The Volare, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Very pleasant stay and great staff

Exactly what we needed for our trip. We were happily surprised at the quality of this hotel for the (off-season) price. Perfect location. Clean, comfortable room. Free parking. The property is close to the highway but we had no issue with noise. Walking distance to all the downtown spots. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it worked great for our visit to attend a friend’s wedding. We didn’t check out the pool or hot tub, but they did tell us those were available.

Nice hotel in a great location to explore San Clemente. We took train from San Diego so didnt have a car. Easy enough to get to from train station. Quiet and peaceful location, close enough to walk downtown but not too loud from night time crowds. Overall the staff was friendly and let us check in a couple hours early. Room was large and clean, we had a nice balcony. My only complaint was about the pool. We were traveling with 3 year old and she really wanted to use pool. We had to walk back and forth 3 times, twice because our keys wouldn't open gate to pool, he kept giving us new keys, until finally we were able to get into pool area. But then we learned there were no towels, so again had to walk back to front desk. you would think the guy at front desk would have mentioned something about towels one of the 2-3 times we checked with him about the pool.

It was a great stay

This is our regular hotel when we go to San Clemente (about 5-6 times/year). Everything was top shelf in terms of cleanliness, staff friendliness, etc. The only disappointing things were I could not make tea in my room and my room was in the corner where the ocean view I paid for was somewhat obstructed.
