The hotel picked my sister and I up at the Car Rental at the airport and brought us to the hotel. The next morning we took the shuttle back to airport at 5am and it was prompt and fast. Great night sleep. Unfortunately we left before breakfast was open - next time! Thanks!

Very convenient to airport amd freeway. Friendly staff and great coffee bar and breakfast. Fitness facility perfect and outdoor patio very relaxing. Also concierge store was fully stocked with everything you could want toiletries to wine and snacks. Thank you for a great stay!

Great service and loved how the parking has a garage that was only accessible via your room card by scanning it.

Location is convenient. Close to airport, Old Town, Sea World, etc. Daily breakfast was good with a decent variety including pancakes, omelets, bagels and more! My son loved picking a little toy from the treasure chest in the lobby. Rooms were clean and although we were right next to the freeway, we could barely hear it. Pool was small, but clean. Would’ve loved a jacuzzi. Building and parking is secure and seemed safe. The only downfall would be paying for parking. Other than that, I would recommend to others and stay there again.

The staff are all amazing. The little store has ample food for dinner or snacks if you arrive later than you want to go for dinner. The gym is pretty small but very clean.

Everything was great except the parking. We couldn't park in the garage because the clearance was to low. The parking lot is small and not easy to maneuver.

Close to airport, great amenities, free airport shuttle, nice breakfast, big onsite traveler store. They have a reasonably priced taxi service to nearby tourist sites. Free hop on off bus. They gave us a great Italian food delivery suggestion. If I’m ever back in San Diego, I’ll stay there again.

Nice place. We had to wait 30 min. or longer for the shuttle driver to pick us up from the airport, however.

Excellent!! Staff always friendy and helpful. All areas of the facility were spotless. Although I didnt eat breakfast during my stay I did peek in and noticed it clean, organized and well stocked. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thats in the San Diego Old Town area. Also to those that are attending graduation at the MCRD. .

The hotel was nice but the bathroom in our room smelled terrible. It was as if someone had just dropped a huge load and walked out. There was TP still in the toilet. As we were enjoying some on the best pizza we've ever had from Bronk's Pizza (get the calzone!), a massive spider was spotted crawling on the ceiling. Given the fact that our bathroom had been destroyed by an employee (I'm assuming since they clean in right before we get there) we had to take matters into our own hands. After risking my life and playing exterminator, the threat was neutralized and I was able to once again, enjoy my pizza. Breakfast was a 4.8 out of 10.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Old Town San Diego was excellent. Our rooms were very clean. The Housekeeping staff are very courteous and kind. The Front Desk staff are very helpful and friendly. The shuttle drivers are AWESOME! Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. Thank You All!

Huge cockroach in room, had to call them to come to the room! Disgusting, wanted to run out of there! If there was one I’m sure the place is full of them!

I know for a fact the bed covers and sheets were not clean. There was many body hair on the sheets and smudged. The noise on the freeways is loud. Everything else was good including staff. I will not return to this hotel.

The staff was great and the location was convenient in Old Town. However the room was old and moldy smelling. It just was super cheap which was surprising considering I spent $350 for be room. The nasty old moldy smell nearly gave me a headache. Also the bed wasn’t the cleanest with random hairs found throughout. Also wasn’t sure if the bed had bee bugs as I was itching all night (but did not see anything with the naked eye)

Room was clean and decor was nicely updated. Will recommend hotel to friends and family. Also, good location close to airport and downtown.

The room was pretty clean. It was pretty bare bones. Nothing special really. It was a very small room with one queen bed. The staff was ok. Not bad, just not super inviting or friendly.

The property is located right by I-5 and all the two-bed rooms are overlooking it. They tried to accommodate us as far away from it as possible but the noise was still unbearable unless you keep the windows closed of course. The parking downstairs is probably no more than 30 feet away from I-5 with no noise barrier. The noise there is horrendous, and they charge a parking fee for it.

Room was clean and modern. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Easy parking.

At first I was a little worried because I could easily hear people outside the room and upstairs, so I was expecting not being able to sleep but the beds were so comfortable that I slept so good. Room is super clean, LOVE THAT! Staff super nice. Breakfast is ok, not amazing but good enough to get you ready to go. Hotel is literally next to the freeway but the windows are great quality because it did not bother us. Love the location, not too far from anywhere we wanted to go.

Uniquely designed in a residential neighborhood. The biggest drawback is t Request a room on the of side. Although with windows closed it's pretty quiet. Just the outside of the property is very noisy. he proximity to I-5

This property is well located. close enough to Old Town you can walk but there is a shutttle from the hotel as well. Rooms are basic but clean and beds were comfortable. The only downside is being on the side with the freeway, as it’s pretty loud. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed our one night stay.

I was greeted by delightful Art at the front desk. But it went downhill from there. Getting to my room in a separate building was difficult. I was stunned when I entered the room. I’ve never been in such a small and stuffy room. It was San Diego in August and the a/c was off! Room was freakishly small. Felt very uncomfortable

It’s not complicated and they get it mostly right here. My only complaint is the hvac unit only has power levels for control with nothing to correlate that to a temperature. Obviously I will ask someone but it made my first night not great.

The airport shuttle pick-up was timely. The driver was friendly. Check-in was quick. The facility was clean and well kept.

This hotel is amazing for MCRD SD graduation needs. They were very welcoming and top notch service from the hotel, its shuttle drivers and making you feel welcome and they were just as proud of the new marines as the families. Highly recommend staying here. They took care of us and it was a lot of people and never once saw a fault.

Customer representative was very friendly and made check in seamless. Also, he was helpful with recommendations for dinner reservations and transportation.

I want to commend Art at the front desk for his outstanding service. When I requested to extend my stay from one night to two, he accommodated me by upgrading my room to a suite since my original room was already booked for the following night. I truly appreciated his professionalism and willingness to help. However, I am very unhappy with the way the billing was handled. My boss had paid for the first night at the online rate of $437.00, and then we paid for two additional nights at $548.00 each. While we did receive a refund for one night, it was only for the $437.00 rate instead of $548.00. This means my company was charged $548.00 twice when we should have only been charged once at that rate. This is not only incorrect but also unfair—especially given the additional stress we were already experiencing from airline issues. I hope management will review this situation and make it right.

Due to delayed flight, we missed the shuttle by 2 mins. Then when we arrived at the hotel, we were told the elevator isn’t working. We had 4 large bags. Then when we got to the room it was a handicap queen room, we booked a king standard room. We were told it’s the last room.. very poor customer service..

We had a request for a wake-up call which didn’t happen. Got a second call to the room about transit to the airport and told the clerk we are on the way down. We arrived 1 minute after the departure time and bus was gone. We asked the clerk now what and he just shrugged his shoulders. This was bitter everyone else was great.

The front desk clerk, first name begins with 'A' was a 5-star, exceptional team member. I checked in just after midnight and he was super accommodating and helpful. He was definitely a breath of fresh air and made my stay great. My room and bed were also exceptional. The breakfast, well, not so great. Weird eggs. Weird-tasting sausage, and no Cinnamons. Boo. Otherwise. I will stay here again.

Stayed overnight before our cruise! Receptionist Adhraa was very friendly and efficient! Free airport shuttle was prompt! We were totally pleasantly surprised that the hotel also provide a free cruise terminal shuttle even though it was not listed as a service on the hotel description of free service! Overall, a very enjoyable stay before our cruise and a huge thank you to Adhraa and all the other staff!

Area was a little sketchy but staff was beyond amazing!

The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and the staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and attentive. The only downside is that it’s not within walking distance of shops, restaurants, or attractions, so transportation is necessary.

What I like about the property was it had everything I needed and it was close by old town restaurants.

Quiet, for being on freeway! Good breakfast. Only downside is it isn't walkable. But this trip we didnt need it to be.

The hotel property is unique because of the location which is near Old Town San Diego and the convenience of the freeway to get to the great tourist destinations of the city. Even though the hotel is next to the freeway, it was quiet in the room.

A convenient hotel along the 5 Freeway that puts you in a great spot to explore Old Town San Diego and the surrounding areas of the city.

The hotel seems to be newly remodeled and the hotel itself was great. My only complaints would be that it wasn't the nicest area and the parking situation is not good. They charge you $20 per night to park, but that doesn't mean that you will even get a parking space if you show up at the hotel late at night. They also don't take down your car info, so they don't know if a car belongs to a hotel guest or not. The parking garage is very small and the parking spaces are small as well, so they can't fit as many cars as there are spaces because some cars take up more than one space.

We drove to San Diego from MT for our son’s graduation from Marine Corps bootcamp. Our stay was comfortable and worth every penny. We all spent time in the heated pool to relax before retiring for the evening.

The service here was fantastic. They have a free shuttle to the airport and Old Town from which you can take public transportation anywhere you want to go. The breakfast was great, lots to choose from. The minimarket came in clutch for late night snacks. Practically across the street is Las Brasas, the best Mexican food we had in SD. The only downside was that although the bed and pillows were soft, the bed sank down into a weird incline, making our feet higher than our heads, not very comfy.

Fantastic staff, check-in and out, breakfast, room (cleanliness, beauty, space) and self-parking. The room ventilation was miraculous. First hotel we’ve stayed EVER where the ac didn’t sound like a jet taking off every time it kicked on—it was absolutely silent and kept the temperature constant throughout the night. Art at the desk was amazing! Expert, efficient and friendly. Exuded pride of ownership in everything he did. He was at the desk when we checked in at 8:00pm and he was still there/there again at 8:00 am!! The breakfast was amazing. The staff was on top of keeping everything available, fresh, hot and the serving area clean. Only drawbacks were the noise (abutting freeway and, just our luck to be surrounded by constantly slamming doors and coughing people), cleanliness of breakfast tables/floor, and self closing bathroom door. Wonderful overnight get stay!!

This was a wonderful stop for a one night stay in San Diego for us. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The free shuttle from the airport was also a plus. The rooms were extremely clean as well as the entire property. They provide a nice breakfast in a dining room that included fresh fruit fresh-made pancakes cinnabon cinnamon rolls eggs omelets and breakfast meats along with a lot of other things. I would highly recommend this if you were staying near the airport

Holiday Inn Express scored big time with me for their excellent shuttle service! They were so friendly and accommodating in picking us up from the airport, taking us to Old Town, and getting us to our cruise embarking port. They also had a fantastic breakfast available - a step above most hotels!

Check-in was quick and easy, we were given directions on where to park but parking was absolutely terrible. They have an underground parking garage type situation, half the cars were double parked and spaces near pillars are almost impossible to park in unless your car is tiny. We have a 2021 Malibu and it was not making it into any of the “open” spaces. We ended up having to park so close to a wall we all had to climb out the passenger side. Even then I had to put a sweatshirt between our vehicle door and the car next to us. Once we got into the room all was well, the air conditioner took a bit to figure out with the remote situation that controls it. The beds are comfortable and clean. We went to breakfast around 9:30 and pretty much everything was gone. We did score some eggs and sausage and a yogurt. They likely were understaffed as I only saw one woman absolutely busting her butt trying to get food and coffee out, she did a great job for what she was trying to handle. After that we went to our room and shortly after the fire alarms went off. Everyone went outside and it stopped, we all just kinda stood there not knowing what to do so we returned to our room after about 5 minutes of silence. Next morning at breakfast even less was there. We then went to the pool and it was clean except a lot of dead bees (nature exists so that’s expected). Overall, I think we paid a bit too much but it was good. It was close to everything we needed to do.

The breakfast area was exceptionally clean, and the breakfast omelettes were a nice change from the offerings at other places. I'll be back.
