Breakfast options were very basic, this is the first La Quinta I’ve stayed at that has not served a hot egg/bacon/sausage option. The hotel was in okay condition, not great. The building I was put in did not have a working elevator, I was told this on arrival and I should have asked for another room. I did not feel safe going out after dark due to the homeless population. The room I was put in had a corner that was empty where I assume a table should be since there was a chair there. The bed in the room was in okay condition, I slept well. The tub was outdated and needed a good cleaning. Thankfully the air unit worked great.

The pool was down and it’s been down for months. Our AC unit wasn’t working so we had to switch our room. The elevator is also down for those with physical disabilities. Overall it’s not maintained.

I chose this hotel because of the pool and breakfast because I had my daughter with me and the pool was shut down. It was 112 degrees both days. Also the noise level from the surrounding streets made it hard to sleep.

The room was super clean. The elevators were not working and it was hard for a person who is disabled to get to the second floor when they stated no bottom rooms available. Staff was very nice.

Overall the room was very tolerable. I would say most of the complaint is the fact that they were under construction when we were there so you couldn't access the pool which is very unfortunate in this hot July Heat. I like the fact that they did offer waffles for breakfast hotels that offer a complimentary breakfast are very good

There is no refrigerator in any room. Place seens very unsafe . The attendant not very friendly and do not know what she is doing I asked for a room with refrigerator and she gave me two different rooms without refrigerator she should just say they do not have and let me be able to cancel the reservation . It is very bad a place do not invest in a refrigerator

Went there for the pool but it was green and dirty and wasn’t informed when we booked we wanted to cancel and get money back and hotel staff didn’t want to help us even tho we arrived there to cancel before we were charged.

Jordyn was the associate who checked us in. She was engaging, easy to talk to and very clear with the process. Room was clean, my wife loved the Dove toiletries, there were signs stating they were under renovation, the breakfast area was clean and provided a yummy start to the day; the only down side was that the pool was closed.

1 of the elevator was not working. Had to use stairs to go to 3rd floor or walk to the other side of the building to use the elevator. Staff is friendly but the place needs remodeling.

The staff was nice but bad area. Holess people roaming the parking area and searching trash. Bugs crawling in the room. We would have left but we did not know area and husband was tired of driving and needed to sleep and couldn't due to worrying about our car. Would never stay here again and would not recommend.

The bathroom was so dirty. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling off. No soap. Only one wash cloth. Missing light bulbs in lights. The floor in the bathroom was so so dirty. With old floor glue on it.

We found cockroaches in our room, the TV was not working at all, there wasn’t a table. And the room was overall dusty, the sink clogged up, and lastly the bathroom wasn’t clean and the shower had stains all over it. Overall, bad experience for 4 people staying.

This was the worst place ever roaches all over the room, my daughter was in the hospital by there and my husband and 3 kids needed somewhere to sleep while I was at the hospital with our daughter. They were in the room for 5 minutes and had to leave immediately due to the roaches and they refused to refund us the money for the room and were rude about it. They wanted to switch them to a different room but if one room has roaches they all do and with special needs kids and my husband having medical issues they can not be around that. We live in WA and my husband had to go sit in the parking lot of the kern medical center with our 3 kids until my daughter was released at 7am. I called the to talk to the manager and was told they werent there they would be back in a hour and they would call me and I never got a call back. I will be contacting the bakersfield health department tomorrow. DO NOT STAY HERE

Temps in Bakersfield over 104° and the AC in our room did not work. Room had an odd odor. Found that there was some water saturation and damage of floor in bathroom. Mildew odor. Has to be heavy mold damage. Also tiny roach like bugs from cracks in tile in bathroom and vanity area around sink. Water oozed up from under flooring when stepped up on. Remote for TV didn't work, worked intermittently. Alarm clock went off at 4 AM, turned off. Went off every 20 minutes. Couldn't get it unplugged! Think I got three hours of uninterrupted sleep then little stints of 15 minutes there. Rough driving home. We were unable to get breakfast, not even coffee. Packed with people from open (7 AM) until at least 9:15 and we had to leave and get on the road. At checkout the clerk was apologetic but made excuse that owner recently purchased and was making repairs. Room 106 should not be given out until it is completely scrapped and repaired. Really disappointed.

Tv was broken. Bedsheets were very old. Shower curtain was cut and had a hole in it. The door hindge was being held together by a screwdriver. Bathroom faucet was not glued to the wall. Water pressure was horrible. The toilet was not screwed to the floor.

Cockroaches in my room, spent the entire time killing them. Room otherwise was ok. Looks like I got one of the "older" rooms as I saw the remodeled ones and those are way nicer, bigger fridge.. wish I would've gotten one of those. My room just looks ghetto, missing lampshade, etc.

Wife complained about her pillows. We did not request a handicapped room,but would have appreciated grab bars in the shower and the extra space. The room is not sound proofed well. Even though our room was near the rear of the property (far from the ice machine), we could hear the roar of the freeway several hundred feet away all night. We could hear anyone passing by our door, especially if pushing a cart over the slip free plates for the handicapped rooms next door.

The king suite was huge, so that was nice. It's also right next door to Ihop and Dennys. But, neither tv worked properly, the drain plug in the bathtub was out and just laying in the tub, the paint job in the bathroom looks like they hired my 10 yr old to do it and the microwave didnt work. Also...the outside door closest to our room that is supposed to remain locked 24/7 wouldn't even close, let alone lock.

The 1st room they gave us was a shared room. We unlocked a mystery door and there was another family sleeping there with a dog! We immediately closed the door and walked to the front office to get another room that wasn't sharing an access door with another room. That 2nd room was okay. It was already midnight so we decided to get some rest and hope that nothing weird happened at night so we could wake up the next morning and continue our journey back home. Overall this wasn't too bad but it wasn't up to the standard of the traditional La Quinta hotels.

The staff was very nice but the walls were very thin and other guests were very loud. The room smelled good, but looked very dirty, needed a lot of paint touch ups and one of the lamp shades was really broken.

I called your reservations number to confirm your hotel was pet friendly. I was told there was a $25 pet fee. So I booked the hotel at hotels.com and when i arrived the clerk said it was a $50 pet fee. So i paid it after complaining that i was told it was $25. After i checked out i get a form by email and it said $25 pet fee. I would like to get tgat credited back to me.

When I arrived, the energy of the desk receptionist was not welcoming. She seemed to be having a really bad day. She gave us our room, and it was not as expected. There were dirty walls that had boogers and stains, the bathroom had growing mold, the carpet was really dirty with a lot of spots, and when you entered the room, it smelled of cigarette and urine. On the booking the room states no smoking. We asked the receptionist to switch our rooms, but insisted that there were no more rooms available. When I called before arriving, I was told that there are other rooms that were available, and that once I arrived I could be accommodated for any open room. Also the receptionist was being so rude she even lied and told us her name was Stephanie, but it was actually Jordyn. I asked her multiple times to change my room and she also suggested that I just can cancel the room and have my money refunded back. In the end she told me that the room was canceled, but it wasnt and I was told by supervisor Nemo and Manager Desiree that I was only going to get refunded only half price of the room. I did not stay at the hotel at all for to still be charged a night. There were also other guests that cancelled their room because it was not up to par nor clean. I was told half the refund, but they actually charged my account in full still. I will never visit nor stay at this La Quinta again.

Ask manager!!! Room entered by staff at 1am in morning family awoke with someone in our room. Was given no reason or explanation for staff in room .

There were stains on the conforter and on the fabric on one of the chairs. The stain on tbe chair was clearly visible, white stain on green fabric. The shower had mold. Around the bath tube. There were stains on the back of the room door. The breakfast was low quality. Carbs and coffee. The bananas were all black. I opened one and had to tossed it. No protein.

La Quinta Bakersfield South was better than I expected. The room was quite adaquate, beds comfortable, good ac. The breakfast was nice, especially the waffles. It is a little run down especially the pool area where the lounges were in awful condition, but I would consider staying there again. One thing I did not like was when I made the reservation I saw it was pet friendly and it was, but nowhere did it say anywhere in the listings that there was a $50 charge for the pet. This property needs a renovation. This is nothing like other la quinta s I have visited so far. Room was not that good. In breakfast area roaches noticed inside the trays. Staffs were good and helpful.

newly redecoration was a bit of a failure. very plain and just painted over old. relatively clean but blanket on bed was badly stained. Bed was way too soft (although that is a personal preference) breakfast was decent though no hot foods were offered other than a waffle iron. Staff was friendly. There were some very loud obnoxious other guests. location was good as we were just passing though as was fine for this purpose.

This room was excellent because it was very clean to get some rest before finishing a long trip. There’s a IHOP right next to the hotel. I suggest going there and skipping the breakfast at the hotel because there is no protein or fresh fruit.
