Very old hotel. Noise when walk on room floor. No shower curtain, so whole bathroom get wet. Only cold tiles on bathroom florr, - no heating. Quite small breakfast buffet, - boring when you stay longer. Perfect distance to everything in old town Florence

Hôtel très bien situé proche des sites à visiter. Petit déjeuner bien mais si on reste plusieurs jours manque de variétés. Si vous le choisissez pour le parking il n’y en a pas, ils ne font que vous donner le noms de certains et c’est à vous de vous débrouiller pour réserver. Malgré cela je le recommande bon rapport qualité prix

Lugar ruim para quem alugou um carro pois esta dentro de uma área de trafego limitado. O staff não te avisa. Por sorte tinha acabado de sair de Siena e aprendi um pouco que isso existe. Ao entrar em Florença dei de cara com a placa da ZTL. Parei e liguei para o hotel. Só ai que me explicaram o que fazer. Tem que ir até um estacionamento em outra rua que custa €24/dia. Café da manhã razoável.

It was a great location but it’s old. The parking is off site a several blocks down the road at a public parking garage. We arrived at 0300 after having a problem at another hotel we booked through hotels.com. The AC didn’t work in the first room we were given. The second room was smaller but fine for the 3 people staying in the room. There was a tub and a handheld shower but no walls on the tub to prevent water from getting out onto the floor. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Bed was hard and not sure if the sheets were changed after the last guest.

My mom & I loved our stay here. Mom has mobility issues so the elevator came in handy. It was also a close enough walk to the duomo for an easy walk for us both. The hotel itself was lovely and this was the first hotel we stayed in our Europe trip where the breakfast was included. The staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Overall pleasant. Bed was comfortable, generous storage space in the room. Enjoyed the extended breakfast hours. We recommend placing seating in the front lobby. Also the showers need a horizontal surface off the ground to place shampoo, shaver, etc.

Toilet did not flush and the shower did not drain. We were given two twins when we booked a double. We asked to switch rooms upon noticing the shower issue and staff was abrasive and did not provide a solution. They said there were no more rooms and they could have a repair man come in the morning. They inquired why we were unhappy with the room after we told them the issues. We didn’t even mention the mold and peeling wallpaper in the room. The next morning they allowed us to move to a new room. This room had the bed we requested but the shower also did not drain. The door to the new room was nearly impossible to unlock and open and staff had to help us open the door. The hotel was not secure. We had to leave our room key at the desk when we left, but upon returning, all we had to give was our room number to be given access to the key, no security check to confirm our identity matched the name. Anyone could have walked in and said a room number and got the key to that room! Don’t stay here!

Staff very nice helpfull , breakfast was jut as we like it variation and pleanty. A special thanks to Cimonetta at the breakfast made it even more nice to eat breakfast. Nect time we go to Florence we we stay here , buy take a larger room. Double standard is not the standard we are use to, but it as ok, and very clean, thank you to the staff of cleaning.

The room was very clean and daily housekeeping, so nice to come back to a tidy room and bed made. Employees all spoke at least enough English to accommodate a non Italian speaker. They have an arrangement with a taxi service and were kind enough to book a taxi for my very early flight (7am). Excellent location in the heart of the city center and with a very good price.

Good location, close to the centre of Florence. The furniture is slightly outdated, and the beds were very thin and could use some upgrading. The included breakfast was a nice touch to start the day, as well, the consistent and timely housekeeping was appreciated. Otherwise, an okay place to stay!

We tremendously enjoyed staying at the hotel Martelli for three nights. Our room was clean and well laid out for 2 people. The beds and pillows were comfortable (after we added the 2nd pillow). The bathroom was spacious and accommodating. The staff was exceptionally attentive and responded to all of our needs. The front desk staff gave great tips on making use of our very short time, arranged taxis quickly for tourism, and, to the airport. In addition, they were kind and humorous. I highly recommend this hotel for someone who would like to stay in Florence for great location, great accommodations, great service and a moderate budget!

Fantastic location and just minutes from the train station. The common areas of the hotel live up to what you see on the WEB, but it ends there. The actual room is shabby at best and in need of refurbishing. Will do for the normal short 1-3 day visit to Florence that most tourists do. But we were there for two full weeks. only six very small drawers, only the desk chair to sit in, 3 foot + leg lift to get in the tub and only the pipe holding the shower to hold on to. 24 hr front desk with friendly helpful service, but nothing else. Lots of places to eat within a block. At over $360 a night it seemed expensive for what you got.

The hotel is beautiful but the shower/bathtub is very unsafe. You need to step up over 24 inches into the tiny little bathtub that has a slope in it making it unsafe to stand in. The shower lever did not stay up so if u want continuous water during your shower you need to hold it on. Additionally, the width of the area is tiny, ensuring that you can only rotate like a rotisserie chicken, and your feet can at max be placed 5 inches apart. There is no bar to hold onto in the shower for stability. The breakfast was disappointing. The entire bathroom ceiling has ugly slats to prevent looking at the ventilation which are still slightly visible.

Ok la posizione ma stanza doppia molto piccola, letti scomodi con materassi eccessivamente duri e cuscini sottili. Il bagno è impraticabile! Completamente da rifare! Solo per persone magrissime e bambini causa spazi inesistenti sia in doccia che nell'utilizzo dei sanitari. Colazione nella norma. Il prezzo elevato non è giustificabile.

I would give 5 stars, except for the A/C which cannot be controlled, no soap dish in the shower (must use the floor!), no conditioner provided in bathroom, 5% of the shower water drains onto the bathroom floor thus soaking the floor. Otherwise, a 5-star hotel with a decent breakfast and fantastic location!

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Personal auch sehr nett. Aber mein Zimmer war doch etwas sehr beengt. Und das Fenster zur Hauptstraße hin. Ich musste ja das Fenster in der Nacht auf lassen, kann nicht mit Klimaanlage schlafen. Bis ein Uhr nachts volle Lautstärke auf der Straße. Man meint, vor allem die Motorradfahrer fahren direkt am Bett vorbei. Die Lage des Hotels ist aber wirklich optimal, weil man gleich am Bahnhof ist.

The door to the new room was nearly impossible to unlock and open and staff had to help us open the door. The hotel was not secure. We had to leave our room key at the desk when we left, but upon returning, all we had to give was our room number to be given access to the key, no security check to confirm our identity matched the name. Anyone could have walked in and said a room number and got the key to that room! Don’t stay here!
Toilet did not flush and the shower did not drain. We were given two twins when we booked a double. We asked to switch rooms upon noticing the shower issue and staff was abrasive and did not provide a solution. They said there were no more rooms and they could have a repair man come in the morning. They inquired why we were unhappy with the room after we told them the issues. We didn’t even mention the mold and peeling wallpaper in the room. The next morning they allowed us to move to a new room. This room had the bed we requested but the shower also did not drain. The room was very clean and daily housekeeping, so nice to come back to a tidy room and bed made. Employees all spoke at least enough English to accommodate a non Italian speaker. They have an arrangement with a taxi service and were kind enough to book a taxi for my very early flight (7am). Excellent location in the heart of the city center and with a very good price.

Location of the hotel is perfect to see the main attractions in Florence. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We asked to change rooms after the first night as the shower was in the bath and due to mobility problems I it was almost impossible to got in. The member of staff was very helpful, changing our room to one better for me. He even offered to arrange for someone to move our bags.

It worked well for one night and is close to shopping and restaurants and the cathedral. The staff were very gracious. We inquired the day before if we could leave our bags before check in and we could. However when we arrived the next day at 10:30 am our room was ready for us. The manager made sure to have our room cleaned first. Exceptional service.

We tremendously enjoyed staying at the hotel Martelli for three nights. Our room was clean and well laid out for 2 people. The beds and pillows were comfortable (after we added the 2nd pillow). The bathroom was spacious and accommodating. The staff was exceptionally attentive and responded to all of our needs. The front desk staff gave great tips on making use of our very short time, arranged taxis quickly for tourism, and, to the airport. In addition, they were kind and humorous. I highly recommend this hotel for someone who would like to stay in Florence for great location, great accommodations, great service and a moderate budget!

My mom & I loved our stay here. Mom has mobility issues so the elevator came in handy. It was also a close enough walk to the duomo for an easy walk for us both. The hotel itself was lovely and this was the first hotel we stayed in our Europe trip where the breakfast was included. The staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Lugar ruim para quem alugou um carro pois esta dentro de uma área de trafego limitado. O staff não te avisa. Por sorte tinha acabado de sair de Siena e aprendi um pouco que isso existe. Ao entrar em Florença dei de cara com a placa da ZTL. Parei e liguei para o hotel. Só ai que me explicaram o que fazer. Tem que ir até um estacionamento em outra rua que custa €24/dia. Café da manhã razoável.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Personal auch sehr nett. Aber mein Zimmer war doch etwas sehr beengt. Und das Fenster zur Hauptstraße hin. Ich musste ja das Fenster in der Nacht auf lassen, kann nicht mit Klimaanlage schlafen. Bis ein Uhr nachts volle Lautstärke auf der Straße. Man meint, vor allem die Motorradfahrer fahren direkt am Bett vorbei. Die Lage des Hotels ist aber wirklich optimal, weil man gleich am Bahnhof ist.

It’s a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. So traditional and yet has all you need! The staff were really lovely and kindly spoke English to us! The breakfast was perfectly Italian and they had little chocolate eggs out for us on Easter Sunday which was cute! The hotel is like a maze! Huge, and you feel part of the Florence history trying to work out where your room is , passing through little areas set up like dining rooms! I stayed with my 13 year old daughter and she said it was very fancy, and loved the chandeliers!

Hôtel très bien situé proche des sites à visiter. Petit déjeuner bien mais si on reste plusieurs jours manque de variétés. Si vous le choisissez pour le parking il n’y en a pas, ils ne font que vous donner le noms de certains et c’est à vous de vous débrouiller pour réserver. Malgré cela je le recommande bon rapport qualité prix

Hot water did not work. Was not notified or given compensation. Very noisy and very tiny room and extremely tiny bathroom. Pictures give totally different look of room. Had to queue a while at breakfast for coffee machine. Could have had 2. Definitely not decent value to stay there.

Hotel is very nice and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. My only issue was the 2 level tub that made it hard for me to get in, out and shower. But the stay was well worth it.

The air con in the bedroom is an old system, it couldn't cope with a hot summer day. Excellent breakfast. It is an old hotel with lots of character, situated in a fantastic location. Good value for money.
