I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was informed that guests with tattoos are not allowed to use the spa or gym facilities. This policy was not disclosed at any point during booking or in my confirmation, and it left me feeling singled out and unwelcome as an international tourist. As a result, I was unable to comfortably use the spa or gym, which were a major reason I chose this property. The experience felt discriminatory and created constant discomfort during my stay. To make matters worse, I was also overcharged for room service. Overall, the lack of transparency, unfair treatment, and billing issues made this stay far below expectations. Simple the best hotel in the world! The hot springs are a spiritual experience and the reason I will always revisit this place for the rest of my life. Great location right if the subway and only a 30 minute walk from Kyoto station and downtown Kyoto. For families, this hotel cannot be beat and everyone in my party loved it there. The place was fully booked, but you won’t even notice because the property is so evenly spaced out. The beds were amazing and the bathrooms were simply the best bathrooms I ever seen in a hotel or home. I plan on remodeling my home soon and will draw inspiration from this hotel’s layout. In the morning I loved to stroll through the garden and wait till my family woke up. The only thing that needs improvement is the gym, which I would rate an 8 out of 10. We took day trips to see the monkey kingdom and deer at Nara, both unforgettable experiences!! I want to write an entire essay on why this hotel is the best in the world but I’ll leave it up for you to decide. Best decision I ever made!!

Lo único malo fue que al llegar una de nuestras habitaciones apestaba terriblemente a una mezcla de suciedad y curry pero inmediatamente nos cambiaron esa habitación. If there is 6 star category to rate hotels, this hotel deserves it. The customer service just exceeds anyone’s expectation. No need for you to wait in line to ask questions to the receptionist. There are many hotel staff working at lobby to ask your needs. The room is very spacious with oversized veranda. The Spa and hot springs are must. The cafe Mayfair offers great service and selection of delicacies.

初めて利用致しました。京都駅での荷物のホテルへの送付とチェックアウト後の駅への送付と受け取りは、とても良いサービスです。荷物を持たず、観光をすることができるので大変に助かりました。部屋も綺麗、清潔でした。大浴場、露天風呂は秀逸。床暖房でとても心地よい施設です。小川治兵衛による葵殿庭園、佳水園庭園も、屋上庭園も散策するにはとても良い雰囲気です。朝食ブッフェも種類が豊富で美味しく申し分ありません。施設やサービスが素晴らしかった中、唯一残念だったのはホテルスタッフが事務的で笑顔が無かったことです。他方、大浴場のご担当はとても気が付く方で、京都駅の荷物受渡しスタッフも自然な笑顔が印象的だった一方、ホテルの顔とも云えるフロントスタッフやブッフェのスタッフは沢山のお客様対応で多忙だったと拝察しますが、自然な笑顔が欲しかったところです。

This is definitely a higher end hotel, but it is still "affordable". The location is excellent and quiet. It is not in the middle of shopping and dining, but many shrines and temples are within walking distance. A subway station is only 2 minutes from the hotel, so you can go anywhere. There is also a hotel shuttle to drop you off at a couple of locations, but pick up is only from Kyoto station - about every 30 minutes. The breakfast option is outstanding and you should try it. The onsen is very very nice. We paid for the "view" but we ended up using very little of the "view" because we were out all day in the city already, and there were "views" everywhere already. But a room with a view does have a small balcony so if you like that, it is worth it. I will stay there again for sure.
