Hotel is in great location next to the ocean as well as a lot of close/ walkable shops, restaurants and activities. They offer beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes. Rooms are spacious and have great balconies. Pool area is clean and restaurant has good food. Staff was more than helpful and professional. Would recommend for a few days in San Diego.

Pacific Terrace is a great resort for families, but I wouldn’t recommend it for solo travelers seeking high-end luxury. The resort is located right on the beach, which is a major plus. There are plenty of free activities for families to enjoy. The swimming pool is quite small and fills up quickly, so it’s essential to arrive early in the morning if you want a good spot. The service from our poolside server, Eduardo was great. I would like to give a special shout-out to Ashlynn from the front office staff. Her exceptional customer service made a big difference during my stay. Even though it’s not a five-star hotel, she went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met. I believe the manager, Meredith Pelto, should recognize Ashlynn for her outstanding service, as she was a key reason I chose to give a four-star review. On the other hand, I did have some issues. My room wasn’t ready until 4 PM, despite my request for an earlier check-in. Additionally, I found the front office staff, Justin and Jasleen, to be less than helpful and in need of more training in customer service. Lastly, while the concierge assured me of luxury transportation to and from the zoo and airport, I ended up with a Volvo instead of the promised Suburban or Escalade. I paid for luxury transportation and should have received it. Overall the experience was moderately pleasant.

The hotel was amazing and we will definitely be back for another stay! Very clean when we arrived and staff tidied up our room daily for us. The family suite was perfect size for a family of four with a separate living room space and balcony for parents to hangout after kids are asleep. Hotel is within close proximity to shopping and dining. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The pool was perfectly warm to complement the ocean breeze. Only steps away from the beach. Only things to complain about was the additional $40/day to park on-site at the hotel, which seems strange to pay to park at the hotel you already paid an exponential amount to stay at for the week. Also, the TV channels were very limited and we couldn’t find a way to use streaming platforms, so for the couple hours in the evenings/mornings when our kids wanted to watch tv there were very limited options available and even fewer that were kid friendly. But beyond the parking and TV complaints, we enjoyed every second of our stay and would stay again and again!!

The staff was great. They communicated effectively and they helped out whenever possible. The property is on the smaller side, so if you’re looking for cozy you will enjoy it. The pool area is small, so seating is limited. Other than that, there is a ton to do around the property as the walk path abuts the pool and directly past that is the beach.

Well maintained hotel with great staff and amenities (bar/restaurant, pool, gym, bikes) in addition to a perfect location. Only complaint and this will be for booking next time. We booked a room with partial beach view and it was right next to service door which in morning closes loudly. We will splurge on beach suite next time.

Hotel was extremely accommodating. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They were eager to helping give information on local places to go, including discounts to the zoo, Sea World, etc. Valet parking was so fast and convenient. The room had an amazing ocean view, very clean and spacious. The pool was heated, which was nice for the chilly evenings. The hot tub great. The hotel is so close to the boardwalk, so many places within walking distance. Amenities at the hotel were nice, small bar but good drinks. The free lemonade, iced tea, and cookies were a nice touch. The room had a fridge, microwave, sink, and dishes to use. So great for heating leftovers from the great places to eat in the area. Definitely would stay here again! Great experience for first time to San Diego and West coast

The hospitality crew were amazing! From check in to check out they were all very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are spacious; however, they do not do much to keep out the noise. You can hear every sliding chair in the place. The bathroom needs major updating and a good cleaning. The lighting in the bathrooms needs to be upgraded as it is not sufficient because of the dark overhead paneling. The pool is very small and the number of chairs available can accommodate only a small number of people staying at this hotel. For the price of this hotel, almost $600 (including $44 a day for parking), it should be so much better!

Bed duvet really stained and gross, still coved with bottom and top white sheet but I do believe it’s time to through those stained ones away. We also had our trash can infested with ants with just having a plastic/ closed hamburger container in the garbage for 12 hours. Just needs a little love.

Drifted off to sleep each night to the peaceful sounds of the Pacific surf. Morning coffee on the balcony watching the surfers and dolphins. The food was AMAZING and the hospitality was top notch. Our room was SPOTLESS clean. (I used to own a motel in the mountains of NC so I am very observant of cleaning/housekeeping practices) If we are ever on the west coast again, we will definitely stay at Pacific Terrace!

Overall I really enjoyed my stay there. The pool are was nice. Room and patio was large. Location great! The bedding definitely could have been better one bed had a cozy comforter and the other bed the comforter was so worn out it felt like just a sheet. Ceiling in bathroom was falling apart.

We just returned from a week stay at the Pacific Terrace on Pacific Beach in San Diego. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The property is clean, well maintained and the people are friendly and accommodating. We had a minor issue with the room lock failing and it was dealt with quickly and we were compensated for any inconvenience. The property and its employees are top notch.

LOVED our stay here. The view from our room (304) was amazing. The room was comfortable and very large! We loved the location, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Great value for the location and quality of the room. Breakfast and coffee were great in the AM as well.

Stayed in room 112, right next to the kitchen. Awakened at 6:00 a.m. by noise coming from the kitchen and in front of our door. Noise continued from 6 a.m. on, so unable to go back to sleep. Made for a poor night’s sleep. Property was overall small, but pleasant. Room was large, clean, pleasant. They need hand held shower heads. Would have been a positive stay except foe the early morning awakening.

Amazingly trip turned around- after expecting our 30th Anniv to include an “ocean view” room after much research & selecting Pacific Terrace (& flying in from NorCal)- we were put in a 1-king room but no view of the ocean. Just the street side. Room was FANTASTIC! With full mini kitchen & all but we called front desk & they worked with they next morn & put us in RM 112. Excellent. Plus chimp’s champagne & charquetsrie! Last night was noisy with small kids above but managed not to let it spoil our stay. Great experience overall!!

Really enjoyed my stay! I had the partial ocean front room and still had a great view of the ocean. The room did overlook the street/parking lot, but it was not noisy (my room was on level 3). Beds were comfortable, room and bathroom were spacious!

Only problem was that our room overlooked the parking lot and were had interrupted sleep from people partying in the parking lot at 1am

Nearly perfect. Staff is curiously friendly. They dont just smile every time you enter the lobby, they make eye contact and engage with you, even if you just saw them 2 minutes ago. They make you want to be there. Service is fatastic. You can call the front desk for any needs, or text "Ivy" (who greets you via text when you check in). As somewhat of a introvert, i love the text option. Its modern and efficient. I utilized the free bike rentals daily. The bikes are not in great condition, but they dont need to be; Its just for cruising the oceanfront. Overall the grounds were quiet. Its not big, compared to your run of the mill Holiday Inn, or the Capri next door. Our room over-looked the pool, and since we're from Minnesota and super touristy, we wanted the patio door open all the time so we could hear the ocean. This meant hearing laughing and banter a bit later into the night when we were trying to sleep. Otherwise it was peaceful and relaxing. The room itself was a two-queen ocean view. Not ideal for my wife and i, but it was either that or a king with only a partial ocean view. We opted for the full view and for us it was worth the trade. High quality amenities, huge tv (that you can link to your streaming services on your phone - loved this!). The only real complaint i have is that we were not able to turn off the patio light, so the light came through the wood slats at night making it difficult to have a dark sleeping environment.

Pacific Terrace is a great resort for families, but I wouldn’t recommend it for solo travelers seeking high-end luxury. The resort is located right on the beach, which is a major plus. There are plenty of free activities for families to enjoy. The swimming pool is quite small and fills up quickly, so it’s essential to arrive early in the morning if you want a good spot. The service from our poolside server, Eduardo was great. I would like to give a special shout-out to Ashlynn from the front office staff. Her exceptional customer service made a big difference during my stay. Even though it’s not a five-star hotel, she went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met. I believe the manager, Meredith Pelto, should recognize Ashlynn for her outstanding service, as she was a key reason I chose to give a four-star review. On the other hand, I did have some issues. My room wasn’t ready until 4 PM, despite my request for an earlier check-in. Additionally, I found the front office staff, Justin and Jasleen, to be less than helpful and in need of more training in customer service. Lastly, while the concierge assured me of luxury transportation to and from the zoo and airport, I ended up with a Volvo instead of the promised Suburban or Escalade. I paid for luxury transportation and should have received it. Overall the experience was moderately pleasant.

There’s no better place to stay in San Diego (PB). There’s so much to do within walking distance that we barely used our car rental. The staff was welcoming and eager to help. Pacific Terrace is big enough to offer fantastic amenities, while being small enough for personal treatment. We will absolutely come back!

The Pacific Terrace was beyond our expectations. Staff helped us get discounted tickets to the zoo and safari park. We borrowed bikes daily to ride along the boardwalk next to the hotel, borrowed beach chairs and toys to play on the beach just steps away from the hotel, and enjoyed a lot of great food in short walking distance from our stay. The heated pool was a hit with the kids and the hotel really did have everything we needed in one place. We will be back!

The staff are absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I have mobility issues because I have ALS and their care and commitment to making my stay special was beyond any expectation. It took a rebooking request and four phone calls after arrival to get the down and feathers out of the room due to an Allergy. Very unacceptable. They would advise someone is coming to change out the bedding and no one would show up. The rest of the stay was excellent.

Lloyd with guest relations was incredible. Attentive, kind, and very helpful. He even let us know we left some shorts behind and offered to mail them back to us. I’ve never had a hotel care about our stay as much as this hotel. So worth it!

This was our first time in San Diego so I had no idea what to expect in the area other than what I read online. Man was I lucky to pick this hotel. After speaking to some of the folks in the area, it's the best there is and the staff is just awesome and incredibly accommodating. Our view was incredible. I wouldn't stay anywhere else unless it was an emergency.

The location was perfect for our family to really immerse ourselves in the Pacific Beach neighborhood. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby and easy access to the beach. The hotel staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful and provided us with all the beach accessories we needed to have a great time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pacific Terrace Hotel. It is ideally located in Pacific Beach with the ocean steps away and a boardwalk dotted with restaurants and shops. The interior is clean and the hotel rooms good sized. The staff are all friendly and professional. I would stay again!

Loved room size and balcony size with view of beach/waves, quiet 3rd floor room, staff would run to get new towels and comp water bottles for the room. Didn't like public bathroom located on south entrance of the building with 5 or 6 homeless seemingly on drugs hanging out there every day. Wife and I loved walking the board walk every morning and nice temperature hot tub and pool for chilly morning/evening. Heavy fog every morning and evening so only 1 sunset over 5 nights stay

Love love love this hotel. Friendliest staff , so unlike other hotels ! Great location down a quiet street , yet only steps to lots of great places to eat ! Pool is actually heated unlike many hotels , so you can actually enjoy it . ;-) highly recommend an oceanfront room, the ones on the ground floor are nice because they have a walkout patio to pool and cafe and the upstairs ones have a great ocean view. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in PB :-)

LOVED our stay here. The view from our room (304) was amazing. The room was comfortable and very large! We loved the location, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Great value for the location and quality of the room. Breakfast and coffee were great in the AM as well.

Overall, a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, helpful and engaging. Seamus was especially helpful with dining locations and things to do. Every time we met a staff person, they greeted us. Valet parking was wonderful. The room was outstanding. It was large, clean, the pillows were high quality, the mattress was superior, the view was the absolute best. The balcony and view was one of the best we have ever had. Directly overlooking the boardwalk, beach and ocean. The only reason for not perfect 10\'s across the board is the cafe is small and has limited menu and no "bar" to hang out and watch TV. But that was actually an advantage as it made the hotel quiet without a younger generation bar hang out. There are plenty of other nearby bars if loud music and loud TVs is your thing. Overall, one of the top 5 hotels I have stayed at in 40 years of travelling. Will definitely come back.

The hotel was great. Room was large, clean and everything worked great. Pool and hot tub cleaned and checked during day and night. They had heaters outside that they turned on in the morning and night. Breakfast breakfast was good either eating in or eating under the heaters and drinks were served by the pool.

All the people that worked there were so nice, fun and helpful. I loved my room with a great ocean view! The only bad thing was they were rejuvenating while we were there so there wasn’t a dining room or a place to sit inside with friends but the weather was nice enough to sit outside during the day.

Wow!! I was so surprised at the level of service at this hotel. We had an Oceanfront room with balcony ( beyond awesome!) and we had a) great stay. The parking garage was easy and convenient, the food was great! At night we sat by a fire pit and under a heat lamp at the pool ( weather was chilly) Brenda in the bar/food service area was really the best. We loved the breakfast! We will definitely be back!

Would be nice if the hotel had a real restaurant. First stay the maid made fun animal towels which we enjoyed a lot this time they didn’t. I know it’s dumb but we really liked it! The staff was SUPER friendly!!!

Our room was nice and big with a beautiful view. The people were all very friendly and nice. The towel animals made by our housekeeper were cute. The food at the cafe was okay but usually not very hot.

They were eager to helping give information on local places to go, including discounts to the zoo, Sea World, etc. Valet parking was so fast and convenient. Very convenient place close to restaurants shops and the beach. Fun family location love that there a pool. Food is great! The staff is wonderful and the fact that they have bikes and beach gear is amazing!
Very convenient place close to restaurants shops and the beach. Fun family location love that there a pool. Food is great! The staff is wonderful and the fact that they have bikes and beach gear is amazing!
