Super 8 by Wyndham Mesa Gilbert

It was very dirty, couch had stains all over it, bugs in the room, pool area was dirty and no needed repairs. Would never recommend to anyone ever

Outside the pool area was dirty with litter a lot of cigarette butts around the front door. their breakfast was granola bars .there are no screens on the windows. the some outlets didn't have covers. the bedspread was dirty the Linens look dirty

The property needs a good cleaning. Pool area needs a good cleaning. Outdoor furniture needs to be replaced as it is worn out. Pool railings loose some maintenance needed. Breakfast was coffee, crystal juice, and granola bars. Not expecting that.

People hanging around pool area from the neighborhood, not motel guests. Saw several drug deals in the parking lot, also not motel guests.

There was nothing unique about the property. Around the outside of the property there was trash and dog poop. Graffiti was painted on the poles around the pool. The side door window is broken and needs to be replaced before it falls out or someone gets hurt. In the room the A/C was extremely loud and musty smelling. To hear the TV when the A/C was running the sound had to be turned up very loud. The floor in the room was sticky and dirty. As for the breakfast, it consisted of a glass of juice, coffee and a granola bar, this barely meets a continental breakfast which is not what your amenities indicate. If this the way all Super 8s are needless to say we will never stay at one again.

When we checked in we were not told the elevator was out of service. We had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs and my husband has difficulty with stairs. The room smelled pretty bad and it was ice cold. When we turned on the TV there was no service. After checking with the front desk we were told the entire hotel was without TV service. We were then told that there was nothing that could be done and they would not refund us the cost of the room. We would expect better service and we would expect a refund from Travelocity for $108 for the cost of the room.

This was advertised with free breakfast, pool and hot tub. The hot tub is ice cold and when we went to breakfast this morning there are 3 granola bars and watered down drinks. I could have paid less to stay at a motel without amenities but I paid extra for them here when they are not available. Very upset that my money was wasted.

Bedding was stained and seemed to not have been washed. The shower was not cleaned as there was leftover soap wrapper in there. The sink was absolutely disgusting. Heard every noise from upstairs to each room to the staff. The key lock did not work either. Online it looked good and for the price thought it would have been way better than what I got. Definitely would never go again!

Stinky, bugs

There was old food/crumbs in several different places on the floor. There was a large sized “bubble” in the ceiling in the bathroom. During the night, the bubble popped and water exploded all over the bathroom floor. The sink was clogged, which wasn’t apparent at first. I noticed when I was brushing my teeth and the sink started to fill up. Terribly gross. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.

Our stay at the Mesa/Gilbert Super 8 by Wyndham was nothing short of shocking. After a long drive, we expected a comfortable suite. Especially since we paid extra for one. Instead, we walked into a room that was completely unacceptable by any standard. The bathroom sink appeared as though someone had gotten sick in it and it had never been cleaned. The I noticed what looked disturbingly like blood smeared on the door. This wasn't just poor housekeeping, this was a serious sanitation issue. I went straight to the front desk to report what we found and request cleaning. Their response was unbelievable: they told me there were no cleaning staff available and actually OFFERED ME A RAG SO I COULD CLEAN THE MESS MYSELF! When I requested a different room, they refused to accommodate us in any way. This level of neglect and disregard for guests' health and safety is completely unacceptable. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. Please, learn from our experience and DO NOT STAY HERE. This property failed on every basic standard of cleanliness, service, and responsibility.

I walked in to the bathroom to find a large clump of hair in the toilet. Graffiti on the vanity. Holes in both bedspreads. Sticky floors. As a result, we avoided using the shower. Elevator floor had streaks of mud on it. No SMILES from either the night or morning front desk personnel.

I wasn’t expecting a luxury hotel at this price point but thought it would be clean and kept up and entirely no smoking as it was affiliated with Wyndham. Was I wrong. The reservation was made and checked several times as I required a handicap accessible room with roll in shower and a roll away bed. When we arrived the one roll away bed they had was being used and they were out of linens and pillows so we were given a few sheets to make a bed for my son on the floor. It was unsafe for me to use the shower because the shower chair was not properly attached to the wall and I was worried I might fall. The smell of smoke was so strong on the first floor, the nonsmoking floor, that all of us asthmatics were coughing the entire time we were there. The room was not clean, the bedding old and torn, the shower and bathroom were dark, dingy and gross with mildew throughout the shower floor. The “light breakfast” consisted of watered down coffee that looked like tea and a handful of granola bars that didn’t get refilled when they quickly ran out. Do not recommend staying at this hotel. It was disappointing because it looked nothing like the pictures. I don’t know how Wyndham can be affiliated with this hotel and not require that they make some upgrades and maintain a certain level of cleanliness, safety, service, and not be an entirely nonsmoking campus?

This was an awful experience. The front desk lady barely spoke or looked at us. The entire place smelled like marijuana (even at 8am). The guests above us must have been playing basketball at 6:30 this morning. There was hair still on the bathroom floor and in the shower. There was public hair on the back of the toilet. When I woke up during the night to use the restroom a roach had to climb back into the drain. There was a piece of wood securing our outdoor window. A man outside was selling sunglasses and another man was asking for cigarettes. This will be a never again for us!

The rooms were nasty the bathroom nasty it smells in the room like embedded smoke The bedding was dirty had to switch rooms still very dirty slept in my clothes so dirty

Customer service sucks at this location and they do not want to refund my money for their roaches that they have in their rooms Do not ever get a room here..

There was no hot water available, cold shower should have gotten me a discount on a high price. Will not stay at Super 8’s anymore.

The room smell like smoke and there was a dog next to us that bark every time he heard noice the bending machines where next to us and the kids where around them at all times the laundry room was across the room so the noise started at 7am and at 7:30 the cleaning lady walk into the room without knocking

For a place to sleep and shower this is great, but the bedding had burn holes. The deadbolt on the door didn’t work. The bathroom door had been kicked in once and “repaired” but latched poorly. Hotel room window was cracked and just taped over. The wall ac definitely needs a filter and cleaning as the air coming out has a unique smell. The hotel hallway smells of pot and cigarettes. Multiple vehicles in the parking lot with windows that have been broken out and covered with plastic or tape. Definitely not someplace I would take my family to stay, but good enough for a work trip.

Not Dog Friendly! Horribly Noisy!

The room and the hallway smelled like somebody had been smoking. We aired out our room with lysol and blocked the bottom of the door. Hallway was bad

The agent when I checked in initially, the first time was extremely friendly, and she seemed like she knew her business when I went to the elevator to go to my room the elevator had all kinds of trash in it and crumbs from chips strewn out all over the floor I didn’t feel very safe walking around this motel at certain times of the night, and I had asked for a room close to the elevator and they put me down a long haul all by myself in a corner. My window to my room did not close properly and I had to constantly watch my back to make sure nobody followed me to my room, and I constantly took the stairs so that way I was in the open in case I needed or had trouble , and I was literally watching my time I was there was just grungy to point. I had holes in my bedspread. There were corners in the bathroom that weren’t clean very well. The staff did come in and change out my towels even when I didn’t need them they didn’t make my bed or anything , cause I was only there for three days and they only do linens and laundry every three days but I did have a good stay even though the TV didn’t work at all. I couldn’t get it off of a particular source and I wasn’t there very often to use it anyway, so it didn’t really bother me I would probably stay there again just because it was really cost-effective and right on the entrance to the Gilbert Road US 60 West Freeway entrance and my room butted up against the freeway entrance so I could sit and watch traffic if I wanted to

Kinda blazè…sketchy mainly. As was brushing my teeth I feel my feet getting sprinkled on then drenched as I lean over to realize the bathroom piping under the sink is not sealed closed and is pouring onto floor. I notified them immediately and nothing was done to help me nor the sink. I checked out the following morning. Gross

Burnt holes in blankets. Original room was smookie. Unsafe feeling.

There was no hot water! Flooring was tore up. Ceiling was falling in.

Upon checking in i need an emergency bathroom break. The clerk at the desk said “we don’t have a public restroom. It was only after I pleaded with her that she begrudginglygave me the keys to the employee restroom. When we started walking to the room, everything smelled like smoke, including the room. Then the next morning there was a loud noise and the ceiling was leaking all over the place in the bathroom. we couldn’t shower or anything else because the floors were flooded. I went down and told the clerk at the desk and she said there’s no maintenance available but that she could give us another room. I told her that wouldn’t be necessary cause we were checking out, but I told her that they would not charge us for the room. She told me I need to call Expedia. The room was number 118.

Went to check in and no one was at the counter. Rang the bell twice and no response. Apparently the check in person was in the adjacent office on the phone. Two others employees told her that there were customers waiting and she was at least 10 minutes before she came out. Barely apologized and was rude when she checked me in. Explained nothing about breakfast, checkout time, where to park and load, etc. Just told me my room number and handed me my room keys. Poor check in service.

The toilet was clogged when we got to the room, I called and there was no answer. I went to the front desk to tell them and I was handed a plunger and told to bring it back once I was done using it

Nice customer service

Upon check in we were over charged and the front desk staff did not enter our existing reservation details and did not enter our discount, AAA, details so we were not given the discount although she said she applied it and took a copy of our AAA card. The property was noisy all night long. The front desk was difficult to deal with regarding their errors. The security staff was great and watched the parking lot. The housekeeping lady was delightful and efficient. We appreciated her very much. We are still following up with the Super 8 by Wynham Mesa/ Gilbert for our overcharge amount. This has not been an easy task to get our over charge in the amount of $138.04.

Our guests arrived here late after driving 12 hours to reach their destination. Once they checked in and went to their rooms, they were filthy. There were dead bugs on the floor and beds and cigarette burns in the sheets. They brought it to the attention of the staff and told them they couldn’t stay there in the uncleanliness. They talked to the girl at the front and she called the manager. They both apologized and said they would refund them for the rest of the nights but we would have to call Expedia and have them do it. Well 2 days later Expedia got ahold of them and they denied the refund. We paid up front for 3 nights! The guests didn’t spend one night there and had to find another hotel late at night. If I could give a negative 10 out of 10 I would. Stay away.

Front seat personal was helpful and very pleasant.

This property was run down, filthy, and many homeless around. The room had dirty socks in it and other customers were plain scary. This is not a safe place.

This was a last case situation to stay here. Wish i hadn't, drug dealers and homeless everywhere. Took forever to find a safe restaurant to eat at.

All in all, this Super 8 is in a good area, close to restaurants and shopping. My double queen bedroom wasn't as clean as the king room I had, the first time I stayed here, and it smelled slightly like cigarettes, but the bed was comfy.

Easy access off and on the freeway. The hotel is old and a little rundown however it was pretty clean. Beds were comfortable. There was no breakfast as stated on the Travelocity site. It was nice that we were able to have our dog with us. There's a really nice part within walking distance that we were able to take her to and run her. There's a nice little strip mall with a thrift store and a Dollar tree and a Big 5 in it and a nice quiet subdivision to also walk our dog in.

Even though I requested a non smoking room, the room smelled of smoke as well as the hallways. Additionally the pillow cases were not clean. The pictures were very misleading. Hotel is located in a good area around things.

The place is very dated, not filthy but certainly not the best. One big downside is if a property advertises that your stay includes breakfast it should have more than a couple breakfast bars. Coffee was good but the orange juice was empty and the apple juice side was more water than juice

Run down everything. They advertised free breakfast and all they offered was extremely watered down orange juice from concentrate and a few tiny Quaker granola bars. Please do better or don't offer at all!

Pros. Inexpensive, good sized room, fairly quiet, basic amenities. Pool and hotub.pet friendly. Small fridge in room. Cons. Roaches in bathroom, "free breakfast " consists of 9 granola bars in a small container and a coffee machine. No coffee machine in room. For an inexpensive, basic place to stay, this location is ok. Just wish there weren't roaches.

They don’t have a free breakfast. It was a granola bar and a cup of OJ or coffee. It smelled like bleach everywhere which felt like someone just died and needed to be cleaned up. I got sick and checked out after only spending one night although I paid for 3 and they wouldn’t budge on a refund, even just one night. The bed was so uncomfortable and felt like a jail cell with the brick walls. Pay a little more to stay somewhere nicer. I came here for the breakfast but without that it’s a no go.

The listing says breakfast included, they consider granola bars breakfast. Coffee, juice, and granola bars for breakfast....false advertising!

It was terrible, website said coffee make in room, but there was none. Website said they had breakfast and all you got was a granola bar. Nothing like all the other Super *'s we have stayed in before. Wyndam should close this property.
