Motel 6-Fountain Valley, CA - Huntington Beach Area

The room was clean. Just a typical Motel 6. The pictures showed a pool. No pool! They filled the pool with dirt and made a dog park. We stayed in a no smoking room, but the elevator smelled awful! The front desk girls were very friendly. Unfortunately, we won’t stay here again.

Very Loud Freeway noise all night. Parking lot is small.

Great place to stay with dogs. They have converted the swimming pool area into a potty place for pets and have baggy stations. The hotel is located next to a roller rink which plays loud music, but I couldn't hear anything inside my room itself despite being close to the building. Plus, it looks like a great way to have fun.

I stay at this Motel 6 every time I come to this area. It is central to every place I need to go during my visits and there are lots of restaurants and stores close by. The maids come every day, which is annoying, but at least there are always fresh towels and other supplies. I love the suites, which always include a refrigerator and microwave. The freeway is very noisy, but I lived along this same freeway for many years, so the noise doesn’t bother me too much. Since the last time I visited, they filled in the pool and put in a fenced pet area. This is either good or bad, depending on what you prefer. I’ll stay here again.

Disappointed that they only allow one car for parking and make you park on the street - down the street. Customer service talks to you like he’s reading from a book. Not very friendly.

I needed a last minute stay on my drive at the point of getting tired but still being close to the beach. The price was amazing I have my dog and we both slept through the night. There’s a little fenced dog space he used immediately. The sound of the freeway was right outside but I like the sound. It might bother someone else. The area feels business park and the guests even have clean cars. I’d stay again. There are other options but for a bed and a shower and even two TVs with a separate living space, this was great.

Stay here while working the county fair. The room was great as always. Just a few minor problems 1 The shower (the tub knob that changes to shower sticks and you get less water from the shower and its slow on warming up. 2 Truck parking blocking you in. The corner by the pet area has a small problem if you get there early, sometimes a truck will end up blocking you in (not enough room to get out). Need to have trucks park down a little farther down away from blocking people in. 3 I love that the old skate rink (next door) is doing so great but the cars doing donuts in the circle is dangerous. After a number of calls, the next night there were 5 patrol cars out there just to make sure it didn't happen again after midnight. (Thank You FVPD). 4 FYI: The motel does sit against the freeway and its can be loud with the traffic (ear plugs are provided) but I found that the light come from the window shades, so I bring a sleep mask with me, I get the best night sleep. 5 The staff is the best, thank them when you stay.

You just get what you pay for. Nothing more, nothing less, except for the packed parking at night where you have to park on a nearby establishment and wake up early to transfer it back.

The entire property smells very clean and well kept. I was pleasently surprised the dog park didn't smell like dog pee. Pets stay for free . No coffee maker in the room however they have a big one in the office.

Even though I reserved a nonsmoking room, it had a weird smell like they added too much bleach to mask smoke odor. The floor was sticky and slippery, it wasn’t clean correctly.

Room was clean and fresh! Appeared that staff were always moving around the area, cleaning, changing bedding and general clean up. Staff were very helpful, kept our luggage for us as we arrived early. The lady at the desk was professional, friendly and a great help. We had a wonderful stay!!

It was the cleanest Motel 6 I’ve ever seen. I would definitely recommend it to others.

This was a pleasant surprise!! I was worried that because of the price, the room would be disgusting. On the contrary. The floors are laminate so easy cleaning from pets. The bedding is not 300 thread count but I also didn’t pay luxury pricing for the room. There is a microwave, freezer and refrigerator in the room which was super handy for my daughter and me. The area around the hotel is freeway and shops, but the hotel is well lit and I felt very safe. Again, for the money, this was a pleasant surprise.

This place is the cleanest place I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at many motels in Orange County CA and they are filthy, have bedbugs, and not pet friendly. I highly recommend this motel 6 location.

No complaints. I’m a self sufficient traveler. I pack a little more than the bare minimum. A “what if” packer. What if I need this or that. The motel as few amenities but that cleaver design keeps the price per night manageable. I appreciate that. The whole property staff is delightful. Polite & hospitable. The rooms are super clean. The windows open all the way fresh air is a plus. It’s pretty quiet. I like that too. Beds are memory foam. Shower water pressure is fantastic . Room comes with a 4foot refrigerator with real freezer and microwave. That’s vers nice. I like it and C I’ll be back .

Room is clean but not soundproof and right next to a busy freeway. They do five earplugs however it only did so much.

Right next to the freeway. Did not sleep well. Did not like the foam beds either.

Clean room, big and comfortable.

I didn’t get any sleep due to the noises traffic out side the bedroom window! It was like the window was open and the earplugs they set out for you did not help and they hurt my ears after awhile!

I stay weekly here due to work. I stayed at two other local locations of Motel 6 and they’re ok. But not as clean, managed, overall less favorable than FV location. I’m again regular due to my hybrid work schedule and live 250 away. Only time I don’t stay at FV Motel 6 is when the price is significantly more than the two other locations nearby. One of the other locations is very rough area with homeless encampments nearby. This location is great. Safe clean very dog friendly. Basically feels like a secondary home. Stafff is very pleasant and very accommodating. This location has a requirement of cleaning the rooms daily. This is great as it keeps the questionable away. Other local locations do not clean daily and it shows. Questionable people are much more common. Fountain Valley Motel 6 is great.

The room was very clean and tidy and check-in was a breeze. The handle on the toilet broke the first night, but was fixed by the cleaning staff the next morning before we had a chance to report it. The only downside was that the 405 is approximately 8 feet from the window and was rather noisy. The motel does provide earplugs.

The bathroom door had a big piece almost broken off on the bottom and it wouldn't close Right next to a skating center. No in room coffee. Right next to a major freeway. They do provide ear plugs. Tommy Burgers snd Starbucks are close by.No shampoo or conditioner. Small bath towels..

Front Desk ladies are always friendly greeting great customer service

PLEASE be aware that this motel sits right next to the highway. You can hear semi trucks so loud it's as if they were right next to you-- because they are. My fiancé and I are both heavy sleepers and got absolutely no sleep in this room due to the constant noise. We also requested a room change 3 times and each time were told to "come back at a different time". The staff were dishonest and unwilling to help. You'd be better off paying the same amount for a much quieter stay anywhere else.

Terrible experience. Maid came in two days in a row without knocking. Didn't offer to leave the room. Air conditioner didn't work. Internet service was not good. Had to park off the property. Some noise outside. Refused to refund for future days that were prepaid as I chose to leave early. Stated to Hotel.com that I smoked in non-designated areas, which I didn't. Not a good experience.

The room was fairly clean and the staff we saw seemed fine. The 405 runs 20 feet from the window in the room, it could be closer I did not measure. NO parking to support the number of rooms available and we got the last spot I wonder where everyone parked? Mandatory maid service with a pet, we had a cat we needed to be out of the room between 12 and 1pm, we returned at 1:15 and no one had been there, they showed up about an hour later and wanted us to leave again they cleaned with us and our company in the room. The bad thing is they had 12:00 on the sheet and we could see it. If we not been there 2.5 hours later they would have let out cat out of the room. We do love our pet and would have been devestated.

Worst h/motel staff experience in 50 years, MAJOR red flags. Selected for pet-friendly direct access (75% guests have pets). WARNING: NO privacy/security - mandatory daily cleaning & no "Do Not Disturb"privacy option/sign available. Their excuse: pet policy requires daily room access. Don't leave valuables. Towel theft/deposit scheme: Housekeeping daily removes towels/washcloths, never returns all. Must "barter" at office for replacements - took 2 of each, only returned large towels. Deposit scam: At checkout, delayed 15min room check. Initially denied $50 deposit claiming missing towels (they took them). When reminded, staff "suddenly remembered." Called Housekeeping back for "further checks" - another 15min wait. Finally denied deposit over dime-sized blood spot from dog in heat on their $1 50TC sheet. Other issues: "Free" internet expired after 3 days of 2-week stay. Only English on speaking staff on the property is at front desk. BEWARE! $200/night - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Staff was friendly. Room was good, clean and comfortable. The 405 is right next to it and you will hear that road noise but I slept just fine. Definitely would stay here again

The room was very noisy, but I was appreciative of the location and price point. What was unacceptable is that the hotel mandates—yes, mandates—that housekeeping enter your room every day. While staying there, I was working in my hotel room and on conference calls, when housekeeping tried entering the room at 3pm. (I keep the lock on when I’m in the room as a safety precaution.). When they couldn’t enter, the front office called and called. (I was in conference calls.) when I returned the call to the front desk, they required I leave the room so housekeeping could enter and do service. When I informed them I didn’t need service, they said that I agreed to them entering the room every day when I checked in, and hat I had to leave the room while housekeeping was there. After my calls ended around 4pm, I let housekeeping in to do their service. I got a copy of the terms and conditions at the front desk, and (in very small print), it notes that the hotel WILL enter the room every day, and that the hotel is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MISSING ITEMS. Glad I took my valuables with me when I let housekeeping in… I have never had such an experience, and I intend to tell this story repeatedly until this policy is rectified.

The room is clean. The staff is nice.

Working a 12 hour night shifts during a storm, I decided to get a room so i didn't have to commute home between shifts and wound be able to sleep. However. I was woken up by the maid who said its their policy o enter and clean the room every day. After explaining the situation her she left to discuss with her manager. Only to return and demand to come in to clean. No exceptions. I will never stay there again.

Stayed here the night before a cruise. Location was close to shopping for last minute runs. Location is about 35 minutes from port. Sufficient parking.

Great location for where we needed to be, clean rooms, pet friendly. Only thing that didn't work for me was the noise next to the freeway.

Customer service was not very good. Place was clean and well maintained. Area was very accessible to shops and restaurants.

Staff was very kind, the overall property was clean and had a nice dog area with turf which is a plus to those traveling with their pets! The only negative thing is that since it is next to the freeway it is a bit noisy but that was to be expected.

Not bad, only stayed one night. Rooms are built awkwardly, makes it feel really small. They don’t have shampoo or conditioner which I rarely use but of course, this time I needed and it wasn’t available. Location was good. Close to the highway not far from Huntington beach.

Housekeeping and front desk was kind and spectacular. Good value for the price. Lots of places around to entertain.

This hotel has changed over the years. Overall it’s acceptable and clean. Yet the coffee taste like water. We were told we would be charged for dirty bath mats. I mean if they’re dirty it’s your floor not our clean feet stepping out of the shower. If you tell me this at check in maybe but it’s an after fact. They definitely need a mirror in the room not just the bathroom. It gets foggy and holds others up who need to dress outside of the bathroom. Overall it’s clean enough to repeat a stay at an economical price.
