We decided to try a different area of Florence and chose this for the spa. It did not disappoint. There is a large sauna and hot tub/pool. Be sure to make a reservation before you get there because you need reservations for the sauna/pool area. We loved the area around the hotel. There were great restaurants and shopping.

This is a beautiful hotel with a nice breakfast and a gorgeous spa. You have to reserve the pool because it is small. The staff was very welcoming and our room was lovely with a little private patio area. It was in a great location too.

Absolutely beautiful property. From the spacious rooms to the stunning courtyard and not to mention the relaxing spa/pool facilities. Its proximity to a lot of sights and restaurants was really good. And of course the staff were so very helpful and attentive. Special thanks to Camillia for all her care and service to our group. Love, love, love this little sanctuary. Out of our three hotels we stayed at, this was our most favourite. Would not hesitate to come back for future Florence trips! Thank you! 🙏

Great property in a fantastic location to walk the streets of Florence. Courtyard is gorgeous for drinks and breakfast and small Spa a plus. Not on the prettiest of streets but not really an issue as you can find them only minutes away. Overall a great stay and would recommend.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were welcoming and extremely friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us. This hotel was perfect for our 4 nights exploring the delights of Florence. Well positioned for all the major sights and close to so many restaurants and bars that we were spoiled for choice. Nice and close to the train station for transfers to the airport. It is walkable, but as it was very hot and humid, we did taxi to the train station when we left on travel home day. Hotel reception ordered this for us and the taxi was there in less than 5 minutes - perfect! Hotel room was well equipped, the bed comfortable and we had every bathroom amenity we possibly could’ve needed. We did ask for a fan for the room in addition to the A/C as it was very hot during our stay and we prefer a cool room when we sleep. Again, this was no problem and was with us very quickly and made the difference. The spa and pool area, although small was very welcome when we returned after our sightseeing. You do need to book a slot for this with reception, but it was a lovely bit of downtime you don’t often get in a city hotel. We had breakfast daily, which was lovely and set us up nicely for the day. Plenty of choice and tasty too. We did have cocktails and dinner at the restaurant which again, were great. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning there when we visit again.

Je réserve une dizaine d hôtel par an avec expedia J ai du faire 3 fois ma réservation avec expedia car les 2 premieres fois l hôtel pourtant vip ne voulait pas reconnaître le statut gold Lors de la 3’ réservation j ai fais des copies d’écran a chaque étape et un mail pour confirmer que la c était bon La réponse fut oui par mail Mais lors de mon arrivée on me dit votre réservation est hors les petits déjeuné alors que j avais pris avec petit déjeuner Dans cette gamme d hotel c est lamentable !! Je leur ai dit de voir avec expedia en leur montrant la copie de ma réservation qui indique avec petit déjeuner Le problème fut régler Mais lors du départ nouvel blague Le statut gold donne droit à 20 % sur les services du spa Vu que l hôtel semblait pas sérieux j avais fait confirmer par mail Mais la on me dit non pas de remise c est que sur les soins pas les massages Alors que j avais un mail et la voie d ecran du statut gold expedia C est soit de l incompétence soit de la malhonnêteté à ce niveaux là du nombre d erreur Jamais vu cela en 30 ans d hotel !!! Ce n est pas une question de montant mais de principe à 52 ans personne ne m a encore volé !! Excellent hotel, great breakfast and great staff. Internet in our room was super slow and at times not working, but in the lobby and garden it was very gas and efficient. Rooms are spacious, very clean and very quiet and comfortable.

Staff was very friendly and lovely. Room was much smaller than it appeared in photos. There was mildew in the shower which was off putting. Room also smelled like smoke, and air conditioning turned off when key card wasn’t inserted, so upon arrival the smell was very strong. Not an awful experience, but don’t think I would go again.

The hotel has a modern upscale vibe in an old city. It is equipped with a spa.The hot tub was not hot oddly enough. The massage was good, but on the expensive side. The front desk is top notch. The ladies are very knowledgeable and speak several languages. They are very helpful and Asia made great dinner recommendations. The room was nice, but cold. The hotel itself has the ability to shut off the heat and does do that at night. The shower was poorly designed. It had a gap at the bottom where the door closes. Everytime you shower water leaks out onto the floor. The floor board just outside the shower door is loose and wet. There was definitely a small mold problem became of this. The breakfast was a large spread each morning. It was a great way to start the day.

The staff at this hotel was wonderful; they were very accommodating. My complaint would be that it was kind of loud with furniture moving. I'm not sure what was going on with this. Also, we were upgraded but charged for the upgrade. I would have thought this was free, as we are VIP Expedia members.

Nice hotel. Our room was comfortable but small although we had a very spacious terrace so this offset the room size. The room had everything necessary including a nice bathroom, comfortable bed and adequate storage space.

I did tons of research before Florence. This hotel was highly rated + a good price + an amazing location, so we went for it! I so wanted to LOVE it but hated it at first and then it grew on me. I have listed all the pro's & cons below and the pros far outweigh the cons. FYI - this is based on our room, the Bruneschelli Suite, room 308. Pros: * Very warm & friendly staff * Amazing breakfast both hot & cold selections - eggs, bacon, breads, pastries, yogurts - everything you could want! Plus fabulous cappuccino! * They do a teatime with pastries, cakes & tea @ 5pm which is a nice pick me up after a long day of sightseeing. * Great location: 5-minute walk to SMN train & the Duomo * Great water pressure in shower, water gets nice & hot * Super comfortable bed! * BEAUTIFUL view of Duomo & hotel gardens * Plenty of closet space w/hangers & shelves * Safe & mini-fridge in the room Cons: * In the Bruneschelli Suite, there are VERY steep stairs (like 10 or so) leading up to bedroom. This was NOT mentioned in room description online. * NO bathroom upstairs so if you have to go in the middle of the night…good luck! * Thermostat is hard to work, room gets very warm * There is no real lobby in the hotel, just a couch by the front door.

Absolutely beautiful property. From the spacious rooms to the stunning courtyard and not to mention the relaxing spa/pool facilities. Its proximity to a lot of sights and restaurants was really good. And of course the staff were so very helpful and attentive. Special thanks to Camillia for all her care and service to our group. Love, love, love this little sanctuary. The hotel has a modern upscale vibe in an old city. It is equipped with a spa.The hot tub was not hot oddly enough. The massage was good, but on the expensive side. The front desk is top notch. The ladies are very knowledgeable and speak several languages. They are very helpful and Asia made great dinner recommendations. The room was nice, but cold. The hotel itself has the ability to shut off the heat and does do that at night. The shower was poorly designed. It had a gap at the bottom where the door closes. Everytime you shower water leaks out onto the floor. The floor board just outside the shower door is loose and wet. There was definitely a small mold problem became of this. The breakfast was a large spread each morning. It was a great way to start the day.

We stayed at the Palazzo Castri 1874 for 4 nights in May 2023. Easy walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. Nice view of the Duomo from our room. Really good included breakfast every morning. Spa looked fantastic, although we didn't have a chance to use it. Pretty good location. Clean rooms.

The staff at this hotel was wonderful; they were very accommodating. My complaint would be that it was kind of loud with furniture moving. I'm not sure what was going on with this. Also, we were upgraded but charged for the upgrade. I would have thought this was free, as we are VIP Expedia members.

We had an amazing time. 7 glorious days. When we checked in, it was in the middle of a heat wave. The air-conditioning in one of the rooms was struggling and sounded like a muted car alarm, but the staff were amazing and moved our daughter to a temporary room for one night and then a permanent room for the remainder of our stay. That was the only blip and it was fixed instantly. Perfect The staff were amazing. So friendly. They helped us with our Italian. The location was perfect. The garden and spa were great. The breakfast was also next level and a perfect start to the day. By the end of our stay the staff knew our coffee orders. Thank you! Even though we have now done most of the sites in Florence we will probably go again because of the hotel.

The hotel was emall and intimate. The staff new who we were by the 2nd day. The front desk was responsive. They were helpful with transfers, and tours. Breakfast was never disappointing. We will return.

I loved the rooms at this hotel as well as how accommodating the staff were. I felt line this hotel gave us a perfect balance of the modern feel mixed with the Italian feel. I also loved the location and being able to walk to restaurants and some nightlife. My only gripe with the hotel was that the breakfast was always cold no matter how early I went down. Maybe that’s the way Italians eat their breakfast but I wasn’t a fan of that. And lastly we paid for spa access and we did get that but access to a masseuse for two people seem a little limited during our short 4 day stay.

The garden area is pretty and quiet (except for the dulcet sound of the bells from the Duomo. Dolce vita!). The pool is small, but we weren’t there to swim, and pools are hard to find period in Europe. Close to all of the sites (walking distance). Didn’t try the spa, but that probably adds to the experience. Yeah, I’d go back for sure.

The half board for those that were like me includes both breakfast and dinner. At dinner you can also ask for the lunch menu is you want a simpler option. The service was fantastic. The room was clean. Highly recommend!! And a huge shout out to Camilla the night server who is absolutely amazing.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were welcoming and extremely friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us. This hotel was perfect for our 4 nights exploring the delights of Florence. Well positioned for all the major sights and close to so many restaurants and bars that we were spoiled for choice. Nice and close to the train station for transfers to the airport. It is walkable, but as it was very hot and humid, we did taxi to the train station when we left on travel home day. Hotel reception ordered this for us and the taxi was there in less than 5 minutes - perfect! Hotel room was well equipped, the bed comfortable and we had every bathroom amenity we possibly could’ve needed. We did ask for a fan for the room in addition to the A/C as it was very hot during our stay and we prefer a cool room when we sleep. Again, this was no problem and was with us very quickly and made the difference. The spa and pool area, although small was very welcome when we returned after our sightseeing. You do need to book a slot for this with reception, but it was a lovely bit of downtime you don’t often get in a city hotel. We had breakfast daily, which was lovely and set us up nicely for the day. Plenty of choice and tasty too. We did have cocktails and dinner at the restaurant which again, were great. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning there when we visit again.

Fantastic oasis in the centre of Florence, quiet street at the front but the real winner is gardens at the back, 10-15 min walk to everything with wine windows on the way. Five stars all the way. This hotel was clean and beautiful. The outdoor garden was great to experience, given the general lack of green spaces within the city of Florence. The breakfast, which was included in the price of our stay, was high quality and delicious. All staff were professional and friendly and we loved our stay.
