staff weeee great and helpful, especially assisting us with a medical emergency and being accommodating. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel is very nice and clean. Location is fantastic for touring the main sights of old Ghent. Only issue with the hotel is it was noisier than previous hotels, poorer sound proofing between rooms and especially to outside. But overall a great hotel and good value!

Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel bij het in- en uitchecken. Prima hotel, zeer gunstig gelegen: alles op loopadstand. Alleen het vinden van de locatie met navigatie is een dingetje vanwege de autovrije zone, maar met de juiste aanwijzingen van het personeel toch gelukt.

I made a reservation for two beds, which was confirmed prior to my arrival. However upon arrival I was told there were no rooms with two beds available as the front desk clerks “associate” had changed it to one double bed. As this is not what I had reserved, or confirmed, I asked for a refund and I would go elsewhere. I was told the room was nonrefundable and nothing could be done in terms of a refund or changing rooms to one that had two beds as requested. There was no explanation of why this reservation was changed by their staff. Very disappointed

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt! Aus dem Fenster konnten wir direkt auf zwei Sehenswürdigkeiten blicken und alles war zu Fuß gut zu erreichen. Für weitere Wege ist eine Tramstation nicht weit weg.

The hotel is right on the corner of the square in Ghent, it was not too noisy though. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast and bar areas were clean and well stocked. It is very easy to find your way around the city and the tram services are excellent. Have a look around the castle, a good two or three hours to cover it. Many churches too. We are not religious, but the architecture is something to behold. A trip to Patrick Foley's Irish Bar is also worth it.
