Although this is primarily a business hotel, the pool, spa, firepit area and Drift bar and restaurant were welcoming and enjoyable. BUT $45 for valet parking! Come on now!!

Very nice,clean, upscale hotel. Like most places in California, parking is a pain if you don’t valet. Parking garage $35/night and doesn’t connect to the inside of the hotel . Originally checked us in to a room on the 12th floor. Hauled all our of our luggage up from the parking garage to find the room hadn’t been cleaned. Luckily, they were able to find us a room on the same floor. Staff was very apologetic.

Loved, loved, loved having the lap lanes in the swimming pool. Parking garage is ridiculous - price is absurd and the entrance consistently had delivery trucks in the way which made exiting and entering challenging. Found the front desk staff to be uninterested. The people managing facilities (such as the pool) were friendly and fun.

Stay was great, although the first time we wanted to use the pool all the lounges were taken the next day we went down early to save lounges. Most hotels don't allow you to do this but I guess it's okay there. The electric car charging stations should have the time enforced. We have an electric car that is not a Tesla so there were only two chargers we could use. Some guests left their cars there all day or all night which meant we couldn't charge our car. Staff was great and super nice and super helpful. From the valet to the bellman, to the bar tenders and house keeping all were great!

Only negative thing was low quality of pool water. It was unexpected. We were here last year this time also and pool water was so clean but this time it was dirty. They better do something about it. Everything else was just very good !

stayed here many times and overall very good however, we stay here because of the tennis courts but the courts need attention and maintenance. the lights were all burned out and the playing surface is in terrible shape now. also the hot tub always seems to be out of order more attention to these facilities would make the hotel perfect for us

I had a terrible 7 nights stay at Hyatt Regency La Jolla. In these 7 nights my room was cleaned one time only! I called the front desk and asked for my room to be cleaned the lady who answered the phone was not very polite, and she sent no one, I talked to the cleaning staff at my floor and asked them to clean my room but no one did, it was the fist time I experience such thing! Another issue the bathroom sliding good inside the room can open until someone from outside of the bathroom could help you do that, my daughter was locked in while I went down to get a coffee and she was terrified! The bed sheets had stains in them, even the clean ones! The bed and pillows are so uncomfortable, I had neck and back pain when I woke up. I have never had any of these issues in any other hotel I stayed in. I will never go back there nor recommend it to anyone.

This morning when we woke up we noticed one of the queen beds had what appears to be a blood stain by the pillow area. This tells us that the sheets we slept in were not changed. Additionally in this day and age of Covid-19, it would seem logical that hotels would be extra diligent in making sure that the rooms and all common areas are kept clean and disinfected to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests. We brought this to the attention of the manager, Leah in the morning when we phoned the front desk. Additionally, the water in the tub was not draining properly at all and we let her know about that as well. She assured us that the room would be cleaned and the shower drain would be fixed by one of our "engineers." We returned in the evening with our two children who were cranky and wanted to go to sleep. We came to our room and could not believe it when we saw that the bloody bed sheet had not been changed and the room was left completely untouched. Leah said she would get the room cleaned now. We waited over an hour in the lobby so we could have access to our room. She also assured us that the shower tub drain was fixed. When we went back after an hour, the only thing changed was the bed sheets and everything else was not clean. All the trash we had left was still in the trash cans and no new towels were provided. The shower drain was also still totally backed up. Also, all elevator safety inspections expired from Jan. \'22!

I Had to make a last min trip down to San Diego from the LA area the other evening for an early meeting next day. I had stayed at the HYATT La Jolla 20 + yrs ago when I lived in the SD area. The property used to be a FINE resort. the room (414) was nothing short of a 1 star hotel room. the carpet had tears, the bathroom shower glass and door was filthy, dark mold all over, the vanity had a piece of wood obviously missing - no one cared to repair it or make it presentable. The Mattress was about as fluffy as a marshmallow - NOT in a good way. the icing on the cake was the parking arm / lane being down and 10 cars waiting to exit... HIT The call button ... SILENCE...

Beautiful spotless room with a comfortable bed and pillows. Only complaints: hallway noise easily penetrated the walls of the room; and the toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and lotion) all seemed to be watered down to the point of running out of my hand as I applied. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent.

Room very dark, lack of over head lighting and low watt bulbs. Shower did not have a curtain, only partly glass enclosed, lots of water sprays on floor and hard to adjust temp without being in the shower. Only on chair in the room at the desk

i was switching the HDMI cord for my xbox to stream movies but for some reason it kept losing connection every 10-20 minutes. not a huge problem but a little annoying. everything was super clean and rooms were spacious. This is also our 2nd stay here at this hotel and it’s been almost a 10/10 everytime.

Great pool. Clean rooms. Cafe and restaurant on-site. Our room was next to the elevator which was noisy. Noise through the wall of the bedroom of elevator going up and down.Recommend asking for a room not next to the elevator.

Beautiful hotel located next to UCSD. Property looks great and in good condition. Beautiful pool and tennis courts. Plentiful parking in the garage or outside the hotel for free. As noted in other reviews, the Rooms have very thin walls. You can hear your neighbor sneeze, flush or talk. Everything. Don’t know how you can fix that!

We arrived at 3:50 PM for a 4:00 PM check-in, but our room wasn't ready until 4:30 PM. No remedy or apology was offered, and we were charged the full price. The service was poor, the beds were stiff, and the pillows were uncomfortable. This will be my first and last stay at a Hyatt.

Worse check in service experience ever. Receptionist wearing mask muffled her voice and could not be understood. She was confused about the checking and payment process. The hotel had no valet parking available. The hotel had no water bottle in the room and charged for it at reception.

This hotel is modern and usually has great service. Unfortunately the "do not disturb" sign has no meaning to the cleaning staff and that can be quite annoying when you are trying to rest after an international flight and they continue to bang on the door or outright open it and walk in. Also you wouldnt expect bed bugs in a Hyatt in Lajolla, but the beds were infested.

I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla was so unacceptable, I feel obligated to warn other travelers—especially families. We booked a two-night stay expecting a 4-star experience: two queen beds on the 7th floor or higher. Instead, we were bounced between three different rooms, including one (Room 702) that was completely unsafe for occupancy. The air in that room was so bad my wife struggled to breathe and my son started coughing uncontrollably. It smelled toxic and stale, like mold or chemicals, and it felt like the air had no oxygen. I begged the front desk for a new room and was told the hotel was “100% full”—a lie that was repeated multiple times by different staff members. Eventually, the assistant manager came up to the room himself, stayed for 30 seconds, and said he too was struggling to breathe and described it as “like being at high elevation and out of air.” Only then did they magically find a new room for us. We were moved to Room 403 (a downgrade with a rollaway bed) . To be clear: multiple hotel employees admitted that Room 702 was unsafe. Even the engineer said the air was “awful” and could not be fixed by changing the air filter. The bell hop shared the same experience when he went to move our luggage to another room. Still, we were left in that room for hours, despite pleading for help. This is not just poor service—it’s a health and safety issue.

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla was really great. The front desk was really nice and welcoming when we checked it. We were on the 10th floor which offered some nice views. The room itself was pretty spacious and clean. The dressers are a must whenever I'm in a hotel. The bathroom countertop held a lot of our toiletries and accessories. The 2 queen beds for our family of 4 was just right and we all enjoyed a good night's sleep. The facility had some nice amenities. My husband and I enjoyed hangout by the fire pit at night. Their swimming pool area is also nice. Next time, I'll make sure to bring my tennis gear so I can try out their courts. The hotel itself is pretty central to where we need to be. It's right across UCSD and it's close to a lot of nice restaurants and places to eat. This place is also close to the beaches in the La Jolla area. I highly recommend this place.

We have stayed here before and like the place because it is in a centric location. Close, but not too close to freeways, family and shopping. It is reasonably quiet, mostly well kept and the staff is « Always Great ».

The hotel is close to I-5, UCSD and UTC. The room was spacious, tidy, and quiet. The staff was really nice and waived my parking after learning it’s our first stay at the hotel. Will definitely stay there in the future.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Their pool is very nice, equipped with a bar, food, games (like life-size chess, table tennis, etc). If you have celiac though, I would NOat recommend eating at their restaurant. I was very badly glutened and couldn't get out of bed for almost a full 2 days. Definitely put a huge damper on my 4 day vacation.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel while my son was recovering from foot surgery. The staff was accommodating, the room was clean, and they had extra amenities available to support my son’s needs after surgery. The food from the drift bar was amazing and the staff was friendly and fun. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
