We have stayed at the Novotel Glasgow numerous times. Breakfast - has gone downhill, items only luke warm, coffee m/c is a nightmare to use. Defo not worth the cost. Parking - now taken over by an independent company, so charged per day & per exit, previously only be per exit. Bus party arrived when we arrived back to go & get ready for dinner, had to wait 30mins to use the lifts.

Was an overnight stay, Hotel had limited parking, so arriving from a long drive and not getting a parking spot wasn't great and limited street parking as well. Was able to move the car in the morning so we could pack the car up again.

Hotel is nice, perfectly situated for the city centre, only 5 minutes from The Kings Theatre. The underground carpark is a massive bonus and at only £8 a day is a bargain. The room was large but a bit basic and no sockets beside the beds which is a bit annoying, also the room was very warm and only a fan to cool it but because the sockets are one the other side of the room, it renders it pretty pointless. Other than that the room was fine. The bar area is nice, with a decent selection.

The advantage is its location. The disadvantages are that they charge for the occupant's car parking, the lift in the car park is not working, so you have to carry all the luggage from the car park to the reception, the reception is so small that it takes at least more than 30 minutes to check-in as there is only one person there and many guests, and the rooms are plain with bad beds and no space to walk around. The bathroom is divided in half, where the toilet part is separate and the bathing part is separate. The room service is not good either.

Although they have notices up to warn clients there are renovation works in progress, I wasn’t expecting a workman to just let himself into my room! (thankfully I was fully clothed!) I didn’t request 3 beds in the room & it was a bit tight to squeeze past the wall to get into the double, (room is not big enough for double & twin combo). Bed was ok, not the most comfortable. Toilet separate to washroom/shower, very old, scruffy and in need of this upgrade. Car park in the basement was really useful (£8) Staff were lovely & helpful. Overall for one night, 5min walking distance to The Kings Theatre, I would stay here again, but ask for a more suitable room (hopefully a renovated one!)

Room was very good, bathroom was nice (though the partition seemed like it should be longer to avoid splashing out). Beds were comfortable. No air conditioning (we were there during a heat wave), though the window does open slightly. Reception staff were fantastic at answering my many questions, specifically about parking. Street parking is free from 6pm to 8am. There are a few spaces in the hotel garage - only about 15 though (8 GBP for 24 hours), and a nearby city parking garage they can provide a discount for (we were parking in it for about 26 hours for about 15 GBP) was a 5 minute walk. Recommend the Slouch Bar around the corner for some late-night food or drinks too!

The room was very dated with the decor quite poor. There was only o e lift working which meant a wait of up to ten minutes to get from the 4th floor. When i was checking out and highlighted my complaints to the receptionist his comment was "fair enough" in a surly manner. Not acceptable.

Room was spotless. Staff were very friendly. Great location for shops and the theatre. Lovely family room. Great breakfast. If we had one complaint it would be the price of the alcohol. £11 for a glass of wine is a bit excessive. We get that it's city prices and the hotel is of a high standard but that's just too pricey. We decided to go out rather than pay that price. We also spent the rest of the time in our room having bought a bottle of wine for a lot less money. We would've preferred to drink in the hotel but not at that price. Such a shame. None the less we enjoyed our stay.

Staff were attentive, room spacious. 3rd floor button broken had to press up to get lift to floor almost got stuck in other lift and lif was out of order after our episode. 2 nights running we ordered meals which took at least 30 mins but were very noce

Hotel looks great in dining area reception etc. But carpets throughout are worn and dirty. Rooms very small and not that clean . Bath was cracked as were walls. Overall poor standard. Reception staff one in particular was rather unpleasant.

The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. We signed up for their app and we enjoyed a complimentary drink. The location was close to everything and I would choose this hotel on my next visit. We also took advantage of their buffet breakfast…well worth the money.

Room didn’t have a ‘main’ light, instead a series of lamps that needed individually turning off before bed. The toilet room was very small. Wi-Fi hardly worked and there was no phone service in our room. Had more of an ibis budget feel to it

Standard Novotel. Needs a refresh. No A/C in the rooms; there was a small desk fan but very cheap quality that made really loud noise because of the cheap mechanism / age. No fridge or ice machines … very rough for a summer in Scotland. Breakfast spread was pretty good though.

Expected better from a four star hotel. The room was dated in many ways and had one plug point we could use. There was no air-conditioning and it was too hot on a not particularly warm day. The windows opened but then you'd have the noise of Glasgow city centre, so you had to make a decision if you were going to be kept awake by noise or the heat.

The hotel was superb, very nice downstairs, the bar area and the breakfast area. Breakfast was outstanding there was so much choice. I liked the security as you needed your room card to go on the lift. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the room was very hot and the air conditioning was clearly not working, thankfully we were only staying one night.

The hotel was within walking distance to the main shopping atras in Buchannon street and St Georges square. Plenty of choice og restaurants nearby. I wouldnt recommend it if you have trouble walking ad yhe area id very hilly. Our family was ok but didnt have any sockets behind or near the beds so wr haf to request an extension lead for my daughter's Cpap machine. The toilet is separate to the bathroom but doesnt have a wash hand basin. Our tea/ coffee and milk wasn't "topped up" so we had to go to reception to ask for more , we stayed 3 nights. Breakfast was good with adequate choices, staff need to check more frequently though when food was running low e.g eggs. Overall, we had a lovely weekend and would stay here again.

Stayed in room 529, never stayed in a room where the toilet and wash hand basin are in separate internal rooms. Come out toilet to have to go into the other room to wash your hands. The wall resemble the old wood chip wallpaper, the tv was from around 1990, lack of sockets near the bed. Asked for a fan to be put in my room as no aircon and very warm, no fan ever appeared but I got the impression from reception they had no intention of even looking for one. Building site right next door had a generator running all night long which disturbed my sleep something awful. Bed was comfy though, fridge and canned water complimentary in the room and breakfast was just ok, nothing more. Staff were probably the worst I have encountered in any hotel stay, no manners and more interested in talking to each other or on their phones. I wouldn’t return to this hotel even if it was for a free stay. Very disappointed. Of you want to stay in this area have a look at Dakota which is right over the road, this is a far superior hotel than Novotel.

Well placed hotel, looks good and service was great. The only downside was the temperature in the room as it was far too hot, there wasn't any air-conditioning and the one window wasn't sufficient to cool it down.

It was all quite basic and dated. Both the shower and the sink didn’t drain, a few lights didn’t work. Limited plug sockets. We could hear the person next door snoring all night and then playing very loud music from 6am due to a door in the room, which presumably if unlocked would join the rooms together. However, the location was good, it was clean and the staff were nice.

Very good hotel only 2 faults, ordered room service on the app but after an hour decided to phone down to room service they didn't check the app so therefore took another 30 mins for 2 pizzas,excuse was they were busy, and the heating system was broken tried to turn off but heat still coming out,the room was like a furnace so couldnt sleep but the night staff were brilliant gave us a fan and iced water ,but i would be back

Had a very pleasant stay. Check in was great and we both got a free drink on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Staff friendly and rooms comfortable. We had a disturbance in the early hours of morning from someone thinking it was their room but the staff resolved it quickly.

The hotel is very updated and the staff is very nice. I loved the hotel. BUT: reserved a bed and a pull out couch. The pull out couch bed was not made and when I asked the maid she said she was very busy and that she never made the pull out couch bed, as per orders. I ended up asking for some sheets and making it ourselves. But we didn’t have a duvet so my son was cold during the night. We called the front desk but nobody answered so we gave up. We should have insisted but when you are traveling for one day in the end you don’t want to have to deal with all this. My recommendation is to make sure when you reserve to say you are going to use the pull out couch.

It took 40 min to check in because they said my Expedia reservation is not in the system. Then all of a sudden it was. The colleague traveling with me was given a card key for a room already occupied by another person. The front desk personnel was kind and was trying to help but ultimately I was left with the impression that there is a complete chaos at this hotel.

Hotel is nice, perfectly situated for the city centre, only 5 minutes from The Kings Theatre. The underground carpark is a massive bonus and at only £8 a day is a bargain. The room was large but a bit basic and no sockets beside the beds which is a bit annoying, also the room was very warm and only a fan to cool it but because the sockets are one the other side of the room, it renders it pretty pointless. Other than that the room was fine. The bar area is nice, with a decent selection.

The hotel itself is located close to public transportation and to a lot of places to eat and drink nearby. You could easily walk to any of the restaurants and bars within about 10-15 minutes from the hotel. It is also close to public transportation such as bus and train stations; very convenient. It is also about a 15 minute walking distance from a car rental, SixT, which we utilized when we rented a car for a day trip to Oban. As far as cleanliness, the hotel was clean and well kept, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I was even able to get some suggestions for places to visit from the hotel staff. The hotel also provided a hot water kettle with some complementary tea, instant coffee, and hot cocoa. It does not seem like a lot, but on days after sightseeing and being tired from walking around and being damp, putting on some hot tea helped. The bed was good, the furniture was clean and comfortable. The room also included a mini fridge, which was useful as it allowed my wife and I to have some food items we bought from a nearby grocery store or keep leftovers from a restaurant. However, the one weird thing about our room was the fact that the bathroom and toilet were separate. It just felt really weird having to go to separate places for the showering and going to the bathroom. Other than that, I was very satisfied with my stay. I recommend this hotel overall for a great experience and the convenience of the location.

Although they have notices up to warn clients there are renovation works in progress, I wasn’t expecting a workman to just let himself into my room! (thankfully I was fully clothed!) I didn’t request 3 beds in the room & it was a bit tight to squeeze past the wall to get into the double, (room is not big enough for double & twin combo). Bed was ok, not the most comfortable. Toilet separate to washroom/shower, very old, scruffy and in need of this upgrade. Car park in the basement was really useful (£8) Staff were lovely & helpful. Overall for one night, 5min walking distance to The Kings Theatre, I would stay here again, but ask for a more suitable room (hopefully a renovated one!)

There is a huge construction site next door, asked for a room on the other side of the hotel and was assured it was, room was directly opposite and woken at before 7am. We have stayed at the Novotel Glasgow numerous times. Breakfast - has gone downhill, items only luke warm, coffee m/c is a nightmare to use. Defo not worth the cost. Parking - now taken over by an independent company, so charged per day & per exit, previously only be per exit. Bus party arrived when we arrived back to go & get ready for dinner, had to wait 30mins to use the lifts.

The hotel was difficult to get to with the many one way streets surrounding it. An accident and road closure made it impossible. A fabulous HR lady really helped us and directed us through an alternative narrow lane. The room was spacious and clean. It was a pity the kitchen closed very early and so only pizzas were available to us when we wanted to eat.

The hotel was superb, very nice downstairs, the bar area and the breakfast area. Breakfast was outstanding there was so much choice. I liked the security as you needed your room card to go on the lift. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the room was very hot and the air conditioning was clearly not working, thankfully we were only staying one night.

The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. We signed up for their app and we enjoyed a complimentary drink. The location was close to everything and I would choose this hotel on my next visit. We also took advantage of their buffet breakfast…well worth the money.

Room was spotless. Staff were very friendly. Great location for shops and the theatre. Lovely family room. Great breakfast. If we had one complaint it would be the price of the alcohol. £11 for a glass of wine is a bit excessive. We get that it's city prices and the hotel is of a high standard but that's just too pricey. We decided to go out rather than pay that price. We also spent the rest of the time in our room having bought a bottle of wine for a lot less money. We would've preferred to drink in the hotel but not at that price. Such a shame. None the less we enjoyed our stay.

The room was clean, had everything that we needed, complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate powder. Very comfortable and quiet to enjoy a good sleep.
