Merit Kensington Hotel

Great location, nice property, comfortable beds and baths. When we were there the elevator was broken and we were on 3rd floor. It was a little taxing on my back and knees. The staff were friendly and helped with our bags.

Quite recently renovated, clean rooms and property. However, rooms were rather small, lobby area was small and overall had limited facilities.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very clean and modern on a charming street right near the Earl's Court tube stop. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Overall, I would highly recommend this location. [Just a note though that this hotel is NOT wheelchair accessible as there are stairs that are unavoidable.]

Modern tech very responsive, clean and quiet. Fab shower and great magnifying lit mirror in bathroom. Comfy bed

The front desk was aware that the elevator was broken and expected the guest to carry their luggage to carry their luggage up and down the narrow spiral staircase. The carpet and the drapes in the room were filthy. Room stunk. The front desk clerk was indifferent when asked to remedy these issues. This hotel is not a 4-star and should not be considered by the more mature and experienced traveler. In short, false advertising.

Near a subway stop. The room was a little small - but that was to be expected in London. Room was clean, updated lighting and HVAC controls. Nice neighborhood

Rooms are newly renovated with beautiful bathrooms. Backyard has to be clean. It is full of garbage.

Nicely renovated rooms, great breakfast, nice staff! The only downpoints were the not working elevator (had to carry our luggage to the third floor and back again) and the centrally activated air conditioning which could not be controlled from the room

Great location around the corner from the Earl's Court Tube Station. Good and clean rooms. Lifts at hotel. Some stairs to get to the entrance. Hotel has a few different buildings right next to each other, so you may have to enter (via small set of stairs) to check in, and then go to other building to get to your room.

Location is close to the public transport. If you have a heavy luggage is not really handy cause you have to reach the reception thru stairs .. FRIENDLY STAFF !! stayed in a basement room unluckily got a room smells like sewer😳😞… ( came late at night and can’t get any other room) Gladly stayed only for a night.. I did let the staff know that the room smells like sewer.. I hope they did something about it..

good location Ok hotel room. Room to sleep and take a shower. No problem with staff. Cleaning every day (or more new towels, tea cups and made out bed). Not new sheets. Light buttons worked fine Elevator worked They gave us new shampoo/ soaps for each day. There is placed to buy food such as food stores/ fast food. The fastfood was bad. The food stores was good. The tube is right around the corner. - no information about breakfast, but in our building (24) it had a note referring to breakfast in the main building and times. (We did not order breakfast at the hotel) - not easy to find the room. The room was in the backyard. - alot of school kids making noice since the hotel is next to a school. Not the best place for ouiet. - the wall had alot og marks / paint/ stains - the only chair had a black mark - the toilet door was peeling in the bottom left corner - tv did not work - no hair dryer . If you have colored hair be prepared to pay for the towels. (They rent the towels) This will be taken from the deposit 100£ you pay when checking in. - insects came up from the sink multiple times. May just be because it was in the backyard. I dont know. Should still not appear in our room - bed matress had lot of yellow stains and hair strands. Also the pillows and the quilt. - the hallways are tiny. Only fitting one normal person. Fine for only sleeping and going out on the day Would not choose again. There was better hotels in the same street too.

Remarkably quiet residential street despite tube and shops being so close. Very pleasant helpful staff and very very clean. Loved that windows would open! There was occasionally smell of sewage in room which was not pleasant.

The bed was covered in someones or dogs hair, told the reception and all they said was we are sorry, didnt offer any kind of revolution and didnt really seemed bothered after showing pictures, easy stay not bad for location but that was the only plus

The room was clean and comfortable, but this year I had issues with the air conditioner I never got resolved and the refrigerator didn’t work. Some days the housekeeping left a bit to be desired (no clean coffee cup, one day it was not done at all). Also, as a single woman, I wasn’t happy being placed on the ground floor, right next to the elevator, things that I wish the hotel would consider for the safety of their guests.

Super convenient to Earls Court tube. Spotlessly clean room. Very comfy bed. Great shower! Great facilities. Friendly staff. Fantastic value for money

The bed was abaolitely horribe, objectively. At first I thought it felt like a waterbed but it simultaneously had many shary and uncomfortable bits pokimg out of it. The area and everything else was what I needed, but I don't think there's an excuse for having the matress in that condition.

Important: The bathroom door in my single bedroom did NOT close into the doorframe. Didn’t bother me that much because I was alone but don’t book if you’re traveling with others. Other cons: Bottom floor (-1) had odd smell. No natural light options because curtains can’t be pulled back and the view outside is a bunch of dirt and junk. The room was uncomfortably cold. The room guide mentioned the bathroom floors cojld be heated, but the thermostat outside the bathroom did not work. Room service entered when I was gone without me knowing which was odd. Should have left a note or gave me a heads up. Dropped off my luggage and after checking in, had to go back to the main building and drag it myself to my room. Pros: Great proximity to Earls Court Station which is about 2 minute walk away. Pret a manger, Burger King, Starbucks, and other food options are nearby along with a Boots Pharmacy that makes grabbing food and items very convenient. Exterior looks great. Bathroom had a nice luxurious, clean look.

106 room was small with a half window (not for a claustrophobic person), noisy (on one side there was entrance and on the other elevator). Too pricey for what they offer!

Located close to the high street and Earl’s Court train station. Lots of options for restaurants and fast food. Room was clean however very narrow and small. Bathroom door does not close fully. If staying here, ask for a room not on the lower ground level as you can hear the footsteps/any noise from floor above and loud noises from housekeeping starting their day in the morning (it’s impossible to sleep in, be prepared to be woken up early).

This hotel room is extremely small. You could barely walk down the sides of the bed squeeze into a very tight bathroom and you couldn’t even sit on the chair really to use the laptop. The desk was so small. I don’t even know how they get to use this as a room to charge near £100 for and blood on the duvet cover and really noisy at night. This place is barely the size of my laundry cupboard at home.

We loved our stay at Merit Kensington! It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. They were so kind to hold our bags for us before and after checking in and out of our room. We had a room for 3 and plenty of space. Access to the underground was so easy and we were able to transport directly to Heathrow from Earls Court station on the Piccadilly line without making any train changes which is so nice with luggage! The only downside is that they didn’t have an extra pillow when asked, or little amenities like coffee in the lobby. We were completely happy with our stay and would absolutely book again next time we are in London!

air-con was down for 4hours+, when I talked to the reception counter, the man was so rude , he just repeatedly said it would be fine after 10mins and ignored me without looking at me. the air con in fact was not working well in the next day, just fan was working, temp was high. really bad

The overall experience here was excellent. The rooms were very nice modern and clean. The staff was excellent. The area was great. Transportation the bus and tube close by and walkable to many things.

Property is in a good area. A lot to do in walking distance. Close to tube and central London. Building condition on the outside looks good but when you walk in smells sour as water damage throughout the property. Rooms are very small. I knew booking the property the rooms were not large but even smaller in person. Cleaning crew is lovely and efficient but front staff are not very helpful.

Great hotel. The staff at the front desk were amazingly helpful. We left a pair of jeans behind and they sent us a picture and gave us options for their return. Thanks for everything!!

We lived in this hotel in 2023 summer, we loved it as the rooms were cozy and provided good breakfast. So we decided to come back again in 2025, the receptionist lady was rude and we were being told that we reserved the " budgeted room" in the front desk. We reserved the standard room!!! The staffs there are generally not helpful. I sent email to them for confirm the bookings, nearly no reply. We loved the breakfast provided in 2023, but the food now are not fresh with limited variety. Some customers complaint to the manager there. We were disappointed about the services provided.

Great area very close to the tube. Room was clean. Decent property not fancy but worth it if you are going for site seeing. Close to stores. Stayed 7 nights. Room was cleaned daily. Small room but good.

I stayed at Merit Kensington for 1 night during a business trip. The hotel location was convenient with Earls Court Station just a 3-minute walk away, and plenty of places to grab food/drinks nearby including M&S Food, Starbucks and KFC. The hotel was clean, quiet, and good value for money. Would happily stay again!

Breakfast started at 8, and that is just too late when being on a business trip. People in the reception sermed quite aloof and not even at check out they asked if all had been alright. But nice rooms.

Beautiful garden view room. Small but perfect formed so felt big. Lovely bathroom. Whole hotel was very clean with great staff. Breakfast was brilliant too!

Traveler beware - this hotel is next to a primary school, and my room shared a wall with the music room. Every weekday morning at 8am I was greeted by the "charming" plonking of a piano and 30 schoolchildren singing Disney songs at high volume. This is not the hotel's fault, but it IS something to be aware of when booking rooms. I would have requested a room change, but as I was in town for business, I was usually already awake by that hour anyway. What I do blame the hotel for was the thick smell of musty damp in the room - I had to buy a perfume spray at Boots just to mask the odor. Perhaps because there was no fan in the bathroom to vent the shower steam. Additionally, the shampoo and body wash bottles were low-quality mismatched brands clearly from the 80s. For a four-star hotel, I would expect better product, or at least product all from the same provider! Instead, it felt like they were just using up whatever ancient bottles of body wash they had on hand. Finally, the breakfast room is quite small, and though the staff crams you in there (often sharing your table with other guests), it is not adequate for the morning rush, so make sure to arrive early otherwise you may have to wait for a table to open up. Breakfast options were very basic, and often were not replenished speedily enough to keep up with the crowd. To me, this is in no way, shape, or form a four star hotel.

Our overall stay was great. Location (1 minute walk from Earle’s court station) was perfect for what we wanted. The Garden view room we had was lovely and quiet, didn’t hear the trains at all. We didn’t think much about the breakfast though. There was a great variety of food but if it’s the full English you would go for, then it’s not for you. Everything was a little dry/cold. Lots of cafes and bars locally would probably do better and be much cheaper too.

Location perfect for the tube. Recently refurbished it seems, very comfortable Great staff. Could turn the music down a little at breakfast though :-) Nice breakfast.
