Hotel was in a convenient location with amazing views from the terrace and roof top. Easy access to parts of the city by funiculars that were close by. Downside was that roof top was off limits to guests for two of the three days staying at the hotel. We booked here because of the pool and outdoor terraces and common areas and we could not use these areas because of outside events booked by the hotel. On the day we were able to use the pool at 5 pm because we had to vacate due to yet another wedding that was happening that evening. It would have been helpful if the hotel could have informed us of the limited access before the deadline for cancellation given the restriction on hotel amenities.

the rooms and service were great and comfortable. breakfast was tasty and great. pool closes early so we werent able to use. the elevators worked sometimes. location is convenient but still a walk from most shopping and food.

Gorgeous hotel with beautiful rooftop pool. Staff were all fantastic and really looked after us. Used the valet service, which was super easy.

I would recommend this hotel, however we experienced a few minor disappointments. Bathroom drain was clogged and toilet button for flushing not operating properly. The pool area is VERY nice and not crowded. However it closes at 17:00 which limits how much you can enjoy it. Hense 4 not 5 stars.

The hotel is in an old monastery. The building & gardens are beautiful. The view from the rooftop is gorgeous. However, the hotel feels little forgotten. The staff can only be seen in the front desk & pool area. However, the service by the pool is bad. They barely come to see if you need anything to drink. The pool is frigid cold. There's a grotto where a jacuzzi used to be, but now is empty. The gardens, though beautiful are unkempt. The close the pool at 5 & there are wedding often on the rooftop. The guests cannot access the rooftop after 5 if there is an event, which is often. The area is quiet & calm, but not close to dining. You'll need a taxi for mostly everthing. I think next time, I'd skip this place & head down to the area by the Castelo del Ouvo.

No complimentary drinking water offered in the room . Lovely terrace for drinks and meals - beware thieving seagulls. No fresh orange juice at breakfast. Dinner was good. Will happily stay again. Valet parking a bonus.

A unique boutique hotel set overlooking Naples Bay easily reached by funicular. Being a former monastery, the plumbing needs a little forgiveness but the rooms are decorated stylishly with plenty of space. The terrace and pool area make for great relaxation after exploring the city. Be aware this hotel is a popular wedding venue and wedding guests seem to take precedence over staying guests, having to vacate the pool area by 5pm, the Terrace on occasion for private parties, and late at night be subjected to rowdy crowds leaving. I’d like to see management get a better balance here for future guests.

Excellent property in an ancient monastary with amazing views of Naples. At the top floor swimming pool is just like being at a resort, in the middle of Naples! Restaurant terrace overlooking Naples, food quality just average, though.

I hate to leave negative reviews, but I wish I would have read this before booking. We’re shocked that the hotel has such positive ratings as we really didn’t enjoy our stay - it is definitely not a 4 star hotel and I promise there are better options in Italy! Overall, the common areas and interiors are very worn down and dated, not in an authentic and charming way as depicted in photos. Our room being on the same floor as the restaurant, we could always hear staff, trolleys and slamming doors. Our shower had no water pressure, making it impossible to wash long hair, and the water was either freezing cold or burning hot. When mentioned to the receptionists, they said they’d try to repair it but it didn’t work. We went to check out the pool area, which was really small and disappointing - very happy we didn’t pay the extra charge to use it. The area is really unpleasant and dirty, and we discovered a cockroach in the pool restroom. The breakfast was probably the worst part of it all. While the selection was similar to other small Italian hotel breakfasts, the quality was the worst and it was just an overall unappealing experience. The few pastries and cut fruit weren’t covered so flies were hovering over it. The glasses, cutlery and dishes were not properly clean, and the whole place felt dirty and sticky. We’re giving this hotel 3 stars, solely for the view (which is lovely) and its central location close to major sights. I would never come back and never recommend it.

Definitely would come back. The rooms were immaculately clean and the staff very friendly and hospitable. The restaurants and bar were excellent and the view from the rooftop is breathtaking. Antonio at the front desk was outstanding in customer service .

The view from the hotel was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly, and the service was excellent. However, the hotel was quite worn down and really needed renovation. I can't recommend this accommodation considering how much it costs to stay there.

Filthy property, horribly bed, run down facilities and the pool looked nothing like the pictures they posted. The staff was great. If you gave them a hotel worth them it would be a 5 star facility. How it got over 8 rating is byond me.

Unfortunately have to give this hotel a bad review :( we stayed here for 2 nights and it wasn’t the best. We were told we couldn’t bring outside food into the hotel which is very strange. When we called the front desk to have something sent to our room it never came or we had to call twice to remind them. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned very well and on top of everything my boyfriend and I woke up with bites on us … potentially bedbugs 😣 the property itself is nice but not sure how this is a 4 star hotel other than that

L'hôtel est tout simplement magnifique, la vue est imprenable sur toute la ville et le vesuve, le personnel aux petits soins et le petit dejeuner un vrai regal. Seul bemol: les matelas et oreillers pourraient etre changés ils sont un peu vieux et cela se ressent quand on dort dedans

Beautiful older building with modern amenities. The pool on the roof has a good view. Rooms have a comfortable bed, AC and a nice bathroom. It is relatively close to the train station and the coast. Short travel distance to Teatro Di San Carlo and the Royal Palace of ,Naples.

Excellent hotel and great staff who are really accommodating. The room is clean everyday by housekeeping. The only thing that was annoying was that I had no internet in my room or the whole floor for that matter which has been broken for 5 nights which was my entire stay. I definitely would return and the internet is not a deal breaker and is just one of those things which is a very small issue.

An amazing hotel, with views to die for and the people working there were very professional, polite and engaging! The views from the bar/ terrace area, as well as the roof were breathtaking! Our view from our sea view room was also excellent, all be it a very small window. My biggest disappointment was the air conditioning or lack of it as the hotel was unbelievably hot, with the heating on full! I was there for 3 nights and after having an engineer look at the air conditioning, it worked but made the most horrific noise the whole time when on, and it kept flicking on and off every 5mins, which made sleeping almost impossible. This definitely played its part in our stay and would most likely make me avoid in high summer!

The air conditionin unit in our room was incredibly noisy and almost unusuable. We had to get up at 3 am to open the windows to cool the room. We were unable to sleep comfortably due to the noise. The A/C unit sounded like it was coming apart. I reported the problem to the front desk in the morning, and i was told that a technician was going to check the unit up. The next evening, the problem was exactly the same, either their maintenance person(s) are incompetent, or they jist don't care to fix the unit, probably to save money. I would strongly warn any possible victims that are planning to spend any time in this hotel during the upcoming summer months !!

Some of the lower scores are down to this is an old converted building. However the room had a damp smell and the fittings were not of great standard. Napoli is a busy city and has its own identity so don’t be surprised by the graffiti, busy noises narrow streets. The staff were excellent btw. There is parking available, but be aware driving around the city with its steep and narrow streets provide much jeopardy. The view of the city is great and the 4th floor bar is nice. We would advise walking to the town and using lime bikes to get back

A lovely hotel with a stunning view from our room on the fifth floor. Reception staff were cheerful and helpful. Used the “funicolare” several times to avoid the steep walk to or from the historical centre. Enjoyed dinner outside on 4th floor terrace ( same location as breakfast). Only negative was that the room air conditioner could not cope with the outside heat of June. Note there is no bottled water or kettle or fridge in the room. Grateful to receive a takeaway breakfast due to early checkout.

We wished we had more time to spend here but we had events that took up much of our time. The pool area is gorgeous, the restaurants and food choices are fantastic. They had the best brioche I’ve ever eaten in the breakfast buffet. So fresh delicate & buttery. I definitely overindulged:) The staff is welcoming and very professional. The check in/check out process seamless. There are secret chambers off of the 3rd floor of this old monastery that are open to explore & super cool- we felt like children again adventuring down the stairs cut into the rock. Beauty in every corner. The views of Vesuvius from the breakfast area are beyond incredible. Bravo to the staff:)

Das beste an diesem Hotel ist die Hotelterrasse (Frühstücksraum undRestaurant/Bar) sowie die Terrasse im 7. Stock. Fantastischer Blick über Neapel. Zimmer sind okay für so ein gehobenes Hotel (z.B. keine Regale im Schrank). Leider hält der Service nicht mit. Kommunikation zwischen Restaurant und Rezeption funktioniert nicht wirklich. Ich hatte dieses Hotel für meinen speziellen Geburtstag ausgesucht. Einen Tisch extra im Restaurant vorab reserviert. Rita sagt mir einen schönen Tisch zu. Als mein Mann und ich ankamen, wusste keiner der Kellner davon. Erste Reihe auf der Terrasse (an der Balustrade mit super Blick) war ausgebucht. Dann hat man nettereise noch einen Tisch in der vorderen Reihe zwischen den Tischen hingestellt. Mein Mann hatte mit der Rezeption gesprochen und als Überraschung für mich einen kleinen Kuchen mit 6 Kerzen bestellt. Auch das wurde nicht kommuniziert. Definitely would come back. The rooms were immaculately clean and the staff very friendly and hospitable. The restaurants and bar were excellent and the view from the rooftop is breathtaking. Antonio at the front desk was outstanding in customer service .

This was my second stay at SFM and I loved it just as much the first time. The front desk staff remembered me from my previous visit two summers ago and was so warm during check-in. The views are the best in Napoli and the rooftop pool and bar are top rate. This is my go-to hotel in Napoli.

We had a lovely couple of nights stay. The hotel has a nostalgic charm, the service was excellent from check in, restaurant and bar staff. The pool and accompanying views were a joy and very welcome on a hot Saturday afternoon, as were the frozen margaritas!

Very bad service expérience - we booked for a superior room with sea view, and were given a Classic room (much smaller, very old style, one small window), the receptionist (Francesca) at checkin has been so rude and unprofessional with this situation, argued that it was a superior room (clearly it wasnt from the website pictures), and then said it was their last room and could not change room (except a superior but with no sea view), so we stayed at that old room, not at all what we booked and expected, and at check out they made us pay a superior price, the receptionist at checkout (Salvatore) even agreed with us but said his manager didnt authorize any payment change, and we were not allowed to speak to that manager who is apprently unavailable during weekends (which is ridiculous!), this is simply a fraud, unacceptable management, this is a shame because the pool area and terrasses/views are very nice, but the room charge was a scam, i strongly recommend to avoid this hôtel.

Lovely stay, great views and friendly reception staff. The dining staff were less friendly and didn’t seem to be very happy. Breakfast was great. The room was fantastic and comfortable and the hotel had a good atmosphere. Long climb up from the city but not a problem after we discovered the funicular.

Hotel SFM was an amazing find. We only had one night but could have stayed longer. They arranged to pick us up at the port and the hotel is very close, yet situated on the mountain with amazing views of the Bay of Naples. An old monastery, the building itself is very interesting and the artwork spectacular. They also have a small pool where you can have a light lunch and the main restaurant is truly fabulous. Lastly, although we left very early, as our room included breakfast they actually packed a to-go bag for us which was very thoughtful. 5* from this recent guest.

Swimming pool and dining terraces were superb , wonderful views out over the bay of Naples. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Vignetto dining spot was memorable with great reasonably priced food in a beautiful setting. The funiculare railway is the best way to get down into Naples centre and only takes a few minutes. Taxi are also plentiful and fast and relatively cheap.

The rooftop terrace and restaurant alone make this property worth booking. Amazing views of Napoli and the bay day and night. The location is wonderful up on the hill out of the real hustle and bustle but also very accessible to everything with just a walk down the stairs right outside the hotel. Only one con for me was the lighting in the bathroom. Just a little dark and I forgot my lighted magnifying makeup mirror so getting ready was a bit of a challenge. I would definitely stay here again. Super comfy bed as well.

The hotel was beautiful. The history is amazing. The food is not good. We ate there twice. It was very expensive and was not very good. The “burger” was loaded with cheese. I like cheese, but it had a ridiculous amount. We had dinner and it was pretentious.

They win a lot by the view and the location. It’s gorgeous. The pool area is great. The food is not amazing, but the setting is! The staff is friendly. The hotel itself was not very well maintained. Small things such as the shower working properly can easily be fixed and the experience will be much better. That being said, it was a good trip. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel has great views over old town and port, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as good as any we’d had after ten days travelling around Italy. However, the noise from the staff, the kitchen area and general foot fall outside our room (41) was horrendous. We could hear every word of the staff clearing down after dinner and getting ready for breakfast, which went on until 1am. This included trolleys of crockery being moved around the hallways, shouting and the world’s creakiest door. If you do stay here make sure you’re not on the fourth floor, as you’ll get virtually no sleep.
