Great we arrived and got early check in. The lift was broken so had to carry cases up two flights of stairs. No iron in the room so asked if one could be brought up.( had to do this twice with two different people and still no iron was brought to the room for the whole stay) The room didn’t have AC it was like an oven( standing fan blowing hot air) No coffee/or tea making facilities in the room. Very disappointed and had no sleep for the two nights we were there. Would not book this hotel again. Shame great location.

Could only check in online even though there with a staff member. No tea or coffee in the room. No air conditioning. Slow service at breakfast

The accessibility wasn’t too good, bring the luggage to the room was difficult because the elevator didn’t go every floor

Excellent location, right across from Paddington station, with good restaurants around and convenience stores. Staff is cordial and helpful. Bed is very comfortable and bathroom was a decent size and had the basic amenities. A couple of things of note: the hotel is not accessible for people with low mobility. There’s a lift but steps are unavoidable. I had a large checked bag and had difficulty carrying it around. Another important point, while it is not unusual for older buildings not to have aircon in the UK, the room got really warm at night, even with the central heating off. On the first floor, wing M, opening the window was an option but the street was extremely loud. I think it’s the back alley of a restaurant or something so midnight, one am, you’d hear very loud noises of things being dragged around and deliveries etc. Because of that I didn’t get as much rest I would’ve liked, despite the bed being comfortable. Check in and check out were seamless through their website.

A lovely quaint hotel fantastically located near Paddington station and Hyde Park. Perfect for our trip to Winter Wonderland. The staff were friendly, the rooms immaculately cleaned and the Victorian style bathrooms very cute. House keeping was also very good and changed our towels and made the bed. Sadly there are some cons. The lift was out of service (and from the reviews it sounds like this is a recurring problem, not a one off) and our room was located down what felt like a service passage behind the kitchen. This was made quite inconvenient when we arrived with suitcases because they had decided to stack tables and chairs in this narrow hallway for an event. So thanks for that. The “large” room is not very large, and not suitable for 2 people. There is a “wardrobe” that can hold exactly one coat, a single luggage rack, two small bed side tables and a windowsill. There are no other surfaces to put things on so the majority of our stuff ended up on the floor. We were quite sad to discover no in-room kettle. This is a basic facility provided by the worst premier inns. Instead your only option is the very expensive coffee place in the lobby. The free water bottles and refill station was a nice touch though. The room was also very cold in November, with a single pane window and a tiny radiator that did little to heat the room. This hotel is a tale of two halves. The lobby and dining areas are lovely and quite stylish. Describing the room as "basic" is a complement. It was miniscule with no space to hang your clothes. Worse is the labrynth of stairs that you must travel to get to your room once getting out of the lift. It may hold a certain charm for folks who like old buildings, but it is a unsafe nightmare for a person like me, who has a disability. Also, you have to walk through an outdoor bridge in the rain to get to the wing with your room. All of this would be fine and fair if there was some sort of description of the venue in the hotel details upon booking. Then, the customer would have the chance to make an informed decision about whether to book a stay. Instead, you are greeted by a hipper-than-thou clerk who impatiently explains the weird and winding journey you must take to get to your cell-size room. No where near worth the price.

A hotel with a sense of style which stands out from the usual 'see em cheap' options around Paddington. Judging by the fresh paint smell in our room it's still a work in progress. The vibe is a bit similar to 'the artists residence' chain; great beds, fabulous shower and lots of little design touches. Shame no coffee in the room; but instead there's a little pantry down the hallway with 'proper' coffee instead of your usual nescafe. Breakfast bar/lounge with it's outside terrace was a great bonus on a rare sunny London morning.

Cute small hotel with close proximity to Paddington Station. A bit quirky with crazy access to rooms - even using the elevator there are several stairs and fire doors to contend with. The small rooms are really small so not great if you have a lot of luggage. However I really lovely this hotel and there is a nice coffee bar in the entrance hall.

Clean, nice room. Cafe has good food. We’ve stayed here in the past. It’s super convenient to Paddington Station. Not even half a block. We love the location and cozy feel of the hotel. The lift was out of order so be aware there may be stairs to navigate with your bags

This place does NOT have air conditioning. Not sure how I missed that when booking but very important to know. They do have a fan and you can request a second. Room was very small and there was lipstick on my pillow - I assume from last guest. It was close to the tube station, however.

We had a very nice time at the pilgrm! The staff was very friendly, there were stations with free water and tea, the room was clean and very comfortable and the location is absolutely perfect! Everything you need for a great vacation in London!

The room was spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location so close to Paddington Station was terrific for a newcomer to London.

The property was clean and tidy, and very convenient for Paddington Station. Unfortunately no tea or coffee facilities in our rooms. After reading the finer detail in hotel info this was mentioned. I also noticed we should have been provided with water bottles upon arrival but this didn’t happen and we had to ask for them.

A bit strangely built hotel in several buildings (?) Room dark and small, and super hot without AC!! Also toilet rotting soon as the moisture has nowhere to go except to the carpet outside. Moist and hot. Breakfast room was nice, and so was the food. Nice surprise with water taps in the lobby to refill still or sparkling water during your stay.

Unable to connect to internet. Reception tried to assist but could not get me connected on any device. Bar/lounge was closed due to function. Room was freezing, heater not working. Brought in an oil radiator which then occupied 30% of floor space. When I was shown room heater location I could not believe how much dirt and dust was around the radiator. Known radiator issue as all the panel screws to radiator were missing.

Great breakfast included in the room rate. Clean and comfortable room, with an amazing (and hot) shower. Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. Also, a great, central location and very convenient to get around. We had a street facing room and worried we wouldn’t sleep due to noise - no issues whatsoever, slept well and comfortably with minimal sound. Would recommend and stay again if ever in London overnight.

Lovely staff and decor, but room and bathroom were TINY and pretty uncomfortable for two people to try and stay in. Extremely noisy street outside - were woken at 5am by 2 hours of barrels being loaded into a nearby pub. No room to put a suitcase or even a kettle and pantry provisions were a bit disappointing

Must be the most convenient hotel for Paddington station. Very small room not great for folks of our age. Lovely friendly staff. Had to open the window as the room was too warm so got lots of street noise throughout the night. For what we needed, it did the job.

The Pilgrm was great! Customer service was amazing and the staff was so friendly. Allowed us to check-in early after an 11 hour flight and hour tube ride. Literally a block from the Paddington station which can get you anywhere and had a direct line to the Heathrow airport Our only two small complaints (emphasis on small). 1) the room was small for us. If enough for a bed and the bathroom but barely enough space for our luggage and the ability to move. 2) no air conditioning. We were our most or the day but the nights were definitely humid and warm in the room. The hotel provided a fan that worked great to push air, not to counter the humidity. Again these are small. Would recommend this hotel to anyone planning on being out and about most of the time and want easy access to the tube, train, or bus and walking distance to Kensington.

The food and service was excellent. The staff top class. The only issue was how hot it got and the noise. There is no soundproofing between the rooms and you can clearly hear other guest talking or the noise outside the busy area.

Cold showers every day, smallest room could’ve possibly been given, thin walls.

Room was clean, but edge of sink needed a little attention. The rubber trim was lifting in the corners, they took care of it right away. It is a cute hotel, but the rooms are on the small side. We booked the large room and that was a bit of a stretch for us both, but we don't spend much time in our room, we are out and about. It is a cozy hotel, close to pubs, easy to walk to sites, Paddington station is across the street. We choose this place for location and convenience.

The room was decent enough, but the hotel was noisy and terribly overpriced. Particularly off putting was their “mandatory” online check in, not only requiring the resending of sensitive data (credit card details, passport numbers), but making you feel like they were doing you a favour by letting you stay at their hotel.

The staff is awesome! Their lift was broken so they had a guy carry our cases up 4 flights of stairs for us!! The hotel is very clean with a wonderful atmosphere. We got the small room and it was small but manageable and the bed was comfortable as well. Would definitely stay there again.

The check into the hotel wasn’t the best. Was told we could check in at 1400, went to check in at 1430 and staff said room wasn’t ready quite yet which we understood. Said they would call when the room was ready, never received a phone call. Upon checkout though we made sure we checked out before midday and hoped we could leave our luggage there so we didn’t have to take suitcases around while we did some sightseeing, staff refused to allow us to do so and didn’t give us any suggestions as to what to do. Found them very unfriendly and not helpful at all.

Strange check-in, but itherwise good! The location can't be beat!

After initially being given a broom facing the station which was really noisey, we raised the issue and were upgraded and given a wonderful room. The staff were so helpful and couldn’t have done more for us. The rooms were very clean and had all we needed. Loved the pantry and the tea was yummy! Would really recommend this hotel to anyone going to London in the future

Business travelers beware: the "pay at property" option is misleading. Despite giving my company card at check-in, the hotel charged my deposit card instead. This caused problems at work, and the hotel refused to fix it. Once they charged the wrong card, they showed no concern. Be cautious if you want control over payment.

The large room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was great and the shower nice and large. The staff I encountered were all excellent and very accommodating especially at check in. I did not eat there

This is a great small hotel right near the station, decor is really cool with lots of artwork around the reception & bar. For such a central location we found it quiet at night and all the staff we met were really helpful & friendly. Rooms were clean and had good space - especially considering it a London city centre hotel. We would definitely visit again - thank you :-)

Great proximity to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express. Took about 5 minutes to walk there, which was handy at the end of a long trip. Also handy for easy access to the tube for exploring the city. You can hear the trains/ tube from the bedrooms at night, but we enjoyed the sound lulling us to sleep. Room was small, but as described. Bed was a bit small and felt short… my sister and I had to get really cozy at night, but it wasn’t a problem. They even provided a fan in the room which was great— it was strong and kept us cool in the summer. Thanks!

Perfect location for us as we only had two nights and had to fly out after two days so we wanted something close to Paddington station. We ordered large rooms but could’ve been a little larger. All other amenities perfect. Shared tea/coffee room was okay. Breakfast amazing.

The Pilgrim is in a great location a 2 minute walk from Paddington Station, 10 minutes walk to Hyde Park and 30 mins walk to the V&A and many other great attractions in London. The rooms are a decent size with good quality ensuites with great showers! We had a first floor room which was a bit noisy from the pub next door and light from the tourist shops across the road, but luck of the draw I guess. All in all good value.

Overall we had a really lovely stay in London at The Pilgrim. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was fantastic, easy access to the underground stations. The biggest drawback was that at night it was noisy. There is a pub next door and I did find that we really could hear a lot of music and shouting late at night and then deliveries early in the morning.

Charming and unexpectedly cool hotel conveniently located very close to Paddington station. Included the breakfast, it was first rate. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel was soo cute and aesthetically pleasing! Amazing location by the train and cute restaurants around. The rooms were small but to be expected and there wasn’t AC so was a little hot at night yet they provide a standing fan. The restaurant in the hotel was very good for breakfast and we had great cocktails there before a night out.

Lift was not working, the outdoor bar- which is the main highlight on the website was closed and lift was out of order. Had to carry my luggage.
