Friendly staff who were welcoming and helpful. Right next to airport (which can be a positive or negative). Decent sized room and facilities were great for the price. Not a 5 star hotel of course, but very good overall. Clean, good beds, great location if you have a flight. Bar and restaurant was decent food. I would definitely stay here again.

You need to fix up how you have to drive through the airport to go round to the back of the parking cause it’s a pain when you have to drive through when people are getting dropped off or picked up from the airport

Excellent hotel! Very modern and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very average and not that interesting. But we had breakky from the normal menu and it was very good! Highly recommend the avocado toast with chickpeas! We stayed here on a stop over travelling on a road trip from from far north Qld to Brisbane. Free parking very close is super handy!

I’ve stayed at Ibis Mackay several times overnight when catching flights to or from Mackay because of its convenience. The food is excellent and rooms are spotlessly clean. I love the blackout shade as it blocks out all light. I’ve stayed at some places where I’ve had lights keeping me awake all night due to no window shades.

The room was good. Check in service was good. Service at the restaurant was terrible. We ended up leaving before ordering. The parking was also difficult as the boom gate is operated by the air port.

24hr food wasn’t available which is the sole reason why we booked due to late arrival Really not well equipped for what they advertise all over the hotel. Really inconvenient place to stay as no food delivery is available to the hotel and the hotel doesn’t have operational kitchen to coincide with flight arrivals. We felt really sorry for an elderly man that was rushed through his check in wasn’t asssited with anything related to check in, appeared really rude to him.

Last minute booking for one night in Mackay because this hotel seemed to be one of the only ones with availability in the area that had a front desk agent that could check us in around 11pm. The room was very small and I kept finding hair on the bathroom counter. The shower design wasn’t too great as water seemed to get all over the floor. Overall, it was good value for what we got. We checked out very early the next morning and did not use any amenities or know if they had them. The location is right next to the airport so if you’re flying into or out of Mackay it’s a convenient location.

Great staff, very accommodating and helpful, really appreciate that. Check in system was slow, not the staff- they were lovely- just the system they have to work with seems to be. Servicing of room was unfortunately well below average of usual places but maybe the staff are directed not to wipe benches, etc, so not sure. Overall I really enjoyed my stay there.

Located next to airport so very convenient. Room was clean & tidy. Bed was super comfy. Lovely shower. Only negative was we called to ask about room service and were told the menu would be available via the hotel compendium QR code on the tv. Compendium states to view pages 13-17 but only goes to page 13 with no menu. Thus, we did not order any food this time. We have previously had meals at the hotel and they have always been very good.

While the hotel is convenient to the airport, I was given the room number 408 that was very noisy all night. The room must be adjacent to a boiler and some electrical equipment with loud clicks and bubbling water noises all night. I has a very bad night not happy Jan.

Easy walk from Airport. Close to BB Print Stadium and sporting precinct. Clean almost like new rooms. Comfortable bed. Very quiet room with blackout blind. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a good view of the lights across the airport to town at night. Daytime view was the mountain ranges in background with airport car park and runway which was pleasant to sit at the desk and look out at the view. Requires a second chair and free bottled water in the room. Highly recommend.

This hotel is great for an early morning flights. My only complaint is that the rooms claim to be sound proof but from about 6am there were people out in the hallway talking loudly and opening and closing doors constantly.

The service was good class and the front office nanager at check in was engaging, professional and provided a warm welcome. The only issue, which is really a personal option, the matress on the bed was very soft and provided little support.

I arrived obviously at a busy time. 4 waiting to check in when I arrived and four more after me. One staff member doing check ins and was having technical difficulties with equipment. He really did his best not his fault but why was he on his own at a busy time. Surely the hotel knows its peak hours and should staff accordingly. Hotel itself feels grubby and tired. Drained chairs by lifts etc. Restaurant and bar staff in particular excellent.

We arrived at 10:30pm to be told we couldn’t get a drink from the bar which is advertised to stay open until 11pm, the staff member didn’t offer us any alternative and was not friendly. The next morning for breakfast we arrived, no one greeted us so we found a table, as other people came they were serving themselves, we were very disappointed in the food, the eggs were over cooked, there were no fresh coffee cups and when my husband asked for one the staff member was annoyed and asked us for our room numbers to check us in for breakfast, however didn’t proceed to ask anyone else which made us feel like we inconvenienced her. They weren’t overly friendly and the customer experience was low.

We got into the motel at 9.30pm after a long day of travelling . Checked in and was given our room key. The room key we were given was for a room that already had someone staying in it!! We woke the other guests by trying to get into their room!! Poor form checking 2 different parties into the same room!! Was well after 10pm by the time we got to a new room….

Room was ok, shower was small, pillows were flat and only 1 extra available. Ordered an omelette for breakfast, I was standing waiting for the chef to serve me, one of the other employees came past and asked if I had been served, no I said I'd like an omelette please she says chef an omelette...the omelette came out and a sliced it and raw egg came out! I said something to the other employee about me not eating it and she just said oh...my husband got a late and paid $6 for it and it was pretty much full of foam...so not a good experience

The check in process was easy and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. However the food was very average and I even had to return it, which I don't normally do. When I did, the kitchen staff were rude and gave me stick and started slamming things around the kitchen like a couple of spoiled children. When my food arrived back it was worse that the first time, and to the point that it was uneatable. Im extremely disappointed with the rude and unprofessional response for something that would have been an easy fix but instead I received sheer laziness, incompetence and an unacceptable addit
