The property was surrounded by vagrants. The room choices was limited, no elevator on the property, and the room mattress was terrible and dirty and their room smelled. I canceled my stay and I went across the street to the holiday inn!

Exterior of the property looks kind of clean, inside the room it looked well worn, flat pillows, i guess clean beds, old falling apart curtains, covered up wall dings not painted over well. Floor looked ok, not filthy but not very clean either. Beds not very comfortable, pillows were kind of work and not comfortable. It is a Motel after all. You would think the bedding would be better though Good, the washer and dryer works and was a good to have, system they have for paying electronically works fine, i never had an issue with it. Hotel price was the reason I went. Swift check in and check out. I would still stay here if the price was right and because of the location in Carlsbad. Not bad for a quick stop. I stayed there 2 days but I wouldn't want to stay here for say a week because of the bed situation.

Very easy and quick check in. Parking limited first come first serve type thing , no parking on the street. Didn’t use the pool but looked accessible and clean. Room was as good as a motel 6 room can get working tv which is a plus. No complimentary soaps ? And to get them from snack/store center $6!!! For a very very tiny bottle Other then very minimal things pleasant stay decent area would definitely stay here again.

I really liked how there was overnight security. The Motel is in a nice area but having that sense of security made it even more comfortable. The only thing I didnt like was that the dog areas weren't picked up . Dog owners should be held responsible for their dog feces. In the room , we needed more than 2 towels, especially when they dont dry over night due to the humidity there. Other than that it was great .

This motel is nestled between some very nice motels. The pic of the office is not accurate at all. There were CASH ONLY paper signs throughout the tiny check in lobby, Very long lines in the office of customers waiting to get towels, and toilet paper. Our customers room key had to be redone several times during our stay. It seemed more like a residential motel. Many rooms had chairs outside the door and many people hanging out with their door open. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving any valuables in the room. I would not stay here again.

The pool had worms, sheets where dirty, there was a dead rat by the parking stalls. A guy knock at my door aroun 1:00 a.m. I didn't feel safe. I would not stay there, you get what you pay for.

Room from the beginning was dirty and noticed from the a/c vent liquid was dripping and mold all our it on the ceiling. I went to the office to cancel. The person in the front desk told me he didn't have the power to do so, and to come back the next morning at 9am. Went back and there was some one else in the front desk, she told the previous person could've done the cancelation the night before, unfortunately since I had stayed forcefully I had to pay for the night. Still couldn't talk to a manager for the reasons that nobody knew what time that person came in.

My stay at Motel 6 (Room 121) was extremely disappointing. The towels appeared dirty and not properly cleaned. Basic amenities were lacking - only a bar of soap provided with no shampoo, lotion, or body wash. Most concerning were the roaches I found in the room. The constant noise made it impossible to sleep, and the bed quality was poor. This location is definitely not suitable for families. Would give 0 stars if possible. Look elsewhere for your accommodation needs.

I get it. It’s just a motel, not a hotel, but does that mean it needs to be dirty? We found dirty socks underneath the bed hair in the bathroom on the walls and in the corners it’s almost like they didn’t clean it at all.

Outside, the property looks nice. However, when you get inside, it smells a slight scent of urine by the bedside near AC. Under the blanket, you'll feel itchy. Removing the top blanket, we saw some long hair strands. On our day of check out, while packing up our clothes, a cockroach crawled inside my backpack! It took awhile to find it. Had to spray disinfectant in my backpack and when it crawled out, I was able to kill it. Unfortunately, I have to leave my luggage at the back of my trunk when I return home. It's been a week now, and it's still in my trunk. Worried that there might be more cockroaches crawled in my luggage. I want to be sure it never gets inside my house. I'm glad we only stayed one night there. The vicinity of the property was very nice. Near the beach and restaurants. Polite and friendly staff too! So, word of caution, make sure you bring disinfectant and spray the room when you move in.

I have been staying at this hotel for 20 years. In the last few years it has declined seriously. This past stay (July 2024) was unacceptable. The room smelled bad--like smoke or something. The floors were not swept; there were visible hairs on the floor around the room. The toilet clogged at one point during my stay. Staff offered me a plunger, which I declined as it is not my job to fix the toilet during a hotel stay. Finally, there were cockroaches on the floor every day of my stay. This seems like a Health Department violation.

Disappointing Stay I stayed at this hotel recently, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. The room was extremely small, with hardly any closet space. The beds were very hard and lumpy, making it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. Additionally, there was a faint odor in the room that I had to keep spraying Lysol to manage. With four people in the room, we had very little space to move around. It felt cramped, and we were basically on top of each other the entire time. To make matters worse, shortly after checking in, we discovered three bugs in the room. Two were likely water bugs, but one was a larger bug that was in the sink. We turned on the hot water, and it eventually went down the drain. I went to the front desk to ask if they had a known bug issue, and all I got was a "What room are you in?"—no apology, no offer for a new room, an upgrade, nothing. I was really disappointed with the lack of customer service and cleanliness. Despite the neighborhood seeming nice, I would never return to this hotel.

The AC was down go the entire building. 85+ degrees in the room. Girl at the front desk said sorry. The next morning another girl said sorry she couldn’t do anything. I’ll be disputing it. Didn’t even sleep in the room.

Took way too long to check in. Gave me a room without fridge when I reserved one with one. Took two hours for them to bring in a fridge, leaving cold food I had brought to warm. Each night the AC, without any input from me, turned into heat and made the room into a sauna. The shower floor was filthy/damaged. The room floors were not clean. The bed was uneven with its springs. Overall a poor experience. Let management know about the AC/heat after the first night: they played dumb and dismissed it. When it happened the second night, I cancelled the final night and went elsewhere.

AC did not work for multiple days. Front office lied about it being fixed. Worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The “queen size” beds are double beds, which are two sizes smaller. Spend more and take your business somewhere else.

Unfortunately my experience at this property wasn’t great. When checking in their key scanner did not work so they had to manually let me in the room and instructed me to just leave the door propped open if I needed to leave the room for a while. Obviously when leaving for a half hour I wasn’t going to leave the door propped open and risk having my belongings stolen from my room. When returning and asking to be let back into my room I was questioned on why I wouldn’t just leave it propped open. This just made me sort of uncomfortable. As a solo female traveler, I feel like it is a bare minimum ask to have a secure room. In addition, the shower had mold and the bed was easily one of the most uncomfortable, worn out beds I’ve ever experienced. I’d just recommend looking elsewhere if possible

Employees were nice but problem was I never had a Key for my room since their machine was broken. I had to wait for them to open for me every single day! And sometimes they were busy with other customers, I had to wait so it was not a good experience. I also wanted to stay an additional 2 days and was not offered any discount for the inconvenience or for booking multiple days already. I don’t know but not having a key to my room is reason for some sort of compensation don’t you think ? I don’t think I’ll be returning here to be honest, I wish they would have at least giving me a discount or something.

The customer service is superb I was greeted by Gabby and immediately felt a great vibe, she was welcoming and very informative! Kiki always greets us with a big smile and always very hospitable! Corrine was quite helpful when we extended our stay and helped make the process smooth and easy! I highly recommend staying at this location for the staff alone they’re all amazing :)

Even though the rooms are just average at best, you have many options for restaurants, grocery shopping, and close proximity to the beach. It’s quite safe around there, but you do hear some of the freeway traffic. Overall though, I’d recommend this place if you need a comfy bed and good options for food.

Though the location is great, the hotel is run down and in need of remodeling. We killed a couple of roaches in the bathroom. The food vending machine is extremely expensive! An individual pizza for $10.99 is outrageous!! Needless to say we just went down the street to Ralph’s an purchased food.

Thanks Motel 6 Beach for a great stay! What more could somebody want? Chick fil A & In & Out Burgers up the street, Benihana next door and one of the best Ralph’s grocery store just down the street. Did I mention how close the beach is! This place has food galore with a microwave and a plethora of drinks in the ice room. Brand new washers & dryers that are large tub front loaders. The staff is the best! Especially the gentleman that just got the new SUV! He deserves a raise!

When asking for shampoo were out out of coffee . The person behind the desk didn’t even acknowledge me when I went in for coffee he was to busy in his phone he did look up and say no coffee ran out of filters. The tub was worn out on bottom. The most rundown Motel 6 I’ve ever seen. Bugs in the room when I turn the lights on at night. Staff said I had to pay early check-in fee of $20 when I was 40 minutes before check in time.Not even a mini fridge or microwave available. The sign says no coffee in the office on empty coffee dispenser.

They do no room service so our trash wasn’t taken out for the 3 days we were there. We had to ask the maids for soap as none was in our room. The website said they had breakfast but they only have coffee and tea. It wasn’t horrible the worst ever but I wouldn’t say it was great.

This hotel was great, and it all started with the truly amazing staff. They were all super friendly and helpful. We got a really spacious two bed room right next to the pool, just like we asked. The pool was huge and warm and my 7 year old and I loved it. Only negative, we had to pay extra for a fridge and microwave - uncool.
