This property was excellent especially with all the available activities! The grounds were well taken care of and the staff was friendly and professional. There was an arcade, multiple pools, boat ride, and holiday activities which we participated in. We enjoyed the open access to the tennis courts and pickle ball courts.

Very nice property but way too crowded. I don't know if they ran a special but people from the area around it were allowed in at the pool and it was so crowded you could hardly moved. I asked and talked to some people who were wearing special bands at the pool. Not really comfy. Also, I've never been to a Marriott that did NOT have ice cream to order! My daughter was so disappointed. Now the separate restaurant had ice cream and fabulous. But the regular room service menu was not the best I've had at Marriotts.

The initial room that we were placed in was at least 20 degrees warmer than the hallways and common areas. Facilities came and attempted to address, however they could not further cool the room. Limited options to move to, and ended up wasting about 2 hours while they tried to fix the temp or find another room for us. We were here for a concert so the wasted time was frustrating. Pool was crowded and all services closed at 5pm, even though it was over 90 degrees outside with plenty of guests hoping for food & drink service. Property is in need of upgrades.

Beautiful property in Palm Desert! The Rockwood Grill had an excellent dinner and breakfast menu. We reserved "VIP" Chairs at the pool! Very worth it! Right by the pool and a server to keep us fed and hydrated. The Putting Course was closed for maintenance but looked like a fun activity. My husband and son played the golf course and enjoyed it a lot and myself and my daughter in law got massages. Very nice spa facility. A great getaway weekend. We would definitely stay here again.

This property was likely a stunning some years ago. The main lobby area remains quite nice and is interesting with the pond and boats. The pool area is large like a resort with multiple pools and a bar. The family pool lacks any kind of kid friendly accommodation like slides or fountains. Overall the pool area is the main attraction here. The outside activities are also nice like pickle ball and other lawn activities. The hotel however is not worth of the JW Marriott designation. It is dated and not very clean. Old carpet in the long long hallways were filthy. Several small pieces of broken glass caught my eye when reflected by the lights. This made me really upset. The glass pieces were all in different areas and not an isolated incident. Also the halls were just generally dirty and not vacuumed. The room was ok. Bedding was nice but room was dated and drab. Lots of Bandai’s type fixes and many years of layers of paint. Just doesn’t look or feel worthy of what a JW Marriott should be.

Most of hotel and property kept very clean and well kept Pool on the other hand was dirty cloudy and had debris floating around in it. Quite dismayed - got in then got out of the pool immediately

My husband and I went for our anniversary and when we got into our room and looked around there were 2 dead cockroaches in the closet and then later that night in the restroom there were two crawling in the bathroom and the air conditioner wasn't working and it was so warm

We were very disappointed with our stay. The hotel felt extremely outdated and not well maintained. The first room we were given still had dirty clothes from the previous guest and the floor had not been cleaned. We came for my daughter’s 18th birthday, hoping it would be a special experience, but it was not. When I called the front desk, they moved us to another room, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation. We also tried the Mikado restaurant, which was old, unclean, and poorly managed—the host appeared very sloppy. After that, we chose not to eat at any of the hotel’s restaurants. The only positive was the short boat ride, which was an okay experience but not enough to make up for the overall disappointment.

I noticed an unpleasant odor on my bed sheets, reminiscent of sweat. Despite my attempt to address this issue by opening the bed, the sheets appeared to have a yellowish hue. In response, I decided to use my own towels to cover the pillows and sheets. Reflecting on this incident, I find it quite distasteful. Although I was initially pleased to be staying at that resort, I have no desire to return after such an experience.

The facility is great and the Mikado restaurant is fantastic. I also love the mini golf course. But the room carpet is dirty. The swimming pools have not been cleaned in many days, lots of leaves in the pools.

The physical layout with the large atrium/lobby was very unique and appealing. Also the pool scene was large and accommodating. It was a nice overall layout that provided a good walkable experience. The dining options were good w/ 3 choices for dinner but really only 1 (not including Starbucks) for breakfast. The rooms were average and could use some updating. The shower/toilet enclosure was clunky and not very functional especially concerning the shower door as water leaked underneath the door consistently. Also the in room safe didn’t work

Check in was pretty quick w a short line. Staff is always good and nice everywhere especially the pool staff. My only gripe is that the shower in my room #4056 was overflowin water outside the shower door to outside the bathroom door into the hallway next to the front door leaving the hallway wet everytime after a shower, this should be looked at, not sure if other rooms/showers have this problem. Otherwise my stay here was good!

Overall it was a nice experience… the amenities were great. However, it seemed that outside our room was the housekeeping closet and there was a lot of talking and noise while they were stocking their carts which woke us up earlier than we wanted.

It was so loud! I couldn’t even sleep from people talking in lobby all night. I called front desk and nothing changed. Had a balcony with a view of parking lot. AC kept turning off. Found a spider in room on wall. Lost a ring that no one saw or could find. I would not stay again

We had a room on the top floor facing the pool / lake area - it was beautiful! The spa was incredible, and the restaurants were amazing. Lots of shopping; and the aviary was my personal favorite, since I love parrots. The only 'oddity' was the room that had a sliding door which is typically a wall - to separate the room from the bathtub / bathroom area. The toilet was behind a door, so there was privacy; however, that sliding door that opened up the room directly to the bathtub - I thought that was a little 'different' - I'd not seen that before. Also, the sliding door didn't block any light from shining through between the cracks if you were to leave that sliding door closed. It's like the sliding door didn't actually 'fit'. Anyway, it just seemed ... strange, to me. Other than that - this resort is gorgeous and we had the BEST time.

Beautiful lobby and hotel grounds. Rooms are updated but still seem a little rundown for some reason. Not awful, but not what I normally expect from a JW property. The pool area really needs a refresh as well. Feels more like a theme park hotel than a luxury property. If you’re looking for a family friendly stay - this fits the bill. Lots of dining options to please everyone, thoughtful family friendly touches, and the boats are a fun feature. If you’re looking for a chill weekend in PS I would stay elsewhere.

Some of the rooms haven’t been renovated or updated. Our first room was an older room with a stained bathtub. I called the front desk and they switched our room and the mew room was up to date and more modern. After the room change the stay was perfect.

Amazing hotel. Really poor service on arrival. Waited 1.5 hours for our luggage and this was from 11pm to 12:35pm. There was no reason for it. Valet on Sunday apologized and made it better

It was an all around great weekend getaway. The entire staff was on point with customer service from the staff at check-in/check-out, the poolside staff, cleaning staff, Starbucks staff, and Diana at the concierge desk. Diana especially went above and beyond to make our stay extremely pleasant.

One of the worst hotel visits ever - especially for the brand & price! Assoc that checked us in was friendly -that's where anything good ends. Called ahead asking for crib in room on arrival (as it was late evening & getting the toddler to bed was priority)-told they were out of any crib-like item. Asked for additional bedding to make a sofa bed work for a 1 yr old. At check-in learned our "suite" was on the atrium & the live music would be going until 10pm - the assoc brought this up to me & then said there wasn't another cleaned suite avail, but if it really becomes a problem to call & he'd see if they can speed up cleaning another room. Couldn't get any service at either restaurant/bar to take something to the room (overheard others on hold for room service for 90 min, finally put their kids to bed & walking downstairs to get service). Got to room-the "suite" was a giant conference table with a sofa bed & the actual bed on the other side of a half wall (not what I expect for a suite!). Tried to drown out blaring music with white noise machine- walls were paper thin. after 45 min, still no luggage, got thru on phone to confirm no ETA on delivery of it, so dragged the toddler back thru the hotel to haul our luggage ourselves & attempt to put him to bed. Midway thru trying to get him to sleep, knock at the door with the rollaway bed (we didn't order), then phone rings 5 min later & hangs up-all what you want at 10pm!. More than 2 hrs of issues from arrival-left ASAP in the AM

My family and I came to try it for one night. It was ok and a nice location. However, staff was not super attentive in the lobby bar/dining area. Asked 3-4 people working to help us and I was told someone is on their way and never came so we left and went back to our room. Pool was super crowded as expected but overall maintained well and good service in sweltering heat. The room was nice but no ventilation in the bathrooms made the room smell odd, like old towels, after we showered. We didn’t dine at the restaurants since they were fully booked. The best part was check in, Veronica was amazing and super helpful. Unfortunately it didn’t spill into the rest of our stay. Thankfully only stayed for one night. Fun fact: Saved by the Bell was filmed here for a few episodes when Jessie’s dad got married. That nostalgia was kinda cool!

We had a great stay at the JW Marriot, although we had arranged to pay for an upgrade to a suite (we are a family of 6), and although it was confirmed on the telephone, when we got there, they had overbooked. And be aware- this property is not close to anything, and ubers and taxis are almost impossible to arrange in a timely way. Make sure you have your own vehicle to get around.

There is more good than bad for sure. One thing that really set me off was at check in, I was told they would be holding $300 for incidentals. Great. No problem. However, that same day, we charged items to the room and immediately got hit with a $149 charge on my card. I called the front desk and was told the $300 is actually for room damage, not incidentals. Room damage? I’ve never heard of such a thing! Then I was told that I must not stay at Marriott’s often, that’s the policy. I found that very rude. The property is clean and nice. Not close to many things, but Uber and Lyft are easy to get. The majority of the staff was incredible. It’s a very family oriented resort, so if you’re looking for more adult things or less noise, look elsewhere. The aviary was fun, as was the mini golf and watching the flamingos. All in all it was nice. I have a personal issue with the Asst Manager, as I was told one thing via email, and it didn’t happen, but that has nothing to do with the resort itself. If I visited the area again, I would not choose to stay here, but we did have a great vacation.

Hotel is really nice but you need to pay for the parking. Location is very convenience, however if it happened to have a concert on that day, it is unlikely to find a parking till concert ends, or arrive before concert starts.

I didn’t want to do this, but this was a horrible experience. We booked JW for 2 nights. Right when we got there we did dinner at Mikado, and immediately I felt the food poisoning kick in. My whole trip was spent in the room. It’s the 6th day and I’m still not well. Avoid eating any seafood here as my friend who has also visited here got food poisoning from lobster and scallops. Room is nice, but scruffy. There is a lot of dust over the furniture. The first day our tv was not working. First it was the remote, then the tv itself. On the second day somehow it fixed itself. Room service is way overpriced. For a rotisserie chicken, veggies, mashed potato, and a small pizza, we paid $240. Overall, I wouldn’t visit here again.

We loved the JW Marriott! It is absolutely beautiful and we are definitely coming back. The dining options were great, the facilities are very clean and stunning. You never even have to leave the resort. 10/10 Recommend.

Rooms were nice and activities seemed nice but we only used the game room. We chose this location to try the gondola but it was closed due to wind. We only stayed one night. Restaurants were expensive and not family friendly. We ate in town. Property was pretty with some walkable parts not located in parking lot.

We had a great girls trip! The bar in lobby is fun and service was great. The rooms are comfortable. It was a little loud though. You can hear people in other rooms and going down halls. Didn’t appreciate paying $52 for a bucket of 4 beers by the pool though! Will never do that again. That is an outrageous price for 4 Modelos. It was a bummer that the Japanese restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday, so we didn’t get to enjoy that.
