A very fine, little hotel in close proximity to the central railway station, Gent Sint-Pieters. Formidable breakfast with a la carte warm menu, fresh pastries and damn good coffee, very spacious and modern decor room with high quality bed and plenty of power for your devices, and the best of service from all staff - and the owner himself. Indoor garage with charging for EV-cars soon to be installed. A true recommendation - I will be back!

Nice place. Enjoyed it. Very close to Train station, but at very quiet residential street. Staff polite and helpful. Rooms are large, plenty of outlets. Internet speed good. Nice touch - they are giving daily bottled water at glass bottles (NOT plastic!) along with squares of Belgian chocolate. Mini fridge on the room. All in All had VERY NICE relaxing stay and RECC that place With NO RESERVATIONS / NO “IF” and “BUT”…

The hotel was about a mile into town and a beautiful walk along the canal. Room was spacious and had all we needed. Breakfast was fantastic. Buffet of cold items and breads/pastries, fruit, etc, and hot items made to order from a menu. Absolutely delicious and all local/homemade. Parking was metered right in front and spaces available. Overnight parking was free and we only had to pay after 9am. We had a great stay here.

Perfect hotel near train station. Easy in and out for one night stay. I gave the condition of facilities a 3 star because the hallways are extremely narrow and could potentially be a fire hazard. Would not be allowed in USA. We were on first floor and felt safe enough but not sure about higher floors.

Very convenient location next to all transport options easy to catch a train, tram, or walk to anywhere you need. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff and kind. This is an older hotel but in good shape with some modern touches and the lift worked well. Good value for the Euro in my opinion. Breakfast onsite was very nice and had lots of options but there's also lots of great options nearby to explore. The room at the top 602 has a balcony which is nice to sit and enjoy the sunset and put feet up after a long day of sight seeing.

We booked this property as it appeared to be the most suitable option near the train station. We were warmly welcomed and promptly received our room without delay. The room was spacious, with the exception of the bathroom, where there was limited storage space for toiletries. The toilet paper was positioned in an inconvenient location adjacent to the sink. The towels and amenities were adequate, but the linens on the bed were of satisfactory quality, while the pillow was excessively limp, lacking the firmness of a conventional pillow. Very friendly staff in a clean, quiet hotel a couple minutes walk from the train station in Ghent, nice bakeries and markets nearby if you want to get your own breakfast, easy tram ride to historic center. Nothing special about the room but it served our needs perfectly.

Juste un petit problème de nettoyage. Les cheveux longs bruns sont restés collés sur le carrelage de la douche.pas très plaisant. A part le ménage qui devrait être parfait au vu du cadre de l'hôtel, l'équipe est super 😀. Un vrai plaisir. Nous reviendrons car la ville est superbe. La chambre et lit confortable. Merci pour votre aide, notre voiture est tombée en panne dès notre arrivée et l'équipe de l'hôtel a été à la hauteur.

Hotel Carlton was a perfect place to stay in Ghent. It was a couple of minutes walk to the train station and about 25 minutes walk to the historic centre. The room was spacious and had a kettle and coffee machine. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly.

The property is a small intimate hotel. The reception staff is outstanding and provides top concierge services. I needed help getting handicapped service on the trains and the evening shift did a great job. They had lots of suggestions and, of course, plenty of directions. The breakfast is outstanding and uses mostly Ghent ingredients.

The hotel is near the train station, which is quite convenient if you are travelling in Ghent. The room is clean and big,which is nice. What I like the most about the hotel is the friendliness of the hotel staff. I forgot to ask her name, but she recommended us a Belgian restaurant which we had one of the best meals in Belgium. My parents love the little cookies which was offered in the front desk, and she even gave us some before we left the hotel. Her kindness and smile make us leave a really good impression about the hotel. Thank you very much!

From the moment I walked in the front door. I’ve had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff here. Shauni, Manon and Virginie our wonderful hostesses! So helpful, kind, enthusiastic, and just all-around great ladies! They instantly made me feel like I was their number one priority. Highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness and location.

This lodging was ideal for a visit to Ghent. I picked it for its location (5 minute walk from StPieters train station but loved everything about it. Staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. Room was large by European standards. Buffet breakfast (with made to order eggs and mini pancakes) was excellent. Its location near the train station and tram stop made it easy to get to and from Brussels and to get into the historic center for sightseeing. The hotel even sold the Ghent City card - worth it if you visit at least most of the sights in town and use the tram. If I could I would rate this lodging an 11 out of 10. We are world travelers and this place is a gem. Also around the corner is Traiteur Toulouse - excellent food at a reasonable price. Also recommended by the hotel.

Well situated very close to the train station and close to various restaurants. In a side road so also quiet, which was a bonus. Room was very spacious, clean and staff extremely friendly and helpful. It is just quite a long walk to the old town for any sightseeing.

Ble møtt av en veldig hyggelige ansatt i en liten, men koselig resepsjonen. Heisen og trappene var små og trange. Overraskelsen kunne knapt blitt større da jeg åpnet døren til rommet. Et stort, lyst og veldig trivelig rom var det som møtte meg. Rent og fint og badekar. Frokosten var også veldig bra. Kan anbefale hotellet på det sterkeste. Er nære togstasjonen, men du må gå 15-20 minutter for å komme inn til sentrum for turister.. men det var en fin gåtur og mye å se på veien dit også.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Carlton Hotel. It is on the tram and a five minute walk from the train station. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ghent!

The hotel was about a mile into town and a beautiful walk along the canal. Room was spacious and had all we needed. Breakfast was fantastic. Buffet of cold items and breads/pastries, fruit, etc, and hot items made to order from a menu. Absolutely delicious and all local/homemade. Parking was metered right in front and spaces available. Overnight parking was free and we only had to pay after 9am. We had a great stay here.

A very fine, little hotel in close proximity to the central railway station, Gent Sint-Pieters. Formidable breakfast with a la carte warm menu, fresh pastries and damn good coffee, very spacious and modern decor room with high quality bed and plenty of power for your devices, and the best of service from all staff - and the owner himself. Indoor garage with charging for EV-cars soon to be installed. A true recommendation - I will be back!

This lodging was ideal for a visit to Ghent. I picked it for its location (5 minute walk from StPieters train station but loved everything about it. Staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. Room was large by European standards. Buffet breakfast (with made to order eggs and mini pancakes) was excellent. Its location near the train station and tram stop made it easy to get to and from Brussels and to get into the historic center for sightseeing. The hotel even sold the Ghent City card - worth it if you visit at least most of the sights in town and use the tram. If I could I would rate this lodging an 11 out of 10. We are world travelers and this place is a gem. Also around the corner is Traiteur Toulouse - excellent food at a reasonable price. Also recommended by the hotel.

This is a small and very friendly hotel. We felt very welcomed. Amazing breakfast cooked to order. A room with views across the city. We have stayed in some of the larger 4/5 star hotels in Ghent previously and this was all round a much more pleasant stay.

Alles war toll!!! Wir waren 4 Nächte im Carlton und waren ausserordentlich zufrieden. Nur beim Komfort konnten wir nicht die volle Punktzahl geben. Das Bad war etwas klein und hatte nicht viel Ablageflächen. Alles Andere war hervorragend und besser als in vielen teureren Hotels. Hervorragendes Frühstück und sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal !!!

I am so glad that I stayed at Carlton. First, it is very close Sint Pieters train station. I could haul my big suitcase from the station to the hotel with no difficulty. Next, my room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had air conditioning. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Finally, the hotel lobby is cute and cozy. After checkout, I set in the lobby and had a cup of coffee before my arrived.

It's a comfortable bed in an area convenient for both train station and public tram usage. The neighborhood has a lot of students and all of the usual conveniences you would expect in a neighborhood where people live and work. I appreciated the hot water, & bath for my son.
