Friendly staff, amazing hotel with beautiful views, and in the perfect location to walk the city! Breakfast buffet, rooftop cocktail bar & pool, lobby bar & restaurant on the plaza were relaxing spaces to spend time in addition to lovely rooms when not touring. SMN train station makes day trips from Florence so easy. I wish we could’ve spent our entire trip in Italy based right here!

Cramped rooms for the price for $650 per night. Nickel and dimed for everything. No ice makers so I call room service for a bucket of ice and get billed 14 Euros. Low quality glass of prosecco at rooftop bar; 22 Euros. Pool was freezing cold. Convenient location.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Minerva for three nights during our honeymoon to explore Florence for the first time. The hotel was in a great location - walking distance to all the main attractions, close to the train station for easy travel, but still quiet and peaceful. The hotel kindly provided biscotti as a treat for this being part of our honeymoon. The hotel was clean and the view from the rooftop was beautiful. However the breakfast wasn’t great, and the food and drink on offer at the hotel was extortionate. For example, 15€ for a 330mL Peroni, with cocktails over 20€ each. This is particularly frustrating after paying so much money to stay there in the first place. One of the reasons we booked the hotel was due to the rooftop pool, but unfortunately on the hot day we went to use it, we found it to be extremely cold and therefore barely in use. It would have been nice to relax on the rooftop but without racking up a huge drinks bill, this unfortunately wasn’t possible as outside food and drink can’t be consumed there either. Overall we would recommend looking elsewhere for better value for money. With Florence being a relatively small city, there are lots of other places to choose from that would still be well located for the main attractions.

An upmarket hotel in an excellent location in the centre of Florence. The rooftop swimming pool with a view towards the Duomo and many other magnificent landmarks is a lovely place to refresh after a busy day’s sightseeing!

This location was excellent and the hotel was such a great property. From the incredible breakfast, to the rooftop bar and pool, our family thought it was the perfect place to stay and enjoy the beauty of Florence. You can walk to every major spot in town! Highly recommend!

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I was expecting so much more for the amount of money I paid per night. The air conditioning in the lobby and elevator are pretty much non existent. The staff is also not that friendly. We paid a lot of money to stay here and they did not even clean our room. Even after my husband specifically went down and asked them to do it while we were at dinner. Also, the hotel does not have an iron in the room, so they charge you to iron your clothes. I would not recommend staying here.

They took incredible care of both my daughter and me, and I will always be grateful for how seamless they made the entire experience. The room was one of the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. It was spotless, immaculate, and so thoughtfully designed that it felt warm, inviting, and truly elevated. The staff was exceptional, and the amenities were equally impressive. The multi-level rooftops were a true highlight, offering incredible views of Florence, including the Duomo, but it is only one of many stunning areas throughout the property. Every space feels elegant and welcoming. The hotel is also within walking distance of amazing sites, shops, and restaurants, which made exploring the city very easy. This hotel is great, the piazza is wide and clean, and it's a very close walk to Florence's train station if you're arriving by train. You can easily roll all your large suitcases there and back from the station to the hotel. The views of the square from your room are great, and even if you don't have one the roof pool deck is classy and the views are amazing.

Overall, the hotel was a great location and comfortable. The building is historic but really needs and interior facelift to command high rates. The bathroom was poorly designed for a couple to share. The bathtub-shower combination extremely dangerous. Service was excellent so overall nice stay.

Location of the hotel is convenient. Tourist attractions are walkable as well as the main train station. However, I was disappointed because I was given a 2 single bed that was put together causing backache for 2 nights instead of double bed. There’s no free bottle water as well. Not worth for the price paid! Even 5 star hotels provide coffee and free bottle water for guests!

A bumpy start with a stellar finish. My room was facing the square and was incredibly quiet and peaceful. I felt safe sleeping with the window open, breeze coming in. One night with a magical thunder & lightening storm. I slept better there than any other location on my lengthy trip. Hot water and great water pressure A But, the best part was the staff and the people. I wish that I could name them all. The booking manager went out of his way to assist with a booking error that was all my fault. Quite an ordeal for him to correct. I am grateful. The front end manager took care of a room issue upon arrival and went above and beyond to make it better than okay... Specifically, two of the people that helped with room service were gracious and kind. It's wonderful to be greeted with that energy first thing in the morning. The restaurant and bar staff were kind, friendly and helpful daily. They really made me feel welcome and at home in Florence. The food is exceptional. You mist try the chocolate chip cookies and chocolate croissant- better than France I don't normally care for chocolate and these were a favorite! The touch of salt in the cookie and crispness at the edge! Masterful! The breakfast buffet is A Beautifully displayed, large variety of options- FRESH! I had 3 dinners onsite- I loved the chicken Cesar salad. Pasta was delicate with complex flavors...Room service for breakfast made working from my room and a slow pace in the morning essential for the ease

We really like the location and the staffs. Especially, Marrianna K is so helpful, She goes above and beyond her duties.She helped us so much from the time we checked in, reserving all the restaurants, the driver for the outing. She is so kind and patience. Leornado Palerma is also very helpful and friendly too. We will go back to this hotel again if we visit Florence. the breakfast is fantastic and its healthy. Les bons côtés : L’hotel bénéficie d’une situation géographique parfaite, à deux pas de la gare et aux portes du coeur historique de la ville, à 5 minutes à pied des principaux sites à visiter. Le bar en rooftop est également très sympathique avec une très belle vue sur le duomo. Le personnel est très aimable et serviable. Les mauvais côtés : Nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une chambre plutôt vétuste avec de toutes petites lucarnes en guise de fenêtre (qui ne donnaient sur rien). La literie était d’un autre âge, en particulier le canapé lit extrêmement inconfortable. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est très cher pour des plats plutôt médiocres (mais un très bon service), les vins sont hors de prix. Le petit déjeuner n’est absolument pas à la hauteur d’un hôtel de ce standing, ni par le choix ni par la qualité. A noter : le statut silver ne nous a pas donné accès à la moindre prestation supplémentaire. En conclusion : nous reviendrons très probablement à Florence, mais nous chercherons un autre hôtel

We had a wonderful time and the staff all took very good care of us. It was actually hard to leave Florence for so many reasons and this lovely hotel and its people were a large part of our Florence experience. Food at breakfast and in the Restaurant was very good and so welcoming after a long day out seeing the sites. We hope to return some day.
