Best Western Mornington Hotel Hyde Park

The room was small and in no way an executive room. Was given 407, right next to the lift. The shower was stuck on a hot temperature, which was mentioned to reception. Staff were friendly enough, place was clean, despite building works happening in next door building, which could be heard from 9 am and which wasn’t mentioned when booking.

I would stay at the Morningside again. The staff were incredible. They made *every* effort to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast exceeded expectations. My only grumble is with the current construction in the adjacent property. International travelers who are looking to sleep in after 8am will want to book an alternative hotel for at least the next 12 months.

The rooms AC/heater was not working. Neither was the main elevator. Location and price were good. I’d you can afford something better. I would go for that. This left a decent amount left to be desired.

Nice location away from the hustle and bustle yet within walking distance from Kensington and Hyde Parks and several restaurants - I have to mention The Swan - I liked it so much I was there three days in a row! The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was the best I had in a long time, and I enjoyed a drink at the bar in the library several time. It’s a quaint small hotel that delivers!

Arrived and was told there’s no restaurant, gym is not a gym, toilet didn’t flush properly, sink wouldn’t drain and the air con was not working to heat the room! Usless room! Room was tired with damaged wall paper and marks everywhere

We arrived at the hotel to discover that they were having maintenance work done and that they had booked us into a neighbouring hotel instead. I was surprised that they had not communicated anything about this before we arrived. Only saw the foyer, but it looked pretty nice.

The Best Western Mornington Hotel near Hyde Park was fantastic! Abz and Romina are both such delights! The room was a tad cold but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a space heater. 10/10 would recommend staying here if you're in London for a short trip.

Very friendly staff and conveniently located to Hop-on buss stop, and restorant and Hyde park. Hotel under renovation and a shower cold water and TV not working. Had to be evacuated do to fire alarm. Will stay again as staff was very helpful and friendly hope fully next time construction is over and some of the shortcomings are resolved

Extremely tiny uncomfortable rooms, difficulty to move luggage in narrow corridors and super small staircase. Air-condition/climate is controlled only by front desk staff. They turn off A/C at night and guests need to call if they're too hot.

Great location, nice staff. When we first checked in we were placed in a single room despite having booked a queen room. Room wasn’t the cleanest it could be- stains in the sink and some dirt on the floor. Breakfast needed to be replenished more- had to ask for more beans, sausages and black pudding.

I had not planned on posting pictures or complaining about the state of my room when I first entered it, as I genuinely only planned on showering and sleeping there, but if this review helps even one person avoid a bad experience, it'll be worth it. The floors hadn't been vacuumed in some time, with popcorn, buttons, string, toenails/ fingernails, dust, and various types of liter lining the carpet of the room, the paint on the wall looked atrocious and was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom, leaving bits of paint on the counter, the cups in the bathroom were dirty, and there was hair and mold in the shower. You can hear people entering and exiting their rooms at all hours of the day/ night, hear their conversations, and hear them walking across the floor. They claim the internet is secure, but it is actually open to everyone in the area, allowing anyone with unsavory intentions to watch what you're doing online. Their staff, which seem friendly at first meeting, make disparaging comments about your nationality and disability, and when you bring it to their attention, they threaten to sue you. Avoid at all costs.

Over all it’s not a bad hotel. The staff are all very nice and polite and the breakfast is great, However I did experience a few problems- The cold water was coming out hot and the shower did not heat up adequately for a proper shower. The room had had laminate flooring put down so every time you lent up the headboard the bed slipped across the floor. Due to the flooring their was a lot of noise from all the rooms around you so not much sleep, The rooms are very tired and in need of a make over, the bathroom was way too small. I think quantity of rooms has out wade comfort I would have paid more for a bigger room. Also one night I I scratched my leg causing it to bleed (NOT THE HOTELS FAULT) but mine, this led to blood been on the duvet, the room was cleaned the next day but the clearly blood stained duvet cover was not replaced, a bit disappointing.

Small but cozy room. Comfortable bed and bedding. Clean and quiet. Good location. Near Paddington Station. Many restaurants close by. Large and well decorated lobby area with lots of seating. Good water pressure in the shower. I was only here for one night between cities, so did not try most of the hotel amenities.

The hotel is in a nice area, easy to get around, and walkable to restaurants and bars. The reception and bar area are nice. The rooms need some attention. The chair in my room had visible stains all over, the pillow smelled like mildew, and the room was absolutely freezing. I didn't have a thermometer, but I am guessing high 50F/low 60F degrees. I called to ask them to fix it twice. The first time the woman told me she would fix the temp, but nothing happened. The second time the man told me there was no way to change the temp because it's central heating and brought me a space heater that was covered in dust with a broken wheel so it was not stable--pretty big fire risk.

Unclean, dusty and with dysfunctional heating And shower. The staff also didn’t apply the Hotels.com offers I was entitled to (upgrade, reduction on consumptions, etc.)

The staff where lovely! Really helpful. Unfortunately our bed had dirty pillow cases. This was sorted straight away.

I had a room on the 2nd floor. This is my second stay. The room was small but perfectly adequate. When I arrived the room was very warm so I turned the radiator down a little. One thing I noticed was how clean it was. So much so I started looking for dirt. I couldn’t find any! Very impressed. Bed was comfortable and room quiet. Easy walk to Paddington station even with 3 bags.

Room on top floor was too small for a double ,no room for bedside tables and no room to get into bed on one side.The shower was pathetic . The breakfast and staff were excellent .

The room was decent; not as spacious as U.S. hotels, but perfectly fine by city standards. The walls are a bit thin, so you might hear your neighbors, but overall it was a comfortable stay. I’d definitely stay here again for the convenience alone. The only suggestion I have is I wish they would improve their internet speeds.

For a last minute hotel booking between my inbound international flight and my next day train, the hotel did the job. I have just two comments: 1. The wifi did not reach my room in the basement, which meant that I burned through roaming data to do things on my phone. 2. Basement rooms are so horrible, and i did not like the room at all. I know that it is putting a space to use, but I just don’t like horrid below street rooms.

I liked the location and it's a neat building but it's rather convoluted to get to your room. The bathroom was quite small and I had to step over a big block to get in and out. Big tripping hazard. As others have stated, the walls and floors are thin and you hear every creak of the floor above you. I also heard my neighbor's movements. And I am sure they heard me. There was also a bit of noise from the neighboring pub. Running the AC helped drown out some of the noises.

It was fine. The star was very helpful. The room was pretty tiny. No AC so I had to keep the window open and the pub outside was somewhat noisy.

Pros: very walkable distant from the Paddington station to the hotel, and another train line which I forgot the name, excellent breakfast buffet, the areas surrounding the hotel has plenty of food choices, and Hyde Park is literally next door. Cons: first hotel I ever stayed at that the A/C went out... the staff offered a fan so it helped but then... No A/C can be a bit uncomfortable for a lot of peeps, luckily I'm from a hotter environment usually.

Had a good stay. Check in was quick. Breakfast was good with lots of options. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Areas not so good. Room was right next to lift so noisy when people waiting for lift. Room very small and view from window was a wall with large extraction pipe from kitchen in basement. Good location for Hyde Park and only couple of minute walk to Lancaster Gate BUT for 3 night we were there it was shut every evening and on our final morning due to lack of staff

We had a great stay. Fred on reception was a delight and even called our room to check our room was ok for us. Breakfast was ok, could have been hotter but a good choice of different food. The night porter Leon(?) was an absolute angel, we came back from a concert in Hyde Park and he was so lovely and helpful. All in all great hotel fab locations easy 20minute walk to Oxford Street

A travellers nightmare come true - The hotel cancelled my booking without informing me. I arrived at the hotel on my check-in date to find out that they cancelled my booking and had no rooms, and I needed to find alternative accommodation for myself last minute. Response by the hotel and the manager, Hugo Ferreira, was entirely incompetent, unhelpful, and inconsiderate. Would never consider Mornington Hotels again after this dreadful experience.

This is our 3rd stay at the hotel, our check in on Saturday,upgraded room, breakfast were fab. However on Sunday was the check in for my parents and friends was terrible they had one person on the desk check in, no rooms were ready as they had only one maid trying to clean all the rooms eventually my parents got their rooms, our friends got theirs at 3.45 bearing in mind we had a Ladies evening event and needed to be ready and there for 5pm! Lady who was serving on the bar area was very rude to my husband and refused to serve him also took away the bell to ring for service. Will probably be looking for somewhere else in the future when we return to London.

Great hotel for our 4 night stay in the city. Close to Lancaster Gate station. Very friendly and helpful staff,comfortable room and good choice for breakfast.

Check in very slow and room wasn’t ready at 2pm. One of the reception staff looked bored and uninterested. The other one was fine.

No complaints with the hotel once we checked in. We arrived at 12 noon to be advised the hotel had overbooked and would convey us to their sister hotel 25 minutes away by taxi. Whilst discussing at reception we discovered the majority of clients had the same issue. We were eventually told we could have the room we booked after wasting 30 minutes discussing. We had booked for a nearby event which was walking distance and the sister hotel was not convenient. Later that evening clients were arriving and being told the hotel had overbooked rooms. Would never book the hotel or with Best Western again following the hassle to check in. A shame as this was the only issue with the hotel.

Although there was construction right outside the entrance almost that didn't really bother me. The room was not the best but for 3 days stay was acceptable the bathroom was problematic you had to wait for the water to get hot or cold more than 15 mins and the hole in the shower wasn't taking the water down they assured me they ll fix it never happened also the hairdryer on the room was overheating after 2 secs and going off they said they ll change it never did. Also the bed had a thing hanging from it which was an accident ready to happen especially for a kid in the room like me that I went with my 9 year old daughter. The cleaners were not replacing the items for coffee etc in the room I had to ask for it also I had to ask for a second hair towel since we were two people in the room.....The biggest issue though was the rudeness of some employees they were helping ofc and then you could hear them telling you off to their colleagues also the way they looked at you because you asked for help for things that should be working. That was the worst made me feel a bit unwelcomed. Nobody was saying goodmorning or goodnight when you were passing from reception which I found a bit rude and ignorant. The room itself although with problems was livable the feeling though from the staff not everybody wasn't good. Bfast was ok the staff there polite and helpful. The best was the location especially for it's price. I don't know if I would chose again but ok....

Nice property close to Lancaster Gate tube , on a quiet residential street away from main road. Friendly welcome and attentive staff. Nice range of Rituals toiletries available came as a nice surprise . Will definitely use for regular trips.

The Location, a short walk from Kensington Gardens, and the staff were amazing. There’s a Tube Station and city bus stop directly across from the gate to the gardens. I was able to catch a bus to Victoria Station, to see Wicked, at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. I will definitely return to this hotel.

Great location convenient to Paddington, Bond St, and Oxford St

This was a perfect location! Hotel staff is wonderful, close to great metro stations, easy to make it from the aiport via paddington station. We could roll our suitcases to the hotel, streets allow it. The hotel breakfast is the best! Hot breakfast and they prepare wathever you want from the menu. The room was small but accomodated a small extra bed for our daughter. It had all you needed! Internet wssnt the greatest though, disconnected constantly but that wanst a problem for us. Overall, loved our stay here so much!

Clean, comfortable and perfect hotel if spending some days in London and you want to visit different touristic places. Really close to Hyde Park and underground station, which basically gets you connected to any place.

Only had one night but wish it was longer. Great location, round the corner from the park. Staff really friendly and a courtesy call checking room was ok, which dose make a difference. Breakfast was superb. look forward to booking here again x

The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The hotel was in great location near Hyde Park, which made seeing nearby sights simple to walk to. The breakfast option is highly recommended, as it was a great way to start the day.

The metro is nearby, their breakfast is fabulous (smoked salmon, cheese, croissants, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice and more), staff is friendly. Our room was clean and quiet.
