We came a week after Labor Day and Pioneer Park was closed. They were upgrading the lobby area and construction materials were everywhere. The breakfast was amazing every morning. Hotel was nice but in the middle of nowhere.

Renovation to lobby and main floor look to be repairing water damage, there was no real “check in desk” but nobody could explain. The breakfast was good. The Pool was in good condition. The hotel was in a convenient location to much of the activity we were doing. Staff were all relatively new. The shower head was bad and the air conditioning made a ticking noise that was annoying to sleep at.

We frequently stay over night in Fairbanks when we have appointments. This hotel is one of our go-tos, as it has a small (usually warm) pool that always has life jackets and yoys available for our kids, decent breakfast with lots of options and is right in the middle of town with easy access to everything. Rooms are comfortable enough and staff is usually super helpful/enjoyable to chat with.

The staff was friendly. The building is under renovation so the elevator was out. The gym equipment was limited and the pool was closed. These amenities are the main attraction since it is in the wilderness. They offer airport taxi included in your stay.

The person at the desk for check in, was bothered by us. She was clearly not in the mood to help us. The place has broken brick and sidewalks. The front desk is a mess due to remodeling needs. The communal bathroom in the lobby was labeled “out of order,” but it wasn’t. They just didn’t want to clean it, I’m sure. The pool was cold at 45 degrees. I feel as though I paid twice as much as the room was worth.

The hotel was okay. The employees were all nice, and they were all hard workers, which leads me to believe maybe there aren’t enough employees. The pool area had not been cleaned in the span of 13 hour period, and it was not in a very clean state. The hotel is maybe going through a renovation, so the interior looks nothing like the pictures. You get the feeling being here that the owners are on the brink of the decision to either make some renovations/upgrade or let the hotel slip.

I stayed at this place for several days. One day they did not fix my room. I did not have clean towels or toiletries. The next day, they “ fix the bed” pull the covers half way. Everything looked clean and smelt clean. Stayed 2 days. Had staff ask if we wanted anything changed out for us. We didn’t check out breakfast due sleeping in. Bed was super comfy! Friendly staff and had smiles 😁

Upon arrival, we found the entire lobby under construction. A construction materials trailer was parked in the entry portico. Most of the construction, except for the front desk, was done by the time we left. Our room was on the third floor and we saw a lack of cleaning in the hallways and stairways. Absolutely zero vacuuming was done in these areas during our entire 10 day stay. It is a quiet area tucked back in the woods and we did sleep well.

My tv was not working at all then they switched me rooms and the lock for the door fell off… then I went to the bathroom and there was dirty towel that looked like there’s feces all over it… my room feels like it was never cleaned and it. The sheets and blankets look dirty.

Pros: The hotel was close to Pioneer Park and a fish hatchery. Also, it wasn't close to a street, so there wasn't any traffic noise. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day with meat choices varying each day (links, patties, bacon). The young man who works to set up the breakfast is a very hard worker. Saw him constantly running around throughout the day into the late evening. He and the front staff were very pleasant. Some renovations were being done in the lobby area the days we were at the hotel. There is a coffee/hot water machine and a machine that makes specialty drinks in the lobby. Cons: The bathroom is very small. Also, the sink is in the main area and not the bathroom. The toilet paper and tissues are made of rough paper. In addition, you can hear the people above you walking or when they are using the water. The person who took care of our room didn't make our bed. Instead, they pulled the covers up over the bed. This happened two out of our four nights there - the first night the bed was correctly made since we were new to the room. The dining area floorboards are dirty and the walls could use a wipe down. One morning, someone was vacuuming the hallway at 7:30am. That was the only time I saw/heard someone vacuum. The stairs never looked like they were cleaned.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and spacious (though the bathroom was a bit small). The hotel is located near the Chena River with a cool walking bridge to the other side of the river. The other side has Alaskaland which is fascinating to explore. There is also a wonderful bike/walking trail along the river. The breakfast was excellent with hot eggs, pancakes, sausage and lots of other options

Overall, mediocre. Cleanliness was decent, although there were exposed pipes with the sink. The description of my king suite with a fireplace stated there is a jetted tub - upon check in, the front desk said “next time you’ll have to stay in one of our jacuzzi suites with a whirlpool tub!” The king suite with a fireplace, although nice, was not as described, having only a basic shallow tub/shower combo. I was also woken up several times during the night to babies crying and guests having a domestic dispute. Not the hotel’s fault, but given that I’m typically a heavy sleeper, the walls provide little privacy.

You can tell this hotel is a little bit older it has some age markings around but that's okay it was still a nice clean acceptable hotel for the king suite that I had with the jetted tub it was not kept warm enough around the tub to enjoy it to the fullest and the bed was rather hard but besides that everything else was great

The property is nestled in a wooded area, so it is usually quiet there with the exception of an occasional train. The biggest complaint I have is there Wifi is very shotty. A good amount of people come to Fairbanks for work and that is why I was there and could barely do my work because the internet kept kicking me out. When I called to check on it, the front desk person who was there at that time I checked in without a smile when I first checked in. Her answer was there were others on there. Not oh no we will check on it or I am so sorry for the inconvenience. Very disappointing. Also, there was a strange odor in the room, almost sour-smelling. The hotel was full, so since the room was clean I did not bother complaining but it was obvious.

we had a room with 2 queen beds but the room really should only have had 1 bed. There was barely any space to walk between the beds and the beds and the walls - extremely cramped. There was only 1 luggage rack- with 2 people staying and each having their own suitcase -- one rack was inadequate. The bathroom had just a tiny bit of counter space, about 4 inches on each side of the sink...again, totally inadequate. It was not a comfortable amount of space for 2 people. We will not go back.

Place was very clean, staff was great. But, the climate control system in the room world not seen to let us make the room colder. Yeah, it was like seven degrees outside but I wanted the room to be 65-ish. Nope. Slept with no covers. Very warm. And the folks above were clearly part elephant.

Front desk clerk was very rude, the room that I paid for was over book putting me in a double queen. Did not offer any type of refund for being put into a lesser room. When calling the corporate office they were also rude telling me they have no affiliation with Expedia and since I booked through a third party they have no reason to give me any other discount. Well here is some news when you have a third party where they can book rooms for you, you are affiliated with them and the customers who get pushed aside are not happy especially when they pay in full up front and it’s for a special occasion. Front desk clerk was very rude, the room that I paid for was over book putting me in a double queen. Did not offer any type of refund for being put into a lesser room. When calling the corporate office they were also rude telling me they have no affiliation with Expedia and since I booked through a third party they have no reason to give me any other discount. Well here is some news when you have a third party where they can book rooms for you, you are affiliated with them and the customers who get pushed aside are not happy especially when they pay in full up front and it’s for a special occasion. I will not be booking anything else through Expedia for this reason and I will never stay at another Best Western.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the job site and I had my crew on in one place to simplify transportation. The motel is about a five minute walk from Pioneer Park. It is well maintained. It has an elevator. It is centrally located but feels rural. That said, you should have a rental car to get around. The only slight criticism is they were not operating their shuttle when we stayed there, due to “staffing priorities”.

This was a very decent place. Has a gym, pool and laundry room--nice perks. You also get breakfast included. It is located in a very quiet area with easy access to whichever direction you want to go. Staff very nice and helpful.

Pros: The hotel was close to Pioneer Park and a fish hatchery. Also, it wasn't close to a street, so there wasn't any traffic noise. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day with meat choices varying each day (links, patties, bacon). The young man who works to set up the breakfast is a very hard worker. Saw him constantly running around throughout the day into the late evening. He and the front staff were very pleasant. Some renovations were being done in the lobby area the days we were at the hotel. There is a coffee/hot water machine and a machine that makes specialty drinks in the lobby. Cons: The bathroom is very small. Also, the sink is in the main area and not the bathroom. The toilet paper and tissues are made of rough paper. In addition, you can hear the people above you walking or when they are using the water. The person who took care of our room didn't make our bed. Instead, they pulled the covers up over the bed. This happened two out of our four nights there - the first night the bed was correctly made since we were new to the room. The dining area floorboards are dirty and the walls could use a wipe down. One morning, someone was vacuuming the hallway at 7:30am. That was the only time I saw/heard someone vacuum. The stairs never looked like they were cleaned.

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The only drawback for us without a car was that it was a bit remote. It was a bit of a hike to the downtown area with restaurants, etc. and the hotel did not have a shuttle to help out.

We came a week after Labor Day and Pioneer Park was closed. They were upgrading the lobby area and construction materials were everywhere. The breakfast was amazing every morning. Hotel was nice but in the middle of nowhere.

This little gem is central to almost everything in Fairbanks. All of our plans were within 10 minutes. While close to the city, it is tucked in a little pocket of trees, so we woke up everyday to a pretty snow covered vista that felt like we were far away. The staff was friendly, the breakfast delicious, and the pool clean. The room with the hot tub was spacious with a very comfortable bed. We would definitely stay again if in Fairbanks!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Pioneer Inn. The front staff was very accommodating and helpful. The continental breakfast was tasty and had a vast selection daily. We especially liked the outdoor area. It was close to town but off the beaten path. We stayed in January and it was winter wonderland. Beautiful spot for taking pictures.

No prices on the vending machines, waffle machine was not working for 2 days, orange juice was mostly water, charged incorrectly at first then later it was corrected, no condiments like salt and pepper, mirror in room at belly button level, smoky elevators. Otherwise room was clean and bed comfortable and thermostat working.

Continental breakfast was worst I have had in the world. Coffee was good but mugs were empty ALL the time. Most mornings there were no silverware, no plates no bowls. Milk ran out ALL THE TIME.

Everything was clean, even the parking lot! The towels were nice, plenty of hot water, the beds were comfortable, and it looked like all ages really enjoyed using the swimming pool. We were able to walk to the Carlson Center and Pioneer Park area which was very convenient for college graduation ceremonies. The full breakfast (eggs, meats, potatoes, cereals, fruit, yogurt, alternative milks, pastries, muffins, teas, good customizable coffee...) was greatly appreciated everyday. The dining area was kept immaculate, the food options were kept completely stocked the entire breakfast time, and the food was hot, safe temperatures, varied menu, and always displayed beautifully. It tasted good, too! It was fascinating to watch the pancake making machine. Employees were very polite and hard-working. Someplace I read it is a two-star hotel, but in my opinion it was better than that. I'd be happy to stay there again.

Very limited staff due to staff shortage. No housekeeping service. Breakfast was ok, not great, but juice machine was out of order, which was ok other than that was the only way to get water. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

A/C not working in the large king room. Maintenance man worked for 2 hours before we were moved to a 2 Queen smaller room which was not as nice or clean. Not real happy about the inconvenience and no offer to compensate for the inconvenience. The staff were helpful and maintenance man was very apologetic. Probably would not stay there again.
