There is no lift access from reception on level 5 - street level - to level 2 where we were accommodated. Having to go down several flights of stairs to access our rooms and then climb them again with luggage was really inconvenient! I cannot recommend this property to anyone of mature years!. I cannot see that it merits a 4 star rating for this reason.

I loved the view of the lake & mountains from my room. Such a magical sight to wake up to. My steak was cooked to perfection. Could taste the love in the food and the staff were very accommodating. The only improvement over all would be to update their guest laundry with new washing machines & dryers to facilitate the number of guests onsite.

Overall all was good. Did not like the $15 parking fee nightly. Fortunately found a park on street. Needs totally refurbishment but bed was very comfortable and it was toasty warm. Wonderful meals also.

It is getting a little dated but the view and position is perfect.. no real bar person just restaurant staff doing cocktails from a book.. but overall had a great stay and would consider coming back for sure

Good location, very walkable. Downside is reception staff over-selling the underground parking lots. Coming back and having to squeeze your car into either the electric vehicle slot or an unmarked space in the garage when you're paying 15/night for it is frustrating. Staff were fine. Building was fine.

Beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Close to Town. Walkable to everything in town. The room was quaint and cozy. The resort is older than some of the newer resorts nicely maintained. The lobby and restaurant has great views. No elevator available to some of the rooms so you will need to carry your luggage. They do have porters to assist. I would recommend this hotel and would return.

Disappointing from the start. Our room was not available even though we checked in on time. The room we were given instead was absolutely roasting hot and dirty. The toilet still had paper down it! The second room was better but tv remote didn’t work. Breakfast was very basic. This was the most expensive hotel of our trip - and by far the worst. Would not recommend this hotel.

Someone had clearly been smoking in our room and it reeked of cigarettes. We let the staff know who came by and sprayed the floor- didn’t make much difference. We slept with the window open. Property is a bit dated but very comfortable. Aside from the smoke smell, would recommend for sure.

Room was not spotless had not been hoovered before my arrival and not dusted or hoovered during my stay. Changed towels made bed and replenished refreshments only. Sadly as a solo traveller at breakfast I found my table was cleared whilst I was waiting for hot food to be replenished by the waiting staff, despite leaving a water bottle on the table.

My room had a stunning view. Hotel is in a great location, I didn’t need a car, I walked everywhere. It’s a big hotel so staff isn’t too friendly or eager to help. It was clean - enough. At least in the important areas - bed and bathroom. Corners of my windows had cob webs and at some point a former guest had finger drew some pictures in the dust on the glass - which looks out at the view so hard to miss. Also, it’s hard to describe the weirdness of the hallways to the rooms - you go from a nice lobby to…damaged hallway walls and a 1970’s feel. They are also very long. It was good for what it is.

The building grounds and staff all seemed lovely. it was an odd arrangement of buildings too navigate but all was fine until we went to bed to find that the sheets under the made bed were obviously not clean. someone came up and changed the bed immediately he was kind efficient and apologetic but we were still taken aback. The next day at check out the front desk didn't seem to be aware this had happened at all.

You could hear showers and toilets flushing from neighboring rooms, not very well insulated. It was somewhat difficult to navigate the different levels and "blocks" that comprise the hotel. The lake view was beautiful.

Paid extra for a lake view balcony room and the views were good. I paid at the property but was charged in GBP which ended up with a charge of £40 higher than the NZ$ rate. The room was uncomfortably hot at night with no air conditioning, just a floor standing fan. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bit dated. Staff helpful.

No aircon, we had 3 pple in room & each day had to ring for a 3rd towel they kept leaving 2 only. Beware you have to park on road which can be very hard finding a park or $15 a night for their carpark but we were then told we couldn’t as we had a van & it was too high. Very noisy pple at night & early morning with room doors banging, sounds like its your bedroom door. Slamming. Note it is walkable to town but note it is quite a steep hill. Very comfy beds though

My room was in need of updating. The blackout curtains were old and torn. Wallpaper was starting to peel in places. Wifi would connect but not work at all. Bathroom was clearly recently renovated. Room needed similar updates. Hallways were not well insulated throughout the hotel and it was drafty. Views were stunning and very convenient to downtown Queenstown.

The property is in a great location a block away from the beach and about five minutes from downtown Queenstown! The one negative I have about the property is the Wi-Fi. It was completely unusable, I just relied on my cell phone service. I would not stay here again based on how bad the Wi-Fi was.

Loved the staff, helpful as due to the size of hotel we had to get directions a couple of times from the lobby to our room in another block/ wing of the hotel. Staff provided a map and other and staff were helpful when asked. The view from our room was gorgeous of the mountains. There is path through a local park which is close by that you can take to the center of Queenstown with restaurants and stores. Ate a couple of times at on site restaurant and service and food was good.

We stayed 3 nights and it was a perfect location for us. It is about a 5 minute walk from downtown Queenstown and the walk into the town is along a beautiful walking path that leads right to the lake. Upon checkin we were given a plethora of great information, how to park (we paid the extra $15 a night for garage access that you can come and go from as much as you like otherwise you can play the game of free street parking) and a bellman met us in the parking garage to show us to our room because the property is sprawling and quite large and can be hard to find your way at times. The room was big enough for us not to feel cramped for our 3 nights. We have a stunning view right outside on the ground level of mountains and the lake. One of our favorite spots to end the night was the restaurant/lounge up top that showed more beautiful views. The food was good, gave enough choices and the bar was easy. The staff was incredibly lovely and accommodating! Would certainly stay here again.

Good walking distance from town centre. Ordered food and drink and was waiting 50 minutes for drinks which should’ve taken 10 at the most. It wasn’t a busy night. When reminded of our order the staff still took another 15-20 to make it as.

Checked in just after 2pm, there was only one person on the desk and im assuming she was still learning as she wasn't very confident in what she was doing. We had booked two rooms and requested the second room have 2 beds. This didn't happen. Got to our rooms and they were so stuffy and warm. No air-conditioning, just a desk fan. Room was a good size and had a great view. Walking distance to the waterfront. Buffet breakfast was ok for the price.

Room was pretty nice, but we had an issue with the fan in the bathroom, it would not go off, so we called reception and the guy said it will go off after 10 minutes or so, but it did not go off, so we spoke to reception again and the guy said nothing he can do as he was on his own and basically refused to come to the room, we finally got to sleep after a few hours but it stayed on all night, we can out of our room and the electrician onsite was there dnd we told him and he said he would make note of it, then as we went to the next level the housekeeping manager was there and we mentioned to him and he said I bet that was a pain, he said speak with the duty manager who was on reception and she basically said they are on all night, some are louder than others, we don’t know which ones are louder, we mentioned that we had spoken to the guy on reception the night before and that he would not come down to our room and she even said he was not on his own do could have popped to our room, basically it seems nobody knows that the fans are on all night, the staff will not come and help and refuse to come and help, they lie and say they are on there own to get out of coming, and after telling the lady duty manager all this she really did not want to know, she gave us an very lose apology and that was it, didn’t care that the staff had lied to us, I stay in loads of hotels every year and we were looking forward to a night here, if loud fans affect you sleeping do not stop here please!!

The positives were: Jasper and CK were very helpful and polite. The hotel is in a good location. Some of the male staff need a refresher in how to speak with customers. They act as if they are doing you a favour by allowing you to stay at the hotel. Room is very basic, nothing special considering what you are paying. Once asked, cleaning services did a good job. It is not customer’s responsibility to ask. Had a lake view room and you are not even provided a chair to sit outside and enjoy the view. This has the potential to be a fantastic hotel if they pulled everything together.

The Hotel was not up to the standard i thought it was. Check in was ok but it took too long and i felt the receptionist Maiko didnt really know what she was doing. The room was definitely worth the price but the view was stunning. I didnt like the shower over the bath it was difficult for my elderley husband to manage. Overall i didnt find the staff very friendly and when i went to chack out the receptionist english lady no name badge)and another chap behind the desk ignored for about 5 minutes which i thought was really rude. So overall poor customer service and a below average hotel that needs ugrading!

Great hotel in a great spot. We paid for a lake view and so glad we did - view is spectacular. If you have an issue with hills it is quite a steep one from the hotel into the centre of town and back but we were fine.

Easy to walk to town centre.....downhill! Not so easy walking back up, but there is a good bus service right up the hill from Stanley Street and it is easy to get a Bee card, which can be used in many places. Combine that with the Entertainment App and good savings can be made.

Beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Close to Town. Walkable to everything in town. The room was quaint and cozy. The resort is older than some of the newer resorts nicely maintained. The lobby and restaurant has great views. No elevator available to some of the rooms so you will need to carry your luggage. They do have porters to assist. I would recommend this hotel and would return.

It is about a 5 minute walk from downtown Queenstown and the walk into the town is along a beautiful walking path that leads right to the lake. Upon checkin we were given a plethora of great information, how to park (we paid the extra $15 a night for garage access that you can come and go from as much as you like otherwise you can play the game of free street parking) and a bellman met us in the parking garage to show us to our room because the property is sprawling and quite large and can be hard to find your way at times. The room was big enough for us not to feel cramped for our 3 nights. We have a stunning view right outside on the ground level of mountains and the lake. One of our favorite spots to end the night was the restaurant/lounge up top that showed more beautiful views. The food was good, gave enough choices and the bar was easy. The staff was incredibly lovely and accommodating! Would certainly stay here again.

Good walking distance from town centre. Ordered food and drink and was waiting 50 minutes for drinks which should’ve taken 10 at the most. It wasn’t a busy night. When reminded of our order the staff still took another 15-20 to make it as.

The room we booked had fantastic views of the lake and mountains. Reception area was quite smart and impressive. The soft furnishings within the room had a fusty smell which was a let down. On day of departure we were repeatedly unable to enter our room after breakfast (before 0900) although we had made reception aware. Ben in the restaurant was very competent, helpful and friendly. Thanks for your hospitality.

I loved the view of the lake & mountains from my room. Such a magical sight to wake up to. My steak was cooked to perfection. Could taste the love in the food and the staff were very accommodating. The only improvement over all would be to update their guest laundry with new washing machines & dryers to facilitate the number of guests onsite.

For the price we paid, this hotel was lacking. The breakfast buffet was just not good. Like barely decent. And even though we had prepaid for the breakfast, by day 3 we skipped it altogether. Just so very blah. And also, the cleaning crew came around 6pm and 4pm respectively both. Nights, as in when we had returned from a day being out, our room still hadn’t been cleaned.
