We arrived by water taxi and entered the hotel through its private water entrance on one of the canals, but it is also a short walk to one of the ferry stops. Rialto bridge is 10 minutes walk, while San Marco is about 20 minutes.

The most wonderful surprise. So beautiful. A genuine feeling of a richness from the past. Luxurious garden! The BEST hot shower I’ve had on our trip. Wonderful service. We so enjoyed the breakfast ! Super access to the canals and liveliness of Venice. Tucked away though so when you need to rest you can return to peace.

When we visit Venice again, we would definitely stay at the Palazzo Abadessa again. We loved the unique atmosphere there for a romantic trip to Venice. The Palazzo is very beautiful and the garden lovely. It even has an own boot pier. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom. The cleaning was good; just keep in mind that the furniture is antique and therefore the ambiente is authentic to the Palazzo with carpets etc. We liked it. Just the shower door could be better as it was always opening by itself. The breakfast was tasty and there was much to choose; the service was very friendly and tried to fill up the buffet as fast as possible. There was a very polite receptionist 24h. Not to forget: The location is great, you can reach everything easy by foot. Thank you Palazzo Abadessa!

Great location this hotel is a real find. Historical Hotel which exceeded our expectations. The staff were so helpful, friendly and made our stay so enjoyable. Breakfast was great. We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the beautiful garden . We found it a perfect location for exploring on our first trip to Venice. We would definately stay here again.

The hotel offered a complimentary trip to Murano, and tour of a glass blowing factory. I agreed to it, and was not picked up at the hotel canal, but led thru a maze of streets to finally a boat. The boat took me to Murano and i eas met by a man who proceeded to pressure me during the entire tour of his mundane, ordinary offerings. I already have a lot of art glass, and not only were his pieces dull and ordinary, they were priced four times what stores in Venice proper were asking. I politely told him i would think about it, grateful to get away from this greedy person. We then walked to the door and i asked him to call the return boat. Oh no, you had a one way ticket. He said. You are on your own! I am a woman 76 years old and have traveled around the world. Never have i ever had my hotel knowingly put me in a terrible situation like that. After many hours, i made my way back to the hotel. NEVER TO RETURN!!!! Dont waste your money with these shysters. They also wanted $150.00 to take me to the port where i was going on a cruise. I got there for ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS. This is absolutely true. Do not waste your valuable time with this horrid group. The hotel itself had some nice relics, that is all.

The hotel is very classy in a building overlooking a small canal. The reception staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is very clean. The immediate area is very quiet but also close to railway station, Grand Canal and San Marco. It is also only 7 minutes walk to Fondamente Nove where you can get boat to airport and islands of Murano and Burano. The hotel has a beautiful secluded garden to relax.

I booked this room over a year ago. When we got there , they had us in the only room on the first floor. We know this is Venice and humidity is usually high but this room was right at water level. The room smelled musty and the humidity was extremely high. I washed a shirt and it took 3 days to dry. All clothes we put on felt damp. We were also stuffy and eyes were itchy. Maybe mold. Do not let them give you this room

Flott beliggenhet, nær hovedgaten. Veldig rent og delikat gjesterom, men i fellesrommene er det et stort forbedringspotensiale med støvtørking på malerirammene bl.a. Utendørs i haven var det ustelte og delvis visne planter, mangelfull raking av planterester, falmede stolputer og mangelfull belysning på kveldstid. Delikat frokost, men i løpet av vårt tre døgns opphold var det alltid noe som manglet på frokostbordet: glass, brød/rundstykker, egg, pålegg etc. Unødvendig for et hotell med 15 rom og frokostbetjening. Da vi ba om det mangelfulle tok det opp til 15 min. før det var på plass. Frokost burde ha vart til kl. 10.30, ikke 10.00. Her er det feriegjester som bor, og de fleste kom til frokost etter kl. 09.15. Ingen salonger i fellesrommene, kun mulig å sitte i haven og spisesalen. Friske blomster i hallen, men stearinlys som står til alle retninger i lysestakene. Alle dører knirker. Hotellet bærer preg av det administreres av menn, og at det mangler en kvinnelig "hånd". Vi spurte også om det var kvinnelige ansatte der, og fikk bekreftet at det kun var til frokost og rengjøring av rom. Tvilsomt 4 stjerners hotell.

We really enjoyed the Palazzo Abadessa. The last time we were in Venice we discovered how much more laid back the Canareggio district is compared to San Marco so decided to stay there this trip. Abadessa got great ratings and did not disappoint. It’s truly an old palace and it’s one of the few hotels in Venice with its own gardens, although be careful of the fairly aggressive pigeons stealing your food at breakfast. Our room had two levels and was outstanding for a family stay. The hotel also has its own water taxi dock which is very convenient (although not cheap: 70 euros each way from the train station). Overall highly recommend Palazzo Abadessa!

Room was amazing no sound issues for us. Bathroom needs some attention, removal of old fittings, fan constantly on etc. Breakfast was weak poor selection of food, however good enough to see you through to lunch. No in room tea/coffee.

The property is located in historic Venice. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and a 3 minute walk to the Vaporetto dock. As a result of being in a historic building, the rooms are very small. Bring your own USB charger and a 220 plug adaptor.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Palazzo. Hotel is in a good quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of St Marks Square but within easy walking distance. Staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The only downside for us was that we stayed in a classic room on the ground floor and you can hear the room above occupants moving around and having a shower. Wasn’t a big problem as we are early risers anyway. The breakfast is good and plentiful to start the day and lovely being able to have breakfast in the courtyard and garden.

Palazzo Abadessa is a unique and beautiful property on a quiet side street close to services, sites, restaurants. The staff was outstanding, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, well appointed, with lots of light and fresh air. It felt special at every turn. Such a find! We'll be back.

This hotel is an old palace and has been renovated into a hotel . The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only problem for us was that the bed was too hard . This could be improved with a mattress topper . We had room 19 on the 1st floor with a canal view. The check-in process was really easy and we dropped our bags off early. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There was a complimentary bottle of Prosecco which we enjoyed in the lovely garden. Drinks can be ordered from the reception area. Outstanding Staff. Friendly and accommodating. Offered a room upgrade for day two when a superior room but we were happy with our original room. You can walk anywhere easily. The water bus is less than a five minute walk. Lovely atmosphere and a nice breakfast. It is quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I strongly recommend the Hotel Abadessa

I had higher expectations when booked the property, as the reviews are really good. In reality it’s overrated . Checkin in was around 25 minutes and staff couldn’t speak English. And in general staff was helpless. I contacted property 2 times in advance and never got a reply. The room was small (classic dbl) and I could hear neighbor snoring and so on. Bed was creaking and uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

Hotel was one of the better ones in venice, with regard to decor, they all seem very outdated but maybe the are trying to keep the venitian charm, which is fine but please add some mordern touches. Our room was very unpleasently warm the whole of our visit. Expedia stated there was aircon but there isnt, we tried to call down to reception with no avail, so hubby ended up going down and asking about the aircon, to which we were told there is none. We was offered a fan, which wasnt great but better than nothing, we had to have it on full the whole time we was there, even during the night, which made my eyes sore, we even had to have the windows open which wasnt great as we got bit quite a lot during the night. Husband also tried to call down for an iron and ironing board, as none in room but again no answer, so had to go down to reception, to which my husband was greated with a roll of the eyes, disgusting customer serivce, yet the man who was on the desk when we arrived in the morning, couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast isnt great either, unless your happy with a continental one, scrambled and boiled eggs available every morn but bacon was only availabe 2 out of the 4 of our nights stay, no toast and no sauages. Breakfast room where you eat was in loby area too, which i didnt like, with 2 bedrooms off that too, very strange. Location was good tho, but i wouldn't stay there again due to there been no aircon.

The hotel building was created in the 1500s for a doge of Venice. Stunning, historic location. I bet the ceilings in our rooms were 22 feet tall! I adored the large public rooms with old oil paintings. It was lovely to eat breakfast in the courtyard garden. Staff were very helpful including making dinner suggestions at two different restaurants. They also booked us a water taxi to take us back to the airport at the end of our trip. Wonderful location on a quiet canal. I was surprised how quiet it was as I thought party boats might be going by below our window all night long. If I were a woman traveling alone, I would not like coming back the narrow passageway by myself after dark from the large pedestrian street nearby.

We arrived by water taxi and entered the hotel through its private water entrance on one of the canals, but it is also a short walk to one of the ferry stops. Rialto bridge is 10 minutes walk, while San Marco is about 20 minutes.

Great location this hotel is a real find. Historical Hotel which exceeded our expectations. The staff were so helpful, friendly and made our stay so enjoyable. Breakfast was great. We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the beautiful garden . We found it a perfect location for exploring on our first trip to Venice. We would definately stay here again.

Room was amazing no sound issues for us. Bathroom needs some attention, removal of old fittings, fan constantly on etc. Breakfast was weak poor selection of food, however good enough to see you through to lunch. No in room tea/coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. Their breakfast had many delicious options and seating in both the garden and lovely, flower-filled dining area. The staff were very helpful & friendly, going above and beyond with recommendations and even lent us an umbrella for the afternoon. The hotel has an afternoon tea, which was beautifully presented and a nice break from all the crowds. We highly recommend!!

Flott beliggenhet, nær hovedgaten. Veldig rent og delikat gjesterom, men i fellesrommene er det et stort forbedringspotensiale med støvtørking på malerirammene bl.a. Utendørs i haven var det ustelte og delvis visne planter, mangelfull raking av planterester, falmede stolputer og mangelfull belysning på kveldstid. Delikat frokost, men i løpet av vårt tre døgns opphold var det alltid noe som manglet på frokostbordet: glass, brød/rundstykker, egg, pålegg etc. Unødvendig for et hotell med 15 rom og frokostbetjening. Da vi ba om det mangelfulle tok det opp til 15 min. før det var på plass. Frokost burde ha vart til kl. 10.30, ikke 10.00. Her er det feriegjester som bor, og de fleste kom til frokost etter kl. 09.15. Ingen salonger i fellesrommene, kun mulig å sitte i haven og spisesalen. Friske blomster i hallen, men stearinlys som står til alle retninger i lysestakene. Alle dører knirker. Hotellet bærer preg av det administreres av menn, og at det mangler en kvinnelig "hånd". Vi spurte også om det var kvinnelige ansatte der, og fikk bekreftet at det kun var til frokost og rengjøring av rom. Tvilsomt 4 stjerners hotell.

Sehr schöne individuelle Zimmer im alten Venezianischen Stil. Toller Service an der Rezeption. Insgesamt schöne lage ruhig am seitenkanal klimaanlage top. Kritik, Beim Frühstück sollten Wurst und Käse gekühlt stehen entweder auf Eis oder in Kühlelementen, vorallem bei 28 Grad ab 8:00 uhr am morgen.

Our rooms seemed small but I think it was just the low ceiling. Room was clean. The staff was amazing. They let us drop our bags on arrival and also on check out day since we left late in the afternoon. They are very accommodating!! We would stay there again.

What a magical find! This was like a four star bed-and-breakfast with Venetian character. It was an old palace for one of Venice’s doges. We did not feel at all like we were staying in some tourist traffic. It felt very authentic. They have done an amazing job preserving as much of the original integrity of the structure as possible. Breakfast was top-notch. The staff was so accommodating. I found things online that were cheaper, but this was worth every penny. Very peaceful and quiet, but just a two minute walk from a major commercial thoroughfare and the grand Canal. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I travel a lot, but this was possibly the best hotels I have ever stayed at in terms of location, charm, staff and overall. Air conditioning works perfectly, not noisy. The room is the right size. It comes with a well-working fridge. The room was overlooking one of the famous canals. The garden is wonderful. They offer "Vivaldi tea time" from 16.00-17.00, when you can ger free coffee, tea and cakes while listening to classical music - it's awesome. The staff if fantastic, really kind, helpful and polite. Very close to everything, only a few meters away from the main street, yet quiet. 10 mins walk from the train station, 2 mins walk from the nearest vaporetto. Highly recommend it!
