The hotel is beautiful and overlooks the beautiful Torrey Pines golf course. The staff is very welcoming and the décor is beautiful and well thought out. Know that the resort fees a bit steep and additional to the hotel.com payment and parking is $40/night. If you are prepared for that, there will no worries. The gym facility is very robust and the pool was highly used. As a resort, there are no near by restaurants or shopping areas.

I felt very rushed out of my room in the morning. I only stayed for one night and the maids were knocking on my door from 8:30am until 10:30am when my check out was at 11am. Parking was also ridiculously expensive $47/night and I had already paid a lot for just one night. They also make you use two vouchers for drinks that they charge you for later. For being a nice hotel I thought accommodations such as parking would be included and I felt rushed out.

Love the underground parking with direct access to the Hilton hotel! Room is spacious & clean. The on-site restaurant, Torreyana, was a pleasant surprise with topnotch Cioppino, delicious heirloom tomato salad, perfectly roasted salmon, crisp potato bravas, and a divine custard for dessert. Couldn't believe how delicious everything was from a hotel kitchen! The pool was well appointed with plenty of floaties/noodles and other toys. The jacuzzi has a lovely view of the golf grounds with ocean views on a clear day. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ... we will return!

The location is very far from happening place and need your own car to travel. But the hotel charge $40/day parking which seems to be way too high considering the location. They also charge $35 resort fee but the pool was overcrowded and couldn't even swim there. Fitness is pretty small and don't have much equipments. The property was fairly clean tho.

Great location if you are planning to play golf. Valet parking staff were excellent in customer service. Front desk staff were friendly. Room: shower head with green stuff on it. Walls on the bathroom with pink stuff on it. Rooms are regular. Pool was so cold and not heated and looks really old. Nothing to do inside the hotel.

Beautiful setting and room was on 2nd floor one of the clean air rooms - smelled like sewage when we checked in so I opened the doorwall to air it out and the smell went away. It was clearly coming from the toilet. We overlooked it, kept the doorwall open.

The first room that was assigned rm# 2121 you could not see through the slider. It was hazed to such a degree that was totally opaque. Depressing, especially for the price that was charged for the room. I asked for an immediate room change and was moved to a new room rm # 3108 with a clear window that you could see out of. Why would the hotel have such a low standard w/their room accommodations? Our new room was good and very clean.

The restaurant staff were amazing. The view and pool was spectacular. We had issue with parking card not working we have to constantly call for someone to open the gate. Bathroom sink was not properly cleaned during our arrival , there was some hair and stains, we have to sanitize and clean it ourselves.

The pool area and hot tub are nice. The bed and sheets are super comfy. My bathroom was dirty and the room smelled. The rooms are outdated and need to be upgraded for a high end hotel it needs to be upgraded.

Hotel is old and needs renovation. Bathroom was smelly from old (probably clogged) plumbing. The cleaning lady did great job cleaning it but the smell came back an hour after. The facility is so old no question about that. The elevator situation is frustrating - they have a couple on each side. Staff is very kind and helpful but that doesn’t make up for the condition of the hotel.

When I pay a lot of money for a hotel and experience, I REALLY hope it is worth it... this time it was not. The staff was friendly at first, however my card to get in and out of the parking garage never seemed to work and the front desk attendant was not very nice about assisting the evening we got in. The room itself was sooo dark, the lights are so dim you can't start to get really frustrated trying to see anything. The bathroom was pretty gross as well, and just the room in general. There was a half inch thick layer of fuzzy dust collecting in the head board of the bed. The shower had green stuff all over the shower head. It was just not what I was expecting I guess...

The property is very old- the room’s smelled so bad. It had a very bad musky smell- when we flushed the toil there was a very loud gargling sound it was so bad and all night we heard it… the flushing also caused a bad sewer smell to rise. We complained- they told us every room has same problem- some are just worse than others…. It was air in the sewer system- the property is very old. Looks nothing like the pictures you see. Management did nothing to remedy- did not compensate us for anything- just a $30 resort fee… ruined my 4th of July vacation. If you want a motel 6 stay but want to pay Hilton price stay here…

Overall very nice for a Hilton. One issue, I had reserved a terrace room, but none were available when I arrived. They did get me into one for the next two nights and comped the fee for the first night. Very good food and the location cannot be beat.

Rooms were very dated— lots of old, dark brown furniture that was scuffed or chipped. The first floor rooms were dark and cave-like. Beds, however, were very comfortable with nice pillows and linens. When we checked in, we were mistakenly issued the wrong keys. The room was a very long hike to the front desk, and we were a bit disappointed that we had to go back to the front desk for new keys.

Our stay was a mix of positives & frustrations. The room & bathroom were spacious, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course. The view was gorgeous & one of the highlights of our stay. The location was close to everything we needed. However, the room décor was very dated, with dark brown rugs, tan walls, & mismatched furniture that lacked any cohesive design. While the bathroom was clean, it too showed its age. The lighting throughout was very dim, which made it feel darker & more closed-in than it was. We encountered repeated issues with our room keys & parking garage gate access requiring reprogramming at least 5 times causing us to make several trips to the front desk to get things corrected. The front desk staff gave us conflicting information at times & nearly charged us for an additional night for a reservation that we believed had been cancelled. Housekeeping entered the room at 6:21 AM without being requested which was quite disruptive & inappropriate that early in the morning. On the positive side, the food servers were excellent, friendly, efficient & the food itself was very good. The hotel did provide complimentary water bottles & drink vouchers for the lounge, which were appreciated. We encountered repeated issues with our room keys & parking garage gate access requiring reprogramming at least 5 times causing us to make several trips to the front desk to get things corrected. The front desk staff gave us conflicting information at times & nearly charged us for an additional night for a reservation that we believed had been cancelled. Housekeeping entered the room at 6:21 AM without being requested which was quite disruptive & inappropriate that early in the morning. On the positive side, the food servers were excellent, friendly, efficient & the food itself was very good. The hotel did provide complimentary water bottles & drink vouchers for the lounge, which were appreciated. Overall disappointing. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times. We rented two rooms. The first room my friends went to was occupied, and they had to go back and get another room. This seems unimaginable in this day and age with booking a room the dining room was very pathetic and the dinner was terrible Valley service was very good and overall condition of the room was nice. I had a terrace room overlooking the golf course. The terrace itself could use some attention.

Reading all previous comments, the hotel seems to just respond with a standard statement - disappointing. The hotel is great, has fantastic location and the building would allow a first class hotel, however..... 1) The fitness center is average. The usage of the adjacent (very good one) is helpful, but unfortunately with limited opening hours. 3) Room Service: reception told us we had to ask for this day by day. Our kind request to simply list this as default did not work, though repeated twice. Room service lacked attention (e.g. providing water or replacing empty bathroom amenities). 4) Resort fee: with 32$ (now 36 $), this should be more transparent while booking. Recommend to add this rather to the daily rate. It is not comfortable to be surprised by this, while it only provides "usage of the amenities of the hotel". As a worldwide standard, using the features of a hotel of that category should not come "on top". 5) Parking Fee: 40$ as daily fee are quite high for a forced stay in the parking house. There is no way to park anywhere else. 6) Reception: we would recommend to support the staff in professional handling of the number of guests and the type of complaints. Though they did their best, it seems that they lacked experience and professionalism. They of course have to deal with those items we listed under 1 - 5. 7) WIFI: staying with 4 persons, however, the free internet access was limited to 2.

NOT SO GOOD WE CAME TO CHECK IN AT 4PM LIKE THEY SAID ARE ROOM WITH A POOL VIEW WAS NOT READY. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When we informed them that our room hadn’t been cleaned in two days and we had no towels, they showed zero concern or urgency. We were forced to use pool towels from downstairs just to have something in the room. There were numerous hidden fees that were never clearly disclosed. Despite my Expedia receipt stating that the resort fee was already paid, the front desk presented a piece of paper with fine print claiming the “resort fee must be paid at the hotel.” It felt intentionally deceptive. To make matters worse, on the first night of our stay, there was a fire (or possibly just a drill) around 7 or 8 PM. We were told to evacuate, but no one followed up to explain what was happening, how long it would last, or even if it was safe to return. We received no communication from hotel management at all. I had to go to the front desk myself to request a discount on the resort fee and parking due to the disruption and lack of sleep that night—but they still refused to refund the night's stay. This was by far the most disappointing and frustrating “resort” experience we've had. The only positives were that the hotel was clean, seemed safe, and had a decent view—but that’s not nearly enough to make up for the rest.

The location is awesome. The front desk staffing for such a big facility is not adequate. Long lines at check in and check out. Some staff are really friendly and others are really not. Some of the housekeeping staff rudely tell you they dont speak English and walk away from you , when all I did was try to pass on a key I found on the floor, Whereas the supervisors are a lot more friendly. They are unyielding with late checkouts 11:00 AM no exceptions which was unfortunate. I was caddying for my son for the San Diego City Amateur event, we leave the room at 5:00 AM to get ready for a 7:00 AM shotgun ( 6:30 AM in your cart ). I had to leave him mid round at 10:00 AM to go back to the hotel to check out. So when you pay $500 for a room and stay multiple nights you should expect a higher standard of service. We were greeted by a most unpleasant check-in staffer who was rude and dismissive to my 9yo daughter who was excitedly asking about the pool movie night for that evening. We arrived to the desk after 4 pm but were told our room was not ready and that we would have to pay $50 to upgrade to a ready room. When I pressed for clarity, the clerk finally said she could put us in another room at no charge but it would not be the same as what we had reserved. I paid the upcharge for what was supposed to be “ocean view” but it was only a partial view obscured by the side of the building. The clerk was also rude and unclear about the parking situation which I had pre-paid for. Trying to get clarity was met with a dismissive attitude and annoyed stares from the staffer. It was most disheartening. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed our stay otherwise except for the chia parfait at breakfast which tasted as if it had gone bad.

Know that the resort fees a bit steep and additional to the hotel.com payment and parking is $40/night. If you are prepared for that, there will no worries. The gym facility is very robust and the pool was highly used. As a resort, there are no near by restaurants or shopping areas.

Our stay was so-so. For the location we were expecting a little more. Some of the staff were very friendly and some were not friendly at all. The room was standard. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom shower handle needs repairing. The best part was the balcony. We ate at the only restaurant. We had a Caesar salad, Ribeye on the bone, and a hamburger. The Ribeye and Burger were delicious. We highly recommend both. We would order them again. We didn’t care for the Caesar salad. For breakfast we ate the Yogurt Bowl (very good) and the breakfast sandwich on a croissant (nothing special).

Property was great and the view of Torrey Pines was fabulous! The bathroom was a little dated with an old mirror. The only thing we didn’t like was the overpriced, badly cooked breakfast buffet.
Property was great and the view of Torrey Pines was fabulous! The bathroom was a little dated with an old mirror. The only thing we didn’t like was the overpriced, badly cooked breakfast buffet.

This property is one of our favorite as it is overlooking a Golf Course and the ocean. It has excellent breakfast buffet and creative dinner options. It is a very special place while still affordable and tucked in the perfect location. The staff is very attentive and always making sure you are taken care of.

It's definitely a great location and a great place. For the standards of San Diego and the prices we pay, I'd like to see them step it up a bit in a few areas. The basketball and tennis courts look like they haven't been resurfaced in twenty years. The room service was ridiculously expensive for not that great of a meal. I found that going to the kiosk for some naked juice and muffins was the better option. For room service, it's this whole ordeal to get the menu. You have to scan the QR code on the tv and look at it on your phone. That's not easier than just having a piece of paper in the room. Check in was super easy, BUT I worry that in the future they're going to think the same thing about room service and add all these steps just to check in thinking it's easier. I DON'T WANT YOUR APP!!! Please don't go in this dystopian direction. Tech is great, but it's not always the best solution. When something is one simple step and you replace it with several steps that are a pain, THAT'S NOT BETTER!!! Keep check-in the way it is and don't send out any more emails to download your terrible app.

Love the underground parking with direct access to the Hilton hotel! Room is spacious & clean. The on-site restaurant, Torreyana, was a pleasant surprise with topnotch Cioppino, delicious heirloom tomato salad, perfectly roasted salmon, crisp potato bravas, and a divine custard for dessert. Couldn't believe how delicious everything was from a hotel kitchen! The pool was well appointed with plenty of floaties/noodles and other toys. The jacuzzi has a lovely view of the golf grounds with ocean views on a clear day. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ... we will return!

Reserved a king bed with golf course view. Couldn’t see anything. Plus had no balcony and the glass window was dirty. Got the 8 pm and spent 20 minutes at desk for them to find me a room. The room smelled of cleaning spray and could not stay in it.
