First off our room was dirty windows very bad black crap between the windows and on the window seals . Our bathroom had drips of something all down the front of the sinks, pictures in the room had marks on them where stuff was spilled down the front of them. Bath tub stopper broke they did replace that. The room was run down old. The spa was old and needed to be re plastered real bad. No air on in the hallways smelled musty and hot. The stairs leading out to the parking lot where filthy dirty. Beds where Lumpy. Our air conditioning broke they did come and fix it seems like they only keep the lobby and restaurants clean. The menu had only 6 choices on it nothing I would eat. Old coffee maker in The room not k cup like people use now a days. No microwave . We stayed two nights because we went to he horse races good location and free shuttle to the races and back. We won’t be returning not at the price we paid. I went to the front desk showed them pictures of my room that was not clean they said they will have someone deep clean the room. Maid tried to clean it but couldn’t get it clean at least she tried. The place like the guy said at the front desk it’s 40 years old. Think they need to go in and re do the rooms for the price 2 nights came to $900.00. I expected better. The valet was great nice people and quick. People at the front desk were very nice also.

Beautiful place but elevators are few and far between! It would have been nice to have been told elevator locations at check in. Basically handed a key and told to park on opposite side of the building.

Convenient hotel, although it is definitely in need of a remodel. Our room smelled of mold (from the HVAC / AC vents). It took some time and rigmarole to get it replaced (who knows when it was last updated or changed). Replacing the filters, etc. solved the problem immediately. I have stayed here for 4 years in a row now for a yearly event, but will probably stay at a different hotel next year. It's a nice hotel with a lot of amenities, but it's overdue for a real make-over. Also, every year, for the past four years, the spa seems to be 'under repair'...ridiculous. Staff was nice and friendly, so no fault to them.

The hotel is located across the road from the fairgrounds and near many attractions. Easy on and off I-5. Our room was spacious and nicely appointed. Strangely though it was located as far from the elevator as possible for a hotel that was far from full. Also, there is a stiff $30/day charge for self parking ($35 for valet) that is not disclosed in the online description.

The room was very comfortable (bed, armchair), condition is fair, color scheme (grey/white) kind of depressed looking. Pool very nice and outdoor sitting areas with fire pits nice for relaxing. Self-parking and food expensive. Breakfast buffet $30/ per person was just average.

My family of 3 stayed overnight for an event at the Del Mar fairgrounds. I called before we checked in and the front desk staff was friendly and answered all my questions. They were informative and helpful upon check in. The room was cozy and clean. The pool area was very nice, provided towels, had plenty of chairs, and beautiful fire lit lounge areas at night. We were able to walk to get dinner, and walk to the event, which was a huge plus. Check out was simple. We will definitely stay here again for our next event in Del Mar.

Got a room here to head to Del Mar for the races. Loved that they have a shuttle to take you over. Property was nice, but def a little pricey for what it is. Location dictates price on this for sure! But the patio atmosphere was great! Firepits, live music. Was fun

Trip was decent this hotel was nice on the inside but clenliness of the room could’ve been better found 2 dirty pillows during my 2 night stay. Also breakfast isn’t free b ur a $25 per person charge for the same breakfast other hiltons serve for free. Also parking was $33 a night for a guest. Being a Hilton honors member didn’t bring the price down at all. Not a hotel we have to revisit but decent for the stay

Once we checked in our room, we found one big fly and a lot of fruit flies in our room. The fruit flies were even on the towels.it was very disgusting. The shower door can not be closed either. Fortunately I contacted the front desk and we were switched to a similar room but with much better conditions. At the end, we were satisfied but it was horrible when we first checked into our room.

Overall, our stay was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and clean. The only thing to note was that the "coffee bar" was not open/available most of the time we were there. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

I read the reviews prior to coming, but didn’t encounter any of the negative I read about it. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the grounds were lovely. I’m not sure where I missed the extra charge for parking, but other than that it was a good value. I would stay here again

Our room was very dated with a very noisy air conditioning unit which prevented a restful night’s sleep. Upon arrival we noticed our carpet was wet from possible shampoo cleaning. Bathroom condition, including shower tiles, grout and flooring were damaged and moldy. Requested room cleaning on the second day never arrived. Overall we did not feel this Hilton location met their usual organization and standards.

It was nice being conviently a cross from the fair grounds/ race track. Our room has a leak by the door and the walls were thin to where we could hear our neighbors. Great staff and overall a decent stay.

Great location right off of I-5 freeway and massive property with pool and patio. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant pricey but we found plenty of dining options within 10 minutes. Walls are thin, recommend getting a room not along the freeway. Quiet time at 9 is enforced which we liked since the walls are so thin. Property shows some wear but overall good price point with what you get.

This is an older hotel that was once very elegant and it has retained much of that appeal and charm but it could use a really deep makeover. On the other hand it was a great big room, quiet with comfy couch and bed at a good price. We would definitely stay there again.

Needs a major remodel. Old windows & a dated interior. $33 a night for self park. Very loud soccer team- (parents were drunk off their butts in the lobby at 11pm Sunday night- yelling). I felt bad for the people working there, but they didn’t tell them to leave the lobby area. Nice employees, convenient location & a decent price for SD. Other than that, would not stay again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, service requests easily made through text if preferred, valet cost was very reasonable. The hotel is clean and has a lovely pool. Food services availabikity was limited and the wi-fi was terrible, which is my one true complaint. Compared to other hotels of the same quality, it was very reasonably priced. I'd return if I didnt have to work remotely.

It’s an odd place. Very nice building and grounds. Room was nice but it’s odd the tv has no guide so you just scroll to find what they have. No ability to stream to your own accounts. No room service. You can order in the bar and take what ever you order to your room in a pizza box. The comparison of the setting and the poor services is just odd. Maybe they don’t have to work very hard being across the street from the Del Mar track and grounds. Such small steps would make them nearly worth the over priced room and related costs.

Check in was smooth and the staff was very friendly. I’ve stayed here 3 years straight for a Soccer Tournament. There maybe different faces, but the Customer Service given is the best. The Valet was AWESOME as well. See you next year.

Staff is undertrained. They didnt program the keycard correctly, twice. I asked nicely if I could eat a deli sandwich i had with me given my family would buy dinner and drinks. The manager, Daniel, came out and said "thats a hard no.". Not even "sorry we are not allowed", just in a blunt and rude way. The beds and sheets ans towels are all good but the Hilton name used to mean something and it doesnt anymore. Chains like Loews kick Hiltons behind in service and training.

Checked in on Saturday evening around 7pm, valet attendants were very friendly. Front desk said they’d bring a microwave to my room upon my request, I gave permission to put it in the room as I was going out. Went back - no microwave. Called front desk Sunday morning around 10:30, received an apology and said one would be sent. Went out for afternoon, came back around 4 - no microwave. Tried to call front desk- many rings before picked up the phone, when answered- put on long hold. I hung up- called again, rude woman, said hold and just clicked the phone. Very disappointed in this service -

Stayed at this Hilton for a short visit to SD. The property was clean and well managed. There was lots of parking and was a decent drive from many San Diego attractions. For the price and location, I would stay here again if you don't mind driving a little.

The hotel has no room service after 12 midnight. Had a long drive and an event that they served only meat. I don't eat meat so left to be hungry all night. Next day went to the hotel/bar/restaurant. Food quality was terrible. Ordered a Pene Pesto with chicken there was hardly any basil or pinenuts in the pesto. Terrible! Food quality and selection poor.

Was not worth the money from what i would expect at that level. Time for an upgrade in the rooms. No housekeeping services for a three night stay. Bathtub did not drain well. AC was not consistent. Iron was broken. Smelled weird. Food was not great. Breakfast service was slow and buffet at $25 is overpriced.

This is a quality property in a good location. There were plenty of dining options within one mile but we ended up eating most of our meals in the courtyard. The restaurant in the hotel had a great menu, servings were huge and service was wonderful ... and we were able to meet other hotel guests which was a pleasant bonus.
