Rooms above a nightclub, probably would skip next time.

Awesome property and staff. Only issue is that we needed to pick a few people up from a wedding and our car was blocked into the carpark by staff cars/other patrons. Which is strange considering there’s a sign that says private parking, vehicles may be towed. We were stuck at our hotel parking all of Saturday night

Rated st 2 star online but i rated it more 3 to 3.5 star. The only thing i didn't like was there is no access via lift only steep stairs as an older person it gets harder. But i will definitely stay with you again and cope with them stairs

Not enough parking space, too hard to find the entrance of parking space of the hotel you have to go around at the back of the hotel, very noisy to loud the karaoke, very noisy can’t sleep, the room where we stayed the toilet will flush but you have to wait for awhiles before you use it again other wise it won’t flush it straightaway very inconvenient over all, and the room it’s seem smells,

Finding the car park was a little difficult. But all in all very happy with our stay.

Comfortable and clean room. Excellent customer service and we enjoyed dinner at the pub. If you arrive late don’t expect you’ll be able to get parking on-site, and bring good earplugs because the nightclub is pumping until 2am.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Harp hotel. I like it because it is economical, and centrally located with plenty of onsite parking. I buy breakfast at a good cafe nearby on Crown St.

The property is secure. Rooms are up a flight of stairs, so may not suit if you have mobility issues. No lift. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday nights. There is lots of music from the downstairs venue. So may not suit you if you want a quieter venue. Overall very clean room.

What is not disclosed is that this hotel is actually a pub hotel with the weekends turning into a nightclub and karaoke every evening. The hotel space of the building has heavy smell of cleaning and air fresheners that made me nauseous

The room was very comfortable. There was a nightclub below abs main road outside, but that considered, it was quiet. Two minor issues, firstly, there’s were dead cockroaches in the bathroom and the flow of the shower was extremely poor. Had a rain showerhead but no pressure, water was just a dribble

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was as described, clean and smelt fresh. No hassle stay

The property was exactly as expected from the photos and description, no hidden surprises. The room was extremely clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The staff were very helpful and I would definitely stay at the Harp again.

Venue is a nightclub in the evening which is fine but the window in the room is into a storeroom and the bathroom mould was disgusting. Seriously over priced for what it was. Staff at check in were lovely.

There was no top sheet on the bed. Just mattress cover and doona. Seems very unhygienic. There were balls of matted hair on the floor.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was good with lovely linen. There was some noise from the pub downstairs but our room was at the back of the hotel so it wasn’t loud and didn’t bother us.

Good location, walking distance from the beach. It is a party place. They supply ear plugs, so it is ok. It is clean. but a really strong smell of cleaning chemicals is in the corridors. Sensitive nose be aware... It is not as bad in the room. Clean

The room was good and it was good for us. It was a bit noisy on both Friday and Saturday nights but that’s to be expected while staying in a hotel.

I booked this hotel pretty last minute. I was performing at the Illawarra Performing Arts Center, just around the corner. I had read the reviews about the loud music late at night. I knew this would not be a problem for me, as I myself would be getting to sleep late at night after my show. The reviews were correct, the music is pretty loud until about 2am. They do provide ear plugs though, so good for them! The bed and sheets were amazing, super comfy, 10/10 for the bed, sheets and towels! The hot water in the shower was a little temperamental but lucky for me, I am not fussy when it comes to that. Overall, best choice in town for location, price and comfort. I looked at another cheaper hotel that had a shared bathroom and no air conditioning........ what in the world?! This was definitely worth the price difference between that hotel and this one!!

It fsced a busy street but was well insulated so the noice was hardly recognised. The bed blanket (duan) was a but thick and warm for the time if the year. (March) Overall a nice hotel that we can recommend. Walking distance to shopps and the central beach.

Good for the price but constant switching on and off of low pitched noise of machinery kept me awake. I assume it was to keep the beer etc cool. It wasn't the air conditioner which did a good job.

Ok I made a mistake by booking a double room, thinking as always you get a bed big enough. Sadly not! My husband it 5'9 so need I say what we experienced. Tv keptwd switching off could not sign into netflix. I requested a Queen bed, they were booked out. I asked if I could get a refund for the 2nd night. I have to go directly who I booked with. But worse of all I gave it to my daughter for the 2nd night as we were there for a tournament and they rebooked our room. What right did they have without making a call to me, So hopefully I get a tefund.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming on check in, check out was easy. The room was great 😊 nice bathroom and super comfy bed. The blinds blacked out everything, we could have slept all day if we didn’t set an alarm.

Old building, but well contained. Good location. Enough space for car parking. But as my opinion, they need more staff or improve their service. We requested new towels around 14:00 but reception staff said they don't have any towels at reception and no access to housekeeping room either, so they can't provide new towels for us. I can understand staff was busy, because they need to manage bar as well, but I can't understand they even can't provide new towels. And we borrowed kettle from reception but it was mould so we requested to change another kettle, and staff told us that they will bring new one for us. We wait 30 minutes and they deliver kettle but it was same one. We just used it because we don't want to wait anymore. Maybe they don't have more but it was bad experience. It was good room and pretty good location, but I'm not sure I will come back here.

very clean and tidy, lovely staff. was unable to get through to them for a late check in, phone kept ringing out - the website said reception was staffed at the time I called. Parking was a little tricky to get to for someone who had never been there before. however, all the staff were very helpful

The room was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend earplugs, as stated the hotel is above a busy bar and nightclub which is open until 2am. And you will hear it! The hotel ‘reception’ (if you can call it that) is in the bar itself, so when arriving in the evening with your suitcase bear in mind you have to trundle everything through it. I waited around 20minutes to get checked in as they were favouring the bar over the reception (a tiny spot at the end of the bar) so the more people who wanted drinks, the longer I waited.

The air was effective. The room very clean and well serviced. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Chloe in particular was wonderful. Extremely efficient and considerate. She arranged a taxi for us and checked on us while waiting offering an umbrella if required. A valuable and pleasant young lady. The stay was comfortable, all needs met. Parking space could have been allocated to ensure space. Well done Harp

The location is central to everything, perfect for a Wollongong city get away

Good value at the price. Well located with a variety of cafe’s & restaurants close by. Not far to the beach Free parking spot right outside. Rooms are fairly small but clean & functional. Unit is self contained with all basic amenities

We had a great stay! I was worried when booking that noise might be an issue, but we had two nights of sound sleeping and no problems. Staff were very friendly and easy parking around the back of the building. Excellently located close to the beach and dining options. I would stay here again!

Booked room for Cold Chisel 50th anniversary at WIN Entertainment Centre. Harp was closest reasonably priced accommodation. Knew that some patrons had noise issues as Harp is a Karaoke venue 7 nights a week until 2AM. Harp makes no secret of this, warns customers and provides complimentary ear plugs. Some reviewers had also said that it is difficult to get to the parking lot at the rear of the hotel. As the date of the concert approached, these negative reviews began to worry me and I considered exercising my free cancellation option and looking elsewhere. However, there was no “elsewhere” under $500 a night so I decided to take my chances. I expected a poor night’ sleep with hotel management confirming my belief that the bars and karaoke would be full of concert patrons after the gig. Yes I could hear karaoke but nowhere near the volume mentioned in online reviews. It was just background noise requiring deliberate effort to figure out what the songs were. No need for ear plugs. I fired up YouTube on TV, found a white noise video (breaking waves) and set the timer for 60 minutes. Slept quite well in the very comfortable bed with perfect room temperature. As mentioned in the tick and flick section, staff were great, room was spotless and well equipped, and Google maps (Waze) directed me easily to the parking lot. In the end, great value for money and if I find myself heading to the WIN Entertainment Centre again I would happily stay again.

The lady at the bar who gave us our keys, etc was very helpful and very nice. Having the restaurant delivering food which was great was also a bonus. Fantastic stay, thanks

I was expecting some noise - after all, the hotel is above a pub and on a busy street. What a pleasant surprise to have such a quiet night (Monday), comfortable bed and convenient location for the best price in Wollongong. I would definitely stay here again. Bonus - just around the corner, Lower East Cafe. Great coffee & food!

The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom was modern and roomy. Everything needed for a stay in Wollongong. There are plenty of great restaurants within steps of the Harp. It was hard to choose what to eat for dinner. The staff were friendly and professional. It’s at the back of the pub with secure access to the rooms so feel quite safe. Parking available which is a plus for Wollongong. Enjoyed my stay.
