We were located next to the mechanical room and it was very noisy. We complained but they had no real solution. The second night they brought up earplugs. The hotel was very dated but clean. The problem was we entered at street level and had to go up one flight of stairs...ok but to go out the back it was three flights down to pool. We did however have a gorgeous view. The staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable.

Wow, where do i begin? First of all, if you have any mobilityvissues, this is not the place for you. Too many stairs and no elevator. Room furnishings looked like they were bought at a garage sale. Room had minimal amenities...no place to lay suitcases. Bathroom counter was taken up with a microwave. The "continental breakfast" was spartan at best and had to be carried back to the room where there was barely any space to sit down to eat. The place definitely needs a facelift. There's quaint and then there's old. This was not quaint.

Staff at check-in was very courteous and welcoming. It's a cute looking hotel (unfortunately it is being replaced with a newer, but blah hotel). There is a heated pool and dry sauna available for guests. Room was clean and comfortable.

For a pet-friendly ‘motel’ it was fine for the 2 nites we stayed. The property needs a fresh coat of paint and pretty much everything except for the mattresses was very dated. There was NO flexibility w a 1-hour late checkout on Sunday because they are short staffed in the housekeeping dept. when we did checkout, however, I counted at least 5-6 housekeepers which appeared to be a very good number considering it’s a small motel. There is NO gym but the pool was clean and very nice. And the continental bfast was decent.

We brought 2 corgis. The room was sorry free with all hard floors. Best part was the balcony with seating and Dutch doors and a bonus ocean view I did not pay for. Kept the door open all night - no mosquitoes and you could hear the surf. An older hotel but cute and budget. Had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. It was an ADA room .we will stay there again.

The facility is very dated, pet stains on the carpet, a small TV that seemed like the brightness was turned down and no way to adjust, hot and cold water for the shower reversed, a generator type buzzing that never stopped even at night that kept us up and a disappointing “breakfast” that was a few muffins and fruit. Staff was all very nice and the location is great but that won’t get us back…

Very dated and unclean. For as much as they charge and the location (downtown Carmel), they need to update the rooms and clean the place up. The rooms were overall not very clean and all the sheets were super old and didn’t look very nice.

The hotel was very nice with very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. I was impressed with some nice touches in the room such as the coffee provided and wine glasses. The main negatives were that the water pressure in the shower was so low and the shower head was awful, so it was basically a mist, not a way to wash yourself, the bed was very soft and uneven, and the tv remote did not fully work. Overall though, I would recommend to a friend. The vibe was great.

This was an amazing stay, the hotel is very aesthetic and makes you feel welcome. The room was small but incredibly cozy and the bathroom was very large to my surprise. I loved the pink Dutch doors and floral patterns in the room. There is nothing like staying in a cute place like this though it was pricey. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. I had a hard time getting reception but there is wifi, though I didn't get the chance to use the heated pool or complimentary breakfast I'm sure it would've been lovely.

The front staff person (Guadalupe) was sweet and very helpful. We first had a loud TV next door, kept on to keep the left-alone dog company. The TV sound was coming right through the adjoining door between the two units. Guadalupe moved us to a much more quiet room, and it was great. The ocean view is great. The room was very big (deluxe king), clean and comfortable. Fools that we are, we came here during the height of school's-out tourist season. The kids at the pool were loud and obnoxious, but that's not the hotel's fault. I also like that the hotel is far from the main part of town, which can get pretty crazy in summer. High recommendation.

The agent who check me in that night forgot the roll away bed that I requested, I been waiting in the room and finally my son come to the office and the office was closed. My room is exactly next to the office. I guess he was in a rush to go home. The lady in the Am shift make sure I did not get charge for the rollaway bed. Breakfast could be better for the price you pay.

The best parts of Hofsas House were their people and their location. Everyone we dealt with from the owner to the housekeepers was as nice as possible, and the many restaurants, shops, and galleries in Carmel were walkable from the hotel.

Never moved our car after arrival since the main street, Ocean Blvd, was 3-4 blocks away, & lots of unique shops & eateries all around, & Ocean goes straight down a slight hill to Carmel Beach. Had a great 2 nights. Definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing 2 night stay at the Hofsas House Hotel! Very clean, large room. The kitchenette was a plus! Close to everything in Carmel. We walked everywhere and did not have to use our car in the three days we were there. Would definitely return to the Hofsas House.

Hofsas House is the best value for your buck. They have a great continental breakfast with wonderful pastries, yogurts, fruit, OJ, etc., the staff is very friendly, they hotel is in a great location and very clean.
