Was definitely dated, which could jave been ok. TV didnt work, tho we got a new one day 2. Room was not cleaned well at all...outdoor spa broke day 2, so we never got to use it. Sebastian, the manager was great. Katy in the restaurant was great. Food was fantastic.

Sitting in the rooftop hot tub after a day of skiing and looking up at the mountain is fabulous. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast could do with a bit of improvement but was a good addition to what we bought with us. The real gem is the bar/restaurant. Fantastic food and really good atmosphere inc. sports on TV and great music. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a small, older chalet up in the ski area. It is not in the Village. The free trolley does stop at the canyon lodge about 2 blocks away. Do not stay here if you have mobility issues. There are lots of stairs,even to enter, No Elevator! We thought we were going to have a heart attack, dragging our luggage up to the third floor in the steep, enclosed stairwell. Not to mention, we came home with Covid!!

It is OK for an overnight. They need to repair or change jacuzzi! It is very old and electric cables are visible in the water. We didn’t feel that comfortable. Rest was OK.

It’s an older property with absolute A location! It was clean, but not very well updated. The restaurant downstairs was great. The only negative was the parking is on a hill and with ice or snow. It is very difficult to park there. You are not allowed to leave your car in the Canyon Lodge parking lot so you have to move your car after other people have left the restaurant.

While the price point was great, the “hotel” was actually a managed property. Front desk staff told me I could plug my car in at the property. I was awoken at 945pm by the HOA president who had called the police and a tow truck. I explained I had permission, she wasn’t having it. Because the booking was Expedia, I was given a “sorry, we’ll comp a future stay”. I have no desire to return… Also, the room just wasn’t clean. Had jet black feet after an hour. Pet dander/hair everywhere.

Property is desperately in need of a refurb. Room was dirty, ie stained curtains and very dusty. Coffee machine and usb chargers broken. Definitely not value for money.

Room was spacious and clean, with modern bathroom decor and shower area which made it very pleasant. Appreciate the free breakfast also, even though it was a simple grab-n-go type, it was adequate and well organized. The hotel location was conveniently located near a trolley stop which allowed us to use the free transport to get around town.

We saw this hotel had a rating in the 7s, but our (king) bed was very comfortable and the fireplace worked great. The front desk staff were helpful. If you’re expecting a resort upscale stay, this isn’t it, but we came for a hiking trip and every day when we stopped in for a refresh the room was very nicely cleaned. The furniture is very basic (the 2 chairs weren’t super comfortable but were fine, and the bed was extremely comfortable- I chose to sit on the bed to eat my “grab n go” breakfast). The lodge seems to be an older building which has been re-done (again, not fancy or impressive), but it’s clean and comfortable. It’s also right across from some of the ski lifts (canyon lodge?) and you can take the free gondola to “the village” (the local shopping/dining outdoor mall) which gives you a view of the valley (only runs in the mornings). So if you want fancy, this isn’t for you, but if you just want a comfy bed, hot shower, view of the mtns and a place to pit-stop while enjoying nature, this place checks the boxes. 👍

Great walking location close to Canyon Lodge Ski area and one of the Best Mammoth Mountains Restaurants. But the 3 star price hotel itself is way long due to be completely remodeled or better demolished and rebuilt: everything super old, dirty carpets and walls, terrible mattresses and upholstery, towels smells like detergent and degrading on touch.

Tha location was great if it was winter and you were skiing (right next to a lodge & lift) but a little out of the way in the summer. No AC which means the only ventilation in the summer is too have the windows open which makes the room we had very noisy. Also the cable tv left much to be desired with no guide and poor access to the main networks. The continental breakfast probably met the minimum requirements of one but just barely. Finally I’d say it was expensive for what we received.

The Good: 5-minute walk to Canyon Lodge. Upgraded rooms, mostly clean, very responsive staff. The Bad: Broken light fixtures, dated flooring The Ugly: inadequate heat (serviced by one tiny electric wall unit that repeatedly turned off), Bathroom heater did not work.

We have long history of visiting this hotel since decade ago. We love the european chalet style building. But the more recent visit make it less to be desired. Even though got renovation inside. Carpet took out replace with hardwood floor. But the floor is sticky, dark ugly color, and didn't bother to sound proof it, leaving huge gap at front door bottom, with old/crammed rooms design, noise travels really bad. Had to put a lot towel underneath the door to block the sound out of gap. Bathroom entry way still super narrow. Not much decoration at interior, it will nice to put some european stuff on it. A/C heater unit didn't change, was very loud, hard to control the wind speed and awkwardly located. Lastly, the breakfast is not as good as before (but may be with overall trend of all USA hotels). Big nice real european like breakfast exist 10 yrs is no more even after covid left. Now just a goodie bag left for you to pick up at hallway 8am. I had to leave early, they don't even provide earlier pick up unlike the hotels in Europe. I seldom revisit a hotel many times, but I have been a faithful visitor in this hotel for years. I think after this time, I will look elsewhere. It's still a good hotel, just not as good as before.

We had limited choices for hotel room that night so we ended up with this property. Booked it on line and choose the deluxe queen room which super small and hard to get around in. The DYI corner shower was cramped as well. Nothing in this room was deluxe. The price was ridiculously high for these accommodations. If you can’t do stairs, this place is not for you.

Dated hotel. Perhaps we got the oldest room. Dirty carpet. Noisy room - could hear the neighbor's TV all night. Water took about 5 min to get hot. Not even a place to sit for the grab and go "continental breakfast" The on-site restaurant smelled delicious when we arrived.

I had high hopes for this location. The facility is average at best. The path into the room was stained noticably dirty. I came around 2 pm because the website said we could check in early and was met by a very rude lady ask what we needed and informed me check in wasn't till 4 pm. I explained my understanding and she said based on availability and there is none. Fortunately she was gone when we checked in. The gentleman was very nice and a complete difference from the former person. The breakfast was fruit, yogurt, and bread. Definitely nothing fancy.

Great location, walking distance to Canyon Lodge. Parking was easy. No elevator, and lots of steps, so packing a bag is better than a suitcase. Clean cozy rooms. Comfortable beds. Very friendly staff and they offer a grab and go breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

We were un impressed by the state of the place. We thought we were getting a hotel room by the lifts but we were directed to a mini condo located about a mile from the hotel. The bedroom was ok the rest of the place definitely outdated and not worth the price. We ended up cleaning as soon as we arrived and left a day early quite disappointed. The hotel restaurant offers good food and excellent service. The condo should not be ambiguously pegged to the hotel page and needs some remodeling.

Hotel is in a great location! Close enough to walk to lift even for a 67 year old! Restaurant good Happy hour nice Morning continental breakfast is ok. Could not hurt to start coffee a bit earlier then maybe bring food out at 8am. Besides that the stay was fantastic. Will be back.

this is not the property that we were promised by expedia but also not from reception staff. we booked this place with the understanding from the map that this property was located right off the chair lift Mammoth Mountain. we even tried to check in at 2pm and no mention after discussing location and parking, We were told to checking after 4pm afterwards we were checked in to an offsite location are 0.5 miles away from the closest ski lift

It's a scam! They've listed it next to Canyon Lodge, but the actual location is in town. About 2 miles away! This is NOT by any means an accommodation adjacent to the resort! This listing should be taken off of Expedia.

Older hotel that the hot water heater didn’t work in the 1st room. Then we were moved into a second room the TV remote didn’t work. The alarm clock was broken. But the biggest problem was the restaurant. We purchased the German dinner for 2 at a cost of $82.00 and the meal was gross. Everything was cooked in the same pan and everything tasted the same. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else. This hotel puts a grab and go breakfast starting at 8:00 am. The small 2 cup coffee pot was dirty and still had the old coffee in it.

Great hotel close to canyon lodge. The hotel room is dated but does give a cozy mountain cabin feel. The main attraction is how close it is to canyon lodge so you can just walk there in the morning for first tracks. The bar and restaurant are also huge pluses with great food and drinks.

Austria Hof is a cute property nestled right next to the mountain next to the Canyon Express lift. It resembles an Alpen chalet. It's an older property but well kept. The only reason I can't give a five start rating is that we partly booked here to try the German restaurant and pub downstairs but it was closed for renovation. It would have been nice of them to notify their prospective guests that their well-known restaurant would not be there to enjoy.

The rooms are old and tired but very clean. The location is walking distance to chairlift, however this charilift is closed for the season and this should be disclosed in the reservation portal. Also both the restaurant and the bar are closed for the season and was not mentioned in your reservation system. Basically felt like a bait and switch. My reason for staying at this property was to walk to the chairlift to ski and then enjoy dinner in the hotel, neither of which was possible. I understand that this is the end of the season but full disclosure is not that difficult and lack of disclosure seems to be a pattern on many Expedia properties.

Food at the restaurant exceeded expectations. Super convenient to the mountain! Friendly staff and had everything we needed for our shoet stay!
