It was overall a nice stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but cute. Walls are really thin. I don’t like the fact the doors are locked after 12 into the entrance. You have to wait for someone to physically come unlock it. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel staff were professional and the service levels were excellent. My room was very nice. However, after the 1st night, the air conditioning failed. The staff tried to get the air system working again and brought in a portable air system. The portable unit also didn't work well. Eventually I was moved to their smallest room which was disappointing, but at least it had air conditioning. The staff then moved me to a comparable room for my final night at the property. Hotel service was fantastic despite the challenge with the air system and moving rooms. Excellent location and well appointed rooms. I would stay at this location again.

Beautiful older hotel, is just steps away from the Gloucester Station Tube station, but almost in a neighborhood setting. The property was undergoing renovations while we were there. New door locks (we had to reprogram our key several times), dining room was being renovated (so no dinner at hotel was available). Housekeeping was on pointe, however, we only received washcloths every third day. The linens were fluffy and soft. Coffee service in the room was Nespresso everyday and complimentary. Snacks and drinks were available all day in the lobby.

My room was very nice and the reception staff were excellent! However there was a lot of maintenance work going on including renovation of the brasserie and bar so they were not available. The breakfast was disappointing and the staff were totally disinterested and no explanation of what was available ie you could order items to be cooked fresh in the kitchen! The reception staff were excellent from check-in to check-out,Irene in particular. But all were thorough and prompt in responding to our needs. I did think the hallways were a bit dingy and depressing but the rooms were acceptable. The beds were very comfortable and the linens(bath and bed) were very nice. The hotel fragrance was nice but a little overpowering-should be toned down a bit. We had a very pleasant stay!

I like the design and ambience of the hotel and is situated in walking distance to travel networks. Entrance to the hotel has stairs and lift not working during stay was problematic.I booked a cosy room which is as described small, which again is nicely designed but shower soap needed refilling and some mould in shower not great for price. I think the hotel is good but a few little things made me consider the price paid.

We enjoyed our stay here and our room was pretty spacious in our opinion. Love the little bed they made for my 4 years old. Walkable to the Kensington garden and close to a lot of shops and restaurants. It's pretty convenient in my opinion. The only downside is that the bathroom need a little upgrade and they need to do a better job on cleaning it as well. Especially the grout and corner areas due to there are built up molds. The bottom door looked pretty worn out too.. Overall. A good stay. Other than that. The room in general is pretty spacious and clean.

The area was clean, safe, and had easy access to transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself seemed to be under some construction with uneven floors and cracked walls. My room was located below ground floor and staff continued to ask why I was there even after I checked in! I was located by the front door and I could clearly hear staff talking up in the lobby.

We stayed in a junior suite with our 8 year old and it was perfect! Quiet and enough space with a door closing between the two rooms. There was enough space in the hotels mini fridge to store some yogurt and milk for easy breakfast. Definitely recommend this hotel

Melia Hotel is conveniently located just a couple blocks from the subway in the lovely neighborhood of South Kensington. We enjoyed walking to Hyde Park and the History and Science museums. The hotel is a beautiful old building retrofitted with modern amenities and furnishings. The staff was always helpful and quick to assist. The only downsides are the rather small rooms with no closets (just a wardrobe for hanging clothes) and the sound proofing leaves much to be desired. If you’re claustrophobic and/or a light sleeper this might not be the place for you.

Beautiful hotel! The bedroom was big and the section of the room with the pull out bed had its own bathroom and privacy. Train station one block down, lots of food spots to walk to. Overall the room was great!

Stayed in room 507 which was in the basement and not only did the room have an awful view of a wall it was it was extremely, extremely noisy from above and outside as well. Our nights were very disruptive. Having raised the complaint to reception we were offered a smaller room the following day go 3pm. Unfortunately this was not convenient as we were attending a family wedding. We were promised an email with recompense but nothing has been received and unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay at the Melia for the money we paid

Location is great but rooms are like JAIL compared to other hotels close by . Pictures don’t match what you see with both eyes! Staff were kind and helpful expect the lady who did my check in. She wasn’t helpful at all. I’m glad I did not book entire 10 nights at Melia …. After 3 nights I booked at walking distance hotels the Bailey and it was excellent.

Absolutely amazing stay! Hotel was updated, clean, beautiful, and had the most accommodating staff that helped us find restaurants and activities during our stay in London. Even made reservations for us at some of the best restaurants that were fully booked. Love this hotel, am absolutely going to stay again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel. We found Peter especially helpful. He was very knowledgable about London and all the various areas, landmarks, neighborhoods to visit.

We had no hot water for the entirety of our stay. They said they had fixed it but it was not. Even the room we were moved to did not have hot water. This happens, but the way the manager handled it was very poor and I would not go back ever again

Melia Hotel is conveniently located just a couple blocks from the subway in the lovely neighborhood of South Kensington. We enjoyed walking to Hyde Park and the History and Science museums. The hotel is a beautiful old building retrofitted with modern amenities and furnishings. The staff was always helpful and quick to assist. The only downsides are the rather small rooms with no closets (just a wardrobe for hanging clothes) and the sound proofing leaves much to be desired. If you’re claustrophobic and/or a light sleeper this might not be the place for you.

The property was super convenient. Buses, underground station and cabs all within a block. Very quiet area, we loved it. Hotel is clean, staff was wonderful and helpful and our room was small but efficient. Would love to visit again!

Rooms were really comfortable and nicely decorated. It had a more unique feel to the place than most hotels. Easy to get anywhere using nearby underground station. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It is on a busy road but quiet inside. One thing that was a surprise was the perfume in the lobby but that seems to be a thing in the hotels here.

This is the most fabulous property. They had it decorated for Wimbledon and gave us strawberries and cream and a Pims upon arrival. The lobby is beautiful, the room was comfortable, clean, and beautiful! Any request we had was promptly granted and the Italian restaurant, “Da Mario,” within walking distance is a must but make a reservation a day or more before. The Indian restaurant next door was wonderful and super fast for take out. The tube is just across the street less than a block. I loved staying here and would stay here again without a second thought. Excellent staff, too!

I loved the location, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The staff is really friendly and accomodating. The only issue I did not like is the breakfast in Hispania, the service is very lacking especially from a staff member that could not even fanthom to bring a glass of water, let alone pick up the plates, too expensive for the assortment of food and the service. But the hotel service is excellent.

Beautiful older hotel, is just steps away from the Gloucester Station Tube station, but almost in a neighborhood setting. The property was undergoing renovations while we were there. New door locks (we had to reprogram our key several times), dining room was being renovated (so no dinner at hotel was available). Housekeeping was on pointe, however, we only received washcloths every third day. The linens were fluffy and soft. Coffee service in the room was Nespresso everyday and complimentary. Snacks and drinks were available all day in the lobby.

Premium room but there was no shaving mirror, the arm to support it yes but no mirror. Control arm for the water temperature was also missing making it difficult to get the water temperature right. Reading lamps by the bed would come off the wall whenever you adjusted them, they were not fixed securely. This hotel is a refurbished home, I was in room 120 above the kitchen with NO views, windows had a covering over them . The room had low ceilings, low lighting and just made me feel claustrophobic. Breakfast at 22 pounds was not good. This place had a high rating and I was just disappointed and should have just booked the double tree around the corner.

My room was very nice and the reception staff were excellent! However there was a lot of maintenance work going on including renovation of the brasserie and bar so they were not available. The breakfast was disappointing and the staff were totally disinterested and no explanation of what was available ie you could order items to be cooked fresh in the kitchen! There was no bottled water in my suite until the third day. I think there seemed to be a lack of management of the property

I used the steam iron in my room, and as soon as it started working, brown water came out and completely ruined my white shirt.
