Great Hotel in a great location! Enjoyed the lobby as well

The location was great, rooms clean (albeit very dark), and the amenities and attention to detail very good. The on-site parking is very convenient (fee for parking) and free coffee/tea/fruit available 24/7 in the lobby. A continental breakfast is available in the lobby for an additional fee however there are a number of restaurants/cafes closeby as well. What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff and their dedication to ensuring the guest experience is a memorable one. When my husband became ill, Anne went out of her way to ensure I was able to get what we needed to help him be more comfortable. Benoit provided tremendous suggestions and advice about what to do during our visit and knew more than most concierge's we have met. When the hotel a/c failed on 2 of the hottest days of the summer, Eli was extremely attentive in making sure we had anything we needed to make the lack of a/c more bearable including fans and ice. Ernesto was very professional, spoke spanish to my husband and provided excellent front desk service. These staff are tremendous ambassadors for the brand & we would not hesitate to come back to this property again.

Staff was very professional and courteous, lobby area was very welcoming, enjoyed the fireplace that was well attended to. Coffee machine made excellent coffee and I really appreciated the oat milk option.

Everything was fine. However, keep in mind that the hotel does not have a kitchen. So room service and breakfast are limited.

This hotel was amazing. Extremely comfortable and cozy with a gorgeous fireplace to lounge by in the lobby. Perfect for a snowy winter day. The ambiance is extremely relaxing and I love the location. I would stay there again!

located in the lower city, along waterfront. 20 minute walk to Chateau (all uphill) very quiet location. very comfortable beds. staff was very nice and helpful. parking in small hotel lot (extra).. continental breakfast is available $19.00 pp. muffins, pastries, fruit, juice & coffee. convenient. there are several restaurants located nearby.

Very nice property that was conveniently located for the activities we wanted to do in Old City Quebec. No hotel restaurant, but plenty of options just steps away.

Parking is valet, but reasonable and right out the back of hotel and that is great. Wish they had ala carte breakfast and bona fide bar. Front desk staff acts as bartenders. Staff is very friendly and gym is good. Rooms are very dark and everything is black so hard to see in and find stuff sometimes. The location is fabulous.

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect– the pure joy of being treated as very valuable guests where every detail was carefully chosen, where the customers’ satisfaction is the pinnacle of the service. Located in the quiet street 5 minutes’ walk to the most charming Petit-Champlain and surrounded by beautiful cobblestones streets with abundance of art galleries, restaurants and antique shops. Old Port and the St. Lawrence River are also few minutes away. Rooms are spacious, with most comfortable beds; the toiletries are of the highest quality, bathrobes and sleepers, coffee and tea, even an umbrella. The service crew stops by every evening to replenish the cold icy water. There is a very cozy lobby where are coffee and tea are always available. Adorable outside patio leads to the hotel parking. There is no restaurant on the premises, but they offer a delicious small breakfast. Fantastic Front Desk team. Every single person we had a pleasure to interact with was extremely professional, genially interested in our comfort and satisfaction. Anne, Marianne, Alberto (apologies that I couldn’t remember all the names ) - these lovely courteous men and women gave us invaluable advices, suggested great restaurants, made reservations and overall just were there to assure that we were really happy with our stay. . This hotel was a cozy retreat during Carnaval. Our room (and bathroom) was spacious and spotless. The staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and there was always coffee and hot chocolate available. The location was terrific as well. Within a 10 minute walk of multiple wonderful restaurants.

We were in Room 405. It was great for sleeping, very quiet. There were other people on floor but never heard them once inside room. Very safe area even at night. Close to great restaurants within walking distance. Staff were very attentive. There were only 2 issues. The first was very minor. We had cobwebs hanging from the floor light and corner of ceiling above it. The second was a torn carpet which was a trip hazard between the bed and the bathroom. The room was otherwise clean. The breakfast was not worth the 19 dollars. There are many restaurants close to hotel where you can get a large hot breakfast for 12 to 15 dollars. Hotel has regular and decalf coffee available 24-7 which was greatly appreciated and very good.

We liked the Old Quebec location as well as the walkable neighborhood. The hotel was charming and kept well maintained. Our room was kept exceptionally clean and neat.

I like the convenience of the location and the convenience of being able to see the port and walk around old Quebec and nearby shops and restaurants. I’m also happy with the housekeeping services as they changed the bed sheets and provide new towels daily. I also enjoyed the comfortable bed and pillows as well as the complementary coffee and fruit flavoured water at the lobby. The ambiance of the hotel and the vibe was very relaxing! The decorations were beautiful and most importantly, the concierge and staff were very nice and accommodating! They called the taxi on our way back to take us to the airport and it arrived on time without any issues. Thank you so much for treating us so kindly and for the enjoyable stay we had at La Germain! We will never forget our amazing stay and experience at your hotel! It was a memorable one indeed! 😊

Charming hotel. Excellent location. Staff friendly and helpful. Problem was that our room was uncomfortably cold the entire three days of our stay — 18 degrees. Multiple calls to hotels staff to increase the temperature did not work. I would not stay here again.

Hotel building is charming and well located. The room was quite nice although a little dark.

Excellent service en tous points. Grande chambre confortable, 7 ieme etage, vue sur le fleuve…. Toutefois les chambres sont décorées en noir et gris. C’est tres sombre malgré toutes les lumières allumées. Difficile de lire.

This was a very nice and cute hotel with a friendly staff and a great location. However, our room's air conditioning never worked and the room was certainly hot. The fact that there was a floor fan in our room on the first day should have alerted us. When we asked reception the guy told us that the week before the a/c was fixed and that it took a couple of days to work properly but that an employee would check. Lies. Ac never worked and no one came and in fact another employee told us that rooms did not have working a/cs. During checkout we were comped with that days breakfast (which coincidetally was charged twice.

Liked everything except dark interiors and low lighting

We liked the historic nature of the building and the interior design as well as the lobby with all it's many seating areas and the beautiful and real wood burning fireplace. It was a great place to hang out. The room itself was also very spacious including our bathroom.

Quiet, clean and spacious rooms.

The hotel is wonderful and the location is great. But I have to say, the staff go above and beyond!! My daughter packed her electronics and then took them out to check something and forgot them in the room. Of course she did not notice until we got to the airport. Alberto and the other staff were so helpful in finding the items and getting them to us before we boarded our plane. We would definitely stay here again or any other locations. - the delicious chocolate on our pillow is also a plus and definitely sticks with you as well

The quality of the staff made a huge difference for us. An unexpected medical issue necessitated a call to an ambulance to transport us to the local hospital. Fortunately, the doctors were able to quickly help us, and after a few hours, we were able to walk back to the hospital. When we needed to summon help, the night staff was fast and attentive and later followed up. It was some of the best hosting I've ever experienced.

From the staff at reception to staff in and around the breakfast area and housekeeping each person was warm welcoming and helpful. How lovely to be treated to fresh water, a chocolate or macaroon, plenty of clean towels, a cosy robe and slippers, a comfy bed and hot shower after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The common areas were perfect to sit and enjoy the fire, read or relax and chat. Complimentary coffees, water and fruit always available. The most comfortable and friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Actually, I hate writing about a bad review The heating system did not work in the room We had to ask several times to get it fixed All they offered us was a little space heater Then the space heater caused an electrical shortage. We had to sit in the dark for three hours. They never offered us to get a new room. And to be quite honest when I told them when I was checking out, the clerk seemed annoyed When I go back to Back, I would not stay at this hotel The service overall was so so It’s too bad the hotel is in a great location Thanks.

Lovely hotel and wonderful staff. Very close to the 22 cruise port dock. We walked over with our luggage. .02 miles when you walk out the door of the cruise terminal.

Central to everything. Very walkable. Lots of history, shops and dining choices.

This was our first visit to Quebec city, and this hotel is an excellent location to walk to all the sites in the old city. Parking is available, but not free. Coffee is provided in the room. We did not utilize the dining options in the hotel. The rooms are lovely, and the staff is very nice and helpful. They were happy to help with recommendations for dining, etc. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff at reception were excellent. The location was very good, but didn't justify the price. The room was poorly lit and had very limited storage for clothes and personal items. The breakfast was limited and very over-priced. Car parking should have been included in the room rate.

Nice upscale boutique hotel in the old section of Quebec City. Very comfortable room with wonderful view of St. Laurence river, and very friendly service. Walking distance to restaurants and historical sites incl Plains of Abraham. Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast with great selection of delicious treats.

Loved this hotel and its location! Parking available at a cost but a car is not necessary to visit Old Quebec! Breakfast was delicious and very reasonable! Great location for walking and sightseeing!

Everything was fine. However, keep in mind that the hotel does not have a kitchen. So room service and breakfast are limited.

Hotel is in a good location but construction made it inaccessible for uber and cabs. No real bar or dining restaurant. Lights in my room were not all working. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is limited and costs $21.00 it should be complimentary given that it is continental breakfast. No free water bottle in room. No bell service and hard to enter front entrance with bags/luggage as it is all stairs. Also no food options available for in room dining. I won’t be staying here again.

Nice property. Good views from the room. Great breakfast (though it wasn't included in the base price). Very good dining options within walking distance. Concierge was helpful and efficient. My room needed a walk-in shower (had a tub with a high rim).
