Pool wasn't cleaned after kids destroyed it all weekend and there were giant clumps of hair floating in it. Loud highway next to hotel. Air conditioner filter most likely hadn't been changed in years and will give you a stuffy nose and or a mild respiratory infection. Pros: Convenient to stores, neighborhood isn't scary, price, great food nearby, and close proximity to many San Diego attractions.

The property is older, but well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking is very tight.

Parking was difficult to get around the property, patience is key and a virtue

I realize it's the middle of October but the average daily temperature was in the mid 70s and the pool was not heated clean but icy cold. The room was clean, but poorly appointed. I have never seen a motel, but did not have a towel rack in the bathroom. The toilet looked like it came from an elementary school. It was so small and low of the floor, and every electric outlet in the room was taken up by something important like the television or the microwave and the refrigerator leaving almost nowhere to plug in your phone or other devices . The picture displayed on Expedia is definitely not representative representative of your first impression of the property. It's taken from the backside across the street and up the block. The best view of the entire place the view when you pull up in front would give you an impression that gosh, I don't want to stay here. . Staff was definitely helpful and friendly. I must say that for them, but that is about all I could really say positive about the place.

My room was clean and ready upon arrival. The pool area and the pool were clean. Staff were friendly and quick with service. The night window was awesome for speedy 3am checkout. Only downfall was no elevator to the second floor. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!

Area was convenient and easy to access. Hotel had tight and limited parking. The property was kept up well and clean, but definitely dated.

It was definitely not a fancy hotel but it was clean and a good price. We didn’t get to use the pool because of the weather but it looked very clean. The towels are thin and scratchy but for the price, we just went to Walmart and got a few towels.

Old , horrible beds , dirty walls and bathroom . Smelt nasty , pool was gross , condom floating around in the pool when we got there !

My only real complaint is the property is really small. The rooms are really small. I guess because it’s an older property and that’s just the way they made them back then. Other than that, place was clean, staff were courteous and responsive. I guess at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I was just looking for something inexpensive that was in close proximity to the MCRD. A plus was it did have a pool. It too was really small, but it’s well maintained and clean.

Very dirty and based off the location it is very noisy with vehicles passing by on a busy road and airplanes flying by due to being 1 mile from the airport. Also no elevator so if you have luggage you will need to take it up a flight of stairs

This place is run down. The sheets and pillows were dirty with stains. The pictures on the site are not up to date. We left and stayed somewhere else. Still waiting for Ecpedia to make this right! Very unhappy and deceived!!!

This is by far the dirtiest hotel floor I have stayed, I do not recommend this hotel. I won’t be staying again.

We walked into the room and it smelled terrible, there was black stuff all over one of the beds and the other bed was missing blankets. Dozens of black hairs on the sheets and around the room. We had to go to target and buy new sheets because we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping on the ones provided. Cleaning lady walked in while we were sleeping and woke us up. 0/5 stars if I could. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

It had roaches which negates anything good

Hotel floors were not very clean. You could not walk around with just socks on because they would turn black. Beds were clean, but not very comfortable. Street out front was very busy, but you could not hear it inside. Parking was easy to maneuver, and the neighborhood felt safe. It was very convenient to MCRD and served its purpose of 2 days.

The room is too old and not clean. There's mold on the ceiling in the room and bathroom. Parking was easy because there weren't many guests.

The room was disgusting, my partner and i kept finding long curly hairs in the sheets and towels, moldy ceilings, and blood stains on the walls

The price was good for a vacation when you won’t spend a lot of time in the room. Bathroom sink space was limited for toiletries, so it would have been better for one person, maybe 2, but not for a family of 4. Service was friendly and helpful. The only negative part of my stay was after spending a full day traveling I was looking forward to taking off my shoes to relax, but floor was sticky and dirty so my family couldn’t walk around the room without wearing shoes

Definitely need new mattress, tv and air conditioner does not work.

We had a whole wall of windows, but if we opened them, it got really, really hot in the room. The hotel is right on a busy street and right under a flight path, so it is always pretty noisy.

Hotel very dated. Bed was super hard and uncomfortable. Checkin girl was kind but the parking was blocked off. Had to remove cones ourselves to park. Her helper never came to help.

AC was broken

The hotel is located right on a busy street. If you are a light sleeper, it is going to be a problem for you with all the noise from vehicles driving on the road. So please keep in mind. Also, it is a very old hotel and Decore, and furniture is from 1980s and they have not updated it. So don't expect to modern rooms.

Screen on windows aren’t full size so with window open got eaten by mosquitos. Water pressure was dismal could barely take a shower and air conditioner only worked on high so it was either hot or freezing.

Joy was wonderful with check in. She also helped me when I was too short to reach the window to close it. There is no elevator and she offered to help me take y suitase upstairs. My charging cords for my iphone stopped working and Joy generously loaned me a cord to charge my phone. Enjoyed the early California ambiance, the textured walls, tiles on the rses of the stair case. The heater in the room worked really well making it cozy on a cold night, appreciated the minifridge and microwave too.

Terrible staff, they are terrible at communicating any changes in your booking! Do NOT recommend staying here AT ALL!!!

The front desk lady was smug and kinda rude. She check my Dad in first then me and in the process mixed up our rooms and bill and tried to say it was my fault. The beds are old and you can feel all the springs! The driveway to get into this place is sketchy to say the least!! With very limited parking!! The A/C in my room only worked half the time! No elevator to get to 2nd floor. Walls are paper thin!! You can hear everything from outside the room. You pay for what you get on this one!!!!!

The staff were so amazing and helpful! Very friendly and making you feeling welcome! The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was close to everything we were doing. The price was great! Would definitely recommend!

They charged me $30 to check in early even though the room was ready made service did not clean my room the whole weekend and they refused a late check out! I still have not received my $50 deposit back. I would not recommend this is a few nicer hotels in the area that I have stayed at.

ThE front desk did not let me check in bcuz I book with Expedia a room with them and it says 50 deposit well I didn't know it had to be card so he did not let us book in bcuz not the same that I book the room with I use my debit card app which has no card and book online I went purchase one prepaid and he still did not let us check in pluus I ask for the reservation to he cancel and he printed a receipt out which piss me off with a folio account smh

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. Due to multiple flight delays, I ended up staying here, and I was able to check in early after an exhausting day at the airport, which definitely made my day better. I love that the hotel is close to supermarkets and many stores. Joy was very helpful; she allowed me to store my luggage and gave me some suggestions to pass the time as I waited for my 8 PM flight. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

Great place to stay if you have a marine graduating and stores are close by and also the airport

I loved how close the hotel is to MCRD and other entertainment.

It’s close to sprouts CVS and a couple other stores is in between downtown and point Loma. Those were all good negative side. Do you have a lot of streetwalkers and sketchy crowds at night

It’s a real no frills hotel. So it was comparable and well priced for what it offered I’d have to say. And location in this circumstances was the driving force to choose this establishment to rent at for my stay.

Easy to find and friendly staff. The room has mini refrigerator and microwave....I suggest to include coffee maker with complimentary coffee or tea, hair dryer inside the room, and folding table/chair for clothes.

The room was run down, slopped over! The door had visible gaps..slider barely slid to open (aluminum frame). The room only had to lamps for lighting..the curtains didnt close all the way so there were gaps. The motel was right on a busy street so the sound of traffic woke you up starting at 4am. The house cleaning never dumped our trash, so it was over flowing. Did have micro and mini fridge, but no coffee maker. The floor was tile and dirty/sticky. I would rate this motel a 1 star just because it had a pool.

The stay was a last minute emergency and the room served my purpose. There are no towel racks in the bathroom so i couldn't place my towels anywhere. It would have been nice to have coffee in my room or at least in the lobby. The property is old and the pictures make it look like it is in better shape than it actually is. Again, if you need a last minute stay and on a limit budget this would be okay at best. Otherwise it served my purpose.

Never being in a hotel that does not have coffe maker i the room or at list in the lobby. I specicily requested a ground floor room in writting when i booked, and when i checked in , he saw the request, and he apologize of not seeing it before ,and that i should have called unstead..it hade a smell to .definitely i do not recommend it. I have been in hotels for the same price that wheremuch better .

The front desk person was extremely helpful and friendly! The smell of cleaner in my room was strong. Very unpleasant. No coffee or coffee maker.

It is located close enough to key places. However, service is not good. I asked for room cleaning and it was not done. It was disappointing to be back tired in an unmade bed. Biggest disappointment was that there was not even coffee available in rooms. I hate driving out for this. Any cheap coffee is needed to start my day.
