The Memoir Club

The hotel is lovely. I stayed there for 3 nights. Located in Bloomsbury, not far from the Euston station, it is a good starting point to explore the city. The hotel has been recently renovated and it offers nice, clean and quiet rooms (with Nespresso machines that coffee drinkers will enjoy). The restaurant is nice and there is a gym that I have not used. The Memoir Club is only a 11 mn- walk away from the British Museum and a few minutes from UCL university grounds, a 25-mn walk to Covent Garden etc. Last but not least the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. A special thank you to them !

Having stayed here in November, the fact that we rebooked meant we were happy with what this hotel provided at London prices. Everything was fine during our overnight stay before catching Eurostar the next morning. The only issue we had really was the floor numbering in the lift!

The standard double room was really clean, great air con and decent shower. However, the room is small, so there's not much room to walk around the bed, which might be a problem if you have a lot of luggage.

Great location but unfortunately my room was too hot and the thermostat was unable to correct the issue. They brought up a fan which suggests to me that they were aware there was an issue with the room. As result I had a terrible sleep. Not sure why they didn’t just offer to put us in another room. When I checked out all I received was a hearty shrug when informing them of the issue. Why bother asking “how were things?” if you are not going to do anything about it, if there was in fact an issue. Maybe this was a one off but I would not recommend.

We travelled by train. This hotel is within a 2 minutes walk of euston station with bag storage so ideal if you are arriving early or travelling home late. When we ledt our bags the morning we arrived the reception area did have a bad smell. Rooms were clean and well equipt although the bathroom was small and in need of an upgrade. Would stay here again.
