Lovely, historic hotel a short walk from everything and yet felt secluded. Friendly, helpful staff, and the pool was a godsend in the summer heat. Nice breakfast too! Great rooms, quiet and had AC. Recommended to everyone!

Vi har valt hotell som har pool då vädret i Florens överstiger 25 grader. Hotellet har inte öppnat poolen för säsongen. Detta nämns inte i Hotel.com när man bokar. Vi hade valt ett mer centralt hotell med denna förutsättning.

Definitely not worth the price. The property is quite old and fairly run down, and they nickel and dime you by charging you to even use the pool. For the cost I'd expect a lot more.

The temperature was over 30C and they advertised that they have a pool and indicated that it was opened but it wasn’t opened. Many of the guests were very upset about the lack of disclosure

The hotel building is a historic house, very spacious and with an interesting decor. The parking was a plus so if you are driving, the location is perfect because you can park, leave your car there and walk to Florence's main attractions which are about 10 or 15 minutes walk from the hotel Even if you have already checked out you can leave the car. Therefore it has a very convenient location. The cost for one full-day parking is €30. The breakfast is excellent t with plenty of options. The staff is very polite and willing to help. A special mention to Martina. She checked us in and out and helped us with the parking and gave us directions and explained the area. Very efficient and versatile with her duties.

Surprised at a fee for the pool…should’ve checked the small print that said did not detract from the stay Hotel very clean staff were excellent it was a haven in a city of madness! Florence is very busy which is understandable as there’s lots to see

Hotel was down town in a nice area walkable to all attractions, convenience store two doors down, had a nice outdoor pool that was always locked up, had to ask the front seat to open it up, people like to sit around pools even if they don’t want to go in. Don’t book a low grade room, you get what you pay for, I had to pay to upgrade my room.

Excellent hotel - 15/20 minutes walk from all the main sights. Great small pool. Lovely staff. Basic breakfast. Only thing to ensure is put anti insect spray on - as the pool does have mosquitoes in the late afternoon. Also some local great restaurants just dow the street including a vegan italian.

Ideal gelegen für die Besichtigung von Florenz. Parkplatz im Innenhof mit ausreichend Platz und Schatten. Zimmer sind groß und sauber, man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Ein schöner Pool mit Liegen, der für Abkühlung sorgt. Frühstück ist ausreichend und vielfältig.

This is a gorgeous old hotel that is a stone's throw from a local park and about a 15-minute walk from the train station. Our room was spacious and clean, and our bed was very comfortable. There was a large breakfast selection each morning that could be eaten in the hotel's conservatory or outside in the garden. We stayed at the hotel for five nights and had a very enjoyable experience. The staff were also very friendly and professional. We recommend this hotel.

Struttura davvero molto elegante e ben tenuta ad una 10 di minuti dal centro. Personale disponibile per ogni esigenza e davvero molto gentile, sempre con il sorriso. Stanza accogliente e, nonostante fosse una singola, comunque di spazio davvero più che sufficiente. Poche volte in vita mia ho visto una stanza così pulita.

La habitación individual era extremadamente pequeña, parecia del tamaño de un armario. El aire acondicionado no creo que se haya limpiado porque me dio una alergia terrible. The single room had bed bug! I had been bitten for three nights and told the staff, but he was quite aloof and didn’t really do anything about it. Very disappointed. Other than that, the single room is right next to the elevator with very poor sound proof. I was lucky enough to be tired enough and having ear plugs to sleep with, otherwise the noise is pretty bad. I would say the location is pretty good, but I would avoid booking it at all costs next time since I now need to worry about not carrying bed bugs home.

Elegant Palazzo style period property with very high ceilings. Water leaked from where the hose joined the shower head in the bathroom. Kettle on main table had no power socket, so each time I boiled water had to move kettle to bedside table for the socket and then remove it back to the main table. Staff were very professional and helpful. Did not choose breakfast.

Good breakfast. Breakfast staff very friendly. Front desk staff very efficient. Fast check in and out. Convenient to places of interest and the main train station. Felt safe walking around in the area. Facility is overall nice but the shower place door had loose seals and water got out and wet the floor. Besides that everything is good.

I had a lovely stay, everything within the room itself was great. Only issue was the room was right next to the elevator so it was quite noisy with other guests and luggage noise outside

The staff were very kind and welcoming even though we arrived quite late. The elevator to the second floor wasn’t working during our stay, but the hotel helped us carry our luggage. The room was very quiet and had a charming, antique atmosphere.

Truly feels like a grand hotel from the moment you enter the property. It has likely seen better days however we felt right at home in the Deluxe Terrace room. High ceilings and chandelier make it feel luxurious. Our only critique is the dated furniture including the bed which was quite stiff. Overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

The breakfast was very good. We had a room in building that was separate from main hotel. The room look like it had just been updated. It was very quiet at night and was with in walking distance to the main attractions.

Beautiful property, all amenities available in the room. Bathroom was very nice. However, Aircon was very old and I noticed that the photos of the rooms are quite misleading.

A great place to stay. Well positioned, beautiful and well looked after. The staff were welcoming and helpful- particularly the lovely man who managed breakfast and the bar (which I strongly recommend). Hope to return.

My wife and I had an exceptional stay here for our honeymoon. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I broke my foot on the first day and they were super accommodating with everything I needed to get to-and-from the hospital. I really do appreciate everything they did. The hotel is about a 10-15 min cab ride or 20 min walk out of the city centre, which is perfect for us as it’s away from the masses of tourists. It felt like a little oasis of calm in a beautiful villa! There are also plenty of fine restaurants within a 5-10 min walk of the hotel as well. Additionally there is Carre Four (grocery shop) right around the corner for all your bits and bobs! We will definitely be back!

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Service is awful. The rooms are outdated and ugly. We were given a handicap room with a shower door that was broken and did not have a seal at the bottom causing 2” of water to pool in the entire bathroom. Told the staff who gave us one more towel to mop it up ourselves. We asked for another room and told there were none available only to look online and find there were actually rooms available that night. The front desk staff, Carlo, was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we showed him the large pooling of water throughout our bathroom, he proceeded to ask if I had never dealt with any issues in our lives as though I was being a pretentious princess or something merely asking for a functioning room. I was appalled at his response. I don’t have super high expectations when staying at any hotel other than a clean and safe room with facilities that actually work. We tried to speak to a manager and Carlo told us to call the phone number to the hotel. I replied I would and he said he would be the one to answer the phone when we called. What a joke. So when we call to complain about our less than standard room, he would be the one we would be dealing with again? They moved our room the next day, but the shower in that room leaked as well and was slow to drain. We didn’t even bother mentioning this until checkout as we knew nothing would be done because it was Carlo working the desk. Overall, one of the worst experiences at a hotel I’ve ever had.

Hideous staff. Belligerent, disinterested and rude. Hotel has a student hostel vibe, packs of school kids running wild and noisy at night. Dark creepy drawing room. Absolutely no atmosphere. Florence was amazing, and everyone else we met was lovely. With exception of detached front managers glued to their computers.

I was in Florence on business and needed a reasonably priced hotel that was not far from the city center. This hotel fit my needs perfectly. The hotel was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, the breakfast was very nice, and the staff were superb. I would stay here, again, and plan to on my next business trip to Florence.

Enjoyed our stay here. This is an older hotel but maintains a special charm that you can’t find at other accommodations. The staff was lovely, and we were even allowed to check in early. The breakfast buffet was mediocre and there’s a mildew smell in some places but overall, we had a positive experience.

ViIla Royal is a beautiful hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet and an easy walk to cafes and sites. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There is on site parking. The pool is great and the courtyard is quiet and cozy. The breakfast was very good and there is a small bar to pick up a beverage to enjoy in the courtyard. I highly recommend this hotel.
