Exceptionally good location for travellers close to the Bus & Rail station. Initial flight of steps from entrance to reception which can be an issue for guests with mobility issues but lift from thereon. Rooms seem to have undergone refurbishment since a previous visit, pleased with my room.

Ok Nothing special. Staff looked disinterested and not very knowledgeable on local area. Probably better places to stay locally and for less money. No life in the place wifh a bar that was closed.

Disappointed that the lounge bar wasn’t manned, had to walk round to the other bar which wasn’t exactly the kind of place I would have taken my wife

No hot water at any time. The pounding beat of the adjacent nightclub didn’t stop until 2am. The towel ring fell off the wall at first contact. The soap dispenser in the bath was empty and fell off the wall at first contact. The laminate flooring was the cheapest imaginable and moved/creaked with every footstep on it. The cabinet/desk appeared to have a drawer completely missing. No on-site parking. No breakfast. All in all it was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in since I was backpacking in third world countries.

It is very basic but does what it says on the tin. The heating was on & there was plenty of hot water in the showers. There is a pool table in the hotel & a bar next door to the hotel. It is right in the centre of the city & only two minutes walk from the railway station. It ticks most boxes for me.

The bath room was very dirty. The shower was not useable since it went everywhere and the water was very cold. The shower tray had a crack in it. The room just stunk very bad and the bed sheets was covered in stains. The electric kept of flicking on and off and the neighbours were very noisy. Didn’t sleep well at all.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! BED BUGS we arrived at the property at around half 6 on the 14/02 we checked in and went straight out for food and didn’t come back until 11pm ish. We had a shower got in bed and around 20 mins later I felt something crawl on me so my boyfriend checked and it was a bed bug in my hair!!! The man at the desk said there been other people also complaining about BED BUGS AND YET ITS STILL OPEN!!! It needs shutting down all our clothes and everything all have to be binned and burned. There was no availability in any hotel in hull and we had to travel back at 1am to leicester to home.

On check-in there was a very rude woman trying to attract the attention of the receptionist to complain about so called 'bed bug' which probably didn't exsist because she said they were in the room not on the bed. The receptionist was calm and continued to deal with us, actions that the rude woman accused of being ignored. We had no such experience. The bed was clean with fresh bedding, the floor, not carpetted but laminated was not crawling with anything. The facilities were perfect for our purposes though the shower curtain could have done with a wash the rest of the room was lovely. Spacious, comfortable a welcome place to rest our weary heads. The staff were friendly helpful and caring. We'd stay again. Thank you.

The radiators were bouncing, the hot water was plentiful. The bed linen was clean and fresh. Decor was tired in the room and bathroom, but it was clean. The tea cups were chipped - but I had my own. It could get a little noisy in the corridors in the evenings but settled down by half nine ish. The receptionist, Johnathan, was friendly & helpful. Thank you

Wish someone had told me it was a hotel where the local prostitutes go. People coming and going at all hours, the noise from the road and coldness and dampness of the room kept me awake all night. I was an alone and I felt unsafe so I popped a chair up against the door as the lock didn’t work properly. The staff were friendly and the sheets clean enough but it wasn’t enough to change my overall experience.

Good price for a large well spaced out room with excellent access to Hull City Centre. Some may find the mattress a bit hard, and the toilet is a bit cramped, but generally well kept. Exceedingly helpful staff helped retrieve my toiletries after I forgot to pack them too!

I am in Hull at Gilson hotel and the receptionist asked me my bank account card and he keeps all dates because I paid my holiday in your website. It's a first time for me that find unusual procedure. Excellent staff and friendly welcome. Very tired and basic room but for what we paid was fair value. Central location and near Hull Connexin Arena so perfect for what we needed for the night.
