Our room was immaculately clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive (the impression was that they really care about their guests experience). Relaxing in the leopard bar and listening to the jazz saxophonist while watching the bar staff make cocktails was like stepping back in time. The hotel is ideally situated near many interesting places to visit.

This hotel is definitely old school - in a positive way! The staff from the moment you arrive are all about taking care of you. The staff is friendly and respectful. The room is European small, but comfortable. The bar and dining room are excellent, the mixologist is fantastic.

Lovely experience! It can be exhausting running around London, the Montague’s many amenities and very helpful staff kept us rested, fit and fed for an entire week. The staff was excellent with last minute requests and pets.

Can pop over to Russell Square for pleasant morning coffee etc. Excellent dining and bar. Didn't go to the Beach Bar (we're from California) but a cute idea.

The Montague on the Gardens was simply wonderful from start to finish. From the greetings (and assistance with our luggage) when we arrived to afternoon tea, many hours spent in the Leopard (Cougar) bar sipping delicious cocktails, and a clean, comfortable room with robes, slippers and a turn-down service, to arranging cabs for our departure, the staff were welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable and attentive. And, the location is unbeatable. Literally next door to the British Museum and steps from Covent Garden, Chinatown, the West End and the tube, the Montague on the Gardens offers amazing access to everything London has to offer.

We had an amazing 2 night stay rooms had everything you needed and lovely finishing touches like biscuits and chocolate left for us each evening. Staff went above and beyond highly recommend. The Leopard bar was beautifully decorated too. Within walking distance to lots of places and tube stations so easy to get around

Exceptional service from every area. This made our trip to London extra special. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Rooms were spotless, lovely touches in the bathroom and in arrival. We went out in the evening and they made up the sofa bed for us - a lovely surprise when we got back.

Location is absolutely amazing. Staff were excellent, always friendly, smiling and accommodating. Corridors had a musty smell and the bathroom was like a box with one tiny sink!

Lovely hotel which is very close to both Russell Sq underground, and British Museum which made it most convenient for our itinerary. The room was small and lighting was a bit confusing to figure out - minor issues. The hotel staff were great, the English Breakfast a great start to each morning, and the Leopard Bar a gray end to each day. Cleanliness was top notch which was a big plus for me. Would definitely recommend!

Great customer service. Very small room. Cruise ships have bigger rooms. Judging from pictures on the hotel web site never would guess room be so small. Found dirty (hair) in shower when we checked in. Location of hotel a good 30 min walk to tourists areas.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in with a cozy duvet and comfortable pillows. However, the room was very tiny for the price. I had no extra space to place my suitcase and could not easily get around to the other side of the bed because of where I had to place it so I could open it. There was one bottle of milk for my coffee upon arrival, but after that, I was told to ask the supervisor. There was no fridge (again, considering the price of the room), so I could not store any food. There was only one pack of coffee in the room. I had to ask for more. The concierge forgot my wakeup call for a morning when it was important I get up early. Yes, I could have used my phone alarm. However, he forgot. I could adjust the room temperature easily. Sometimes the concierges seemed not too interested in helping. Other times, like the morning I left, they were both very helpful.

The staff were excellent and so friendly, and the breakfast was so good! My only problem was the creaking floor overhead in our bedroom. The occupants started moving about from 5am and so that put an end to a very comfortable sleep!

The windows have two panes, which blocks cold, moisture, and noise, and the heating/cooling system is nearly silent, so the rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The bed was soft with luxurious linens. Between these things, we slept very well. All that said, the most notable aspect of the hotel was the service we received. For example, we arrived about 15 minutes past check-time, but our room wasn't ready yet. So, they offered us tea, coffee, or something from the bar while we waited. We asked for tea, and they brought each of my wife and I an entire pot! After another 15 minutes, they told us the room was ready, and when we went up, our bags were already there! We felt like royalty all during our entirely too short stay.

A nice old fashioned hotel with a doorman, deep seats in the lobby, and an old timey bar. Modernized attractive bathroom. Housekeeping seems a bit spaced out but mostly fine, and the bar and restaurant play terrible music, except when there is rather nice live jazz. A little taken aback by the £15 daily “optional” service charge, aka tip for the staff. I’m happy for the staff to be well compensated, but would prefer to have a higher room charge, outright, than have this added on.

The hotel tried charging us an undisclosed fee of 15 pounds per night (x4). I protested and tipped the maid separately. The room we got was very small and the single window faced directly into a brick wall. Not very elegant for a hotel that was considerably more expensive than other options. The condition of the room can best be described bed as faded glory (and with a hole in the floor under the carpeting at the foot of the bed). Great location.

Turn down service, chocolates on the bed, just a wonderful experience. The leopard bar was cozy and the jazz saxophonist terrific. Restaurant looked top notch but did not eat there. This is my London hotel!

I had a wonderful stay at The Montague On The Gardens. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe, and the accommodations exceeded my expectations. The Montague is centrally located to access all the tourist sights or is a quick bus ride to anywhere you want to go. I highly recommend The Montague On The Gardens.

The hotel is the quintessential classic British hotel. Charming decor, attentive and friendly staff, and immaculately clean and well kept. The location can’t be beat - it’s directly across from the British Museum, a short walk to Coventry Garden and a quick walk through Russell Square to the Underground. Definitely a wonderful place to stay!

The Montague on the Gardens was simply wonderful from start to finish. From the greetings (and assistance with our luggage) when we arrived to afternoon tea, many hours spent in the Leopard (Cougar) bar sipping delicious cocktails, and a clean, comfortable room with robes, slippers and a turn-down service, to arranging cabs for our departure, the staff were welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable and attentive. And, the location is unbeatable. Literally next door to the British Museum and steps from Covent Garden, Chinatown, the West End and the tube, the Montague on the Gardens offers amazing access to everything London has to offer.

Our stay at the Montague was first rate. Check-in was the most pleasant ever. Every staff member was courteous and professional. The room was a VIP upgrade to a suite. Turn down service, chocolates on the bed, just a wonderful experience. The leopard bar was cozy and the jazz saxophonist terrific. Restaurant looked top notch but did not eat there. This is my London hotel!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Montague and were impressed by the attentive, friendly service. There were many choices for breakfast which was served in a beautiful dining area. We enjoyed the Leopard Bar and the dinner option one night. Both were excellent in their service, drink and food choices. The hotel is clean, well decorated with a comfortable common room. We would love to come back and stay again!

Service was excellent! The entire staff is friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at the Blue Door Bistro and went to the Leopard Bar several times. The food was good, and the drinks were excellent. This is a charming little hotel and we will return in the future!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel - 5 nights between Christmas and New Years. The hotel staff is wonderful- they are warm, welcoming and helpful (even mailing my husband’s forgotten hat back). Everything from our room, afternoon tea, late evening g in the bar and breakfast (husband loved kippers every day) were great. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay - every staff member super friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that they separate full English breakfast buffet from fruit and rolls and you were not supposed to take from both. That was a bit strange.
