Great location, right next to hyde park and a few minutes walk from the tube. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Bar area was really nice and the room was a good size with a really comfy bed. Some of the decor like the furniture and bathroom were dated but all really clean! No aircon in the room so does get hot but a fan was provided which was a bonus! Great stay and would definitely stay again and recommend!

Family room was comfortable, location is great between 2 tube stops and an easy walk to Paddington Station. Heaps of food and grocery options around and right across the road from huge park. Parking is first come first served c.o.d. 1 small lift for the whole building was a bit slow. Water pressure was good.

This hotel is an older Victorian style. It’s not your typical city hotel. It is older but has lots of charm. The location is perfect, next door to Hyde Park. Walking distance to the tube. The room was very large, was pleasantly surprised when we saw it. Perfect for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. There were 4 single beds and enough space to move around in. Parking was very convenient. It was cheaper considering what the car parks charge in the area. Well worth it. Overall we loved our stay.

Very disappointing. For the price we did not expect excellence but expected far better. 2 lifts not working, room on 3rd floor, over 90 steps. Staff did carry our luggage up for us which we could not do. One lift was repaired the third day, very slow, barely large enough for 2 people. Lift doesn't even stop on the floor level, had to then walk down a half flight of stairs. Very hot, stuffy, window only opened a small bit. A small fan was provided, thankfully it was not very hot weather. Mattresses lumpy, furniture falling apart. Toilet never flushed all the way. Floors very creaky, felt like we could go through them in spots. Although the staff was extremely friendly and the location is superb we will not stay here again. There are many other hotels very close by that offer much more for not much more money, which we will gladly pay for better.

Loved that the property has retained the decoration that makes it feel like you are stepping back into a fine historical hotel, and can’t give it a high enough rating for cleanliness. The lift was out of order throughout our stay which was inconvenient with luggage and stairs. There is a laundry just down the street and the bar and lounge area was very nice. Breakfast was standard continental; there are a few nice restaurant options an easy walk away. Tour bus stop is literally around the corner which was super convenient for us. Daily housekeeping which is not something you get everywhere anymore.

Staff was very friendly! Our initial room smelled funny but the receptionist was super helpful and arranged for us to have another room. Hotel doesn’t have AC and it gets very hot. Room was superficially clean, but if you took a closer look, the bathroom needed a good stub down. The hotel itself is charming but has seen better times. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Hotel has a great location, right across from Hyde Park and public transport very close.

The quality of the cleanliness in the room must be acknowledged - our room was SPOTLESS. Please pass on our feedback to the cleaning team. Our only negative was the very thin walls. Our neighbour seemed to be having a party with their clothes hangers at 11.30pm, besides this we enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay here. This hotel is full of charm and character of a bygone era. Our room was spotlessly clean and had sweet touches like biscuits on the coffee tray. It was very well located close to many areas of interest and transit. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great, however the hotel is old. A few problems. Only two towels were provided. Haven't they heard of hand towels? The WiFi is terrible... especially on the 4th floor. But the worst was a lack of a coffee machine and a fridge. This is an expected aspect of most hotels these days. The staff was friendly and the shower was good but a bit low.

The Columbia: This hotel is quite aged, almost to the point of being unnerving. The prison-like avocado bathroom included a temperamental shower and a sink with two separate faucets, one for hot and one for cold. The toilet needed a rest between flushes of about 15 minutes before it would do another full flush. The decor was straight out of the Victorian era it seemed. HOWEVER. It was impeccably clean, and that was very comforting. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Paddington Station and several excellent restaurants. Breakfast was a normal European continental that consisted of pastries, cheese, cold cuts and cereal. Was not awful, but was not anything to write home about either. It filled the stomach gaps! We appreciate the cleanliness here, and the friendliness of staff, but we may find something more updated next time.

This hotel offers some beautiful common spaces and was very clean. Our room was fine- no frills and as pictured- but a bit stuffy on warm days. The floors were a bit creaky so you could hear others walking around in the hallways. The location was fantastic- right across from Hyde Park and a quick 7-minute walk to the Central line tube.

I thought the place was great - the accommodations were comfortable and clean, the location was convenient to transportation, etc. The only suggestion I would make is some of the male staff behind the desk could have been a little nicer - such as greeting us as we came in, asking how are rooms were, etc., instead of ignoring us, treating us as if we did not exist and did not matter. The rest of the staff acted appropriately. The staff members attending to our rooms were very nice and thorough.

The staff were incredibly friendly, plus they gave us a free room upgrade. The beds… fantastic, it was a dream come true. They were so comfy, we didn’t want to get out of it. Despite facing the main road, it was so nice and quiet, you wouldn’t believe there’s a bus stop outside. The continental breakfast was ok, it was a nice selection (but we’re biased to a full cooked breakfast). The hotel is very nice and pretty (loved the reception area) the only slight downfall, is the bathroom and corridors need updating but otherwise it is a great place to stay and would 100% stay there again!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we reported our TV wasn't working, they came quickly to see the problem, tried to sort it while we were out in the evening and when they couldn't, offered us another room and a free breakfast as compensation. I thought this was excellent customer service. The only downside of our room was that it was an adjoining room (for families to share two rooms together). Unfortunately that meant that the shared door was quite thin and the two young men next door were quite talkative so that at 12.30am I had to say we were trying to get to sleep!

The staff were really helpful. On arrival I went to reception and they helped with car parking as you have to have a space unlocked before pulling in. The room was ready early which we really appreciated as we wanted to get ready to attend our event. We had a room on the 4th floor but the lift was working fine for us each time we used it. Hotel was really clean, no faults there. The beds were so comfortable. The room decor is old but I think it adds to the charm of the hotel. There was also a television in the room. Hairdryer was available in the room. Would say that I was really hot in the room overnight but there was a fan provided so not a problem :) Location was perfect for attending an event in Hyde Park. We have no complaints at all, thank you for a comfortable stay.

We loved our time at The Columbia. The staff were amazing, the rooms a great size, the atmosphere old world classy with modern updates. The location is fantastic. Close to Hyde Park, shopping, eating, and public transportation. We will be back.

My room hadn\'t been cleaned when I requested. "Service room card" didn\'t work in spite of hanging on to the room door.But when got back to my room late at night I understood that someone had entered my room and left a pillow case on the floor without cleaning the room. I informed reception and manager in charge just to get a clarification.I didn\'t get an answer that who was the person got into my room? That was strange and suspicious thing to happen.Fortunately I had used safety box service from reception.I hadn\'t left any valuable thing in my room while I was out. "Service room card" didn\'t work in spite of hanging on to the room door.But when got back to my room late at night I understood that someone had entered my room and left a pillow case on the floor without cleaning the room. I informed reception and manager in charge just to get a clarification.I didn\'t get an answer that who was the person got into my room? That was strange and suspicious thing to happen.Fortunately I had used safety box service from reception.I hadn\'t left any valuable thing in my room while I was out. Loved that the property has retained the decoration that makes it feel like you are stepping back into a fine historical hotel, and can’t give it a high enough rating for cleanliness. The lift was out of order throughout our stay which was inconvenient with luggage and stairs. There is a laundry just down the street and the bar and lounge area was very nice. Breakfast was standard continental; there are a few nice restaurant options an easy walk away. Tour bus stop is literally around the corner which was super convenient for us. Daily housekeeping which is not something you get everywhere anymore.

This is a lovely older hotel right across from Kensington Gardens. Bus stop was right outside and it has 3 train stations nearby. We were traveling with our 10 and 15 year old and felt safe and comfortable. Close to Queensway for many food and shopping options. Staff was very friendly. Our rooms were ready and we were able to check in early. They also have a nice locked room to store luggage if you need to check out before flight. We did not eat the breakfast or utilize bar area, but we saw others doing so. Beds and rooms comfortable. Room got slightly warm but able to open window a little for air, it was no problem! We really enjoyed our stay here!

The Columbia: This hotel is quite aged, almost to the point of being unnerving. The prison-like avocado bathroom included a temperamental shower and a sink with two separate faucets, one for hot and one for cold. The toilet needed a rest between flushes of about 15 minutes before it would do another full flush. The decor was straight out of the Victorian era it seemed. HOWEVER. It was impeccably clean, and that was very comforting. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Paddington Station and several excellent restaurants. Breakfast was a normal European continental that consisted of pastries, cheese, cold cuts and cereal. Was not awful, but was not anything to write home about either. It filled the stomach gaps! We appreciate the cleanliness here, and the friendliness of staff, but we may find something more updated next time.

First of all, the staff are amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The location is great too. Just as in the pictures the hotel is a bit... eclectic. With 60's wood paneling, 70's avocado bathroom, 80's wallpaper and 90's carpet it was still all clean and in perfectly good order. I actually enjoyed the mishmash and it does give the room certain character. The breakfast was really disappointing. No cooked component at all. Not even a boiled egg - nothing, nada, zip. Breakfast room is grandiose to say the least, which was nice, but it's an oddly curated collection of furniture. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the park. Good view but I recommend you request a room on 1st or 2nd floor as the windows may be larger there. Overall, I was really pleased with this hotel, bar the sad looking breakfast, and will come again. Staff were amazing and really tried their best always.

Everywhere was very clean, beds were comfy, and staff were polite! Only downsides were: the showerhead was a quite small which made it hard to rinse hair well, and it was tricky to figure out how to switch the water from bath to shower so maybe a sign to explain it would be useful. No mini fridge or safe either. No aircon, but they had provided a fan for us which helped a bit! Good for the price and a nice location.
