Very friendly staff, extremely clean throughout all areas. We were on floor 14 and had good views around. Room was large, clean, comfortable and shower was powerful. There were free cycles on first come first serve which we used for a couple of hours to tour the harbour side. Parking is expensive so we used a garage a block away for $30 a day as opposed to their service. The hotel is lovely and central so the harbour is a 5-10 minute walk, little Italy 5 minutes, gaslamp quarter is a 10-15 minute walk. USS Midway 15 minute walk. Loads of micro brewery’s within staggering distance as well

Absolutely love this location. It is no more than a 10 minute walk to most San Diego attractions. Also loved they had free yoga every morning and free Cruiser Bikes available. We’ve stayed at this hotel under many different brands, I believe it was a W at one point.

The rooftop bar is a real highlight, offering a great vibe and views, and the bartender was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the breakfast; it was a great start to each day. Two very important things were missing from this hotel that disappointed me- a pool and parking. Very inconvenient to have to pay $60 a night for valet or $25 per entry in a nearby parking structure. Most hotels offer their own parking. The resort fee was also inconvenient as I had already paid a high rate for the room itself. Don’t stay here again.

Hotel bartender was not attentive. Was not even busy but were ignored for 15 min. Left Everything else was great. Walked from train. Walkable to main attractions and dining. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Took advantage of free bike rental. A plus.

Property is nice, staff is friendly. Beware that valet parking is $60 at the property but there's other walkable parking for $25 (without in-and-out privileges). They also charge $25 per night for a destination fee, but give you $25 per night to use at their F&B. I don't think that fee makes sense.

I loved our room and location staff were nice and accommodating. Unfortunately one of our towels had 2 stains from what seems to be fecal matter. Upon further inspection of the room we also noticed a large brown stain maybe 9 inches in diameter from what also appears to be fecal matter.

The walls are so thin and I can hear exactly what people next door were talking about. Windows were so dirty and blurred the city view. There was trash on the floor in the corner I had to pick up by myself at check in. The hotel lobby bar is very nice though and it’s in great location.

The hotel is nice, but the rooms seem to be aging a bit. The room we had smelled a bit musty the entire time, and it was clear that some of the furniture could us some updating. But overall it was a comfortable enough stay.

Terrible hotel especially when you consider the cost. Maybe most people just like the lounge/bar area? Anytime rooms have their doors open or close you hear a super loud thump that is not normal. Walls are paper thin and you hear everything. Uncomfortable pillows. None of the outlets were working in the room. Ordered room service only to be served mediocre items in paper box and bag. Checkout via TV was not working. The TV remote itself was barely working. Probably one of the worst places I’ve stayed in.

Valet is $65/night yet on a Saturday night there was no one out front to help us return. We had to call the front desk at which point someone came out and had us leave our car on the side of the street and assured us that the car would be put away. The room was very small compared to the advertised SQFT, something seemed off. The mattress was not too comfy. The pillows were worse, very flat with no support. The shower hot water worked well! TV had a good amout of channels! Lobby was nicely decorated and smelled good. The bar downstairs was friendly and make solid drinks!

Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Great spot, friendly staff, 6 minute walk from the Santa Fe Station and close to restaurants and shops in Little Italy. Clean room, comfortable bed, good breakfast room service.

The hotel and staff were awesome, no complaints. But the walls are very thin. Our neighbor seemed to have hus TV volume high and we could hear everything clearly. The mid rating is for that alone. Staff was amazing

Truly NOT worth of 520$/night! Toilet/bathroom plumbing kept disturbing noise during the night everytime somebody was using it nearest rooms. Walls/windows were very thin, we woke up every 2,5 hours because garbage truck was cleaning the neigbourhood and kept noise "peep, peep, peep, peep,peep" and we had 18 hours trip back home next morning. Very annoying. Staff was nice and friendly. Rooftop bar staff VERY nice and qualified! Wide enough breakfast on the list. Bed was quite okay, just a little too soft. Empty minibar. Bathroom surely needs refurbishment, old bathtub, no handshower. Warm water came quickly. Good location near Little Italy and harbour.

The hotel is nice, clean and well managed, and the staff is very helpful. The room was sufficient, but a little cramped. There was a "window seat" but it was waist high so not so comfortable. The only chair in the room was a wire-legged office seat under the desk, also not comfortable for sitting but served well enough to put on your socks and shoes.

This was the best last minute decision I’ve ever made. We drove in for a birthday party and decided to stay the night. The hotel is super clean and tastefully decorated. We had dinner and breakfast in our room and both were delicious. I checked in at the same time some unhappy campers were checking in. The care and attention Jayse showed was exemplary! He was calm, listened and explained repeatedly but never showed frustration. Y’all have a gem in Jayse! I will definitely be back. This is our new go to stay in San Diego.

Although our double bed room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, Jocelyn and Jayse more than made it up by upgrading my friends and I to the presidential suite. They both went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with F&B credit to show us how committed to our satisfaction they were. I would absolutely stay here again! Thank you!

I was disappointed in the service of this property. I booked my stay a month prior for 4 adults in a Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds, City View. When I was checking into the property I was told they did not have my room available it was already taken. Only thing they could do was upgrade our room to a king suite and provide a rollaway bed. We had not choice but to accept. We were told the rollaway bed would be brought to our room in approximately 15 mins. I followed up 4 times on the rollaway bed. It was not brought to our room until almost 11pm. We had to ask for an additional rollaway bed the following day as it was 4 of us in a room. I was told booking through a third party does not guarantee you your room, I had never heard of this either.

The customer experience at this hotel is awful!! They advertise check-in as 4pm. We show up at 4:45pm and they tell us room isn't ready. Our check-in person proceeds to tell us we should have booked through Marriott and not Expedia. We politely let that rude comment go and come back at 6pm, our room still isn't ready!! We had to elevate and complain to management to get a room. Horrible! We will Never be staying at this hotel ever again.

My girlfriends and I were in San Diego for a few days. This was our first time staying at Hotel Republic. It was everything we’d hoped it would be and so much more! We arrived around 11:30am, way before check in. Not only was a room ready but Debra at the front desk went above and beyond! She upgraded us to a higher floor with beautiful views of both the city and the bay! Debra was friendly and helpful! We put our bags in our room and went exploring. When we returned to the room, someone had made us the “Guest of the Day”. They left us a beautiful post card with a sweet note and a yummy plate of fruit. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Republic again!

Located in downtown San Diego, the location is convenient if you want to hop on a train or bus to and from the airport or surrounding areas. The room was also spacious, and the hotel had suitable food options. I never got a chance to try the bar. It closed early on the day I wanted to attend.

Excellent staff and service. Clean rooms. Right in the middle between Gaslamp and Little Italy, both within walking distance. Super short drive to the zoo. Downtown area was sketchy. A lot of homeless and -not-all-there mentally folk which can't be helped. Would definitely stay again!

We loved our stay at the Hotel Republic in San Diego! Beautiful hotel, super comfy room, great food and drink at Trades Bar and also Topside Terrace restaurant (so lovely!). Outstanding customer service from all staff. Nahoku at reception was especially welcoming and helpful. We took the train from Oceanside, easy walk to Hotel Republic, had dinner at Topside Terrace before walking over to Civic Theater for Trevor Noah show. Today we walked down to the Midway and Embarcadero. We will be back to Hotel Republic! Highly recommend!

This property was stylish and comfortable, and centrally located. If you want to stay in the Gaslamp, I would absolutely recommend Hotel Republic! My room (a king) was huge, the amenities of the hotel were nice, and breakfast was good.
