Holiday Inn Express San Clemente N – Beach Area by IHG

Disappointed had to pay for parking. Great place to stay. We definately will be back. Great breakfast too.

We had a very pleasant stay would have wanted to try pool but it was a bit small and was occupied and no space for a nice swim so we just decided to head out nearby beach but no complaints room was nice and renovated bed was comfortable

The staff was incredibly nice. The rooms were ok and well cleaned. There was a lot of freeway noise in the rooms near the freeway. the pool was an afterthought. Good hotel for a quick visit. The complimentary breakfast was very good.

The is at the end of the street with no other businesses sharing the parking lot. It is never full. Charging $10 to park is just a money grab.

My key card failed 3 different times, locking me out of my room. The website advised “parking included”; but I was charged for parking.

The place was great. It was decorated really cute for Christmas. But a bummer the pool wasn’t open. The pool was definitely a selling point since we had so many kids there for a family reunion.

Everything is great here except for the fact that they charge $10/day for parking now. They are on a hill at the end of the road with no competition for parking spaces. Seems like a money grab.

I stayed here during my weekend getaway with my husband. I chose this hotel because of its value and proximity to my destination. The staff were very helpful in accommodating my early check-in upon arriving a few hours prior to check-in time. The hotel room was clean and comfortable with modern amenities! The daily breakfast has many options and the staff are actively replenishing the items that run out. The only negative issues I can complain about is: 1) the pool size is quite small and no spa option. However, I didn’t choose the hotel based on its pool. I did stop by for a dip and it became crowded quite quickly when a few families come down with the same idea. 2) the hotel rests atop a hill located very close to the 5 freeway. This allows for good views of the city below. However, this posed a challenge to us wanting to walk to nearby restaurants and shops since the incline is so steep. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to the area.

Newly remodeled rooms with new beds made this stay, easy and comfortable for the whole family. Easily coming back with friends near by. Pool water was perfect temp and the hours from 9-9 was an extra bonus.

Everything was very clean, the rooms, the pool, and the outside area. The front desk worker (Ricki) sorry about spelling was very helpful and courteous.

Everything was perfect except we had a ant infestation, ants all over the room.

My room infested with ants, owners knew there was a problem, yet still rented a room: ants in microwave, coffee pot, shower, my personal belongings, any food items Cigarette smoke from room next door

Beautiful architecture and the room was very clean even the remote had been sanitized.

Once we entered the room we found ants on the wall, a little dusty all over the counters and some hairs in the tub and trash under the bathroom sink. To stay there for just two nights it was okay.

I have stayed here a few times and it’s convenient and safe. The walls are a bit thin, so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. The staff is always very helpful!

Noisy in hallways. Especially near the elevator. Ask for a room away from the elevator. They also have an interstate highway running right next to it which I didn’t notice when I booked the room. To be honest, I am very sensitive to Noise.So if you’re not, it might not be a big deal.

The staff is super friendly and his phenomenal. The rooms were superb and very clean. The bed was so comfy. I didn’t wanna leave the hotel. The free breakfast was great. They have a gym and they have washing machines likelihood. I would stay here every time. I’m in San Clemente.

Room was fine except for the air conditioner, which was at bed level and blew right on my face all night. Woke up with a sore throat.

Pretty cool hotel. Nice sized rooms. Very conveniently located close to Doheny State Beach. If you are there to hit up the beach or see a music festival like Ohana this is a great place to stay. Employees were super friendly and even got a little gift bag upon checking in. Walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Like I said room was very specious and definitely more like a suite than a standard sized room.

Lobby was a little dated, rooms were obviously recently updated. Soundproofing is not great

The lights are terrible. They are eco friendly but a bit harsh on the eyes. In addition the noise between levels was annoying. We were on the first floor. There was a continuous pounding of feet overhead.

This hotel is one of the better ones we’ve stayed at. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was better quality than other hotels. The only thing bad during our stay was the person above our room started playing music at 5:00 am one morning and kept us awake.

I don’t know about all of the rooms but the noise from interstate 5 made it difficult to sleep.

The hotel was fine. The room was standard, but clean. The value was good. The location was ok. Right next to the 5 freeway and you have the to drive through a strip mall parking lot to get to the hotel. All that is fine and acceptable because it's a great value. Where it fell short was some weird things happen during our stay. We couldn't get a crib for our baby the first night which is fine because I didn't call ahead to request one. But they told me that they would bring one for the second night. While taking my call for the crib they were apparently checking another party in. In it turns out they issue to room key for our room for this party. A few moments later this family comes and opens the door with a key card. Luckily I was there and my wife was decent and my kids were away from the door. But I sent them back down to the front desk. But I sent them back down to the front desk. The next day we didn't even get the crib that they had said they would bring us. Also at 3:00 a.m. In the morning the fire alarm went off. All the guests had to evacuate their rooms. When I asked what happened they simply said they have no idea. I'm assuming some kids pulled the fire alarm. But had they been that clueless in an actual emergency, that would be concerning. Overall our stay was fine. The hotel is clean. The free breakfast in the morning was clutch. I don't know if I would stay here again but as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

It is always easy to check in. Always friendly and California-style laid back. Quiet rooms.

This was a nice place to stay that was very close to the outlets and an In N' Out and the beach was not too far away, less than a 5 minutes drive (it's right off the highway). I was a little dissapointed at the lack of a hot tub.

Very hidden away in the back of a strip mall. Entrance was hard to find but that sort of makes it safer!

Our stay at this hotel went beyond my expectations. It's a lovely location on a hill away from traffic but still so loose to the freeway. There was plenty of easy parking, and the staff members were very professional and friendly. We liked the room. Even though it was not that spacious, everything was placed nicely—plenty of plug points, including USB ones. I'll stay here again if needed.

Was right off the interstate but felt quiet and safe. Maps address did not take us to the hotel, and was a little confusing trying to find it.

We stayed for one night. The hotel was clean and it looked like it was upgraded (remodeled). We had a good stay. The only thing we did not like at all was the breakfast buffet. So, we had coffee. And packed up to have breakfast on the pier.
