Courtyards are typically comfy and executed well and this place was no exception however I’m a bit baffled why no one was ever at the bistro when I went get a small bite for dinner at 7pm and was there to grab coffee on the morning at 6:30 and still it was closed. They also need to get rid of the old school toilets that roll round and round forever after flushing,..time to upgrade to ones that suck everything down in a powerful whoosh!

The hotel is great when you’re traveling for business. The gym is small and feels crowded with 3 people there. I was there on business and many other people were too, so the gym was always full.

A three story hotel that feels like a smaller, cozy destination. Easy check in, quick access from car to lobby to elevator. ( to dining area, to pool, etc. ) It's really well designed. My only complaint was that the pool/jacuzzi heater was down and that was almost the only reason I picked this place. If I had known that was down when I made the reservations I would have stayed elsewhere.

The staff was great. The fact that the elevators failed to function for the two days we were there and being placed on the far end on the fourth floor was unacceptable. They attempted to compensate with Bonvoy points but the actual value was underwhelming considering the major inconvenience of traveling those emergency exits numerous times throughout our stay.

Let me start by saying the staff is great. They don’t include breakfast and charge $15 a night for parking. The lobby area is maintained, not so much for the rest of the hotel. Air conditioning sound alike a broken engine, and the beds and pillows are not comfortable. The hotel feels like the owners are cutting costs and corners as much as possible. Not as important, but the I’ve seen iPads with bigger screens than the TV’s in the room. Would not stay there again.

This stay was pretty decent place to lay your head. It was clean and staff was very welcoming. I will say night shift needs more then one person :/ but they never once were rude even when busy. The bathroom in the room needs updated for sure rusted towel hangers , fire sprinkler (inside restroom). The bed was comfy but not excellent… definitely need more pillows so bring those or a blanket to prop yourself. Could hear our neighboring room TV :/ our TV didn’t work but front desk was very accommodating for this issue, thank you! Hot tub is the best!!!! Margaritas were on point! We would stay again if ever needed. Thank you to the staff for being so kind at all times !

The staff was nice. The decor was dated and no real extras. Our room had an awful amount of weird staining (mold?) on the wall behind our bed that was pretty disconcerting. Location was good for our needs.

There was mold all in the grout in the bath tub. Yucky The bathtub had no pressure of water and on the other side of the wall on the ground the carpet was soaked with a lot of water. They have slider doors into bathroom that you ca t close all the way.

Our room was dirty. Linens had stains, bathtub had chipping, and we had ants/crickets. Felt extremely dirty. Hotel had a small bistro with a few options with limited hours. Luckily the location of the hotel is close by to many other food options. Gym was tiny with again, limited options. We stayed here due to our friends wedding block being at this location. A few other friends we spoke to also had the ant problem in their room. Overall, I would never stay here again. Specifically for the lack of cleanliness and ants.

This property is right next to the highway. And it is extremely loud. You can hear the noise of the highway from your room very clearly. Even though there are windows they seem to be very thin. Other than that it does maintain the typical Marriott quality standards

Rude inconsiderate staff. I was EMAILED not called but EMAILED at 7pm, that they had to relocate me to a sister hotel down the street because of a maintenance issue in my double bed room. Instead of accommodating me at their hotel, they sent me to another hotel that did no notify me that I’d be placed on a single bed room. So when I got to the room and it was not a double bed that I booked and paid for, I headed back to the front desk to sort it out. That’s when they told me all of their double bed rooms had been all booked up for a week! Why would I be sent to a hotel that could not accommodate what I booked and paid for? Because the staff and management at Marriott San Bernardo could care less about my reservation since I booked from Expedia (a third party) and these reservations “are not priority” It was a mess. I obviously needed somewhere to sleep that night so guess where I ended up? ON THE FLOOR! As I had 4 people in my party. Mind you, I was dealing with all of this at 10pm. The only response I kept getting from staff was “there’s nothing we can do for you.” It was the worse hotel experience I’ve had by far.

She helped to make sure my last minute stay had the very best rate available, made me feel so comfortable with her kind smile and lighthearted mannerisms, all while being perfectly professional yet personally intuitive. The stay was okay . Reasons why : When I arrived the front desk had checked me in and provided me with the room key. We set our items down and we took a nap , woke up and went to pick food up . Once we arrived back to our room the key no longer worked . I asked my husband and daughter to stay near the room as I’d figure out the issue (holding our food in hand). Once I went to the front desk I asked what the issue was. Turns out the front desk never checked us in so the inactivated our room key. I waited to get the situation fixed . By the time I went back to the room my food was cold ! SN: they offered us complimentary breakfeast. We did not get the chance to eat it as it was from 7am-10am and we had to leave asap to our destination. Since the hotel was a busy hotel (I was staying for 3 nights) every time I’d leave I felt like they’d give my room away without notice ! ( lost my peace of mind) Secondly : our check out time was 11am . The day of checkout they knocked on our door at 8:30 am and attempted to open our door while we were sleeping! ( we wanted to sleep in) . We rushed up from our sleep and stoped the guy from coming in. Then…. At 9:00 they did the same ! I felt like we’re rushing us to leave! I wanted to shower before leaving but didn’t get the chance since I felt like I needed to go ! We ended up leaving by 9:30. Which really annoyed my stay ! Honestly, next time I’ll spend more for a more relaxed stay.

Easy access off of I-15. It’s in a court so there is minimal traffic. While the grounds are immaculate, the park adjacent to the hotel is beautiful (great paths and bridges over ponds make for a pleasant walk for your pet. Rooms were immaculate, beds super comfy. Hotel staff are very friendly and informative! Definitely one to bookmark should we travel this way again!

It was our first time staying here but would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway as a couple or with family. We stayed on the 4th floor the area look freshly remodeled and very clean. They had pool hot tub and beautiful grounds. If you wanted to just hang out there they had plenty of room to relax by the pool or enjoy a drink and watch Tv in the large lounge area. The food they offered look great decent prices as well. We will definitely be back it was centralized to everything restaurants and San Diego. The hospitality we received when we got there and when we left made a great difference from other places we've stayed in past. We will definitely be back! Until next time...

I loved the restaurant/bar area and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Eddie made me the best margaritas and Chris was very relatable and gave me the best conversations! I did have an issue with the a/c unit in my first room, but Bobby did his best to accommodate me and for that reason I would definitely return. My stay wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t all that bad either. I actually enjoyed myself.

Overall very nice stay. Rooms were very clean and up to date. Enjoyed chatting with Billy at front desk. Very nice young man and knowledgeable about his job and the area. The bar was a little sad with multiple EMPTY bottles, not sure what's up with that.

Overall a nice stay. Very clean, nice rooms, quick check-in process, great Starbucks-like coffee bar in the lobby. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, there were a few problems. We needed an ADA room and were given one, but there were several drawbacks to note. First, the door was so heavy and automatically closed so quickly that it was very difficult to wheel my mom into the room. If she had been alone, she would have been totally unable to get into her room. The room was down a very long hallway, farthest from the elevator, which also made it more difficult. Also, twice during our 3-night stay we got up to our room and had to go back down because our keys weren’t working.
