Very small pool and jacuzzi which were totally fine. In fact I had them all to myself. There's not much near the hotel but Encinitas is only a 7-minute Drive which has everything you need.

Hotel was very clean & the beds were comfy, but could use some room updates. Just being picky, but the light-blocking curtains had holes in them & were patched up with tape. There was a gap under the door that let humid air in & could have let critters & bugs in (although we didn't see any). Also, the shower curtain wasn't long enough to prevent the water from getting on the floor during/ after showers. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and there was a nice outdoor fireplace area with comfy outdoor couches near the pool--it was nice sitting there at night relaxing with a beer. The location was perfect as it was fairly close to all the things we wanted to see. The breakfast buffet was busy, but the food was fresh & hot with a lot of variety compared to some free breakfast buffets. Overall a good deal when compared to a lot of the other over-priced hotels in the area.

The stay was good except: 1) the keycard didn’t work multiple times to the point we had to go downstairs three times to get a new one; 2) When we tried to do laundry, my daughter’s swimsuit got burned. Breakfast was pretty good, location as well.

Extremely clean hotel despite it being old. There was visible wear and tear (crack in sink, tear in wallpaper) but I needed a cheap place to sleep not luxury comfort. I was VERY impressed with the check in process and the staff accessibility. I called a couple times and someone always answered from the hotel not an 800 phone number. Parking was free and there was plenty of parking and I felt safe as I came late each night. I left my favorite hat in the hotel room and when I called, they said if they find it they would mail it to me, but I haven’t heard anything so I am sad about that. I would definitely stay at this La Quinta again. I appreciated the reviews of other people talking about how clean it is.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the amenities the hotel had to offer (good breakfast selection as well as the laundry facilities). Our room was comfortable and we were impressed that we couldn't hear noise from the highway. The pullout bed was the only issue as it was a twin size pull out. Thankfully my kids made it work.

It was a really nice experience. They were all really kind and the food in the morning was delicious. I didn’t get to go into the gym to workout but I did see it and it’s a nice little gym.

Excellent service by front desk manager. Nice free early morning breakfast. Pool is very small. Nice fire pit area, but several large cockroaches also enjoy it😬. Right next to the freeway with no barrier wall. Overall good value.

The walls were super thin, neighbors were screaming and children running up and down the stairs all night. Spa was down when we got there, and it’s so close to the highway you can hear every sound.

Would not recommend. The check-in process was chaotic and the woman up front was unprofessional, disorganized, and slow. Once we checked into to the room there was this overwhelming stench, ripped up carpet, stained pictures, stained phone, and rotting bath tub.

Looks good from outside but the 2 rooms that we got were terrible. Bad smell in the room, sink faucet didn't work and only hot water comes out. The phone was broken. Pillows were so small. Carpet in the room was worn out and ripped. The shower walls had mildew. The shower diverter lever was stuck and very hard tonpull up.

I booked this hotel because I have stayed with Wyndham before and my stays have always been pleasant until now. I booked a king room with fold out mattress and after going into the room the odor of urine was prominent. When I went to the front desk they sent us to a new room that was smaller and the condition of the room was less than what was expected. The room smelled of smoke. The room was smaller than the one we originally booked and we were not given a reimbursement for the downgrade in the room. The room was in poor condition. I will say cleaning staff cleans the the room daily but the atmosphere of the room was definitely not what we payed for.

The room service is not doing a good job. They clean fast and not clean at all. The carpet in the room is so dirty, and the bathtub is dirty. Pictures online are very pretty and nice. But when you get a room, very disappointed, it doesn't look clean at all.

Bed had a faint smell of urine. Carpets smelled of mildew. Huge yellow stain on the side of the mattress and crusty stains on the couch. Super noisy from freeway. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The place is a Motel 6 masquerading as a La Quinta—in fact, I’ve stayed at nicer Motel 6s. Several. It’s near a lot of great spots, but it’s nearer the sewage plant. I’d call it a must skip destination. The musty smell of the 1970s was made complete by a very hearty and hale cockroach in the bathroom. No thanks. Find a worse option; it will probably be batter.

The hotel is in very poor condition, nothing like the photos. 0 stars for the owners, it smells very damp, the carpet and ceiling are in very bad condition. We had to keep the windows open because the smell is unbearable. 5 stars for those who clean the rooms. 5 stars for the ladies who prepared breakfast.

I usually enjoy staying at La Quinta, however this is my first time staying at the Lego land location. Very disappointed about this particular location. Carpet was disgusting. You don’t see it because is dark but I was wearing white socks and they literally looked black after walking on the carpet. We found ants on the bed we stayed in the 3rd floor so I can’t imagine the lower floors. I definitely don’t come back to this location

We got to play the daily game of door key roulette. It was always a 50-50 shot as to whether the key would work, or if we'd have to go back to the front desk to get them reset. There was always a line of people having the same issue.. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were nice and accommodating. The property could use some minimal repair. Our room door had a large gap at the bottom of the door that let plenty of light and bugs. I had to stuff some towels at the bottom to keep ants and other bugs out. Breakfast was nice, good options with fresh fruit. There's also several dinning options within a small area of the hotel, and Lego land is less than a 10 minute drive to the parking lot.

Pros - Location, Quiet, Comfortable bed. Cons - Furniture old and chipped and beat up. Sofa back cushion ripped. TV not sharp. Bathtub area needs rehab. Room cleaned once in 4 days after we asked.

For an affordable property, it was very nice. Had a clean and comfortable room with a refrigerator and microwave, a nice pool and jacuzzi, and a great breakfast for the family. Also, it was within walking distance of several places we visited, which was nice. The location, however, was a bit too close to the freeway, and the noise was bothersome.

Nice hotel. I definitely recommend staying here. The area is very safe. However, you will need a car to get anywhere. The hotel staff are all very kind and professional, and they do their jobs well. If your room is on the freeway side, it may be a little noisy.

Very close to beach but also the freeway which will wake you up if you’re a light sleeper. Stayed here three time but was very disappointed this time. The fridge didn’t work, three of the outlets didn’t work. Hair was in the tub and one of the towels. The tv stand was dirty. Very disappointed this time.

It wasn't the worst place I've been but it was not what I expected based on photos. Perhaps it was our specific room but the major complaints of the room were incredibly low water pressure in the shower, limited temperature range, any noise outside could be clearly heard in the room. These general concerns made minor things like chipping paint, uneven floors, furniture not level causing the drawers to open on their own constantly really highlight the landlord special feel. Overall it's not the worst, but I probably wouldn't go back with my family.

Liked the location. Room 222 had roaches crawling around the 1st morning and the tub spout was loose. Had to call staff for assistance. Very disappointed with the laundry conditions. Only 2 machines and issues with the coin dispenser, staff spent and struggled for awhile to dislodge coins from the washer, while 3 guests waiting to use. Major issues with the key to open entry door to room, had to walk back to lobby to get new keys. Also noticed other guest having same issue. Meanwhile Mgr. Kevin was very patient, apologized and calm while getting new keys. The morning breakfast crowd was bad and there was no order on how to move from station to station. Too many people in a small space trying to get breakfast. Potatoes were not thoroughly cooked, hard in the center. Kitchen staff service was great, they tried really hard to accommodate guests, rooms were decently cleaned, early in the day and appreciate the number of towels provided.

I reserved 3 rooms at the same time and upon checking in, they were not all next to each other. Disappointing. The girl checking me in got an attitude. Then the manager came and asked me to talk to him somewhere else, as if he didn't want the other guests to hear. Didn't do anything to try and fix the situation. Then told me because I booked through Expedia, I should of called the actual hotel to make sure my rooms were correct. I shouldn't have to call. I reserved 3 rooms, I paid for them, they should have been together, period. The bathroom shower had someone else's hair. The outside looks old and then they just put a coat of paint.

Prepaid a four night stay but had a medical emergency and had to return home after two nights. Property manager would not refund two unused nights even with documentation showing the medical emergency. Lost over $290! Is that how you want to be treated as a customer?

Everything was wrong with this place. They overcharged me, and the keys didn’t work. I tried changing rooms or having it fixed every day, but nothing worked. I had to go every time I needed to go to the room I had to get new key cards. I always stay at La Quinta hotels and have never experienced this before.

I want to start off by saying the staff was very polite. The hotel need to hire more help for holidays. I didn't get my until 3:13pm pass check in time. Then had to walk downstairs twice because room key didn't work. I feel I should've received some type of discount.

The room was clean and comfortable. I just didnt realize how close to the freeway the hotel was. I am a light sleeper, so for me personally it made for a restless night. My child however slept soundly. The breakfast was packed (hotel is popular and budget friendly) but we also arent picky breakfast eaters so it had what we needed and more. The pool is small but the kids looked like they were having fun and the lounge area had a chill vibe. Ive stayed at various hotels in that area and this is the best deal. It’s just has a noisy freeway next to it. Id stay tjere again but bring headphones or request a room as far from the freeway as possible

Convenient location, free parking, reasonably priced. Very close to highway, so the rooms at that end of the building are very noisy. Breakfast on weekends starts at 7. Would be nice if they let the guests have access to lobby to get coffee earlier, like most other places

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is conveniently located just off the freeway, but we didn’t really hear any traffic. The pool is small but then we didn’t mind because the beach was a short walk 😊 the rooms were a little tight and outdated, but they were clean. There were lots of things to do nearby.

If you’re looking for a basic and semi clean property this is the spot for you. For the price you pay compared to other options this is a good spot for the budget minded traveler. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are basic, but get the job done. A close drive to the beach which is the South Carlsbad state beach. The north end of the beach has parking and easy beach access. Also a grocery store and some food options are within walking distance

Easy to get to, great parking, front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was good, towels were very nice, better than every other hotel I have ever stayed in. Closet smelled funny but it was easy to just keep the door closed. The breakfast was supposed to go until 11 and they were shutting it down by 9:30, the staff was literally taking things away as we and other people were still using them. Coffee was empty. The waffles were good though. I also think it’s way cheaper to not book through Expedia. I’m sadly finding that out this trip that I booked hotels, car rental and flights. Car rental ended up being twice what it would have been directly through the company and hotels about a 1/4-1/3 more. I will be contacting Expedia about that and is no fault of the individual hotels and rental companies.

This place is built for families visiting Legoland. There were four waffle machines in the breakfast room to cater to their little guests. The other breakfast options were also well thought out keeping kids in mind, like scrambled eggs, muffins, yoplait, fruit loops, juices, fruit, PBJ. There was plenty of seating space since everyone with kids tends to come down for breakfast between 8 and 9 am. They even put cartoons on TV in the breakfast room. Overall it was a nice place, and excellent value for money. The only downside is that it was a bit noisy due to kids in every room, and the walls werent soundproof. So it might not be convenient for business travelers
