We live in San Diego. It's only an hour from the hotel. I had to go to Irvine. My daughters love swimming pools. But they couldn't swim because the jacuzzi didn't work in this cold weather. I made the wrong choice about why I went to the hotel. The hotel was pretty, clean, and I liked it. But if you're going to use the pool, don't go.

The hotel offered a mixed experience. On the positive side, the rooms were impressively spacious and clean, and the staff was both polite and courteous. However, the main building and lobby are outdated and feel old. A notable disappointment was the pool, which was much smaller than the pictures on the website led us to believe. It is a cute hotel well located in the artsy district. The valets could not have been any nicer. It is pricey to park but since no self-parking spots were open, we had to valet, and it turns out it was only $3 more, and they were by far the nicest staff on the property! I liked the early morning dip in the hot tub and pool the birds/geese around the back. We enjoyed our outdoor dinner at the restaurant too.

The valet guys were welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean, we liked the snacks and drinks in the room. The silver trumpet restaurant was very convenient to get dessert after dinner at South Coast Plaza. Overall it was a pleasant stay and gorgeous grounds!

Ground were very pretty, the views and water. I hotel is older so the rooms have been update but you can tell it’s still older. Very humid and had to ask for a fan. The AC didn’t work great definitely an older unit. It was an okay stay I definitely expected more . The staff and service was amazing I will give them that. Everyone was more than helpful and very friendly and professional.

The property is wonderful. The WiFi and TV were awful. I don’t care all that much about the tv, but getting work done was extremely difficult because the internet was so slow and constantly dropping. Even though I enjoyed everything else, I’m not sure if I would stay there again due to the issues with the WiFi.

Great location. Very convenient for both shopping and restaurant options. The staff was very approachable and helpful during the entire stay. i was disappointed with the room amenties. The shower was located in the bathtub and water pressure was weak. The described "city view" was actually a view of the roof over the entrance of the hotel.

This would’ve been the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel. Everything was fine. Even the check-in was great. However the next morning early the noise outside of the machine pump in the lake was absolutely over the top the loudest and the most annoying thing I’ve ever been through at staying at any hotel unfortunately it ruined my stay and I cannot recommend this Hotel as the front desk should’ve been more aware that this would’ve been a problem as my room was directly in front of the pump.

At check in we were given a room that was already occupied. We even keyed into the room and 2 people were in the room. We went back to the front desk and were given another room immediately. Much appreciate and handled properly. One of the elevators was very loud when reaching the 5th and 6th floors. The area around the hotel was clean, felt safe, and lots of restaurant choices. Very convenient to the arts center where our event was.

This is a stunning hotel. The decor is modern and clean, and the front desk service is impeccable. We arrived hours ahead of check-in time due to unforeseen changes in our travel schedule. We asked the front desk if they could hold our luggage until check in, and they did us one better (much better) and instead, they checked us into our room hours early. We will never even consider another hotel in the area after our experience here. They've made us loyal repeat customers. Thank you!

The grounds are very nice, while the hotel itself is showing its age a bit. It is clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. Having stayed previously, we were surprised with an ongoing billing issue. After authorizing the usual amount for a 2-day stay and incidentals upon check-in, an attempt was made to charge our card again just hours later at about 1:00 AM. The amount was interestingly equal to the entire stay (the previous authorization remained). This was then attempted again later in the morning, so 1 authorization equal to the full stay and incidentals and 2 more attempted charges (these raised a flag with Amex) in less than 24 hours, each being equal to what the entire bill would be at check-out. While pleasant, the staff at the front desk could not explain this. On the day of our checkout they tried to make 3 more charges within a few hours of each other. After a few days Amex hashed things out, and the actual charge (authorization released) was as expected. I don’t know what was going on, but those attempted charges would have been 3X what the invoice was for our stay. We used the same card with a longer stay previously and never had these issues.

It’s hard to find such good service lately. The afternoon and evening staff for phenomenal. They made us feel so taken care and went above and beyond. I hope they know how awesome they are. All the staff was wonderful including the cleaning ladies

Personally, I love this hotel, since it is very quiet and accessible to several places, Newport is relatively close, as is the shopping center and several restaurants, it is in very good location. The only detail is that on this trip they gave us a shared room, and in the other room there was a couple with children who were screaming a lot and it seemed that the we had in our room, but I recognize that this is not a problem of the hotel, but of the parents who do not educate their children to make them understand that they are not in an amusement park but rather in a hotel where people need to rest. But the hotel itself and its staff are exceptional.

Great hotel ... very professional staff, very quiet, relaxing and close to major highways and the airport but in a very safe and private area. Room was great, especially the view to the lake. Gated enclosure around the entire lake made for a very enjoyable walk ... landscaping was like a breath of fresh air. We will definitely return to the "Avenue" next time that we are in the Costa Mesa area.

We've been to LA before, and this was undoubtedly our best stay. We didn't want to stay near the tourist areas, as we already knew the attractions. This hotel is close to a large shopping mall and excellent restaurants, as well as very close to LA's best beaches, such as Huntington Beach, Corona Beach, and others. However, you'll need a car to get around, otherwise I don't recommend it. The hotel offers excellent value; the only thing it could do is include breakfast in the daily rate.

Very nice hotel in close proximity to the arts district, shopping, and good dining within walking distance. There is a small lake and courtyard area behind the property that offers a scenic view and nice trail for walking. Would definitely stay here again!
