Not enough parking spots for the amount of rooms. They also use parking spots to store linen trolleys meaning I couldn't even reverse my 4WD into the only remaining spot, as there was no room to swing around. Plenty of room for the electric charging cars. Room and outside rooms also had strong sewer smell in the bathroom.

The property manager was offsite and did not respond to phone calls requesting assistance. The stairwells to the second floor of the property smelled strongly of urine and this was not cleaned during my stay. The taps to the bathtub had been removed - to keep people from using the bath? Both the restaurant and swimming pool were closed and notice was not given during booking. One reason for choosing this property was the restaurant availability.

Loved the open feel of the hotel, however the pool was closed for our 8 day stay, which was dissapoiting as the pool was the reason we booked the hotel and there was no advanced notice that the pool would be closed, therefore left disappointed, however it was a nice hotel

a quick stay at oceanside hotel passing through mackay. we have stayed at this hotel a few times and its always great. easy parking and plenty of overflow parking out the front if you have trailers or large vehicles etc. rooms are always clean, after hours checkin is a breeze. comfy bed and a good pressure hot shower what more could you ask for! will be back for sure!

I chose this hotel as it had a ‘restaurant and cafe’ - despite this and signs saying the cafe was open from 5 - on the day I stayed it didn’t open at all so I had to walk 2 km to get a coffee. Inroom coffee was Nescafé stick despite listing a tea and coffee maker. I needed reception but despite signs saying it opened at 7 at 7:40 I had to ring the night bell and then they didn’t answer the rang the hotel number to get a response. Housekeeping serviced my room but didn’t make the bed or empty the bins so I don’t know why they bothered. The curtains were falling off and there was no clips to hang them back up Carpet didn’t feel clean and the nice bathroom has lime scale on the floor and glass. Also not enough light to do makeup The bed was clean and comfy and the room was quiet. Wifi worked well.

My wife and I were very impressed with the cleanliness and facilities available at Oceanside. The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were fine and my daughter loved having a swim in the pool. Couldn’t ask for much more from a cheap single room. Although simple, very happy with our stay.

I wanted to bring to your attention as spending nearly $600 dollars on accommodation I was expecting a bit more than what we received, when arriving to check in no run down was provided about the amenities instead the receptionist just provided myself with a piece of paper with limited details and my room key and went back to their phone call, I would’ve liked to have received more information about the dining details and that room service is provided however, it had to be done at reception which defeats the purpose in my opinion. The room was not clean and stunk of mildew, the glass on the balcony was filthy, the bathroom had visible water damage the bathroom door could not be shut and the shower had residue and mould all over it and was not cleaned properly, It was also to my understanding the room would be cleaned each day and it wasn’t, I can see the only one day someone had entered our room and only changed the towels and we did have a dirty bowl sitting on the bench I could see it had been accidentally dropped but put back and the remaining sauce that was in the bowl was spilt on the floor and left there the whole day until we returned that evening. I also found it concerning that all the dirty and ‘clean linen and towels’ were sitting out in the open air in the car park exposed to the elements for days and The tv remote needs replacing as it barely worked.

The room could have been great and value for money but it was filthy. The mirror was smeared with something, there was a pile of clothes left in the room from the last guests, the walkway outside looked like someone had vomitted and it had only been partially cleaned. Breakfast options on weekends are limited.

Would not recommend this place at all! Black mould found in the room we paid for! It stunk and had cockroaches. We addressed it with management who also turned up filthy and stunk of nicotine which did not help the situation. Fearing the safety of my family I had to look elsewhere later in the evening. Management were not accommodating to providing us with other options for the night so we left! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Stay away! Bomb the place, for bugs and/or management.

I really liked this place, for the price point. Very very clean room, absolutely spotless and staff were nice. They even let me check in an hour early (lucky my room was ready) but I really appreciated that as otherwise I would have been sitting there waiting. It felt very safe, nice area and very close to the beach. The only complaint I have is the walls were super thin, you could hear others TVs etc which didn’t bother me personally but given there was no sound barrier it wasn’t super private. For this price point I honestly don’t think you will find anything nicer, very happy. Thank you.

Our room had connecting doors to the room next to ours, @ approx 11pm the person in the next room opened up both door & tried to enter ours, my wife yelled & he quickly reversed, not sure why the connecting doors were left unlocked, our room was also not cleaned, & bed not made, we will not be going back!!!

Good location and very close to the beach. I used the walking track for my evening runs to the riverfront and back. The rooms are well appointed however you can see signs of wear and tear. The room was quite dark however opening up the curtain all the way makes a difference. If you have a neighbour who smokes, then opeing the back sliding door is not a good idea. There were landscaping works going on in the back which was mildly distracting. The WiFi is horrendous and if you're travelling for business like me and need a stable WiFi connection, this is not the place to stay. Management could easily add more network points. Mobile reception is also quite poor in the area. I was only given one key which is needed to turn the power to the room on. At night time, this becomes an inconvenience as it is pitch dark in the room and difficult to find your way around.

The room was well appointed however there were a few issues to mention: 1) The bathroom door handle came off and was not installed properly (Poor quality workmanship). 2) The TV remote was not working properly, and I could not lower the volume (no physical button on the TV either) and there was no way you can turn the TV off with the bright white screen staying on (you have to turn off the switch at the power point). 3) TV reception was horrible and all channels were freezing constantly. 4) The shower was very powerful and the spout sprays water outside the tub. 5) There is no room service on a Sunday. I asked for my room to be made up and the cleaning staff said no. They did give me a fresh set of towels. 6) The pictures on Wotif are deceiving. There are no push bikes to use nor is there a courtesy bus available. If you don't have your own car, then you will have to walk 30 minutes to the CBD or hire an e-scooter or Uber or Taxi.

Although a little way out of the main part of the town, we would definitely stay here again. We arrived 3 hours before the check in time and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They said they would get our room ready first, and that is exactly what they did. Within 15 mins of arriving we were in our room, which meant we could leave our luggage and go out exploring. All staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. It was peaceful sitting on the balcony and you couldn’t hear people in any of the other rooms which was a bonus. The room had a kitchenette, was very clean and comfortable. Thanks to the staff for making us feel very welcome.

Quiet, modern and clean, nice little cafe opening out to a great swimming pool, short walk to Iluka Park and Town Beach and fairly close to the Mackay CBD .... Best of all the price for a overnight stay is good value and quite competitive against other Hotels that don't present as well as Oceanside Central Hotel

I really liked this place, for the price point. Very very clean room, absolutely spotless and staff were nice.
