Great location a block away from the South Kensington tube station. But beware the hotel has no AC, so if London is experiencing a summer heat wave, this hotel will provide no respite. Also no lifts, vending, or ice machine. There was a fridge in the room, however.

Very convenient location for the Royal Albert Hall and the Kensington museums, clean and good size. But there are plenty of stairs and no lift.

Lovely building, only a short walk from the tube station. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. Doesn't have breakfast, but there's a great Georgian restaurant downstairs, and lots of places nearby to eat. The road outside can be a bit noisy

Chose this hotel due to the close proximity to the tube. It’s a place to sleep to say the least. Not accessible (all stairs not elevators)

Excellent location for museums, parks and plenty of local choice for restaurants, cafes and shops. Really close to South Kensington underground Hotel itself was clean, but 'tired' and in need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom. The reception staff were polite and helpful. No lift.

Great location. A few minutes walk from the underground and museums. Very polite, cooperative and helpful staff on reception. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Pretty quite and very warm room with clean and cosy beds, small fridge and a kettle. A microwave was provided by a request for an additional small charge, but it was modern, clean and 100% useful for us as we made breakfast in it. Had an old fashioned and slightly damaged window which caused a draft, but it was not a problem as the heating was really good even when outside was -1C. The georgian restaurant on the ground floor provides a great service and amazing food for a reasonable price. Definitely recommend to stay here for those who wants to visit museums.

Arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm to check in. Was asked for photo I d which I was not aware was required. No mention on any email when booking. Luckily my wife had hers. No hot water in the room. Tv had no terrestrial channels working. Just apps. Clean laundry and bedding. Cheap hotel however no hot water is not acceptable

Really enjoyed my stay at Brompton Hotel. Fabulous location a couple of steps from South Kensington station. The reception staff member was very helpful and the room was spotless and very cosy with everything you could need eg tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge etc and a smart refurbished bathroom. Very central, great for using tube to travel around London. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Great value for area of London. At this price I wasn’t expecting a high end hotel room, for us it was simply a base to sleep in. There are somethings, that also are minor, should really be standard in a hotel room of any price. The bedroom was fine, dated but no issues. What needs attention is the bathroom, the tile grouting and bath seals were old and dirty. The shower screen wouldn’t stay in position, so I had to put a wash cloth underneath to keep it in position. The shower screen again, dirty, in desperate need of replacement. These small details really let the room down. Aside from this, the bedroom, as I have previously stated, old curtains, old mismatched furniture, basic issues but would really make a difference to the quality of the room

This so-called "hotel" of a Dickensian quality is in fact a filthy establishment that lacks basic hospitality features. Filthy carpets, iron-burnt upholstery, lack of soap in the bathroom, etc. Most probably a dodgy outlet for different kind of services than the ones it advertises for.

The room was filthy - i mean filthy, black mould on the walls and celling, grouting missing, cracked tiles and bath. The bedding was an extremely thin blanket (no duvet) during a cold snap in November - the bed spread was dirty. The furniture was mismatched and old. We were bitten throughout the night. The staff were pleasant and the location was great but very old, tired and dirty

I wasn't expecting much at the price in London, but wifi that doesn't keep dropping out, and, most importantly, hot water in the bathroom are basic requirements these days. There is far more that I could say, but suffice that I will pay more for a better standard in future. Before the owners come back and say that i didn't report any issues, I had to leave early for a hospital appointment, and nobody was about to speak to at that time of the morning

This hotel is excllnt valu - situated right in the Museum district and 2 mins from South Kensington Station. Ther is no lift so not for those who struggle with stairs. Dadly there was one fixable problem that would stop me re using it. The room absolutely stank of mildew/mould. I hope the propeerty sees this and is able to fix it as iw ould be happy to use again on my many trips to London.

We only stayed one night and the staff were very friendly. The room was nice but let down by not having any hot water when we tried to use the shower in the morning. Can’t recommend it for this reason as it is fundamental

Pleasant hotel in walking distance to local museums and tube station. Comfy beds and clean rooms. Struggles to get in shower as shower screen fixed and left very little room to get in, then no hot water in shower. Strangely the sink and bath taps were hot but no matter how long you run shower for, no hot water. Heating in room was on full all night, so had to sleep with window open, with traffic noise keeping us awake until 1am. Ok for a one night stay, but couldn’t have done another sleepless night and no shower.

Nice hotel with central location very close to the tube. Room was nice, but a bit worn down in general. The room had safe, bathtub, and a refrigerator.

Chose this as a budget stay and it surpassed our expectations. Large triple room, comfy bed. Very convenient location. Would stay here again.

Great location, comfortable room

The location near the South Kensington tube station was great. The hotel staff were friendly. The WiFi was not very strong. The hotel rooms were a bit tired and there was no lift. But still a great place to stay.

Last minute booking and the family room was perfect for what we needed. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean and quiet.

Good location but expensive for a very basic, small room. Nice clean sheets, but tired decor. Lots of stairs! Fine for one night after a concert but otherwise not a hotel you would spend anytime in. The view from our room was a brick wall!

Large family room with three single bwds and rhen interconnecting room with a double bed. Bathroom well presented and functioned well, good water pressure despite being on top floor. Beds were quute hard, not the moat comfortable, however i did manage to get comfortable enough to sleep. Haolened to be there during a storm and the windows were letting a bit of a breeze in, however, they are old buildings and i spose thats to be expected. Tea and coffee making facilities provided, as well as towels. Only stayed for one night but i would book tjere again if the need arose. Cheap and cheerful for location!! (1 minute walk from the natural hostory museum, 30 seconds from south kensington tube station. Very delicious sweedish bakery across rhe road).

It was good. Convenient for RAH. A lot of stairs though (on 4the floor - no lift). Room was hot too (fan helped). Quiet.

This was the worst stay I have ever had. First off, the property is in awful condition. The carpet is stained everywhere. The room smelled like sewage, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly and the shower would either be boiling or water would stop running during my shower. I had to use water from the sink to rinse off… Also, checkin was highly unpleasant and the staff was rude. They tried to rip me off for an early check-in after asking if they could accommodate or kelp my luggage (the property replied it was possible). When I arrived at 11am, they asked me 50£ for the early check in (which is almost a full day at the rate I had booked). When I refused, they told me to come back in 2h and it would be fine (which was still earlier than the regular check in). It felt like they wanted to rip me off. Also the luggage area is completely open, unlocked and away from the reception. They couldn’t provide any guarantees if I left my stuff there, so I have no choice but to carry around my work stuff, jewelry and valuables until I came back. Overall this place is absolutely terrible and needs a massive upgrade. I love South Kensington, but I have never had such a bad stay anywhere I’ve travelled.

As one of the cheaper properties for our overnight stay in London I wasn’t expecting much. We just needed a bed for the night. And that was certainly what we got. The greeting from the receptionist was not the friendliest I’ve had in a hotel. I’d go as far to say he was not suited for the hospitality sector at all. After filling in more forms and having my card swiped for “incidentals” we made it to our room and the minute we walked in noticed the ceiling light was barely attached. We informed the receptionist of this and just about had a response of a grunt. The bathroom was ok. Nearly every floor tile was cracked and the toilet was almost impossible to flush without some sort of hand/arm contortion. The 4 beds that were in our room were comfy and the bedding was clean. It was somewhere to lay our heads for the night. Would I go back? An absolute no. Not unless they do a full refurb. Oh, almost forget, it’s in a great location for the museums

Clean room and bathroom with cleaning service every day of my stay. Staff were very polite and understanding as usual taking care of my taxi to the office.Harry was very empathetic useful in that aspect.The cleaning staff and other reception staff were all very polite and hardworking, making one feel ar home 🏡

The hotel is in Chelsea which is a great area. Is is safe and close to great dinning and transportation. The hotel is very basic. If your needs are a place to sleep and rest, it is acceptable. There is no elevator and you will use the stairs. What makes the hotel nice is Harry the manager. He solves any question, or problem with ease. He goes out of his way to make sure your stay is a good experience!

Staff were friendly and helpful. I was only staying a night to visit a relative at the royal marsden hospital but staff were helpful and accommodating and said i could extend my stay if needed. They were caring and compassionate. The room was clean and quiet with a comfy bed. I could leave my luggage when i arrived early and go straight to the hospital. Thank you to the fabulous Harry on reception.

Stayed here a few times now. Always excellent value for money, in a great location and lovely staff. Thanks again Harry for looking after us

Good hotel, very convenient location 2 minutes from tube & a straight quick walk to the Natural History Museum / Science Musuem etc. Close to Hyde Park for Winter Wonderland. Room comfortable and had everything we needed and staff were lovely & very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again for weekend breaks

Found the Brompton Hotel ideal for a one night stay while visiting the Royal Albert Hall (RAH). The hotel is good value and in a very convenient location near South Kensington underground station, local amenities the museums and the RAH. Although the public interior areas of the hotel are in need of some TLC, my room was comfortable, very clean with everything needed for a base during a short stay. Check in was good and staff were friendly. I would definitely book again and I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable quality, good value hotel in the South Kensington area.

Well situated near South Kensington Station and a short walk to the Museums, also only 10 mins walk to the local Hospitals

The room was comfy and spacious. Hotel is very close to tube station which made commuting very easy. There were a few good dinning options nearby. Museums are all on walking distance.

Stayed 1 night whilst attending the RAH. Got a good price for a hotel in South Kensington. It is a period building that has not seen any renovation for some time.It has a 1970's bedsit vibe about it, with no communal areas or bar/restaurant. That all said for £70 it was more than adequate. The room was small but was clean and quiet. There is no air conditioning but the room did have a fan. It is located right by the underground station with shops bars and restaurants on the doorstep. 5 minute walk to the museums.

Much better than I was expecting for the price! Room was comfortable and spacious and included tea/coffee making facilities. View was disappointing, as it looked out the back, but room was quiet. Superb location for museums, parks, and the tube, and surrounded by lovely bakeries and cafés! Staff were friendly, too. Definitely on my list for a future visit.

Modest facilities/ modest PRICE! Very good value for money. I don\'t need to play at being a princess. I need clean sheets, hot water, a warm room and a roof that doesn\'t leak. The hotel is very well situated-close to South Ken tube, museums, etc. Lots of places to eat nearby. Fancy big French school very near- Embassy kids, etc. No unsavoury types allowed in area and good bakeries. It must be noted that there are no lifts- only an aversion to stairs or "need" for fancy public reception rooms would be a reason to look elsewhere.

The hotel was in a good area and the tube station was literally a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel was fine for what we needed it to be as we were up in London to attend a local hospital appointment and this was the closest hotel at a cheaper price. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We did say to them when we had finished our visit that the fridge would need to be check as the items we had left in there were warmer than when we had put them into the fridge and had put it up to its maximum level ! The gentleman behind the counter said that this would be looked into. We asked for a lower level room which was what we got over looking the road, but when the double glazed doors were closed, we hear very little traffic noise. The one downside was that despite turning the radiators off when we arrived as we noticed that they were on, the heat still carried on coming out, so we presumed they had an over-ride facility and that they were set to ocome on at certain times of the day. That being said we were in a more expensive area of London. There were breakfast facilities, although kind of onsite this was run independently of the hotel. We didn't eat here in the end, but a few doors up on the same side, was an excellent breakfast in La Brioche. This comes highly recommended. We did have a recently re-fitted bathroom which had been replaced to a good standard.
