Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel

the pictures on hotel.com and the hotels website showed a working hot tub in the pool area. When we got there the hot tub was closed off and the front desk told its been closed awhile for repairs. They should update there was site to make people aware of no hot tub. Also there was a obvious hornets nest underneath the outside roof above the pool area so we did not stay very long in the pool area.

Pool was closed due to renovation. The room looked old. Needs update. Close to freeway. Hotel was okay. Was expecting more from Best Western. Stayed at other Best Western hotels before but this one was a bit disappointing. Been visiting San Diego many times and I have yet to find a hotel that doesn't look rundown. Will find another place to stay next time

Really quite. Breakfast is pretty good. I also think having a washing machine on site is pretty convenient

In the pictures it shows there’s a hot tub but they must have taken it out and they just have a table there now. There was a gap under the door so a breeze and some light came through. Very noisy but my door faced the pool so it might be because of the echo.

The lot is so small, cars are barely missing each other parking and backing up. It's extremely tight

Older hotel that has been upgraded and renovated. Very good hotel. Good breakfast. I would recommend it. However parking is very limited.

We were expecting a hot tub because the hotel mentioned having one but the hot tub was filled in with cement.

The picture is not the hotel. No heated pool. No jacuzzi. And only 3 story’s high. Absolutely nothing to do in the area and not a great neighborhood. I don’t understand how they are affiliated with Best Western

The staff was very kind and welcoming but we were not impressed with the room. The room smelled musty, had mold and hair on the bathroom ceiling, cigarette burns on the bedspread and couch, the outlets on the side of the bed didn’t work, and the carpet was filthy and left us with black feet. I would not stay here again.

There was a broken knife in the bathroom and a rotten pineapple in fridge. Room seemed like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time

The room was very run down. The light switch cover was half missing, holes in the wall, paint on the mirror, the carpet was sticky. The fridge did not work at all. The shower had 7 minutes of warm water, had to finish my shower in cold water. Exterior was dirty and the garbage was constantly overflowing. Room smelled like mold and cigarette smoke. Staff was friendly.

The electrical outlets were not working properly two of the room lights did not work, the toilet would not flush the carpet was damp and when we checked out a day ahead of time (reserved 2 nights) upon removing our pillows we found a spider and an earwig on a pillow. Expedia was able to get us a full refund for the 2nd night. Thankyou

Everything was nice and clean except for the carpet. Get out of shower and walk on carpet and your feet turn black. The carpet is filthy. Disgusting. People are great. Very polite.

Room was filthy. Hairballs everywhere.

Room was old had a bad odor. Shower had viable mold/ mildew build up. And the final and most concerning there were roaches. Will not be returning to this place.

The carpet in our room smells really bad. Some of the towels and bedsheets are not washed. Dirty and smells bad too . Coffee maker does not work. I will not recommend this place. Only one elevator for the entire building. The pool is dirty.

WE COULD NOT EVEN CONSIDER SLEEPING IN THE BED AS THE ROOM SMELLED SO MUSTY AND SICKENING. WE SLEPT ON TOP OF BED.WITH OUR CLOTHES ON AS THE WHOLE ROOM WAS SO FILTHY...FLOORS. BATHROOM ETC ROOM CARPET WAS FILTHY..AFTER WALKING FROM BED TO BATHROOM TO SHOWER, THE BOTTOM OF MY FEET WERE BLACK WITH DIRT COLLECTED FROM THE SHORT WALK TO BATHROOM. THE FLOOR OF THE BAHTROOM WAS IN TERRIBLE CONDITION..DETERIATED OLD UNKEPT UNCLEAN.

The first room we were in smelled awful. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled like mold. NO HOT WATER!! They moved us to another room, it did not smell and was a little nicer than the first, but then again, NO HOT WATER!! Not even warm. We were told the boiler was out for the first floor and it would be getting fixed the next day...offered to move us to the 2nd floor but that room smelled like smoke. We were there for 5 nights and not once had hot water. Awful experience!!

Old property, very noisy. Couldnt sleep well because you hear everything including conversations from neighbors.

Ok hotel. Right off the freeway. Bed was comfortable. Nothing fancy. The main issue was the toiltrr struggled to flush, the bathtub felt soft and for some odd reason the phone would randomly ring. Staff was super friendly, so that made it pleasent.

The room condition was bad in a way that I can hear noise and people talking outside as if there is no wall. Then the ice machine was close to my room, and the noise from the ice machine is loud everytime someone is using it.

Rooms are big. The bathroom is very small. The air conditioner is VERY loud when on.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve always been a fan of Best Western, and this location truly impressed me. I stayed here for 3 weeks with my mother after her surgery, and it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the housekeeping team kept everything spotless and restocked. The room itself was quiet, comfortable, and so well maintained. The hotel had everything we needed—great lighting and mirrors throughout, a nice pool, washers and dryers with easy phone pay, and a convenient location near parks and shops. Breakfast was good, and the entire space felt safe and inviting. I even enjoyed walking up to the third floor just to take in the peaceful view. Leaving was bittersweet because this hotel felt like home. Everything was phenomenal, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be returning!

The rooms are very spacious and clean! The breakfast is good and not overcrowded. The room WiFi is not suitable for remote work. The parking is free! I enjoy staying here while in San Diego!

Good rooms. Some renovations. Very, very nice TVs with hundreds of channels, 50inch HDTV is legit.

Room 128 2 queens first floor facing pool. These were actually full size not queen size beds. Comfortable mattress but sheets and blankets are adequate. Room fan runs continuously. Central location at property. Room had several power outlets not in working condition. Bathroom is very small. Shower water does not get above warm-not even very warm :( Refrigerator and microwave worked as expected.

This was the most unacceptable experience I have ever had. This falls both on Best Western and Hotels.com. My workers sat in the lobby for over 5 hours (Yes that is right 5 hours) waiting to check in. First I contact Best Western asking them why my worker could not check in. The rude desk clerk said I needed to contact Hotels.com. I did just that. And was told that every thing was taken care of and that my worker would be able to check in. Forty-five minutes go by and I get a call that they still have not been able to check in. I contact Hotels.com yet again and was told that it would be taken care of. Again another 45 minutes goes by and still they are sitting in the lobby. Call back Hotels.com for assistance, I sat on hold for more than 30 minutes. At this point my workers have been sitting in the lobby for over three hours. I call back a third time to try to resolve the issue and you guessed it. I was put on hold for another 25 minutes. So I hung up thinking that I was forgotten about. Finally I called back one more time. At this point my workers have been sitting in the lobby for over 5 hours. Thought I would try one more time to get this situation resolved. NO could not get it done. Finally I told my workers to pack it up. I called a La Quinta hotel at 11:15 pm. I made reservations for them there. And guess what. All went smoothly. I have been a customer with Hotels.com for many years. Last time I will use them and I will never use Best Western.

The hotel itself needs some upgrades, but the staff made the stay 5 stars. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful every step of the way. The first room we were in, the A/C didn't work, but the fan was blowing. The maintenance man thought it was working but when I disagreed, he immediately verified with the manager that we could switch rooms, and then stayed and helped until we were set up in our new room. Breakfast was good and everything was pleasant.

Carpets are filthy and will stain your socks. Was also charged twice, they said to give it 24 hrs and it’s been 6 days and I still can’t get my money back.

Best part was service at the front desk. I can't recall the name of the person who assisted me. Her service was top notched and very helpful.

Staffs are not friendly. The staff request Expedia to update my name and call them before checking in. Took 30 minutes to complete the process.

Bunch of scumbags. They gave up my room without properly contacting me to straighten out the billing. They did it because it was comic con weekend and they knew the could get 5x my original price if they resold my room. I only found out when I tried to check in the night of my check in at 11 and was stranded.

Staff service was very good. I enjoyed the stay.

It is a great location for military friends and family. The parking lot is very small.

This is a place to stay for a comfortable bed, hot shower, (they have the small travel size toiletries, so bring your own), and it’s generally quiet. Literally, a right turn onto the I-15 freeway, but you don’t hear any of the freeway traffic. It’s in a convenient location with plenty of restaurants nearby including the Little India plaza with great Indian food. Carl’s Jr. right next door for a quick bite to eat and gas station right on the corner. I stay here regularly. Easy parking too.

This was a great location for my needs. Not too far of a drive to the beach. Very close to the freeway. The parking lot was a little crowded, I'm hoping it wasn't being used for other things.

Had a great experience. The room was very clean and looked newly renovated inside. The price was excellent, especially considering it was just a 15-minute drive to SDSU for graduation. Highly recommend for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Good location for ease of access but sits on top of two very busy streets. Staff great, breakfast and rooms adequate. I’ve had 3 stays there and will continue as it meets my needs

We stay here when we visit my daughter in Mira Mesa because it’s 10 minutes from her home. Older facility that has been updated but is still showing some wear. Very clean with a decent free breakfast (including some hot items). Staff is helpful. If you like to walk, the area is not very walkable. This place works for us as the price is reasonable and it’s convenient for a family visit.

It was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. Conveniently located with restaurants, gas stations, and next to the I-15 on ramps making it easy to go on the freeway, yet did not hear freeway traffic at all. I will stay again.

Hard to find and not a lot of parking spaces it’s located near a military base in San Diego. off Miramar

I like this property because it’s centrally located, has a gas station across the street to fill up before you go on the freeway which the freeway on-ramp is literally one block away. The great thing is you don’t hear the freeway or traffic at all. The property is very quiet and I’ve stayed on both sides of the property and you hear nothing in your room. I always have a good night sleep when staying there. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Also, the water pressure and hot water is excellent in the shower. The lobby staff have always been nice. Also, there are plenty of dining options all around. In essence, location plus quiet comfortable clean rooms at a reasonable price point have made this property a preferred place to stay,

This property wasn’t in the best area but the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked amazing.

Absolute best breakfast I’ve had a hotel in my entire life the woman that makes the breakfast wonderful attentive. We had all four of our teenagers with us. No one had any trouble finding something they liked!!!

Basically a below average motel in need of updating. Room smelled like smoke. Breakfast room was way too small to handle the number of people resulting in long lines and overcrowding. Way overpriced for the below average experience.

There was no coffee available for breakfast. There were workers drinking beer and playing music right outside our window. Despite no coffee, the breakfast was good. Especially the sausage and eggs.

It was what we needed for our trip. A place to sleep and shower. Beds were comfy, bathroom was exceptional. Parking lot got full pretty quick at the end of the day but wasn't hard to find parking. A lot of blue collars working out of town here. Breakfast was good, they have different stuff everyday, and the kitchen staff was very attentive. Always making sure there was enough food out and stocked. If you need an inexpensive place to stay for a few nights, I would recommend this place.

The hotel was ok but the complaint was the everyday breakfast. We stayed for eight days and the breakfast was the same every single day!! Sausage? Sausage, and sausage!!! 😛😳 Tiring to eat sausages, not even serving a bacon at least even one time!’

Great for the price. We just needed a place to sleep that was clean & convenient & this was perfect! Breakfast was delicious & options were great!

The chair and carpet were stained. The posted menu for breakfast did not match what was served.

Nice stay and relatively quiet considering how many people were there. The breakfast was a step above typical "grab and go" meals at other hotels, including hot eggs, meat and potatoes at each meal. Staff were helpful and friendly.
