Wow, what an amazing time we had at the Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi! They were doing some touch-ups on the historical side of the hotel, but it didn't dampen our experience one bit. The historical vibe of the place is really charming and adds a special feel to the whole stay. But what really took our experience from good to great were the people who work there. Whether we were dining in the restaurant, relaxing by the pool, using the gym, or just asking the concierge for recommendations, the staff was always super professional and friendly. The housekeeping was also top-notch. If you're thinking of visiting Hanoi, we'd totally recommend the Sofitel Legend Metropole. We had a stellar stay and wouldn't think twice about giving it a solid five stars. Thumbs up to the team there for their hard work and making us feel so welcome!

Classic hotel with amazing staff and amenities to match . Treat yourself to a slice of 5 star Hà Nội history and take advantage of all that this Hotel has to offer. Coffee on the sidewalk, swim in the courtyard pool, cocktails at Angelina’s Bar, Việt Nam cuisine and a truly top shelf breakfast buffet. We’ll definitely return to stay !

Our stay at the Sofitel was incredible. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Hanoi! Convenient to the Old Quarter, the lake, and anywhere else you might want to go. The pool was luxurious, the gym was well equipped (and offered lime mint water!), and the staff went above and beyond.

Can't say enough good things about this Hotel. The attention to detail is exceptional all aimed at giving you a special experience. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The pool area and Gym are 1st class. Angelina's restaurant is a must have experience. Special call out to all the pool bar staff, particularly Mr Long and Ms Hang.

Beautiful historic hotel with rich history going back to 1901. Conveniently located close to Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Quarter... But beside those, you have to take taxi or Grab which is cheap: 2,3 USD or Euros. I love everything about the hotel: the staff gave excellent service, always make you feel VIP,, Rooms are clean, beds are very white and comfy( top notch). Baths feature Balmain soap and shampoo. Glass bottled water. Everything yells high class. Would highly recommend if you can afford while in Hanoi.

If you want a luxurious place to stay in Hanoi, The Sofitel Metropole Hotel should be at the top of your list. Built in 1901, it retains echoes of the French colonial era. The service was excellent throughout; from the reception to the breakfast area, and our favourite, the pool bar! Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with a smart TV that allowed us to connect to various services such as Netflix and You Tube. One minor point to note for visitors from the UK - the power point accept UK plugs without an adaptor, which is very handy indeed! This was our second visit to Hanoi. We stayed here for 7 days this trip and we were very sad to leave! Thank you to the all the staff at the Metropole; thank you Hanoi and thank you Vietnam. We will definitely be returning.

Check in was amazing! We arrived at 1:30 AM and the staff could not have been more friendly. Our “butler” greeted us with champagne. The hotel is beautiful, clean and our room was spacious with every amenity you can think of!

What a lovely hotel. Very well set out and clean. The staff have all been amazing; welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. Whatever you need they will accommodate. The rooms are light filled and spacious. Had such a great nights sleep, with wonderful blockout blinds. The bathrooms are well laid out with plenty of storage. Tracy (the front office manager) went above and beyond. We were very impressed. You can see why the hotel runs so well. Front of house staff Yen was so lovely and helpful. This is a fantastic hotel, we will be back to stay again.

Above all, I would say that the hotel staff is fabulous. They are kind, attentive, friendly, and could not have been more welcoming. The only issue that we had was concerning the park next to our hotel room that was blasting music day and night. After traveling over 20 hours, it would’ve been nice to have been able to get a good night sleep. I will also note that there were a lot of Scaffolding and miscellaneous extra hotel stuff that was stacked outside of our window of the bathroom. I thought that was unprofessional and would have preferred not to have had to look at it.

The hotel is magnificent. The room was gorgeous, very comfortable bed, quiet, and spacious. The staff were all amazing, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The restaurants all had a beautiful atmosphere and outstanding food and service. The Club Lounge was very nice, with excellent food and service. The only downside is it’s very expensive, but you get what you pay for.

High price for a reason ... clean, quiet, and really good PROFESSIONAL STAFF. They are always looking out for you. I had my room on "Do Not Disturb" for four days and they called to check up. Also I asked for taxi thinking hotel prices are worse. They called taxi and made sure the standard rate was given. If I had used a taxi by myself, price would have been doubled.

Hotel was very nice. Staff could do better: we ate dinner in Spice Garden?? A completely uncouth woman (not an American like me) answered her EXTREMELY loud phone four or five times and spoke in high volume on her calls. Staff should have reprimanded her. My wife and I were walking the corridor from room 133 and a front desk representative was assisting a couple to their room, while speaking on her phone and walking two/three across in the hallway, forcing my wife and me to duck out of her way so her group could pass. Completely crass and unacceptable behavior

This has to be one of our favourite hotels ever. From the personal welcome by Hoa, to the staff remembering us from being the last guests before covid lock down, to the amazing Ms. Bonng at the Spa, all the staff are so wonderful. The location in the Old Quarter is perfect, you escape the hectic pace outside and arrive into a serene environment which seems a million miles away from the hubbub outside. So perfect for exploring the city. As for the food and drink all the restaurants and bars we tried were superb.

Very nice and historic hotel in very good condition. I stayed in the old historic wing and did not regret that decision. There were two incidents in which privacy and communication was a problem but overall glad to have had the chance to stay there. Breakfast was excellent and includes their famous egg coffee if you ask.

The Metropole exceeds all expectations! We loved our stay! Our room was comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed meals at Angelina and the Bamboo bar. Breakfast was excellent. The bunker historical tour was so good; and our guide explained the storied history and the significance of the Metropole, bringing it to life for us. Lastly, the staff is exceptional and friendly. Literally, every single employee we encountered was fantastic.

Breakfast by the pool is excellent. Perfect poached eggs and lots of Vietnamese and Western choices. All fresh with staff very attentive.
