Nice location at the Marina, restaurants nearby, some with live music, also a nice restaurant in the hotel although we didn’t use that. There is a pool bar that opens at 4 pm which was convenient. Pool was lovely and also very close to a lovely beach.

Nice view, bed very comfortable. Toilet very uncomfortable to sit on, walls were dirty, floor was sticky. For the price paid for 1 night 2pm to 10am so like most places not even 24hours the supplied condiments (chips, softdrink etc) was way to exepensive. Had to find alternate food/drink as theirs was closed. Ok stay but not again.

While the room was clean and tidy we found it quite dated. Mould in the shower, light switches were a bit dodgy and balcony was not very clean. Limited selection of mains on the dinner menu. We paid an additional $50 for breakfast, but were told we were limited to only $30 any thing over that we had to pay additional. Staff were very polite and helpful. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Some features of the room needed to be repaired such as shower head holder that had been glued together , cupboard door that was not sliding , aircon unit leaked water down onto the tv and the balcony was unkept and not clean, the dryer filter had not been cleaned in a long time loads of lint in it. Lacking cutlery and shelf in fridge broken and no fruit and vegetable draw it was missing. Just little things that were frustrating.

This was our first time staying at the Mantra Mackay and hopefully it will not be our last. Normally we stay in town near the highway but this time we tried the marina precinct and were very happy with our choice of the Mantra. The staff were friendly and the room was excellent. The bars and restaurants along the waterfront were great. We are looking forward to another visit before too much longer, and hopefully for more than just one night on the way through.

I loved my trip to Mackay and mostly because of the mantra. The food was amazing, do get the breakfast add on. It is worth it ! The hotel itself is stunning! But the best bit of it all were the staff. They were all so fabulous. Rachel, Rhianna and Monica you guys were the best. Thank you for everything

If the Mantra are not happy letting Wotif market their rooms cheaper than they charge - dont do it! Simple, there are plenty of other motels that welcome Wotif customers and demonstrate that the customer is important regardless on what the customer has used as a marketing research tool and payment mechanism.

As the hotel is a long way from town, I think the restaurant should be opened 7 days a week . It could be done with a restricted menu to cater for people staying.only the local pub was open on Sunday and Monday nights

The whole building is in desperate need of renovations.. old & tired. Our room overlooked the marina .. the shower was moldy & rusty. The dinnerware was old, cups tiny, glasses old & scratched, no tea bags. Furnishings were old & dated. Dreadful stay. And we paid $346 for that room, it was worth $100 if that. Really expected a lot more for that price. We are driving from Brisbane to Cairns & have stayed in 3 Mantras along the way. Mantra Hervey Bay was equally as bad as this Mantra Mackay. The one in Gladstone was nice. 1 from 3 being acceptable is not good enough. We had booked a 3 night stay at Mantra Mooloolaba later in August but have just canceled it as we can't take the risk of being thoroughly disappointed again. It's Time Accor checked the accommodations it provides & charges appropriately. Very Bad.
