The Kensington Hotel

Amazing stay in this wonderful hotel. Staff Was so warm and accommodating. Perfect location Beautiful gym Delicious food all day long Will come back!!

SW7 (South West London) is one of the best Post Codes in the entire city and country, lovely buildings / restaurants and plenty of historic sites to see so you expect the hotel to be on a par with it’s surroundings and for some parts it was: restaurant/ bar/ lobby area - all really nice. We’d stayed in the area on many occasions before but thought this time we would try The Kensington. Booked the std room - (which to be fair hadn’t done in any of the other previous hotel stays) but never checked the room square footage (or meterage as it was). The bathroom ( no joking) was less than 4sq metres - maybe closer to 3- probably the smallest bathroom I have ever had anywhere in the world. From the centre- I could literally touch any of the 4 walls without moving from my spot. I could touch the left side/ right / front and back all from the centre. The bedroom ( having moved from the first given room) was 13-15sqm, like a box and not value for money at £450/ night (in my mind). I didn’t particularly enjoy the stay but don’t get me wrong it is still a nice hotel. Special shout out to Lucian - very helpful. Checkin person in question- a little less so! Oh yes, don’t try and ask for a drink after 10:30pm (weekdays). Bar closes at this time.

Terrific service and the hotel is a nice mix of modern comfort and traditional upscale british elegance. Breakfast was excellent and the bar is delightful. Of all the many hotels in London I’ve stayed at this is a new favorite. I’ll be back for sure.

Fantastic service. Sylvio and daisy and all of the staff made this a 5 star experience. Beautiful, historic property with all of the modern amenities. Beautiful bar with great bartenders. Can’t wait to return.

From the moment we got to the property, we were treated by each staff with exceptional customer service. The hotel is in a wonderful and quiet area with a quick walk to the South Kensington tube. The room lacked drawer space but made up for it with a comfortable bed and bedding. They should warn about the use of American made hair dryers though. Despite having a converter plug, my hair dryer essentially was fried upon my first use. When in need of an iron/ironing board upon check in, the front desk staff sent someone up immediately with these items that we were able to use for the week. Thank you! A shout out to those who went over and above: Dining room: Levente, Adele (pm dining room manager, and Fernanda, and ALL concierges who gave amazing recommendations for dinners and helped with reservations. The Sky Garden was a hit. When making a special request of a grab and go breakfast for one of the morning's of our stay (we had an early bus tour and would miss the breakfast), Adele worked with us to arrange for a "to go" breakfast. Upon arrival at the front desk at 6:30 am, it was all set to travel (complete with hot tea, coffee, and pastries to go). The breakfast package was well worth the price with bountiful fruit, a pastry basket, and entree, along with juices and tea/coffee. Thank you, thank you, thank you for offering this exceptional property and stay. It was my first trip to London (not my husband's), and certainly not our last. We would HIGHLY recommend your property.

The Kensington is a lovely hotel with a wonderful staff. We had a twin room and the only complaint we had is that it was ridiculously tiny! We didn’t spend a ton of time in the room so it wasn’t a huge issue, however, for the cost a larger space is much preferred. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and pretty sitting area. The neighborhood is fantastic- wedged between 2 tube stations and there are a slew of restaurants and stores surrounding the hotel. South Kensington from is beautiful and quiet and within a short walk to Hyde Park. Overall, a great stay!

This is my second time staying at the Kensington. The staff was wonderful and they tried really hard to meet all my needs. They surprised me with a balloon, sparkling wine and a really good Victoria sponge cake. The bed was really comfortable and I received turned down service every night. Afternoon tea was wonderful and delicious. The only problem was one of the elevators’ buttons didn’t work for my floor. But other than that it was a lovely experience.

Great location, wonderfully decorated hotel and helpful staff. Small bathrooms yet the room had everything we needed.

The actual hotel lobby, lounge and restaurant are very good. Staff was supportive and friendly. However we stayed in a queen bedroom and it was subpar. The bathroom lighting is super dark, so you can't even see in the mirror to fix yourself to go out. The chromecast on the tv did not function well. It kept locking up. For a 5 star hotel, I would expect a better experience in the room.

Room was a joke - 108 - even the staff couldn’t believe that we were put in the smallest room in the hotel - like a dungeon - they moved us into a ‘better’ room. Paper thin walls let us hear the neighbor party until 1:45 am - we complained and the noise ended

Property was nice but room was unbelievably small and not decorated well. Sloping floor and couldn’t even open the door of bathroom without hitting toilet.

it's a nice hotel to stay at. Staff friendly and kind. The picture is misleading as many of the rooms are small and the bathrooms tiny. That's the only thing i find disappointing you do need too up grade the room. The food is very good.

My stay at The Kensington Hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff throughout the hotel were warm, attentive, and always ready to help, but I have to give special mention to Daniela at breakfast—her service was truly memorable and made every morning feel special. The hotel’s location is perfect, right in the heart of Kensington, close to museums, shops, and beautiful streets for walking. The design of the hotel is stunning—very British, elegant, and charming, with every corner feeling refined and welcoming. From the atmosphere to the personalized service, my experience exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend The Kensington to anyone looking for an authentic, luxurious London stay!

The Kensington Hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood near downtown London with easy access to the subway. The staff is excellent, special thanks to Boyan at the Reception, Diego and Laszlo at the K Bar.

The hotel offers a perfect stay in every respect but especially in the outstanding service that each and every employee offers a guest. The happiness of the staff members are reflected in their quality of service. I will definitely stay at this gem of a hotel again! Referring this to friends- absolutely!!!

Treated us like family, arrived having picked up food poisoning from the airline and the entire staff were so incredibly thoughtful and helpful. I was alone with my son and I knew we were in good hands. They helped me arrange medicine, a Dr and in room nurse to manage through. Every detail is thought of and worth a MUCH higher rate for what you receive staying here.

Fantastic staff got an early check in and very accommodating

We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Kensington. The room was great, the service was excellent. Can’t say enough good things about it. The location was also a positive. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else if we go back to London.

I have been staying at the Kensington for a few years now. The staff and property are what keep me coming back. The location between Gloucester and South Kensington make it very convenient.

Overall nice property but food and specially staff at restaurant is not at all friendly or educated or well mannered! First morning we went for breakfast at restaurant and there were hardly 3-4 people, i kept waiting for 15 minutes and 3-4 staff members passed by but not a single one greeted or gave menu or asked me for water. I had to say excuse me to couple of waiters and after that 1 lady came and first thing she asked whats your room number. 3rd went for afternoon tea and i told about my religious restriction for beef and waiter just simply said we can give you one extra vege sandwich, i asked is it possible to make in chicken she said no we dont do extra requests. Tea pot came luke warm and i asked for hot, waitress took another 10 minutes to change. It seems either they are not paid well or general manager or manager is not training right. Day staff at reception is also rude mannered but evening staff is great and welcoming. Not much of food choices and food is mediocre!

Charming hotel , great location . Breakfast was very overpriced so my advice would be to eat out as there are multiple cafes locally .
