Such a great hotel for the price and location. You’re right across the street form the Carlsbad Outlets and the Flower Fields. The property is large and very lush so it feels like you’re somewhere else not at all near a mall. There’s also a direct connection with the Windmill Food Hall which is great for everyone. The pool is actually heated. So many places say theirs is and it’s not but this one was very comfortable. Rooms are very well upgraded. Only downside is the beds are super hard. Feels like a box spring with a thin mattress pad over it. Regardless it’s an excellent choice for the area.

Lobby was being remodeled, made one of the rooms the temporary lobby. I didn’t know they had no elevator.. bad leg and I had to take all of our bags a luggage up two flights of stairs… The jacuzzi was not working. Not what I expected…..

The AC was down for the entire property, and no notice of warning was sent out, and we were also not notified during check in. There was an unexpected amenity fee, when amenities were scarce. Worst of all, there were so many mosquitos in our room. I killed at least 5 and got no sleep. It made the stay uncomfortable and made the point of an overnight stay pointless, as we were hoping to be well rested for the morning at Legoland instead of waking up early to drive down.

Rooms were nice/new looking on the inside, like they have been recently remodeled. The exterior, however, seems a bit outdated. The exterior door to my room didn't want to close until I pushed it shut. Even then it seemed like it wasn't all the way flush with the frame. Looked like it was ajar a crack but it wasn't. Called about ice machine, and they gave directions... Went down and ice machine was missing from where it should have been. Found another one, but it seemed odd. Only two machines for several hundred rooms (front desk said they had two), but one was missing. Pool was closed for maintenance, which isn't that unusual. Just wish places would advertise as such on their site, since it's a feature a lot of people look for. On the plus side, lots of shopping/dining options nearby, many within walking distance. All in all, not a bad place for the price, but could use some sprucing up on the outside.

We enjoyed our stay here as a family of four. The grounds were nice and kids had room to play. Location was great for us as we were visiting Legoland and the Carlsbad Flower Fields. I wish they had notified us in advance the pool was being remodeled. We likely would have stayed elsewhere. Kids were disappointed they could not swim.

Pool was advertise as completed for repairs, only the reason we booked the hotel, even got an email from the property that the pool was open. When we hot to the hotel the pool was under repair so as the gym. A lot of constriction. Wish the property notified us so we could have cancelled early

This has been the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed at. Don’t be fooled by the fact that this place had a cool looking windmill, decent courtyard, cool party room for weddings, and a cool place to eat. Their rooms were DISGUSTING! The outside of the rooms looks DISGUSTING! My room which was 243 was so gross I called Expedia immediately to cancel my 2nd night. The floor wasn’t even mopped or swept. My feet got black within 20 mins. The bathroom floor I wiped with a towel because I took a shower and got water on it and the towel picked up dirt and black. There was rust all around the doors and spots of black dust on the ceiling. The front doors lock didn’t even shut. The vent was full of dust. The room came with 2 queen beds and one was missing a comforter and the sheet that was on it had face makeup on the corner. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t changed from the previous people which further grossed me out. When I called to the front desk about it they said come down and get one. Wow. No im sorry just come and get one. I didn’t because it was 940 at night and my hubby and baby were asleep in the next bed and I wasn’t going to walk down their alone. I got no sleep because I was cold and itched all night. When I turned on my flashlight to look if something kept hitting my face I noticed so much dust in their. I was traumatized. I told the cleaning lady in the morning. At least she said sorry. People DONT BE FOOLED BY THIS PLACE. Also Expedia should really consider taking them off.

We stayed here on a quick trip over Memorial Day weekend. It worked for what we needed, mainly to sleep. Overall, it was okay, and we would consider staying again, it wouldn’t be our first choice. The location is definite plus-centrally located and convenient to nearby attractions. The room itself was just average and could use a deep clean. There were noticeable stains on the walls, ceilings, desk and even the bedding. The floors were visibly dirty, so keep your shoes on. We also saw a roach on the second sat, which may have been due to construction around the property. On the positive side, the front desk was friendly and coffee available in the lobby. The pool was decent, though only one door appeared to be working, so guests had to let each other in. Pool towels were more like oversized rags. The hotel is connected to a wedding venue and food hall, which was convenient. Lots of food options within walking distance and shopping. They also offer a shuttle to and from legoland which we didn’t use but appreciated as an option. In summary, this place did the job for a short stay, but cleanliness was a major drawback. We’d stay again if necessary, but wouldn’t be our top pick.

This property is bit older and shows signs of in need of some maintenance and repairs to further improve guest experience. Housekeeping needs to pay attention! Our sheets had blood stains and 2 out of 4 towels were very dirty. We called upon the front desk to replace sheets and towels - which they did but this experience is not ideal for anyone. Attentive housekeeping could have easily taken care of this. The highlight of the hotel was it's proximity to variety of dining options and complimentary shuttle to Legoland.

I was deeply disappointed by my recent experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, we found the room to be unclean, which was already unsettling. The real shock came later that evening when we discovered rodent droppings on the bed. This was not only disgusting but also completely unacceptable from a health and safety standpoint. I chose not to stay and immediately canceled my reservation, as I no longer felt safe or comfortable on the premises. This hotel experience ruined my family trip to say the least. I strongly urge the hotel to address these cleanliness and sanitation issues for the safety of future guests.

Less of them what I seen on pics. Room was decent but a bit yucky. The door seemed to have once been broken into . The light switches weren’t wiped , the tissues were wet upon pulling them out. (At bottom) I thought maybe it was just the first one, but it ended up being every single one after that. So I ended up taking off the tissue cover flipping over the box and the whole bottom of the tissue boxes was wet and it wasn’t just a clear liquid. It had a brown stain on it. Beds were comfy. Found a pincher bug in the shower in the morning. The shower also wouldn’t drain very well. Loved the location to legoland which is why we were there. No free breakfast. Pool was nice and big and heated, hot tub was super hot the first day and lukewarm the next, also had the look of being dirty but may have been the age of it. And your room might not always be ready at check in time, as we had to wait an extra 30 minutes after a 7 hour road trip with two littles , front desk staff weren’t super friendly, overall probably wouldn’t go back.

The spider with his huge web at the door was friendly. lol Sofa bed wasn’t ready for use. Had to request blankets and pillows. I do appreciate the prompt response to address so there’s that. No closet space or luggage holder. Shower was stained and no soap dish/holder options. No lighting around bathroom mirror.

I was disappointed that after I added a night to my reservation thru hotels.com app my rate increased significantly per night. I never got a notice there was a price rate change. Also it was a nice hotel but we were on the 5 Freeway side that was the noisiest n had to Keep the ac going constantly n slider closed to keep the noise level manageable to sleep

We had high hopes for this place and while the new furniture and fixtures make the room look updated, the building itself is not. The door to enter our room was right by the parking lot and road so there was added noise anytime someone went by. The worst was our room (115) had a door between the room next to it. There were large 1/2-1” gaps on all sides of the door so a TON of noise came through. You could hear whispers from the next door- let alone their screaming (both children and adults) until 10:30 at night. It was rough. I tried to stuff the gaps with towels but it didn’t help. It felt like they were in our room with us. If you have to stay here, ensure your room is not joined with another and be prepared with earplugs!

This is now our go- to Legoland hotel. The suites are spacious, with comfy beds, great ac and nice showers. Our room stepped out into a pool area with a little patio where we could sit with our coffee. The hotel offers a Legoland shuttle. Right next to the hotel is a very nice food hall with a speakeasy vibe. Foods available include pasta, thai, burgers, tacos, pizza, lobster rolls, ice cream, dim sum, sushi, donuts, salads… there’s something for everyone, including coffee and breakfast.

Our stay was nice and the room had been renovated. The lighted mirror was amazing! However, the sliding door to our room was impossible to slide open. I had to use all my strength to open and shut it and the screen door was broken. The towels both at the pool and in the room but especially the pool towels smelled awful! The best way to describe it was like that weird smell some things have when you buy them from China. It was bad.

Although the property looks nice from the outside the inside was poorly renovated. Our room had a chemical smell that was nauseousiating. I stayed with my husband and two children(7yo & 1yo) and I had a hard time bathing them. There was not tub in the room so the oldest jumped in the shower and was burnt by the boiling water. We had set it to the coldest temperature (almost off) and the water was still beyond hot. We had just returned from the Legoland waterpark so couldnt skip a shower. There was not way I was going to bath the baby in the shower with that temperature so I had to give her a sponge bath in the sink which only had low pressure cold water. The floors felt sticky, good thing I had socks on, overall I felt guilty for having my children experience that.

You don’t get clean towels or bed made without request. Room was not very clean like previous stays. Was missing shower gel. Staff was excellent as we had to move 3 times. Keys didn’t work, no lights or electricity in 2nd room. 3rd room was okay but not very clean at all. Definitely saw a difference from previous stays. This was stay4.

The staff was quick and friendly when we informed them our initial room was not cleaned. They nicely upgraded us to a pool view room which was very very clean. Staff was super friendly and the drivers to/from Lego land were great drivers and super friendly. We will definitely want to come back again and stay at the Carlsbad by the sea.

We stayed there a week and throughly enjoyed our stay there. Easy access to an outlet mall and a great seafood restaurant. They have coffee pots in their lobby plus room has a small Kerig. They don’t do room tidying at all unless you request it. Plus they have small plastic bottled shampoo etc only enough for one day stay so had to go down to lobby and get enough for our week stay. Would recommend to them to put in the shower the large bottles in the dispensers which most places have and saves on plastic usage Very friendly staff especially Lisa on the lobby. Great for families and also couples. We shall stay there again on our next visit

Great to stay at while you’re visiting Legoland. They provide a free shuttle so no need to pay the $35 parking fee. Short six minute drive to a beautiful beach area where my kids loved floating in the tides. Delicious bagel shop across the street. Literally right next to a food court and shopping mall area. Check in was quick and coffee is provided in the lobby as well as your room. The view from the balconies into the pool area was very nice but looking out from the door that you enter is a hard filled with industrial trash bins and waste. Especially from the second floor. Which is where they book you when you book from Expedia. The rooms were clean, the employees were wonderful but beds were extra firm, which were a little hard to get comfortable on. However, the pool and hot tub outside were wonderful to relax in. Just don’t look at the grass at night. It crawls with insects. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived on a Monday and were not able to check in until 2 hours after check-in. We were put in the “newly renovated” building. We had 2 rooms, neither had working air conditioning, both were supposed to have a refrigerator and one did not. One room the handle on the slidi g glass door fell off. The sink in one room only had scalding hot water. We asked for new rooms and were told they didn’t have any that were clean. We were not told that there was not daily housekeeping and when we asked for new towels we were told they didn’t have any. We had to use the pool towels. We were told we could leave if we didn’t like the rooms but wouldn’t get a refund as the last day to cancel the reservation was the day before check-in. I would not recommend staying there.

Initially there was a mix up with our room. Booked a King room but was given a 2 Queen room. Front desk was accommodating by assigning our room to be close to wedding venue for the wedding we were attending. The only negative was a foul smell outside our door. Room was clean. Service was efficient. Pool was heated.

We booked this trip through Hotels.com for a birthday get away. The room was fine, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable, squeaking at every movement we made. The worst part is that they were doing interior construction on the rooms below us and next to us starting at 8:00 in the morning. When we talked to the front desk about how disturbing that was (we were really excited about a chance to sleep in), their response was that we booked through a 3rd party and it was the responsibility of the booking party to inform us of the construction. No "I'm sorry for the inconvenince." or "Let me see if I can move you to another room." My wife and I felt like we were completely blown off. And I did check the hotel's website, there was NO mention of ongoing construction. The website promises "During your stay at the hotel, you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere..." There is nothing tranquil about construction in the room right next to you at 8:00 a.m. I would never go back to this hotel.

Visited family in Oceanside for our nephews high school graduation. We wanted to be close to the beach. This hotel was perfect. So close to everything. Stores, restaurants, and most importantly the beach. Very friendly staff. If you want your room cleaned every day they will, but we Were there three nights and just asked for clean towels and coffee and they gave it to us no problem. This is our new place when we visit this area. We overlooked the courtyard from our balcony and it was nice sitting out there having coffee in the morning.

Right across the street from the outlets and the flower fields. A lot of choices around for eating, from fast food to seafood. We enjoy the Windmill food court which is on the same property.... You can get some drinks and everything we've tried has been pretty good, a little pricey but nice atmosphere and good quality food. Quick drive to the ocean.

The hotel had very nice, what looked like to be newly renovated rooms (or at least the one I was in was). The location in Carlsbad was excellent, lots of good restaurants and a nice mall across the street, and its near the flower fields.

The room was very cold the entire time even when I turned the temperature up it was freezing the entire time. Very uncomfortable temperature to be in while sleeping I really didn’t sleep the first night because I could not get comfortable. I slept great the 2nd night only due to exhaustion from the heat! They used to offer a voucher for a meal now they offer nothing and the coffee is horrible!! There is much better places for much less in the area I do not recommended this place at all

This is a wonderful and affordable hotel near the beach. I have been there many times and 2 times since becoming a Marriott. The pool area is lovely with the most comfortable lounge chairs. Great staff.

I had a great stay! The property was very clean, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect; we parked the car and were able to walk everywhere.
